When my aunt needed a place to store her stuff, I researched all the nearby storage facilities until I found SoCal Self Storage at Hollywood & Bronson and knew that this was the right place for her. As a single lady, my aunt needed a place that was safe and this was just the place. The prices of the other facilities nearby are mostly the same, but the on site grounds vary. This location is by far the cleanest, showing little to no graffiti and is monitored by cameras all throughout. It has a super clean bathroom next to the office making it convenient but most importantly safe to use. There is always parking inside and rolling carts are available at no cost to help you carry your loads up the elevator. Free water bottles for the sweaty lifting are inside the office. There is always someone inside to help answer your questions. Given the professional service my aunt received, it was no surprise I stored my things here when I needed it a couple years later. I stored my stuff here from June 2012 to January 2013. I was able to use her as a referral and got $25 off, as well as the move in special (buy one month and second one is free, plus use their truck to move in) which is probably always available. You can use the truck only for moving in not out and you are responsible for paying for the gas used during the move. Their theme: caricatures of Hollywood stars contributes to the light vibe. The one thing I was not informed of over the phone when I asked about all the fees was that I had to pay for property insurance which is added to the monthly bill. I was not happy when I showed up and this fee was part of the contract. Since I am a homeowner I was able to use my coverage to waive this fee but had to make an extra trip to bring proof of coverage. I was not happy about this especially since I planned ahead but still, I knew I would otherwise be satisfied. After having my stuff stored here for six months, I received a notice that my bill had increased from $171 to $183 and this again did not make me happy. I have not read the fine print that probably mentions it's okay to change prices, but again, I asked about hidden fees and any other possible charges that I might be responsible for and was not told that in the near future my rent might increase. For failing to adequately inform me of the insurance fee and increase in rent charge I have not given them five stars. You can create a log-in and pay your monthly bill online or be placed on auto-pay. Overall, if you plan ahead and know about all the fees up front, storing your things here will be hassle-free. read more

Go here immediately. I could give this place 10 stars. I initially found this place off Westside Rentals. I thought I would be needing a place to live, but turned out I need a place to store everything (since my boss is temporarily moving me out of the country. Ha!) that's another story. I called them up to get a quote and I was taken by how nice they were on the phone. They even followed up with an email of useful info. The westside deal was 60% off the first month. Pretty good! I arrived a few days before my move and Glen showed me around. He was patient, kind, and after listening about all the stuff I have he helped me determine the perfect unit for me. He even said my unit was the best and was lucky to get it. The day of the move in, I was exhausted!!! They welcome me, my BFF, and the movers with cold water and a free lock. My movers were amazing and fast, and sure enough.... My unit was the perfect size!!! I even have enough room to bring things back from my travels to store. They were kind enough to let me do all the paperwork AFTER my move so my movers could get paid out first. I was grateful for that. Moses was exceptionally kind and helpful leading me thru the move in process. I got a great deal!! The unit is temp controlled and super safe. Here is where the extra 5 stars to make them 10 stars comes in. The day after I moved in, I realized I was missing $200 in a white envelope. Random but not because I'm doing the Dave Ramsey envelope system. Anyways, I remembered having it after paying out my movers and then not having it after the storage place. I called immediately and they said they didn't see it. I thought and thought. Omg!!! Did I throw it away with the empty envelope after I paid the movers???? That had to be it!! And how embarrassing to admit. I called again and got Glen. I told him that it might be in the trash and asked if anyone had emptied the medium sized black trash in the office. He said no and that he would go thru it himself!!! Wow!! Some time goes by and I called back and he said he didn't have time yet. Then 30 minutes later he says he found it!!!!!!!! He had put gloves on and found my money!!! First of all, he didn't have to dig thru the trash. Secondly, he could've taken the cash but didn't. The whole thing was a miracle, thanks to my delusional mistake. Next time I move, I won't pull an all nighter packing!!!! I rewarded him and thanked him kindly. Choose this place if you are debating between other storage places. Kind people await to help you. read more

