December 30, 2024 I received this injury due to this protruding foot-long piece of metal Sticking from the wall around a blind corner. I asked for a Band-Aid in the front office, and was scoffed at. "We don't give customers bandaids. Do you think we're a Pharmacy?" I had to go to the emergency room, Had to get a tetanus shot, Had to go on antibiotics, missed two weeks of work, and now six weeks later have a lifelong scar. Extra Space storage? Their response has been "Lady go f$&k off." Even their employees (Look online) Say the worst part about their job is how aggressive they are towards customers. And there's a class Action suit against them for their bait and switch tactics. Not "good" Mormons who run this Utah corp! I need a good personal injury / property negligenc Lawyer. The staff was awesome! Very helpful every step of my journey of moving in and out I was here over 6 months and had 3 units. Everyone was exceptionally supportive and went out of their way to be sure I was well taken care of. Thanks to everyone. read more

The customer service is next level. A special shout out to Sal for really making me feel like my business meant something to them. Very fast and easy to work with, super honest about my concerns. Genuinely appreciate them and makes me feel like my valuables are in good hands. read more

Terrible customer service. Rude staff. They make the whole storage experience pretty bad. I asked to use the restroom the lady at the counter was not happy about that lol read more

I have no idea how this place has high reviews. It seemed clean/well maintained when I moved my stuff in. I had my stuff in the unit for 18 months. I came to move my stuff out last week and the movers discovered the back corner was infested by moths/moth larvae. Right away I went to inform management, thinking they would think this is a serious issue. The management has been completely unresponsive/unapologetic. They seemed completely unfazed...they weren't in a rush to call pest control....seeing how they've responded no wonder it became infested. Shouldn't they be worried about the pests spreading??? I lost two very special antique chairs, one was my great great grandmas. Do not store your valuables here. read more

Extra Space Storage - Self Storage Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Really incredible customer service at this location! I visit our unit often for work purposes, and am always greeted with cheerful and hospitable attitudes. The employees I'd like to shout-out in particular are Rosa, Keith, Jordan and Jezel. Each of these individuals have gone above and beyond to help every time I step into the office. Truly, no matter the time of day- they acknowledge me politely and are eager to help me if I need it. I am so appreciative for their assistance- and am very grateful that the company I work with chose this location for storage! read more

Great place Mia is awesome so is the staff very clean and friendly I recommend everyone to come here

Been here for almost a year recently upgraded to a bigger space. Danny was a huge help. Very kind and resourceful person. This person deserves a raise! Great asset to the team. The space I rent monthly is very easy since it has autopay and sends email receipts. This location is very clean and has security monitored 24/7. Overall this location is the best bang for your buck. Current Staff is friendly and very helpful. Place is very clean and affordable. Would recommend to anyone that needs storage in the area! read more

I rented a unit when it was a brand new Storquest. The facilities are fine and mostly new, but after Extra Storage took over, they jacked up the prices without notice. I called and got the rate a bit lower, but it seems like there isn't really a rule, they up the price whenever they feel like, which is leading to mostly neutral to negative reviews here. Just be aware if you are storing things long term. There is usually a security but not always. It's not in the best part of town, so homeless people do wander in and out of building. I haven't had issues with breakins or anything of the sort. There are limited hours where you can access the storage, which can be a bit annoying. I'm moving out soon, but I wish they were more transparent about pricing. read more

Avoid at All Costs -- Disastrous Experience I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with this storage company was so terrible that I feel obligated to warn others. First, our unit flooded, causing thousands of dollars in property damage. Then, after relocating us to a new unit, they failed to update their system, which led to a billing nightmare. Despite having paid in full and vacated the flooded unit, they never closed out the contract -- and eventually sent it to collections. Since then, it's been a nonstop headache trying to get anyone to take responsibility or even provide basic information. Communication has been abysmal, and resolution has felt impossible. Under no circumstances would I ever use this company again. Stay far away. read more

