I love it here. I've been coming here for probably like 10 years now and it's my go to whenever I'm in need of an eye exam or new glasses. When I had an issue in the past with my current glasses prescription, they were quick in finding out what was wrong and figuring out a solution. My doctor here is Dr. Penn Tran and he's always helpful and caring. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else for my exams or glasses. They have a wide selection to choose from as well as good brands or budget options. I splurged on myself last time and I'll definitely be keeping these glasses for a while. I always make my appointment months in advance as well, I recommend making an appointment as they can get busy. Staff is always nice and the office always looks in pristine condition. Many of the reviews are raving about the doctor but the staff??? Apathetic, unenthusiastic and unsanitary. Did not communicate with me the steps in the pretest before seeing the optometrist rather, poked me with the eye pressure tool 1. without wearing gloves, 2. without properly disinfecting the tool, and 3. nearly forgetting to remove the previous patient's eye juices from the disposable film in the first place. Gross! I came down with some kind of illness overnight after this appointment (which I had promptly walked out of). I came to this optometrist office for the convenience of location however at this point I will just drive the extra 20 minutes to find a different office that both looks and feels cleaner, has staff that is professional and helpful, and has a wider variety of glasses to choose from (this location had 99% stock of name brands that were extremely overpriced, limiting patients to one small revolving rack of mediocre frames you'd find 20+ years ago). Save yourself the time and the money and don't buy from this office which is clearly set up to take more of your money, time and health. read more

DO NOT BUY YOUR GLASSES HERE! The staff is great, and the optometrist is amazing. I would come to get my prescription here, but this was the first time I ordered glasses through them. Their manufacturer is one of the worst I've ever seen. Two weeks after the order, the glasses arrived with the wrong prescription which they thankfully caught. They had to reorder lenses, which a month and a half later from the initial order only one set arrived! Glasses are not cheap, and they are necessities. I only have one of my glasses and the other I am still waiting on. The staff was apologetic and upgraded my lenses for me for the hassle, but this is beyond frustrating. Get your prescription here, but buy your glasses somewhere else! read more

Decided to try this place for the first time for an eye exam and am overall not impressed. I will not be returning for the following reasons. Pros: - The workers are kind. - Excellent selection of frames. Cons: - Concerns about sanitizing equipment. People are coughing up and down the equipment where exams are taking place and should be throughly cleaned between customers. - There is no centralized reception area and limited seating. - Parking is terrible. - Most importantly, please don't play with peoples time. Waiting to be seen by the optometrist takes longer than expected. I waited for an hour and ultimately wasn't seen by the doctor. I will gladly go where my time is respected. I've been with Eye-C-You for nearly five years, and even though I've moved quite a distance away, I still see myself driving here annually for check ups and updates on prescriptions. What's ridiculous is even though I've come here nearly five years, I really only visit once or twice a year. In other words despite five years of visits, I don't know remember many of the staffs' names. However, the optometrists and staff here were always super professional and personable. Despite the high volume of orders and work that they have, they are always able to strike up conversation that is beyond small talk. I leave without a need to return after receiving my prescription contacts, but I return anyway sometimes to interact with the staff and window shop for new frames. What amazes me more is that the staff here are not only personable but nice as well. They are up with current trends and knew which frames to select for me given my face shape and personality. They are also honest when frames don't quite work out and the positive affirmations have always been a confidence booster despite my low self-esteem. Because of them, I know have multiple sets of frames that I use as well as color contacts, a realm I never would've considered had it not been for a staff member's suggestion to try them on. About half the time that someone sees me with color contacts, they always compliment me on them, and I've noticed my own personal growth through these small yet impactful interactions here. Some things in life are priceless, and vision is one of them. For me, a trip to Eye-C-You Optometry is also one of those things. read more

I've had my eye check up here before for a prescription and it was good in 2023. I came in today for a glasses fix, note they never broke off the hinge but a connecting piece of it slide off. I asked if they could fix my glasses and she picked them up said no and put them down and asked "So what do you want us to do" in a snarky manner. Sorry but that customer service was below average and they could've at least provided other solutions or even temporary ones. Even a better diagnosis of the issues would have sufficed. They are able to do free repairs on eyeglasses/sunglasses which I really appreciate :)) I didn't have to bring in any screws and they were quick and efficient. As for parking there is no specific one for the optometry place just park in the UV. read more

