Initially, this was supposed to be an "In between" our quarterly visits, because we found some ants in our Master bathroom and front door, but we just moved up our quarterly service. This is one of the top reasons why I like Homeshield, the reassurance that if I find ants, they will do an "in between" service call! Today I had Joel come to spray for ants I've been finding in several rooms in my house. He was very patient and provided answers to all my questions. He took his time and sprayed both inside and outside and reassured me that if I saw anymore ants they would be happy to come back out and retreat. I am so relieved I have HSPC because I don't worry about ants anymore. I now just have peace of mind that no matter what, they are there to assist me with the problems. Trinidad from HomeShield was very helpful, a good listener, and responsive to our needs. We asked him to cover the front shrubs for mealybugs because it's been a new problem, and he did so. He seemed to do a more complete job in the backyard than has been done recently, and we appreciate it. Our home has one outside wall that is an easement only accessible behind our neighbor's gate. We still want this area sprayed, and it requires the technician to ring the neighbor's doorbell before going into their backyard. Trinidad did it as others before him. But it would be great if this were noted on our account so that we didn't have to explain it each time a new technician comes out. Maybe we'll get to keep Trinidad! read more

While the technician was very nice (I don't feel a need to call him out by name since I'm sure he's just following the company's instructions), here's why HomeShield earned 2 stars....let me walk you through everything.... I did receive a phone call when the technician was on his way, as promised. The inspection was thorough- it took close to an hour so he definitely didn't rush through it. So, why two stars? At the end of the inspection, the technician showed me the areas, images, etc. I knew what was going on as this was my second inspection in two days. You see, I always get a few quotes for home repairs/maintenance- who doesn't?! Once the technician got through all the monthly/quarterly/yearly upsells HomeShield has, I would've had to taken out a second mortgage on my house! I was simply looking for termite inspection and treatment. After I told the inspector I had another quote and it was much lower, he tried to price match it, but he started pressing for the company name, what treatment they were offering, and then the technician started naming other companies to see if it was them. I wouldn't answer. It felt very pushy. Since then, they've followed up two or three times via email over the course of a week. It's a bit much for my personal liking. #sadface read more

We originally contacted HomeShield for an ant infestation. The technician came out, took care of the ants, and our home has been ant free since then. We then scheduled a termite inspection and just had the treatment done yesterday. Riccardo was professional and efficient and friendly. Wood repair to replace the damaged fascia boards is scheduled for tomorrow. I dealt with other pest control services before I went with HomeShield. I called for service due to ongoing bugs and spiderwebs after their service and they sent someone to service my house while I was out. After I came back I noticed spiderwebs around my kids windows were not cleaned. So yet again, I went and did it myself. A week later the person who serviced our house called to follow up. When I told them we still had spiderwebs they lost their cool and professionalism. The technician interrupted me multiple times during the call. At the end of the day, I am still having issues with spiders, and rather than trying to work with me to understand the problem and improve the service, I was lectured about what the company "can't do." I am paying for a service that is supposed to include the removal of spider webs, yet the webs are still not being fully removed. I offered to share photos showing exactly where the issues are, but instead of listening and trying to address the concern, the technician became rude, dismissive, and argumentative. That kind of attitude is unacceptable from someone speaking with a paying customer. I sincerely hope the call was recorded and that someone at the company reviews it. This is exactly how businesses lose customers -- and unfortunately, you have lost mine. read more

Tech came out right away and solved the ant problem. He suggested a gel that could be taken back to the queen. It seems to have worked.

I'm very disappointed with my experience using this pest control company for wood repair and prevention work. What was originally supposed to be completed in about a week has now dragged on for nearly a month with no clear end in sight. The quality of the work done so far has been subpar -- the wood was not properly painted or sealed to prevent dry rot, the paint coverage is inconsistent and patchy, joints were left unfilled, and some of the wood is chipped. To make matters worse, because the project remains unfinished, they left additional wood materials outside in the rain. This raises serious concerns about future issues with the integrity of the wood once it's finally installed. Our point of contact, Nik, has done his part to help up as much as possible and been great to work with but unfortunately the issues we experienced are because of the company and not something he has control over. Fumigation went smoothly but that was outsourced to another company. Overall, the lack of timeliness, poor workmanship, and disregard for proper material care have made this a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this company based on my experience so far. read more

While the staff at Homeshield Pest Control have always been pleasant and I appreciate their use of natural treatments, I've been extremely disappointed with their lack of support in resolving our ongoing mice problem. Over the past two years, we've spent a significant amount of money with Homeshield to replace attic insulation and treat our home for rodent mites caused by repeated mouse infestations. Our insulation warranty was supposed to include service to prevent mice from re-entering the attic, yet new openings continue to appear and remain unaddressed. Each time an inspection is done, it takes weeks to schedule a follow-up appointment to actually seal the openings. Recently, after hearing mice again--now with a newborn in our home--we contacted Homeshield immediately. A technician quickly confirmed there were openings near our A/C line that needed to be patched, but for two weeks we were told they couldn't schedule the repair because the technician hadn't submitted the required diagram. When an appointment was finally scheduled, no repair was done--only additional traps were placed in the attic. After escalating the issue, we were told a manager could come re-inspect the home, but not until nearly a month after the initial report. At this point, I'm frustrated by the lack of follow-through and the amount of time I've had to spend chasing updates. We are simply not receiving the service promised under our insulation warranty and monthly maintenance plan, and we will likely be switching vendors soon. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend Homeshield Pest Control. read more
