This is the first ever negative review I'm leaving for a business on Yelp! I called and ask for a copy of my contacts prescription last Friday; they told me they're gonna mail it out the next day (Saturday) and I will get it within 1-2 days. I called back again on Tuesday since I still hadn't received it, and they sent me another one and I yet have to receive it. But that's not even the worst part. I asked them to fax it to me since I was in a rush and I had mentioned numerous times that I need this prescription immediately only for them to send a fax of the prescription of my glasses! When I called they said they said they don't have a record of me getting a prescription fitting at their office!!!! Which is so weird because I literally have the payment in my bank statement and they had previously mailed me the prescription for my contacts when I initially got it done! They just mistakenly saved it as a prescription for glasses after and no matter how much I explained that the numbers on these two prescriptions are different and why would I go back to get another glasses fitting when I had already picked up my glasses, they did not understand. And now i have to pay again for a fitting because of someone else's mistake!! read more

We selected this optometrist based off of my insurance's recommendation. I was a bit reluctant when I initially saw the older building, but do not be deterred! This place was great! This was my daughter's very first eye doctor appointment and she was a bit nervous. The staff is so patient and kind. My daughter saw Dr. Lauren Nghia, and she was fabulous. She was such a sweet doctor and so caring with my daughter learning that she will now be wearing glasses full time. We also worked with Myrna who helped us with choosing glasses. She was incredibly patient with my girl. I'm very pleased with this optometrist office. Highly recommend! read more

Overall, I like this office. The front staff are very nice and accommondating. Dr Tang is very knowledable and patient. She has wonderful bedside manner. I have multiple pairs of glasses I love and contacts from this office. She even helped me reorder frames when my lens came back too strong. Heres the part i absolutely hate. They upsell like crazy. They attempt to pressure me into buy the same products over and over, no matter the nature of my visit. They also try to push these behind the counter products off on my family members. They always say "the Dr. Said you need this". How can we all need the same thing every single visit? Honestly the expensive upselling of random products has made pleasure visits unbareable. For this reason, i will be moving my family to a different office. Upselling is too aggressive. I was also personally offended they wanted $60 to show me how to put in a contact len. As a first time user buying a year supply, that should have been included. Also dont fall for the contact rebate. Its hard to get and 90% of retailers wouldnt accept the digital visa card given to me. Sigh, the office started to feel money hungry and scammish. Sad, like i said. Worst optometry experience. I happened to be visiting family in the area so I decided to get my contact lens prescription here due to the positive ratings. After my primary visit, Dr. Tang gave me a trial of UNLABLED contact lenses. They tried to sell me these but i refused because I usually buy my lenses online for a lot cheaper. The contacts I was prescribed constantly fell out of my eye from daily wear. When I called and asked for a prescription change, I was told that I would have to pay the full amount again. I drove back to finally pick up a copy of my prescription. I left upset and decided to order the ones i was initially prescribed anyway. To my amazement......the prescription was wrong! The manufacturer and the contact lens series do not match up. I am tired of going back there and wasting my time due to their unprofessionalism. C'mon guys; get your act together....Jeez! Amazing ! I am a single mother of four who is recovering from an injury that requires a walker. The staff here are simply amazing , including the doctor. They had the most patience with my family and myself. Kept asking if I was ok or if I needed anything . My son picked out his own frames with the help of the staff and made the purchase that much pleasant . This staff knows what customer service is and goes up and beyond the minimum to exercise it. They only have one good employee. I went in today trying to explain a problem I had with my glasses and the old lady with damaged hair and split ends was not interested in hearing me out at all and when I tried explain myself she just kept cutting me off. It was clear she was not interested in helping me at all and just kept raising her voice at me with a stank attitude. Going to go back again to get my glasses fixed because that's what they're supposed to do I'm the customer. This place clearly needs customer service training. This is the exact reason why I really love Yejp. By the looks of this place, you aren't sure what to expect. This area of stores is older, dark, not very popular, and you're just not sure about the shops located there. But let me tell you now, this place has superb customer service and they pay attention to detail. My eyes are really important to me and I wanted to purchase new glasses. I attempted to go to Wal-mart vision (off McKinley) to get my glasses frames. They had me speed down to their store 3 times (because I get off of work 30 minutes before they close), each tim I got there I HAD TO START OVER and explain to them what I wanted. I gave them 4 chances... FOUR... for someone to simply help me get glasses and each time, I was not helped!! I was so frustrated. Finally I went on Yelp to find another Optometrist and vision store and I found this store with 5 stars. I called and Mirna helped me the entire time. She was soooo attentive! She called my insurance for me, she kept calling me back to keep in touch with me, letting know what part of the process she was on, she explained to me my insurance coverage, etc. I was FINALLY being helped! I went tonight to show them my glasses frame and she was just as helpful in person as she was over the phone. It's like black and white in difference between the horrible customer service I was given at the other vision place and how well taken care of I was at EyeCare Unlimited. My experience with Eyecare Unlimited has been a great one. Dr. Tang has been my eye doctor for many years now. He really takes the time to thoroughly examine and care for my eyes. Dr. Tang always gets me the perfect prescription for both my contact lenses and eyeglasses. The staff there is very friendly and great with helping you find the best pair of eyewear that will match your style and face. My wife has astigmatism and has seen many eye doctors and tried different brands of contact lenses. She always complained of blurry vision especially with contacts. I can genuinely say that this is the first optometry office I have felt comfortable with. The doctor was super attentive and took the time to explain, in detail, certain issues of possible concern with my eyes. I typically check my eyes once a year as I've worn glasses for the last 5 years. However, the doctor actually lowered my prescription from that of last year l (now I know why I kept getting recurring headachesl). This was also my contact lense fitting after taking a couple of years off from contacts. The doctor recommended a new brand of lenses which feel great so far. The two ladies at the front were quick to check me in/out and they were extremely helpful through the entire visit. Overall, this office is great. Don't go there when there about to close. The front office lady was extremely rude. She didn't extend other frames to choose from rather your choice was from what they had displayed and that choice was slim. So I went a head with the exam and took my prescription to another dr that had a choice of frames and now that my glasses are in the prescription is blurry. Now I have to re-exam and wait another 3 weeks for glasses. This place sucks. They do not deserve any stars. read more

