Don't use for inspection. The inspector who came out said he didn't find any evidence of termites but wrote up the report for three locations of termites and had the nerve to submit a bid to rid our home of the nonexistent termites. I don't know about home inspections, but Exxel did pretty well on fumigating our house. We got 3 quotes altogether. Terminex and Orkin were really expensive, and Terminex wasn't sure they could tent our entire house because of the attached wood deck out back. But Exxel came in with a decent quote and they tented the whole house and the deck without a problem. The guy who came out to look at the place initially was really helpful and very friendly. He told me that we have rats in the attic and that they don't remove the bodies after the fumigating. He also said that he doesn't know why people pay companies a few hundred dollars for removing the bodies, which is something that we can do ourselves. :-) Probably because it's gross, but he did have a point. I also have to mention that Exxel's lines of communication were excellent. They called us a day in advance to confirm the time of tenting, called us on the day of to let us know they were on their way (and they were on time, not late), and on the day of removing the tenting they called three times (to let us know they were on their way, that the tenting removal was in progress, and that they were done). They also called our gas company to let them know that the gas could be turned back on. I was very satisfied with their work. read more

Not reliable or professional. Do not use them unless you're hoping for a disaster. On a side note they subcontract the tenting company they use which in itself not a good sign. They were scheduled to tent our home. We had scheduled our entire move around this process which takes 2-3 days. They came that morning with the intentions of putting the tent on. Until they informed us that they never sent us the forms to have our neighbors sign off on to allow the tenting to happen. (How can they forget the most integral part of the process beats me?? Especially if they call themselves professionals? But they were very eager to call and get their payment squared away.) They had to cancel the job on the spot. Nadia the owner was rude on the phone and raising her voice. Looking back on it we are happy this happened because we found a better company who cares and comes with a warranty. There are plenty of other termite companies to use that get the job done and do it the right way. Check out pacific coast termite instead. read more

I am disappointed in how this company handled estimates and their customers. I was referred by my realtor when selling my home. They told my realtor the inspection was complimentary. I called to verify this and was told the Inspection is complimentary for a seller. I just received an itemization from the escrow company regarding a $75 fee from exxcel termite. I called the escrow officer who said she received a bill and paid it (so I paid it at closing). I called the company and they told me their policy is to charge if no work is done. It is extremely poor to tell me this policy after the fact. My realtor and I were both told it was complimentary and therefore I told them I needed a refund. The Assistant had me speak to Nadia who told me there would be no refund and she didn't want to keep going back and forth with her. I asked if she owns the company and she said yes. Simply put- I believe a business owner should stand by estimates of their company and not go over a client's head to get the escrow company to pay for things that haven't been agreed upon. Not okay in my book. Would deter any friends and family from using this company in the future and my realtor feels the same way. read more

This company was hired by the sellers of our home, as a second bid. Exxel Termite submitted an identical sketch to the first company, but only listed one repair, instead of the 5 recommended by the 1st company. Came out on May 3 to repair balcony off of our master bedroom. All they did was cut and replace one section of a 2x4, and no painting. After we move into the house, we find several more areas on the balcony with rotting wood. I could pick apart the 2x4's with my fingers, and was able to press holes in the supporting beams with the end of a marker. We suspected the damage extended inside the house, as the support beams were also floor joists. We called the company to come out and fix the issue. They showed up, began to repair the damage, and failed to properly replace the support beam, they notched it, and bolted the EXISTING support beam to the house, with the only thing keeping the replaced support piece were the 2 outer beams on either side. I complained to Nadia, the manager, and she said they were not contractors, if I want repairs done the right way to hire my own contractor. After ordering the workers to stop, I took out BOTH bids and sketches. I began to walk the areas where the first company marked repairs needed, only to find that Exxel Termite Company did NOT repair 4 other areas, they only painted over them. There is rotting wood around our french doors, with fresh paint over it. I have turned this matter over to the Structural Pest Control Board. read more

I have never had such a rude experience with a Termite Inspection company in 40 years as a Realtor. We got a termite inspection for my Client's building, and when one item of the work was not completed by the workers because it didn't show on the report, I called the company to talk to them about it, because I believe it was left off the report in error. Nadia handled the call, and before she listened to my question about this issue, began lecturing me and telling me that she would be putting a lien on the Client's property if he didn't pay. When I tried to explain what the problem was, she continued to interrupt me and so I asked to speak with her supervisor. I never even got to say that I thought it was left off the report in error. She says she is the supervisor and the owner of the company, and then when I asked again to have a chance to finish what I was trying to tell her, she told me she had to go and hung up the phone on me. Yesterday when the Client was having this discussion with the workers and called me, Nadia called me and tersely informed me that she would be putting a lien on the property, and when I told her I was in a meeting and that I would call her back, she was very rude again and then hung up on me. And now that I have researched the company, I discover that she is NOT the owner, and lied to me about that. I will be contacting the owner directly about this. If she had simply listened, and then spoken to the inspector, we could have gotten this issue resolved satisfactorily. Thanks Nadia! read more
