I was the last appointment of the day and they did not rush me at all. I went through some things in 2024 and told them about it. They were open and caring and just wonderful. The eye exam was thorough and informative. Very Good. However, it's taking 5 or 6 weeks to receive 2 pairs of glasses. So, I guess you have to be a very patient person. Cause was first weather and then UPS. Neither are reasonable answers. I've received orders from China in less time. The need to use a different company to order their products from. The east coast is not that far away. Now I have to wait another week! I guess if the glasses do arrive, I'll pick them up, but I would probably look elsewhere for new ones. Too bad! read more

I've never felt so inclined and enthusiastic about going to the optometrist until I visited the Hip Optics clinic. First off, both ladies who manned the front desk were so unbelievably sweet and helpful (on the phone as well!! I've had to call in a couple times regarding appts and have never come across such kind gals such as them - Jennifer was one and can't remember who the other employee was unfortunately) and my doctor, Dr. Cho, was so detailed in explaining what was going on the entire time which I greatly appreciated and again was so knowledgeable and genuinely caring. I am still giving this a one star review. I contacted the office directly twice explaining what had happened and how we had been treated. I asked that a message be related to Dr. Cho and that he contact me if he cared to know how his staff treated us. I still haven't had a call... The reply was just for the sake of his YELP rating. First - educate your staff not to talk about patients where everyone can hear you. It's a HIPPA violation. Second - understand that for IEHP patients price will be the primary factor in selecting glasses. There is no point in allowing my child to select frames that are so far beyond my budget that I cannot even consider adding lenses. Some people actually have to shop by price. Third - teach your employees to help patients select glasses instead of dropping the cases in their laps and then walking away to talk about them. Fourth - don't let patients leave without their prescriptions. Especially when they have told you that they can not afford your prices. We left thinking we were going to be forced to pick from your pathetic selection of what my insurance covered. Fifth- maybe do your homework before responding that the selection is the fault of the insurance provider. Dr. Janet Kohtz on Indiana had an entire wall just for girls and another for boys in the middle were frames that my insurance company would pay part of. Also We don't have to wait the 4-6 weeks your office quoted to receive frames. Your selection and turn around reflects your attitude toward IEHP patients. You don't care to give them the same level of care you do your patients that can afford your ridiculous mark ups on frames. All in all I think less of your business than I did when I left. read more

My daughter referred me here. Dr Ho is amazing. He put me in a new contact brand and a plan of care that eliminates all the eye infections I would run into while seeing a different optometrist. Hip optics is so thorough and careful. I switched from Costco to Hip optics because of the friendliness but the most important benefit of going here is a better eye exam. The Dr. will notice more detail about your eyes and will take time to make sure your RX is accurate. Costco had actually been overprescribing my glasses RX. I was also able to wear contacts from hip optics when I haven't worn them for years because they were measured and prescribed correctly. read more

