I had the worst customer experience I have ever encountered at any Public Storage. I arrived at 9:15 AM. The gate was closed and the posted phone number did not work. There was no staff on site, and no sign explaining when the manager would arrive. I had to contact Public Storage headquarters to learn that the manager would be there about 10 minutes later. While I was waiting, the automatic gate closed behind my car, locking it inside while I remained outside. When the manager finally arrived, instead of offering assistance or even basic courtesy, she immediately confronted me with an aggressive tone asking why I had parked inside. I explained that I am a Public Storage customer at other locations and simply made a small mistake while waiting for help. However, she refused to help, refused to open the gate, and repeatedly told me I "should not go into the parking lot," using the word "trespass" in an inappropriate and unprofessional way. At no point did she attempt to understand the situation or provide any support. She simply dismissed me and told me to "come back later," leaving me outside in the cold with no place to sit. This was shocking, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable behavior from someone representing Public Storage. Instead of solving an easy problem, she chose to blame, intimidate, and refuse assistance to a potential customer. Public Storage lost my trust today solely because of this manager's conduct. I expect this incident to be reviewed by district management. read more

Carina told me I did an excellent job cleaning! Only problem is I had moved out 2 days ahead of the date and did not get any prorated of two days. And other places gives credit also when we give good reviews! This place was nice to stay for awhile now i need to move to bigger storages! The service here is by far the biggest joke I've ever experienced. Starting from the top of the management. I started my moving process by setting up an account and planning a day to move in specifically because we used a moving company so being punctual and efficient were vital. I'm a single mother with one child so the help was definitely needed. After opening my account I was sent confirmation of payment and my space number. I was told I can go in during OFFICE HOURS to verify myself with a valid ID. Upon my arrival on moving day I was 30 minutes early. So I called and a representative told me that he couldn't find the account I created so he made me a new one and that I needed to go during office hours. I said ok fine as long as I'm not charged twice I'll be back during office hours. I came back with my first load to drop off and my movers and no one was there. DURING OFFICE HOURS. I called and was escalated twice but the district manager DOESNT WORK WEEKENDS! So we sat outside trying to gain access for 2 hours! I was paying movers by the hour! Escalations said someone should be there within the hour so I thought I was only taking that loss. Just to find out no one was coming! We left back to the house and continued to pack what little we could with the space left in the cars and truck. Then the property manager Karina calls and says she's there so we go back and she was not even the bit understanding to how upset I was. I was paying $300 for movers WAITING due to their business. She gives me the district managers number saying I can call him but I have a call back scheduled already. Needless to say NOTHING gets handled appropriately. The DM calls gives me nothing but excuses and never follows up after. Terrible service. Then a few days later I went to get a bag out of my unit and there was ANTS ALL OVER MY UNIT. On my furniture clothes in the boxes. I called to complain and the property manager says "yeah it's been hot that happens" mind you I only had my things in there a few days! It only took me a few days after to understand this place was never going to care about its customers. I found a new place and moved all my things there. Better price and much better service! Do not bring your stuff here. They're the absolute worst!!! Oh and to talk to someone about your CURRENT ACCOUNT it takes forever to get through so ALWAYS press one for a new account and you'll get someone on the line IN SECONDS! If I could give zero stars I would! I didn't even want to rate them but I'm hoping someone looking for a storage reads this and knows what they're getting themselves into. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE! My unit, as well as 3 other of my storage neighbors was burglarized by intruders who breached the inadequate divider walls between units made of drywall. This is the second time I have been burglarized at this facility. Why is this public storage facility not updating the pass codes??? Don't be fooled this place is unsafe. "24 Hour surveillance" is cameras in the mezzanines only, totally false advertising. 6 billion dollar company is too cheep to have real security and more cameras. read more

I don't know how this is possible but I am fed up with this location. They're super strict here. I didn't know the company/management suddenly shortened the access hours. I guess it closes at 6pm now? Wasn't informed in any way. I was trying to load up my storage with a lot of stuff. One of the staff exiting my building passed by me right now seeing that I had a cart fully loaded & told me to "Go ahead & punch in my code" (idk why he couldn't just have held it open it for me) & I feel like he was avoiding to tell me it closed at 6pm or something. Proceeded to punch in my code & it didn't work. I had to put everything back in my car & come back in the morning I guess. I asked another member who was still onsite if she knew it closed at 6 & she said she didn't know as well & that she thought it still closed at 7pm. Prices are high as usual. There's roaches. On top of that I feel like the management that works here are all up in your business, like they really don't want anyone to be here more than *30mins* which seems a little unfair to me. I guess they live here or something so that's why? I'm living in my car at the moment & I honestly barely come here, but when I do I need a little more than 30mins to access & get things straight. I always get bombarded with calls the next day threatening to end my contract cuz I spent more than 30 mins or is exiting the property 5-10 mins after closing time. Otherwise, I like one of the staff named Beatrice, she is very kind, attentive & understanding. read more