Optometrist is amazing! We have been coming here for my sons glasses for 6 years. My son is 12 now and the optometrist has always been great with him! I also wear glasses and I've been to lens crafters and other eye doctor places I have never seen an eye doctor as awesome! If your child needs glasses definitely come here you will be glad you did! Been going here since they opened up. I would recommend this place to all my friends and coworkers especially when I worked at UCR. The staff was nice and the doctors were awesome. What changed now in 2022? Past two years I've noticed customer service been slacking. No one answers the phones. You have to keep calling to get to someone. Email? Good luck, they told people that email responses are low priority and phone is preferred. Would be great if someone picked up. Turn around time for glasses and contacts are now 3-4 weeks instead of the usual 1-2. I get you guys have more customers as now there's more desks inside the small office space and literally no room to look at frames. But if your customer service is going to suck and turn around times are now that far behind, please stop accepting new patients or hire more staff/find a bigger place. I'm sad because the doctors are amazing but the staff sucks and I won't be coming back. I even paid extra for VSP just so I can keep coming here, but no need for that anymore. read more

I've been living in Riverside for a long time now, but haven't been doing my due diligence with getting my eye exams. When my old optometrist retired, I needed suggestions from others and so many people suggested Eye-C-U. I am so glad they did! I just stopped by one day to schedule an appointment for an eye exam, and someone had missed their appointment so they took me right away! In no time at all, the friendly staff had registered me as a new client and I had been pre-examined while I waited for a few minutes for the doctor. Within a minute or two of being registered in, the doctor came out and showed me to his exam room. The doctor is incredibly friendly and put me at ease immediately. We chatted about my history of eye exams, and he got right to it! He was very helpful, and it was a quick exam. One of the options when I signed in was the get digital retinal imagining--which I hadn't ever had and didn't know if I'd need it. He suggested doing it if I could fit it into my budget ($30) because those images can show him the other 70% of the eye not seen just in exams--and can show you if there are any issues you need to deal with quickly. I opted for it, and when they were done, the doctor walked me through the images and told me that if I transferred to another eye doctor, they could always send them along. After getting my prescription, the doctor led me out to the lobby to work with Valerie to find some frames. She was super helpful and grabbed a bunch of glasses for me to try based off of my preferences that I discussed with her. I ended up getting one of the pairs she suggested, and I love them! She walked me through all the pricing and options for the glasses, which was very welcome. Since they didn't have one of the lenses at the location, they had to send out for it. When I told her that I may be out of town the day they'd be ready for pick up, she said she'd try to get them in quickly. The next day, I received a text that they were already in! My father came here to an eye exam and it was determined that he had severe cataracts and is in dire need of surgery. Since his exam and the recommendation for surgery was determined I have been going back and forth with the staff to get the referral properly processed. It has been very frustrating in working with staff in getting this task completed. I finally decided to get in person to address the issue. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this works out. Convenient location close to home and school. Sadly, my insurance recommended this location, but my insurance was not accepted and I had to pay out of pocket. My eye exam went well, very informative. But my exam information was not filled out entirely, the near and far PD information was not included. There is a space for it, but it was left blank and since I need progressive lens I need that information to purchase glasses anywhere even with them. And the optometrist did that portion of the exam, because he told me he was doing it, unless he forgot to fill it out. I've reached out to the office twice and I have received no response. Also I was advised the receipt for the out of pocket cost would be emailed to me. I have requested that twice as well. Customer service and follow ups are in need of improvement. Disappointed with entire experience especially since I can't move forward with purchasing eye wear I need since I am having trouble seeing... not very optometrist like to leave a customer with impaired vision. On top of that their office is filthy. All of the glasses and cases were covered in gray dust and dust balls. It made my eyes itch. The sitting area was dirty with used Kleenex under a chair and a Juice it up drink that had to have been sitting in the area for days. The drink was separating and changing colors. The chairs were covered in dust and white marks, nothing a good wipe down and vacuuming couldn't take care of. But the fish tank was clean and clear. read more