My daughter and I both see dr Minh, my daughter is 4 and gets very impatient. Dr minh is very patient with her and I don't feel rushed when my daughter isn't being cooperative. She is very personable and easy to have a conversation with. The front staff is awesome. Mirna is very helpful!! The fact that they are open Saturdays is a plus. We have always used ZenniOptical.com for our frame needs due to their amazing prices and selection. My Family and I have been a patient of Eyecare Unlimited for 4 Years now, 8 years if you include the previous owner. Sadly though, as of yesterday we are no longer patients of thiers. Dr. Nghia's "care and excitement" for her loyal patients quickly faded when my mother simply asked for her PD measurement. It was as if she had asked for her firstborn child. The entire office staff and their demeanor changed to a cold and unprofessional manner. My mother who is disabled and on a fixed income simply cannot afford a $400 pair of glasses with "carecredit" or not. Dr. Nghia just simply repeated that she would be liable if the PD was not accurate and that it is proprietary information. The ironic thing is we have always asked and received our measurement in the past with no problems. The staff would always provide it with-out hesitation. However this time was different. I do not know what changed. Maybe their are loosing profit and cannot compete with the internet. Whatever it was, we bore the brunt and were penalized by their tactic of hampering my mothers way of saving money and in the end seeing better. It may just be business as usual to her, but then why put on the charade that she actually cares about us and our vision needs for all these years. I can't help but feel her greed for profit outweighed her good judment as a Dr to help her patients. I do not understand the logic of loosing three loyal patients, our friends we've referred, as well this negative review just so you can stifle an low-income elderly women from obtaining affordable glasses. Side Note: After further research, the PD measurement must be inluded on medical records requested from your healthcare professional as it falls under the category of "technical information". Amazing... I have been going here for four years. I have recommended them to everyone I know. Dr. Lauren Tang is very informative. The first time I went here she offers a tests that costed at that time $80 I declined the test. However, she knew something was wrong and did the test and waived the fee. Sure enough she found out my optic nerve was the problem. Mirna is simply amazing. She knows her stuff and can answer all questions you may have. I would never think about going any where else.