The usage of the space was easy enough, booking was easy, staff was kind and helpful. The location was adequate as far as security and sanitation. However, the price of the unit rose quickly and arbitrarily. We started renting a 5x10 unit in the spring of 2020 for $130. It is now spring of 2023 and the price has spiked to almost $300. They count on you being too lazy to move your stuff despite competitors leasing the same size unit for a fraction of the price. The incremental creeping of the price is so predatory and annoying. I don't expect better from anyone else, and I am not shocked by the practice-- but everyone should be aware of this inevitability when they begin their rental. All in all, great for a short rental, but not a company I desire to do business with in the future. read more

Manager is never there and they open office hours at 9:30 and it's past noon and nothing. Horrible service and this is a daily occurrence. Can't call either because they don't answer the phone and corporate is no help at all. I have been at this location over 9 years. Was cheap when I moved in. It was close to me, so I didn't really care much that homeless people lived there at the time. Problem is, it got worse, place smelled like urine and there was frequently a #2 in the stairwell. A lot of the things there just don't work. I've been there when I can't get in and people can't get out because the single access gate is broken or not taking any codes. They are never available when this happens and we are left waiting an hour for the staff to get back into the office. Hopefully you will never need the restroom when you are there, the one they have is never open and if you can catch a worker there to open it for you, it is something close to a gas station restroom, disgusting. (Maybe its not homeless peeing in the hallways) I found a better storage and was in the process of moving out when on the final day of the month, Public Storages' elevator broke. When I spoke to Corina in the office, she basically said, "Oh Well." There is nothing she can do, she told me. She didn't offer to take my number or even showed any interest in helping me. She wasn't kind or helpful...basically "Tough Shit." They will probably charge me for another month. The building I'm in only has access through the elevator and a locked door. With the elevator broke, I am at a loss. Corina said that I could move my stuff down 3 flights of stairs. Stairs was not the reason I got a 3rd floor storage space. Wow. I guess she has never been treated like this, because she just don't give a "F" about the customers. This is how they will treat you. I called as many numbers as I could find for the company. It is all mostly digital, so it's difficult to get a person to talk to. By going through sales, I eventually did speak with a few customer service persons and they all basically said the same, that there is nothing they can do, if the company wants to charge me, they are free to because 'the lease.' I asked to speak to a manager and they all sent me to corporate after hours voice mail. This is how they will treat you. Wow, what a way to relate to customers. Please do not believe any of the good reviews. Of course, moving in is always great, just try to get access to your space when you want or speak to a human, not so easy. UPDATE - SAME DAY At 3pm Danielle from the office gave me a call to let me know they had just repaired the elevator. I rushed over and was able to get out before they left for the day. So I won't have to deal with corporate in the morning. I would like to be able the say I left as a happy customer, but its hard to rationalize that when it throws ones whole day into disarray. I love how clean the facility is and how it is safe and secure. Their customer service has been rude and dismissive. Their Gate isn't working during access hours, there is a sign saying call management, but nobody answers. When transferred to customer service, their system says the gate is working fine and there is no compensation of any kind for the drastic inconvenience that being unable to access my storage unit during the times that our contract with them states I will be able to. This is not the 1st time this has happened. And their lackadaisical, disrespecting demeanor is printing me to change storage facilities as soon as possible. read more

THIS IS THE WORST LOCATION I'VE BEEN TO. I literally got my unit broken into a week after I moved in. The police said that they've gotten reports of the storage employees possibly doing the break ins. Since they know when you move in and check the locks. They stole about $3,000 worth of stuff and the insurance company depreciated the value down to $536. What a first impression! I am currently moving out because the gate hours stated 6:00am to 7:00pm but since they keep having SECURITY/BREAK INS ISSUES, they've changed the hours to 9:30am to 5:30pm. It's been a huge inconvenience trying to make it between those hours as those are the hours I work. I needed to get my luggage for a trip and I couldn't. They didn't even send an email or call letting us know that the hours changed. We had to find out the hard way. It's been a horrible experience at this location. #FAIL read more