O M Gee. Lets just say I have found my new optometrist. I cannot give enough props to Dr.Cho and his staff. The atmosphere upon arrival was super relaxed and the front staff were on point with my file and paperwork. The office was neat and tidy and the waiting room couch is beyond comfortable. The entire office is tech savvy, which reduces clutter and makes lens fittings awesome. Dr.Cho is extremely patient and does a great job explaining things to his patients. He's very thorough answering questions. I always had issues being diagnosed for the right prescription for my left eye and the doc went into detail on why that is. He even gave me a guided tour of the back of my eyes. After my appointment, the receptionist helped me pick out my new glasses and was so sweet about it. Most front office team members are always in a rush or not very attentive. I told her what I was looking for and she started pulling lenses for me to try on. Horrible customer service and work. Do not take your glasses in there. Do not buy your glasses from there. H O staff is not knowledgeable enough to offer anything but 3rd rate/ last resort service; that is being kind. I took my glasses in to do a simple tightening and they broke my Oliver Peoples with progressive, all the bells and whistles etc. and I'm legally blind. They handed my glasses back to me in two pieces. And, said "whoops, sorry". I have been unable to read etc since. They offered to do nothing. Absolutely no accountability. I called back later after professional advice and asked if they intended on offering anything. The owner told me to go to Frame Doctors, didn't even offer to fix until I explained that they are to be accountable. This place does not hold themselves to a high standard, or any quality of standard in attitude or management. The owner finally offered to pay for the mending, however Frame Works is unable to fix. I am sol, and they could care less. In fact one of the young inexperience girls was giggling as she explained what she did to my glasses. Those are my eyes you are laughing about young lady. The place is dirty and unkept. I had no business taking my glasses in there as the world had not shown me the irresponsibility or experience as hot optics introduced me too. Never before have I been met with such unprofessionalism. Had the cards been turned around, I would have offered to replace frame. Knowing that was the right action and I would be establishing a new customer. My husband and myself get new glasses every other year. Customer service is number one in any service business. I am in total disbelieve of how things easily escalted here. This is not upon Dr. Cho, but rather his employees Rashid and Yaddi. First of all, my entire family and myself have been patients for many years of Dr. Cho and never had to experience such thing that I recently did with these two employees. Rashid has no customer service experience whatsoever. He has repeatedly been rude and sent an email that made no sense. It all started with Yaddi promising a package to be deliever on a certain date, but rather took an extra date. I can understand that the delivery is not always accurate, but NEVER promise an item to someone who is not from the area and needs to travel 8 hrs to go home. Yaddi promised the item to come in "Wednesday, but forusre Thursday" and the contacts came in Friday. After this incident occurred the company wanted to charge $25 for the items to be delivered to the correct place which I was not happy about so I went ahead and spoke with the manager, Rashid. He said it was not their fault that the contacts arrived late so he would only charge us $15. We went ahead and paid the the $15. When the items (right side of contacts & a solution) were received, we went ahead and spoke with Rashid. He said he packed the package himself and swears he put the left side of contacts there. He even made us take pictures and send them to his email to see what was delivered. He was so arrogant to say a box is missing and to make sure we put the second box in the pic. Rashid, if there was the second box, what is the point of even calling you? Please explain yourself. He was very nasty calling me a liar and said vice versa to me when I said, are you seriously calling me a liar?" And was angry over the phone. This has to be the worst experience I have ever experienced with anyone. read more

I've had some pretty traumatic eye experiences in the past, so visiting the eye doctor tends to give me some anxiety. Dr. Cho is super friendly, gentle, patient, and thorough and will answer any questions you might have. Everyone I know who has visited him only has great things to say. You won't be disappointed! I had my eye exam in October 2021. The doctors and staff were very professional and friendly. I got a call a few days later telling me one of my glasses frames was on backorder and wouldn't be in until December. I was given a loaner pair in a different color until mine arrived. Who does that! I called occasionally to get updates. My last call I spoke with Rashid Payne the office manager. He orders all the frames and moved mountains over the next few weeks to get my frames. I highly recommend this practice to everyone. They follow all covid protocols to keep everyone safe. Thanks for everything! See you next year. read more

I've been a patient here for a couple years and I am so happy with every pair of glasses I have received, also they have super affordable prices. I've never had an issue with pricing. Of course you have to take your insurance plan in consideration as to what they cover. Even then they work with you, the staff is amazing and all very helpful. I would recommend to everyone! Watch out for the surprise $100 eye exam fee....i'v been going to this place for 3 years....Their explanation for the hundred dollars is because they use a special camera to check your eyes ..... it's the same camera every other optometrist uses.....But they won't tell you about that up front they tell you that when you're checking out..... the frames prices are outrageous they totally mark up the prices....do yourself a favor and look elsewhere....this business has no problem over charging you.... I was looking for a new place to get glasses and contacts, so I thought I would try this office since it was close to home. The first thing they approached me with was that the doctor "required" two additional tests costing approximately $30 each. It was not covered by insurance. I asked to opt out, but they said the doctor required it. I advised I didn't need those tests because my Kaiser insurance covered Opthalmology. The assistant was rude and replied that they are new and were required. I have never had any optometry office require this, so I told them to cancel my appointment and walked out. I would not recommend coming to this office, it was an overall terrible experience. read more

Dr Cho and his staff are great. I loved how thorough he was during my eye exam. I don't have any eye issues and I felt confident that he was perfectly evaluating my eyes. He asks questions to get to know you and the next time you come in he mentions those topics. He's really a cool doctor and he bonds with his patients. I am giving this place 5 stars because they were able to help me when a previous eye doctor could not. I went to a different doctor for my vision exam and expressed I wanted contacts being I never wore them before someone would have to train me only she was in once a week which did not with with my with schedule. So I face Hip Optics a call to see if they had any availability and they did. I walked in with my prescription and they were able to assist me with my sunglasses frames, glasses and contacts.