You know the first fifteen minutes of the kind of movie where everything that could possibly go wrong in the main character's life does and we spend the next hour and a half picking up the pieces? Well, this past July was my first fifteen minutes. I'd just graduated college, couldn't find a job, had just moved into and moved straight out of a roach-infested apartment, and one day I mysteriously lost my cat. (And found her, but that's another story.) This is a pretty long-winded introduction to simply saying that finding this storage place was the beginning of a turnaround. My grandmother and I marched in on July 1st and were lucky enough to procure a small unit for all my stuff while I figured out my life for the next month or so. Moses, the manager, and his gang are some of the nicest, most accommodating and helpful people you'll ever meet. Basically, they went above and beyond in every way and made what was the worst few weeks of my life into something a little brighter. That sounds super cheesy, but talk to me after you've spent a night sleeping in your car and three days wearing the same clothes, moving stuff in and out of a 4th floor apartment. Moving in was a cinch. Moses even let my cat hang out in their office so she wouldn't freak out in the car. Not to mention he listened to my grandmother's sometimes endless rambling (I love her, but jesu christo). The facility itself is clean, air conditioned and secure. Getting in and out of the building is no problem - there's always parking during the day if you're moving in or out stuff and plenty of dollies available. My unit was conveniently right off the elevator. And it was all well-lit and didn't give off that creepy vibe or smell where you suspect your neighbor is storing bodies. (Or they were just really well-preserved bodies.) I was almost disappointed that I wouldn't be dropping by regularly anymore when I found a place and moved my stuff back out again. Of course, if I find myself dropping life in LA to hop off to another continent or whatever, this is the only place I'll go to keep my stuff safe in the meantime. But seriously people, if you need a storage unit on the east side - anywhere in Los Angeles, really - come see these guys. They're the nicest, most awesome people in the storage business, hands down. Adjacent to the two security-coded elevators, a convoy of handcarts stands at the ready to assuage you in the transportation of your beloved belongings to their new residence with ease. If your move requires the use of a large box truck, well, the SOCAL STORAGE - HOLLYOOOD AND BRONSON location has that at its disposal for you. The main corridors containing the storage units are well maintained, spacious, and are appointed with cartoon caricatures of Hollywood icons making you feel like you are attending the Oscars that are held just down the street at The Kodak Theater. The corridors as well as the units themselves, are superbly clean, well illuminated, climate controlled, and secure. For your convenience, music is piped throughout the facility via central stereo, helping to make your load/unload just a little easier. If the above wasn't already enough to persuade you, then what really separates the SOCAL STORAGE - HOLLYWOOD AND BRONSON location from not just other storage businesses, but businesses in general, are its true assets, the staff. In the well-organized office and sitting just behind the obsidian-black, granite countertop, you will find three of the most professional, honest, enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeable, detailed-oriented, and courteous employees in MOSES, GLEN, and JOHN. These gentlemen are always there to greet you with a warm smile, an enthusiastic hello, and a complimentary bottle of water or two, making you feel more than welcome every time you enter and they are extremely attentive to a customer's needs. This month was my first month at SoCal Self Storage and my first experience with the staff and storage process was AWESOME! I don't want to sound like I'm exaggerating by any means, but I could not be any more enthusiastic about all of this... The staff: MORE than HELPFUL! I even had to make sure I had recalled everyone's names that helped me because I knew working with them again would be a must. Moses, Glenn, and John were all working that day and they all went out of their way to help me. Due to some inconveniences with my moving out of the apartment and getting my U-Haul I had to come an hour before close and they MADE SURE everything went easily. They helped me register, get my cart, walk me to my storage unit ALL with a smile. (Which really helps during moving considering all the stress you're under.) Great helpful staff that everyone who has to move could really APPRECIATE! The price: I'm young, so I like to find the BEST and most REASONABLE price. For the amount of stuff (which fits about three rooms) in my storage unit I got a great deal. Really, all their offering deals are a bargain. So if you're young, or just like a good deal.. this is your place. There's no question I'll be leaving my stuff there for more than one month! The location: GREAT and CONVENIENT! Seriously! It's right on the corner and there's an easy entrance for whatever car/truck you're driving. I came right in (a gated, covered parking-lot with my 17 sized U-Haul and began my easy process.) It was honestly too easy cause right next to my U-Haul were HUGE carts that were able to fit all my stuff in just three trips to the unit itself. SAFE area! HUGE elevators! And apparently you run into celebrities there from what I hear, so that's always fun. 5 STARS just cause I have absolutely nothing negative to say. I've had to have my stuff in three different storage locations previous to this and SoCal Self-Storage (Hollywood & Bronson) has been my absolute favorite. Again, I totally recommend this place to young people like myself or anyone who's looking for a great deal and awesome experience!!! read more