My one-word review: AVOID. Like Ralph D (below), my unit was broken in to in February 2018 and the follow up from the on-site staff and from the area manager has been quite poor. They can offer no explanation of why this happened or assure me they are taking steps to keep it from happening again. This is the SECOND TIME my unit has been broken in to in the last five years. Public Storage has no real interest in keeping your possessions safe. They know they have a captive audience with this convenient location and, beyond that, they don't care. read more

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST BUSINESS I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS These guys are TERRIBLE. They are never in the office so you can't get help if you need it. They are always changing the access hours so it is difficult to get in to my unit. They NEVER notify you when a package is delivered to you and refuse let the delivery trucks in so I have had 50+ packages returned to the sender and was never notified of there delivery. I work for a huge brand that has all of their assets delivered to my unit and this company sends back the delivery every single time. The employees are rude and completely useless, most of the time they're not even there. The manager never returns your calls and is completely MIA. And on top of all of that there are police here every week because another unit has been broken into (probably the employees taking things if you ask me). If anyone on here knows a way for me to contact public storage directly to report this location please let me know. I'm stuck in a lease spending almost 2 thousand dollars a month here and there is not a single person I can speak to to deal with these issues. read more

Got a call from the district manager after posting the below Yelp review and they refunded the $33 they had charged me. My suggestion... 1 Don't allow autopay, just pay online. 2. Call ahead before you fill your truck, even if you have a reservation, call to confirm your room hasn't been scheduled for maintenance or you're going to end up 3 floors up from where you were told your space was going to be. 3. Post a Yelp review. If you're unhappy with your experience or can't get their staff to refund your money or get them to give you the space that you reserved. read more

Got a rental unit at the Blake Ave location. Amy helped me at the call center and was so sweet and amazing. When I got to the rental office Daniel R. Took care of me. He was very nice and helpful. There was a bit of a disconnect between the information the call center had given me and what the rental office was telling me. Thankfully, Daniel worked it out and all was well. The process did take a bit longer than I would have hoped but I did walk away with a $1 move in special. After buying a lock and insurance and a move in fee (nickel and dime of course) it was still only $57 for 30 days, which is a steal. I'd recommend this place for sure. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PUBLIC STORAGE. Friends of mine warned me about this location and how they lost money and were locked out of their storage for weeks but I figured that what happened to them was years ago and wouldn't happen to me. I WAS WRONG. We moved all of our stuff into the unit on Friday and let them know that we would be moving all weekend. Once we had the last load in we discovered that the lock on the unit was broken. Korina (the only nice person working there) informed us that she would get it taken care of and that we could finish moving in on Monday. On Monday I called for three hours from 930-1230 and no answer. I left numerous messages and no reply. Finally my husband and I drove over to unload our stuff and there was a clock on the door saying the front desk person wouldn't be back for another 25 MINUTES !!! We had to get back to work so couldn't obviously wait that long for her to return and did not have a key to the storage that WE WERE PAYING FOR so we went home and called to make try to set a time to bring our remaining items in. I spoke to Darlene finally after trying to call all morning and she said to me "The lock isn't fixed and we can't guarantee that someone can be here to help you open your unit at any time today. " I'm like "What do you mean ? Aren't you open until 530pm? Can I set a time with you to help us open the unit as we were supposed to move this weekend but didn't have a key." She then informed me that I would just have to wait around for a time when someone would be there and keep driving back to check. I mean this is crazy. I have two children and my husband and I work full time. Not only did they give us a unit that was broken they are refusing to make themselves available to let us in. The actual staff at this location are really very nice , however my 1 star review is not meant to be any reflection on the lovely people that work at this location. Do not count on the online pricing, I have been storing there for close to two years in 3 different spaces, You get an online price, and then every couple months they raise it with notice given via email. When I noticed yesterday that my 10x15( first floor) that I rented about 6 months ago for 220 a month is now 299, I checked the online price for a first floor 10x15 it was in fact 219 a month, I called and asked to have my rent reduced to the current market value and was given standard corporate talk about that being an only online price, etc etc. So to get the current market rate, I would basically have to get a new space in another name and move all of my stuff. Which at 80 dollars a month over a year would be worth it, except for the fact that this happened also at my two prior spaces and I am pretty sure that in a few months time I would be paying 300 again. It's unfortunate that a really dishonest sales pitch and series of corporate policies are reflecting so badly on what otherwise is a pretty well operated place short of some gate issues. read more

