I did the inevitable tedious job of checking reviews, making calls and answering the same questions over and over. I was dreading the cost and the inconvenience of how long I thought the tenting process would take...so I thought. When I called Speedy's Termite Control, I spoke with Robert. Immediately, I was put at ease. His passion for his work and his business was beyond evident. After receiving some preliminary information about my concern and the size of my houses (front house had termites and back house for precaution), he explained the tenting process from start to finish - he personally would make a visit to verify the termites and assess the damage, explained the gases that would be used and how they worked, his warranty, the length of time I would need to be out of the house, the process involving the gas company, and requirements for pre and post tenting which included how to protect my food. I was even privileged to hear why Robert established his termite business. Makes sense to me! You're hired. I wish I personally knew more people that need termite tenting service. Sometimes you have to give a review not because of the work they did, but because of the work they didn't do. In the particular instance, Robert and Vanessa continually proved themselves to be a business with morals and a conscience - which is a rarity these days to choose people over profit. Background: I initially reached out to them because I was having issues with Terminix at our rental property (we had a service plan with them - which I advise to no one, they are horrible) and were desperate to get a termite issue remediated. I had reached out to see if they could come out, do and inspection and then treat the house...but you know what Robert said? He said, no - not because he didn't want to do the work, but because what we had asked for was inaccurate based on the direction from Terminix, and he suggested that we make them liable and responsible, which we did...and we're still dealing with. But this was easily an opportunity for them to just say yes, do the work. and then get paid. But they do the right thing then take advantage of a situation. Cut to today... Once again, at our house now, and due to some paranoia and anxiety from our rental property, I saw flying termites outside and reached out to Robert and Vanessa to schedule an inspection, and they asked me to send photos of what I saw, then tried to reassure me that it was okay, it's the season, and we should expect to see them outside, but because I am paranoid now, I insisted on an inspection, which they said they would and scheduled me for the first available. I believe inspections are complimentary, so I know that they are investing their time for potentially no immediate payout (but they did make a huge fan and evangelist in the making), and will only suggest things that are necessary because seem like a business run on integrity and honesty. Either way, 10 out of 10 would recommend them to anyone. read more

Robert was friendly and professional during his inspection. all was explained in detail to prepare for our fumigation. on the day of, the team was also helpful and ensured all was ready for the tenting before we left. since we did not shop around, we cannot say if pricing was competitive. however, the price was much lower than expected, and there was never a push for services we didn't need. Speedy is literally name of the company and i sent a request and robert came out the next day, gave an estimate and started work a few days later that same week. We had some trees and shrubs that were blocking the tent so he had a gardener come out and cut everything and was able to tent as original schedule. I really appreciate robert honesty and straight forward communication and he kept me updated. To Speedy Termite, there is no point in contacting you since the damage is done--to my home; during the two visits by Robert, there was no real inspection just collecting money and a quick spurt of bora-care with a personable smile. I was duped. I have since had the house tented by a different company and have researched the Bora-Care treatment only (which by the way only costs $100 on Amazon) to find out it does not treat drywood infestations and needed to be applied evenly to the wood--which it was not. read more

The owner responded to my quote request on Yelp super quickly. She got me in touch with the technician who specialized in my queries. Basically I was looking at half day turnover of scheduling an appointment 3 days out (Western Exterminator and many other local companies charge $50-80 for inspection and respond less quickly and/or cannot get to you for at least 2 days to 2 weeks). I ended up resolving the issue with a faster responding company with better availability but the technician here also said if anything else, feel free to still go with a second opinion and they'd match the price from the other company. It turned out I didn't have as big a pest problem as I feared but if I did I'd probably go with this company. Everyone was very caring and polite and they offer green/eco conscious options!! This is a big deal for me in the area, as you will notice of dozens of local companies that literally this is the only one who offers green solutions. They operate their business mindfully in ways other pest businesses should model from their customer service to the technical aspects. Of course it depends on your issue and the professional usually determines if the green option is viable for your problem. But just glad it's an option. Even though their appointment for an inspection wasn't immediate I felt the conversation with the technician Vince really helped because he was knowledgeable and listened and this was the only company I didn't mind waiting 3 days for because they quelled my anxieties (pests are called pests for a reason). It was understandable because they're a local small business who are very booked but were still not too busy to figure out my problem as much as possible over the phone before the inspection. read more

Mr. Robert Tienda is by-far one of the best exterminators I have ever known of. He inspected my primary house in Fountain Valley on 9/24/2018 and provided a professional opinion with several options that could help us to get rid of all termites found in the garage attic and the shed. Eventually we made a decision to fumigate the 2-story house. Also, Robert himself helped us to spray wet Bora-Care in the attic, garage, poolhouse, and the shed as a preventative method after the fumigation. We called Speedy's Termite after getting quotes from 2 other companies. Robert came out and he was very professional and informative.