My family changes its place of residence very rarely because this process requires a lot of precious time, energy and discipline from us. Storage is a good solution in such a situation. In the Hollywood SoCal Self Storage, workers from the first day I rented the storage created comfort for me and gave me moral support, which I consider part of the high level of quality of service. Life is made up of little things. And it is very nice when one by one, every little gesture of care from Jesse Fox, Moses Ruiz, and Doris Flores - the employees of the Hollywood SoCal Self Storage - about my needs (there is always fresh water available in the office, even coffee, quickly eliminated power failures, etc.) is a natural phenomenon in the team of SoCal Self Storage in Hollywood. The feeling of my comfort generates a sense of my trust. I am a student. I study at the same time as four majors at different universities in Los Angeles. When I will finish my studies here, I will continue my education in New York, where I studied at NYU, but had to leave this city urgently during a period of high mortality during the coronavirus pandemic. By the way, from 2020, I have my important and expensive books for future training, clothes, shoes, and furniture stored in Manhattan in storage. And I don't feel trust in the new owners of a Storage in Manhattan, unlike how I 100% trust the safety of my valuables to the Hollywood SoCal Self Storage. Without a doubt, THE VERY BEST storage facility in Los Angeles! ( our entertainment company has several storage sites thru- out LA ) NO ONE CAN COMPARE to the management team here! The space is convenient and the star treatment awaits you from management!!!! Moses, and Glen are beyond nice - they are professional caring and go beyond and above. Here you have friends and a friendly place that always makes you feel great about your choice to store your equipment or stuff at this facility ( no one could change to another storage after this facitlity - because the bar is set so so high!) THIS facility is the best on every level. I work for an Entertainment Company( HDE) -the owners have several storage sites and many of the performers have to do pick up equipment or costumes etc.. and this facility is one of our many storage spots. This is without a doubt the favorite and best storage spot in LA. The owners LOVE the management, security and service. The management team ( Moe & Glen) our universally appreciated by ALL that need to interact with the pick up of costumes or equipment. I can't believe that I would ever say this about a storage unit (which I have avoided for my 38 years of life) but I LOVE SoCal Self Storage. I researched 4 other storage units before going to this one and despite this one being the farthest from my home I took it upon sight because of the following reasons: 1. Moses, Glenn and John-they don't make kind people like this anymore! They are truly amazing, generous and sincere people. I may actually still stop by to say hello because they are just that awesome. 2. Best price in town-my unit had a pillar in it that cut out about a foot of space and because of this they knocked off about $15/month (the pillar wasn't a big deal). 3. It's super bright-all other units I looked at were dingy and unappealing. I dreaded going through and knew I wouldn't want to frequent them. SoCal Storage has great bright energy, making going into storage a pleasant experience. 4. The music piped through the halls is perfect. They play great tunes we all know and it's not loud at all-just enough volume to enjoy it. 5. The characters on the wall are awesome-again something unique that no other storage unit offers. 6. It's super clean! 7. Easy to access yet secure-you get your personal code which is great for security. 8. Elevators are Super Roomy-great space and both working all of the time. 9. Parking right outside of the elevator. 10. Use of their truck for moving items. 11. Palms Thai is in same complex-great food and really inexpensive. The only reason I moved out of SoCal Storage was because a storage unit opened in my apartment complex which was too convenient to pass up. But I'm actually going to miss going to SoCal Storage. Have you ever been to a storage facility that's so dark and creepy that you feel like you could easily become the victim of a crime without anyone every knowing? Well, let me tell you that SoCal Self Storage definitely is NOT this type of storage facility! I've been storing my excess goods at SoCal for about 4 months now and it's been an all round positive experience. Glenn and Moses, who run this place, stride to make their customers happy and they've been nothing but helpful and accommodating each and every time I've stopped in there. What really sold me on SoCal was that when you rent a storage unit from them, and if you call and reserve it in advance, you can use their moving truck for FREE! The opportunity to save hundreds of dollars by not having to rent a moving truck to transport all of my stuff was just too amazing. What service!! Another example of how these people are always on the side of their customers is that they've even called me to let me know that my payment is almost due so that I can avoid a late fee. I'm pretty forgetful so this little extra service that they provide has been really great and much appreciated. Oh and don't think that SoCal charges crazy high rates because they offer their customers all of these services. Their rates are comparable to every other storage place in the city. Go with SoCal and you won't be disappointed. read more