Why is there not a 0 star option?! This place hasn't even earned half of one from me! Long story short: my unit began leaking within 24 hours and the management did not help! I am moving back to San Diego right now and needed to put some of my things into storage. Since I am unsure of where I'll be going at the end of 6 months, I decided to chose a storage place with easy freeway access that wasn't very far from my current apartment. That is how I came upon this particular public storage. On Friday I met Veronica, the property manager, who showed me the unit. Everything was clean and looked like a standard 5x10 box. I filled out paperwork, signed up for insurance and purchased a lock for my new spot. So far, so good. On Sunday, my family came to help me move early in the morning. This location has carts that you can check out from the front desk. Unfortunately, the front desk doesn't open until 9:30... and it was then 9:20. We see a worker go into the office, so my dad goes to ask if we could get a cart. The man tells him that he'll need a key for that... and then proceeds to go back to his car and sit in his car until 9:30. In the meantime, we manage to move all of my stuff without the cart. Thanks for the help, guy! We come back with another load to move in. This time the guy is in his office and gives me a key. By the time we are done, he has already gone on his break. I guess he needs a break every 50 minutes or so.... so I just dropped the key in the mail slot and drove off to San Diego. On Monday, I came back up to Los Angeles with an SUV to move my remaining things. I met up with a friend who told me she was interested in using my bookcase, so we traveled to my storage space to get it. When I opened my unit, I found the bookcase covered in water! It had only been in the unit for just over 24 hours, so I went to the front office to see what they could do to help. The first response from the manager was "do you have insurance?" Not "let me check out the leak" not "I'll call maintenance immediately"... "do you have insurance... so I said yes and told them that I had moved in the day prior and the unit was dry. They tell me that I probably hit the fire sprinkler when I moved (which is 10 feet off the ground). They tell me that I can always move into another unit, but I would have to do that within the next 15 minutes, since the property gates would be closing at 5:45pm. I ask them if they will be contacting maintenance tonight to fix the leak. They inform me that they don't want to bother the owner so late to get to maintenance. Jose, the other manager, tells me he is willing to go see if that was what happened so he follows me to my unit. When we get to the unit, he gets dripped on and notices that it isn't the pipe that is leaking, but rather the ceiling is leaking! My unit is on the second floor of a 3 story building- so it was leaking through someone else's unit to get to my unit! Jose explained that it was probably from the rain and asked if I had a tarp. "Why would I have a tarp? I am storing indoors!" I say to him. He tells me that he'll see what he can do for me and goes off ahead of me. I go wait for him outside as I am upset and need some air. He comes back and tells me that he has another unit available, so I follow him to look at it. This unit is clean and dry, but then again, my unit was clean and dry when I moved in, so this clearly means nothing at this point. Still I ask when I can move into this different unit. He tells me that the property will be closing soon, but I could come back tomorrow. I explain that I now live in San Diego- 150 miles south of this storage place. I can't just come up on a Tuesday- and with their hours of operation (6am-6pm) I don't think I know of anyone who could help me mid-week. His solution is to offer to personally help me move my things... on Friday. Again, I remind him that I am living far away and would need to see if I have that day available for moving. But since the leak is happening now, even if I moved on Friday, that is 4 days of leaking getting on my dresser, vanity, tempurpedic bed and boxes of school papers. I need a solution now. Jose gives me a king/queen plastic bed cover to use as a tarp for my things. I put it over as much of my stuff as I can, while getting dripped on. I ask him if he will be contacting the people in the unit above me- he said he would... I'm not sure if I believe him. Glad I got the insurance, but not happy at all with this storage place. read more

The staff at this Public Storage were helpful from our initial contact over the phone all through moving my stuff in. They ever made me feel like they were doing me a flavor and got me the best deal to fit my temporary needs. The building got multiple large elevators with lots of space, and prices are a bit lower than most Public Storages in the area. They carry everything you need to relocate. read more

Zero stars. Actually, negative 5 stars. I had a space at this location for many years. While there, someone broke into my storage unit. Neither Public Storage nor their staff ever apologized or said or did anything to make that experience better. They never went out of their way to help in any way shape of form. Public Storage makes things more difficult than they need to. They lock up the trashcan so that you can't throw away your unwanted things. They lock up moving carts which makes it harder for you to move your things - and if you come in when the office is closed you can't get a moving cart - period - they are all sitting there locked up. If you ever email them with a question they never answer. The front office staff doesn't listen very well. There are other storage companies that are way better. Unfortunately, I learned about them years after. Other places.... - have trash bins that are open all the time, so you can get rid of unwanted things - have Salvation Army donation bins so you can donate things to charity. - reply to emails within 4 hours. - post their prices up on their website - no hidden fees, no surprises - are generous with new customer discount options, 50% off first month or 25% off from the first couple of months etc. - include insurance in the price of the monthly rate - have independent alarms in every single unit - have friendly, professional staff that go out of their way to help you So, look around for other options. read more
