We used Exxel Termite for a termite inspection bc we were in escrow. The guy they sent walked around the outside of my home with a broom stick with a metal point and he damaged the ply wood. They claim its free if there's no termites. They wanted to charge $700, $325 for the certificate and the guy did such sloppy work. He filled the plywood with wood filler and painted over it. He didn't care to put some newspaper down, he got white paint on my brown jacuzzi cover and on my cement blocks around my plants. Total disregard for my property. Also the office manager Nadia Flores is so unprofessional and unpleasant, we tried to talk to her but she talked over me. Buyers beware do not give them business. read more

Exxel came out and gave an estimate on termite work that needed to be done Before we sold our house, Three weeks ago. The technician took every shortcut possible doing the work Exxel said had to be done. And it shows big time. It was supposed to be done in three days. We're going on day 5 and it's 3:44 pm. The technician was supposed to be here before 1:00. He called at 3:00 asking if he can come tomorrow. I've been without a shower for four days. Escrow closes in three days and the work is still not complete. Not one supervisor has been out to monitor his work. As a customer, I shouldn't have to go behind their technician to make sure he's doing a professional job. Being a contractor myself, I would not do business with this company. Like other reviews said, if I can give them 0 star I would do it in a heart beat. I got into escrow as a buyer and the seller said they will do the repairs. I was coming by days and nights to check and even the neighbors told me the same. Noone really showed up but they emailed the clearance. This is very unethical. This review is solely on their assistant, Irma, whom needs to be trained on customer service. I contacted them in January for an inspection and they were very prompt with the request and came several days after. They were quick with the report, but due to the lunar new year stigmas, I could not proceed until after the new year had passed. After all my personal events settled down, I contacted them again. The inspector, Johnny, was very prompt to my texts and said the office would contact me. I did not hear from the company and so I contacted them myself via email. Still no response, so I contacted Johnny again and he reassured me he would get the office on it. Never heard from them until a week later. Irma texted me asking if I would like to proceed and I informed her that I never received word back from their office about my request the week prior, so I am pursuing another company. I was still considering Exxel because of their price and probably would have hired them to fumigate my house, but it's Irma's response that deterred me. In a professional setting, all you have to say is "I apologize that our contacts have slipped through the cracks and reassure you that it would not happen again. How could I help for you to proceed?" Instead, she brings up dates that she contacted me, how I didn't respond and how Johnny hasn't heard from me. I showed her my texts with Johnny and my email that I sent and she addresses only the email, which leads me to believe you didn't communicate with Johnny before confirming allegations. All other contacts with Exxel have been very professional, except for my contact with Irma. Please properly train Irma on how to professionally respond to messages from potential clients. read more

Told me I needed only a couple of spot treatments and some patch work to replace some dry rot. The final report came back showing way more than a couple of spots to be corrected and tried to charge me $1800 to replace wood that was not dry rotted. I had another licensed company come and take a look and verify all the incorrect inspection results. I have never left a negative yelp review before this but I am so disappointed in this company, I wanted to save anyone from making the same mistake we did. We hired this company for a home termite inspection during escrow on our first home. The company offered a free inspection which is why we chose them but it ended up being a disaster. They gave us a report saying we had NO termites. We had quite a few other issues with the house however, so the seller gave us a credit for the other inspections that needed repair. AFTER we moved into the house and closed escrow, we had a pest control contractor come to rectify a rodent issue in the house and he passed by the huge rafters in front of our house and he told us there is a huge termite farm living in them. We let him know there were no termites because Exxel Termite gave us a report saying we had no termites, it was merely dry rot. So the pest control contractor gave one of the rafters a prod and a handful of termite pellets fell out!! He did the same to the other rafters and dirt from subterranean termites fell out!! The crazy part is he was here for pest control and even he could tell we had termites. He showed us that not only do we have dry rot termites but we also have subterranean termites! So we had 2 more companies come out to triple check for termites and they ALL said we very obviously have termites and the rafters are about to collapse at any moment. Mind you these rafters are holding up our roof! Now we are stuck having to pay $4,000 to tent our home and pump the floor with termiticides. On top of that, we have to replace all of the beams immediately which we were quoted $9,000!! We are devastated. Especially because we could have received a credit during escrow for these repairs if we would've hired a different termite company. We called Exxel to see what they could do to make it right. They said they would only come out to re-inspect the property (which is pointless since we already know we have termites) but they would not give us any kind of discount for services. We would rather not have Exxel working on our house at this point but we expected them to at least consider paying for some, if not all, of the damage they are responsible for missing during their inspection. Extremely disappointed in this company and their values. So here's what we've learned: 1. This company doesn't know how to do their job correctly 2. This company is not willing to stand behind their work We have now reached out the Structural Pest Control Commission to report them and may be taking them to small claims court. The staff I spoke with did not have a good attitude, and I felt like they were trying to get me off the phone as fast as they could. The email correspondence felt similar. I'm concerned for this business. They are bribing me for a positive review by giving me movie tickets. It is possible that some of the positive reviews were influenced by whatever they were offering at the time. 3 years later I had another termite company checkout my house and they had pointed out work Exxel company did not follow through with. So if you are not familiar with termite work, then you might be scammed and they will not fulfill all the work they had vaguely said they would do... And as an update They came back and checked out the work and still said their unfinished work would cost me money. Overall, I had a good experience with this company. In the beginning, there were some minor hiccups when scheduling a termite inspector to see my property, but that was resolved rather quickly. My review consists mainly with my interaction with termite inspector, Johnny. In my experience, Johnny was very professional, respectful, and transparent from the very beginning (which I very much appreciated). During the termite inspection, Johnny was open to questions and he went over his findings with clear explanations. He took the time to go over each of his findings at a time and made sure that I understood each item (that was another big plus) During the actual termite work, Johnny went right to work while being always respectful. After his job was completed, Johnny gave me his contact info to reach him in case there were any issues. Overall, Johnny was pretty confident on the work he did, and I can tell that Johnny really enjoys doing his job. My advice to management: give Johnny a raise! read more

