This review is for Nikolaus the technician who came to our home to inspect and quote the price for fumigation and miscellaneous treatments. He did a great job looking for termites infestation and explaining the different types of drywood termites vs subterranean. He also sent us videos explaining how to prepare for fumigation and discussed the different local treatment options and wood repair. Overall, he did a good job educating us in an area we were unfamiliar with. Unfortunately, the total quote was a bit too much for our tight budget. We went with another vendor but would consider Homeshield for future use since they seem like a good quality service. read more

While the staff at Homeshield Pest Control have always been pleasant and I appreciate their use of natural treatments, I've been extremely disappointed with their lack of support in resolving our ongoing mice problem. Over the past two years, we've spent a significant amount of money with Homeshield to replace attic insulation and treat our home for rodent mites caused by repeated mouse infestations. Our insulation warranty was supposed to include service to prevent mice from re-entering the attic, yet new openings continue to appear and remain unaddressed. Each time an inspection is done, it takes weeks to schedule a follow-up appointment to actually seal the openings. Recently, after hearing mice again--now with a newborn in our home--we contacted Homeshield immediately. A technician quickly confirmed there were openings near our A/C line that needed to be patched, but for two weeks we were told they couldn't schedule the repair because the technician hadn't submitted the required diagram. When an appointment was finally scheduled, no repair was done--only additional traps were placed in the attic. After escalating the issue, we were told a manager could come re-inspect the home, but not until nearly a month after the initial report. At this point, I'm frustrated by the lack of follow-through and the amount of time I've had to spend chasing updates. We are simply not receiving the service promised under our insulation warranty and monthly maintenance plan, and we will likely be switching vendors soon. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend Homeshield Pest Control. read more

While the technician was very nice (I don't feel a need to call him out by name since I'm sure he's just following the company's instructions), here's why HomeShield earned 2 stars....let me walk you through everything.... I did receive a phone call when the technician was on his way, as promised. The inspection was thorough- it took close to an hour so he definitely didn't rush through it. So, why two stars? At the end of the inspection, the technician showed me the areas, images, etc. I knew what was going on as this was my second inspection in two days. You see, I always get a few quotes for home repairs/maintenance- who doesn't?! Once the technician got through all the monthly/quarterly/yearly upsells HomeShield has, I would've had to taken out a second mortgage on my house! I was simply looking for termite inspection and treatment. After I told the inspector I had another quote and it was much lower, he tried to price match it, but he started pressing for the company name, what treatment they were offering, and then the technician started naming other companies to see if it was them. I wouldn't answer. It felt very pushy. Since then, they've followed up two or three times via email over the course of a week. It's a bit much for my personal liking. #sadface read more

I called for our buddy he had a ant's & tiny creatures and I called Home Shield Pest Control And they answered right away + already they were able to come out the next day+ and the Oliver was great at helping me since there has been construction with our buddies home And everything on flooring was done. Matthew Henry was outstanding. Because of his outstanding work, we've requested to have Matthew continue to maintain our quarterly pest control service. He was thorough in inspecting the exterior of our home and the interior of our garage for service needs and proceeded to service these areas, such as the eaves and spider issues. He concentrated on the rat and mice issue and serviced the rat stations and replaced rat glue traps in the garage. He listened to my primary concerns: rats and mice control and took care of the matters. He sprayed the exterior perimeter of my home and grass area with great detail. He explained the use of the chemicals he was using to spray and educated me on their overall purpose and satisfaction of their use by his other customers. read more

I'm very disappointed with my experience using this pest control company for wood repair and prevention work. What was originally supposed to be completed in about a week has now dragged on for nearly a month with no clear end in sight. The quality of the work done so far has been subpar -- the wood was not properly painted or sealed to prevent dry rot, the paint coverage is inconsistent and patchy, joints were left unfilled, and some of the wood is chipped. To make matters worse, because the project remains unfinished, they left additional wood materials outside in the rain. This raises serious concerns about future issues with the integrity of the wood once it's finally installed. Our point of contact, Nik, has done his part to help up as much as possible and been great to work with but unfortunately the issues we experienced are because of the company and not something he has control over. Fumigation went smoothly but that was outsourced to another company. Overall, the lack of timeliness, poor workmanship, and disregard for proper material care have made this a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this company based on my experience so far. read more

Very disappointing experience with Home Shield Pest Control. I contacted them for a rodent issue in my condo, and the technician, Nikolaus, even acknowledged that in an HOA, this typically requires owner approval, especially for attic work. Despite that, they still had me sign a one year contract. No one ever went into the attic, and they only came out twice for a few minutes to check bait boxes, yet I was charged $400. There was also a strong push to upsell services totaling nearly $10,000, which felt excessive given my situation as a renter. When I realized I needed to go through my HOA/owner, I canceled and was charged a $150 early cancellation fee. I was told I'd receive a partial refund...it briefly appeared on my credit card, then was reversed and charged again without explanation. Overall, not transparent and very frustrating. Renters in HOAs should be cautious before signing anything!! read more

I had an issue with my initial appointment, but the company followed up quickly and sent out Darrell Montague and Randy Basa to take care of the inspection. They called about 20-30 minutes before arriving, which made it easy to prepare. They also brought shoe covers, which I really appreciated since it helped keep the house clean. Both Darrell and Randy were professional, thorough, and respectful. They checked everything from inside the house to the exterior and even the attic, and they explained what they were looking for in a clear and helpful way. Everyone has been Good, however, Adrian was / is Great. He spent 5 hours working here. He started in the hot attic and then a few hours on the roof a few more around the outside of the house and he finished in the crawl space under the house. He never stopped working except when I bothered his with various questions. Homeshield should be happy to have Adrian as a team member as I was very impressed as was my wife (who is much tougher than me). I look forward to his revisit next Thursday or Friday. We have been customers of HomeShield Pest Control since May of 2023 because of issues with brown widows and mosquitos. I have sometimes wondered if the bucket that they claim to address the mosquito issue was actually affective. Today my suspicions were confirmed when we receive a charge of $80 by e-mail for services rendered this morning. I explained that I had been in the area of the backyard all morning and no one had been here. I received the explanation that it was an outside service that had been completed, so I checked the mosquito bucket and found that it was covered with leaves and had not been touched, which I informed the company. Soon afterwards the service person showed up to do the work that he had claimed to have already completed. I told him to remove the bucket because we would be canceling our account. read more

called service because I heard something (mouse, rat) above my head in my bedroom. When I called Homeshield I told them I needed someone to inspect for rats especially where my heater and air conditioner were. After an hour, the rep presented me with costs for monthly pest service all over my condo. When asked if he went up to inspect where I said I heard something, he said he had not but saw some droppings in other spaces. I needed someone to look and see if there were rats at my systems. after visit felt bad I didn't need all that service and said I would keep their number on file. After that I heard nothing. I am done with this company and never go back again. Subscription is a headache. I see no improvement with their month subscription and decided to cancel the service. Called and emailed them thousand times, they said someone will get back to me but never did. They only call you to collect the money, that's all. When I mentioned I want to cancel subscription, they promised someone will call me back but no call. Finally, they sent the bill for early termination to collection.