Updating this to further indicate this trash company. Roaches, spiders, lies about climate control. They lied and charged my card earlier than due date. Literally have proof from bank with dates and they just continue to "deny ". I was never sent a contract by mail or email. No knowledge of a late fee being a percentage of price. I abhor this company. I am a chef and caterer and need to get my items and they won't let me into my OWN unit. When people go ape shit crazy on someone then people want to try to de escalate but not when things are are a much mild level. I literally CANNOT STAND THIS COMPANY and I DID NOT CHOOSE THEM!! I was forced to use them due to them buying out the previous company that I never had 1 problem with. This is by far the absolute worse storage experience I have ever had and I've been using storage units die over 20 years. I never chose this company. Storquest is who I chose and sadly this company took over and I've had nothing but issues since. I never had 1 issue prior to this takeover. Since they have been here I've had my auto pay canceled and then constant issues to have my card saved which then leads to late fees. Every month there's an issue and initially I liked Rosa but she has turned into the absolute worse person to interact with. Their systems were down and I had movers which is expensive. It took 30-45 min to get a code that actually worked which cut into my move time. They lied telling me the whole ordeal was 6 min. There's so much I want to say right now/ I def lost my cool because I abhor liars and their lack of customer service has been incredibly disappointing. Their systems are constantly not working. How when this not even once happened prior to their arrival. I was attempting to move into a larger unit only to discover a massive air duct in the unit That they Didn't even know about themselves. It took away nearly 5 feet and they still wanted to charge the same read more

Extra Space Storage - Live spider. Looking for photos of roaches and I'll come back and upload. - Self Storage Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I rented a storage unit in December, as I was moving to a different apartment; it's a bit further from my current apartment than I'd like, but one of the cheapest rates in the area at the time. So far so good; I've previously had good experiences with a Public Storage unit I rented for 2 years in the past. I did notice that most of the storage units at this ExtraSpace were empty; seems like occupancy rates are low. 3 months later, in March, they notified me that they would be jacking up the price 33% for "market adjustment", from $76 to $101. I checked the prices for other rental storage units in the area- and they're LOWER than the prices back in December. I would literally save $20/month if I switched to a nearby 5x5 SecureSpace ($56/month) or Public Storage ($68/month) storage unit. Not only is this a underhanded way to do business (jacking up the price right after I move in), it's just stupidly shooting yourself in your own foot. I wasn't really paying attention to the price of the storage unit market- after all, a storage unit is supposed to be "move it and forget it", but now that you're forcing me to check on the storage unit market, why would you claim "market conditions" for raising the rent when the market prices are DROPPING? Even funnier: there are LARGER 5x8 storage units available AT THE SAME LOCATION online at a CHEAPER $89 price (than the jacked up $101 price) that they're offering me. I can literally rent out that unit, move my stuff over (without even borrowing a truck), and save money. read more

I had a really excellent experience coming to this storage. We arrived on the weekend and we found the placed staffed with only a single individual, her name is Rosa. And even though she was up to her eyeballs in things to do I found her service very thorough and professional. They have trained her very well, hats off to the management. She was able to do our transfer from another extra space storage to this one seamlessly. I would highly recommend coming here and using this place with help like Rosa provided, you should be very satisfied. read more

This place is not safe people being braking in. Besides the garage door it hasn't work since like two months ago and they don't care for the inconvenience because you can't storage big items that won't go true the regular side door. All they want is the monthly payment on time also u don't have access on Sunday or after 7pm right on time oh and one more thing they can raise your monthly payment anytime they feel like oh and more things check the pictures ones you inside look up and see that any skinny person can get into your storege space from the top. read more

Beware they will raise the cost of your rental unit without warning within *months* of your signing up. Is this even legal? They don't tell you that they'll raise your rent to "market rate" when they gladly take your money when you first rent a unit. Extra space storage is a huge scam!!! They have purchased many fake five-star reviews. Look how many of these people have only reviewed this place and nowhere else! Re: Extra Space reply below. "Rising costs of top notch storage." Ha! More like bait and switch. You advertise one price and then conveniently raise it as soon as your customer puts their things in. It really sounds like a highly unethical and deceptive business practice. Same with all the fake reviews on Google Maps. read more