They were very punctual on arrival time which was great for me. When the fumigation process was over they were very punctual on arrival time as well. I had the same poor experience as referenced by other yelpers Brian, Maria, and Jasmin. Exxel came out to do wood repairs after tenting. They brought scraps (literally used wood), did a terrible job replacing beams, and missed multiple spots. I specifically asked the employee to replace an entire beam that was directly in right of my front entry way and he proceeded to cut it in half and do a sloppy job instead. When complaining about the service they jump straight to threatening to put a lien on your house unless you pay. Terrible service. Nadia is terrible. Wood repairs are a total over priced scam. My contractor redid all the work, correctly for half the price. UPDATE: I only posted this 11 minutes ago and I've already received a threatening email from Nadia that she's going to do an exposé about what really happened! Here is what happened. The came out. Did repairs. Work was shoddy. Called them to complain. They sent someone out. He agreed the work was "embarrassing". I told him I would hire a professional to do it since they obviously don't. Nadia proceeds to call and ask for payment. I tell her I'll pay for the gas, tenting and materials but I'm not paying for the man-hours since he didn't do the work well. She "calculated" the wood cost (a few 2x4s) at about $600. I told her I wasn't paying $600 for some 2x4s and she threatened to put a lien on my house. They are VERY upset that my contractor did a better job at a cheaper price. They keep bringing it up as if I dishonored them by not letting them do more poor work for double the price. My experience with this company has been nothing short of horrible. I was the buyer on a property where they were doing the tenting and termite repair work. We were delayed to close escrow because they couldn't get the job done quickly enough. They were so far behind that we had to close escrow with the repair work still undone and only having the home tented. No big deal. Except that was over a month ago and the repairs are STILL not completed. The crew was supposed to come the Saturday morning after we closed escrow to do the repair work. Instead of showing up at 10am, they showed up at 4pm and said they wouldn't be able to do it all that day, but that they would come back tomorrow. They got on a ladder in my garage, cut out the damaged wood, then left...leaving their mess behind them. I had to clean up their wood shavings, cut boards and they also left a pile of wood in the garage. We have tried to schedule them and the first excuse was that there was an "illness in the family" which is why they didn't respond to us for 2 weeks. Then another week went by and I called them myself (realtors were handling previous calls/scheduling). I had an appointment scheduled for TODAY (7/16/16) and was given a time window of 8:30a-9a. Perfect!! Yesterday I get a phone call from an office person at the end of the day, apologizing that they had to reschedule the appointment that we had yesterday (we didn't have an appointment for yesterday, we had one for today). They offered me one time slot for today, which was the date of my original appointment. The time slot wasn't going to work, but whatever...I need this to be done with. I called back as soon as I could but since they called me at the end of the business day, I couldn't get through to someone. I left a VM reminding them about our originally scheduled appointment but they were a no-show. I know that I'm not local to them, but if my house is too far away, they should never have taken the job in the first place. I'm sure some people have a good experience with them, but I for one would never use them again. I work in real estate and encourage all of my realtor people to steer clear of this company as they are not reliable to finish the job that they started. Update: their crew showed up several hours late and we were not home. What did they do?? They climbed into the garage through an open window, opened the garage and just started working without calling to request access. We were around the corner at a neighbors house and had no idea they showed up. It was to my surprise when I pulled up in the driveway, saw the garage door wide open and guys working away. They replaced the door to the water heater, then painted it with a rag. I spent over $3500, and I still don't know what we got for that. The second worker came out to check our deck as there is an issue with tenting. And I never heard from them! So I called the office and gave them my address asking for an update on my quote. When it came time to schedule tenting I found out the company had gone out of business. I found Exxel on Yelp. They were able to schedule the fumigation within a few days to coincide with a holiday weekend so I had time to find a place to go. Best of all the cost was less than the original company's estimate. The wood repairs are beautiful and do not look spliced in. They corrected everything they found that need repair, or I pointed out, without trying to up the price. Further, they told us no need to tent and then told the buyer's that they highly recommend that they tent. Apparently, they work on commission. I wish we would have read the Yelp reviews before we proceeded. Lesson learned. The gentlemen who made the repairs were nice and professional. They charged $1300 for demo of a patio, in addition to $3750 for tenting and termite work on a house. When all work was done, the brick pillars of the patio were still there. Never did they state they would leave the pillars. The patio includes the pillars and we agreed on demo of the full patio. I brought out another demo guy and he would have charged $1800 for the whole thing, of which $300 is for the wood removal that Exxel Termite charged $1300. Therefore, they overcharged us by a $1000. This is the 3rd house we did with Exxel. We had problems with each one. Had the 3 transactions not been closing concurrently, I would have not chosen Exxel. read more
