My storage until was broken into TWICE within the last year. Shanie was helpful enough, I liked her but there is gross negligence in preventing theft at this facility. The first break in, the lock was broken in pieces, they had cut the lock - (there were several other units also broken into at this time as well) - I reported to police and nothing was recovered. The SECOND break in - someone picked the lock and then locked it back after they went through all my boxes. The response I got from Extra Space was yeah, anyone can pick a lock. As if there's nothing they can do about it?! Do not store your goods here if you don't want your unit broken into. And for God's sakes BUY THE INSURANCE! & DOUBLE LOCK! They have recently almost doubled their rental rates, so my advice would be to store somewhere safer. read more

This place is great. You get the first month free and when I had issues closing my door I got help quickly. employees are helpful like JJ that helped this morning! I have had a storage here for about 2 months. The location is nice but it was a little tricky getting there the first time (Google maps made me go in circles for a while). I prefer this storage because they charge less than public storage, and as a first time storage customer it has been great storing here. We admittedly had a mixup in our billing, but their continued price bumps are becoming more than annoying. I picked this spot because I thought they were running a somewhat less greedy ship than their competitors. I'd been putting off dealing with my storage issues for months but finally this weekend i had to stop living in denial and realize that I was living like a hoarder -- it was time to get a storage unit instead of pretending that my hallway was a garage. Following the advice of a friend who said this place was excellent, I made it over this Saturday and found myself reassured by the manager there, Stephen who had friendly advice and reasonable prices. They steal your stuff and sell it. Like many storage places, they make most of their money from people who miss a payment and have their storage auctioned off. The difference here is that they do not notify you that you are late with a payment. We got a storage locker here and when we got a new credit card we forgot to update our card with them. People have busy lives and this mistake happens often to people, but most of the time businesses will let you know that your charge didn't go through. They didn't notify us that the card wasn't working, they just cut the lock and auctioned off our belongings. There are more reputable storage facilities to rent from. I recommend going elsewhere for your storage needs. read more

We have been so happy with Extra Space Storage on Casitas. We have had storage spaces there for a LOOOONG time and Ken was always the person in charge and he gave us such kind service. When we came in to rent a different unit we found out he is not there anymore, and we were bummed out. But then JJ helped us out and gave us awesome service! Service and people seemed fine when I first moved in but several months after renting my unit was burglarized. They smashed the lock with enough force to damage the door of the unit but still went unnoticed hauling out almost all of my items. There is no security whatsoever with extra space tho they marketed it as being secure. I wouldn't recommend storing anything of value, but if something has no value it seems better to just get rid of it. I lost over $6000 of items. They even took personal items that were not replaceable. If you care about your stuff find a storage with some kind of minimal security at least, DO NOT STORE HERE IF U CARE ABOUT YOUR S*** read more

we're taking our first steps today to moving our crap out of storage after 9 months. i must say, however, that extra space storage has been, by far the best storage facility i've used. for about 10 years now i've been moving and relocating out of necessity, or comfort, or being a los angeles nomad, and my relationships with storage units have been a constant throughout. ESS has proved to be the best. they're super clean, super secure. the owner of this location actually LIVES on the premise and the whole location is guarded with video surveillance. this facility in particular is entirely ground level - no moving crap through small hallways, stair cases and elevators. their online payment is incredibly easy. i couldn't feel safer about leaving my belongings anywhere else. read more
