While the staff at Homeshield Pest Control have always been pleasant and I appreciate their use of natural treatments, I've been extremely disappointed with their lack of support in resolving our ongoing mice problem. Over the past two years, we've spent a significant amount of money with Homeshield to replace attic insulation and treat our home for rodent mites caused by repeated mouse infestations. Our insulation warranty was supposed to include service to prevent mice from re-entering the attic, yet new openings continue to appear and remain unaddressed. Each time an inspection is done, it takes weeks to schedule a follow-up appointment to actually seal the openings. Recently, after hearing mice again--now with a newborn in our home--we contacted Homeshield immediately. A technician quickly confirmed there were openings near our A/C line that needed to be patched, but for two weeks we were told they couldn't schedule the repair because the technician hadn't submitted the required diagram. When an appointment was finally scheduled, no repair was done--only additional traps were placed in the attic. After escalating the issue, we were told a manager could come re-inspect the home, but not until nearly a month after the initial report. At this point, I'm frustrated by the lack of follow-through and the amount of time I've had to spend chasing updates. We are simply not receiving the service promised under our insulation warranty and monthly maintenance plan, and we will likely be switching vendors soon. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend Homeshield Pest Control. read more

While the technician was very nice (I don't feel a need to call him out by name since I'm sure he's just following the company's instructions), here's why HomeShield earned 2 stars....let me walk you through everything.... I did receive a phone call when the technician was on his way, as promised. The inspection was thorough- it took close to an hour so he definitely didn't rush through it. So, why two stars? At the end of the inspection, the technician showed me the areas, images, etc. I knew what was going on as this was my second inspection in two days. You see, I always get a few quotes for home repairs/maintenance- who doesn't?! Once the technician got through all the monthly/quarterly/yearly upsells HomeShield has, I would've had to taken out a second mortgage on my house! I was simply looking for termite inspection and treatment. After I told the inspector I had another quote and it was much lower, he tried to price match it, but he started pressing for the company name, what treatment they were offering, and then the technician started naming other companies to see if it was them. I wouldn't answer. It felt very pushy. Since then, they've followed up two or three times via email over the course of a week. It's a bit much for my personal liking. #sadface read more

I called for service due to ongoing bugs and spiderwebs after their service and they sent someone to service my house while I was out. After I came back I noticed spiderwebs around my kids windows were not cleaned. So yet again, I went and did it myself. A week later the person who serviced our house called to follow up. When I told them we still had spiderwebs they lost their cool and professionalism. The technician interrupted me multiple times during the call. At the end of the day, I am still having issues with spiders, and rather than trying to work with me to understand the problem and improve the service, I was lectured about what the company "can't do." I am paying for a service that is supposed to include the removal of spider webs, yet the webs are still not being fully removed. I offered to share photos showing exactly where the issues are, but instead of listening and trying to address the concern, the technician became rude, dismissive, and argumentative. That kind of attitude is unacceptable from someone speaking with a paying customer. I sincerely hope the call was recorded and that someone at the company reviews it. This is exactly how businesses lose customers -- and unfortunately, you have lost mine. read more

Initial sales call was promising. Unfortunately the inspector was off his rocker. The house has been completely renovated including any wood repairs that were previously needed due to age - so picture newly renovated house. Well, the inspector wants to charge me close to $5K for supposed wood damage, two full days worth of work. What a scam. read more

I'm very disappointed with my experience using this pest control company for wood repair and prevention work. What was originally supposed to be completed in about a week has now dragged on for nearly a month with no clear end in sight. The quality of the work done so far has been subpar -- the wood was not properly painted or sealed to prevent dry rot, the paint coverage is inconsistent and patchy, joints were left unfilled, and some of the wood is chipped. To make matters worse, because the project remains unfinished, they left additional wood materials outside in the rain. This raises serious concerns about future issues with the integrity of the wood once it's finally installed. Our point of contact, Nik, has done his part to help up as much as possible and been great to work with but unfortunately the issues we experienced are because of the company and not something he has control over. Fumigation went smoothly but that was outsourced to another company. Overall, the lack of timeliness, poor workmanship, and disregard for proper material care have made this a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this company based on my experience so far. read more

Matthew Henry was outstanding. Because of his outstanding work, we've requested to have Matthew continue to maintain our quarterly pest control service. He was thorough in inspecting the exterior of our home and the interior of our garage for service needs and proceeded to service these areas, such as the eaves and spider issues. He concentrated on the rat and mice issue and serviced the rat stations and replaced rat glue traps in the garage. He listened to my primary concerns: rats and mice control and took care of the matters. He sprayed the exterior perimeter of my home and grass area with great detail. They called about 20-30 minutes before arriving, which made it easy to prepare. They also brought shoe covers, which I really appreciated since it helped keep the house clean. Very disappointing experience with Home Shield Pest Control. I contacted them for a rodent issue in my condo, and the technician, Nikolaus, even acknowledged that in an HOA, this typically requires owner approval, especially for attic work. Despite that, they still had me sign a one year contract. No one ever went into the attic, and they only came out twice for a few minutes to check bait boxes, yet I was charged $400. There was also a strong push to upsell services totaling nearly $10,000, which felt excessive given my situation as a renter. When I realized I needed to go through my HOA/owner, I canceled and was charged a $150 early cancellation fee. I was told I'd receive a partial refund...it briefly appeared on my credit card, then was reversed and charged again without explanation. Overall, not transparent and very frustrating. Renters in HOAs should be cautious before signing anything!! read more

Worst experience you could imagine. I had booked a Boracare treatment for termites. They never showed up and claimed there was no appointment although I was given a time window and made the payment. They have multiple phone numbers, schedulers, clerks, etc. and nobody seems to know what's booked and when. Also very hard to get in touch with anybody there. Sometimes nobody picks up the phone for hrs on end. Looks like nobody's in charge. Prepare to waste days waiting for them. I would strongly recommend a different company. read more