SoCal Self Storage is clean, safe, convenient, well lighted and has good parking. Moreover, Moses, Glenn and John never have to work hard for answers to my questions because they have them. They spend whatever time is necessary to make sure I am served. I never have the sense of being rushed in order for them to get back to paper work or other business. If they are in the middle of a transaction they acknowledge my presence immediately and attend me as soon as possible. They have walked me through instructions, intervened when another customer already in a bad mood tried to turn his problem into mine. When I walk into Hollywood & Bronson self storage, I feel at home. Never feel that the "self" in "self storage" means left all to myself with minimal assistance. I am the one that pays late every month. Whew, thank goodness for that 10 day grace period. Storage, though needed for many of us, can be a real pain. Starting with the facility. It is very clean. Indoors and air conditioned, which makes trip to storage not feel dusty and sweaty. Located very convenient for myself. But even if I was not close, I would still use this location for my storage. The staff. Well I can not say enough nice things about the people that work at this location. As I stroll in, sometimes on my tenth day of grace period, I am greeted with, "well hello Lori". I never remember my unit number, but they always have me pulled up on screen before I can pick through the candy bowl. They are always kind and considerate to this girl that is always late. Very professional. I have been there much longer than I anticipated I would be. But stored is part of my life that I do not have room for in my apartment. I do not want to have stuff stored nor do I want to have to pay to store stuff. But the fact is I have to. And I would not go anywhere else. These guys have been just great. BEST EXPERIENCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Yeah MOSES!!!! I highly recommend this storage facility to all!!! For the past 2 years I have been a customer from Chicago.. I have been in a difficult situation helping a family member in need. I can't express enough how wonderful the people are here, Moses, Jesse, and Andres. Especially MOSES. He is the most understanding and compassionate person I have ever dealt with (especially for someone who has never met me). From Chicago I call him every month --not only does he help me with all my questions about the units and resources available to me but always gives me kind words and encouragement to help me through. This world needs more people like MOSES!!! His positive attitude and willingness to help people is a characteristic you don't find often in people these days. Let me say that I HATE storage facilities, all your things are there, you look at them like it's the last time you're gonna see your stuff and now you're living in a room you don't wanna be in because you have to tip-toe everywhere you go like a thief. So I'll get right to it! This place changed my view on storage facilities! Moses & the gang are cool as the air conditioning blowing through the office! There's no dust, no wire gate separators where you can see your neighbors 1982 poster sized wedding picture. When I called Moses answered and let me know that their facility is safe, clean and it was walking distance from my place. They supplied my friend and my self with waters, and even gave me a lock! I mean everything was easy. Getting in, easy ways to pay, and a easy exit. I'll tell anyone to go to this place, as you're closing the gate you'll know your belongings are safe...and you'll be getting your things soon! I love this spot! ...and all of the cartoon icons everywhere & your unit having a real Hollywood street name gives you that "star" feeling! read more

I work for the Gay & Lesbian Center. As a non-profit we don't have a great deal of money to spend on storage. As such, Hollywood & Bronson proved to be a great value as well as being geographically desireable to the organization. On a personal level, this is the best storage place ever. The entire staff is great, they remember my name and say hello every time I come by. I'm offered water and tea when I arrive. They always have carts available so I can easily move supplies from my storage unit to my van...which happens a lot. You have to have a code to get into the elevators and there are security cameras everywhere so there is a high sense of saftey for our supplies. Music is piped in all the time to make the laborous task of loading and unloading easier. This is by far the best storage facility in the city. I like it so much, I moved my own personal storage to this facility. You are lucky if you can get space here. PS: They have a free one time rental van that helps cut down the initial move in costs. read more