I've been using Extra Space Storage at the Chinatown location since it opened 3 or 4 years ago, and I must say, it has been one of the greatest storage experiences I've had. The facility is always impeccably clean, even the bathrooms, which is a testament to their high standards. Special shoutout to Jose, Danny, and Jordan--some of the best customer service representatives and management team members I've encountered. They've consistently provided top-notch service and have been incredibly courteous and helpful. The team was quick to resolve the issues and always offered adjustments when needed. Their dedication to ensuring my satisfaction has been truly impressive. What I appreciate the most is the safety and security of my belongings. The team has always been proactive in helping me find storage solutions that fit my changing needs. Whether it was expanding to a secondary space right across from my current one when I closed my storefront or finding more suitable options to reduce costs when I needed to liquidate, they've been there every step of the way. I wholeheartedly recommend Extra Space Storage at the Chinatown location and will continue to use their services for all my storage needs. And what great is so many friends and neighbors use this facility also so it's nice to run into friendly faces on a regular, Plus it gives me an excuse to walk my dogs at LA historic park which is a short block away makes venturing to storage and adventure and not a chore. read more

I'm giving these 5 stars to Ms. Nita for helping me with much needed information about moving out of my unit in a timely manner so that I won't be responsible for the next months payment if I'm moving totally out. Great, very helpful staff and good service. No complaints here:) you guys are running that place great.

It really takes a lot for me to actually physically decide to write a review about a company or business. But this place is extra special when it comes to being passive, aggressive, stupid, petty, and ridiculous with the metrics that they use to calculate storage unit space pricing before extra space storage Came into the picture. This building was owned by StorQuest. It's one of the newer storage spaces within the downtown Los Angeles area or should I say near the downtown Los Angeles area. I picked this storage unit because it was across the street from my building. super convenient. Super great idea at the time, I went yesterday to my storage unit and discovered that there was a smell coming from my unit. It smelled like a dead rodent. I then proceeded downstairs to the office to tell someone about my findings only to discover that not only I didn't have insurance on my unit (as they promised during the takeover process) any longer but they were intending on going up on my rent $100 without even telling. When this company took over StorQuest clients, they tried to distance themselves and not take accountability with regard to the business of assuming the clients of storage quest storage. My girlfriend had a horrible experience as well, which was separate from mine, and I tried to keep a calm head and say well maybe that was just her experience, but it was not the truth at all, I even discovered that my own apartment complex had a meeting with city officials with regards to a transient that decided to make his home outside of that same building, stealing power from them all in process because of their miss management and also allowing him to live inside of a storage unit! Who does that if you are looking for a storage do not I repeat do not go to this company. They will speak to you in a condescending manner that is loaded with sarcasm, pettiness and passive aggressiveness And allow HOMELESS PEOPLE TO LIVE INSIDE OF THE UNITS!!! The hours of operations are silly. They don't give support from a local level. You have to call the district manager to get any kind of recourse there's so much more that I want to type with regards to my experience and my girlfriends experience, but there aren't enough characters in the world to describe how angry I am and how I was treated yesterday, if you want to throw your money away in Los Angeles, go ahead and do business with him but I'm WARNING you will regret it read more

so far, so good .. reasonable pricing, and Rosa was terrific in helping me get started on my move to their 1000n main St location in Los Angeles read more

Hidden fees and rate increases. Spoke to the call Center and was quoted $141 for a 10'x10' unit. No leases needed. Sounded good. Went to sign for the unit and of course there's some 'only charged once' fee. Then there's the lock you are forced to buy for $21. I had my own personal lock which I've used on storage units before as well as uhauls and trailers and they wouldn't even let me try it in the unit to see if it fit. I'm certain it would have worked. Then the cherry on top.. they were so busy telling me the they don't need leases that they forgot to tell me (luckily I thought to ask) that they raise the monthly rate by 20% every 3 months. So my rate of $141 for the first months came out to over $200 with a 20% increase quarterly. I did not sign, took my lock and have gone elsewhere read more

Helpful people, state of the art clean and well constructed space in a good area. I just added a second unit.

I was never notified of a rent increase due to an error in my address. I came into the office and they agreed to refund the extra charge. We had a face to face conversation and agreement on this. A week later I see that I did not get the agreed to refund and called. I was notified then that they considered it to be my fault I had not been notified because I was responsible for the erroneous address in their system. I was never an extra space storage customer but was with storquest who sold the property to extra space. It's a dishonest business practice and it's disappointing to be treated so poorly. Note that there is no email or other notification of the rental increases. The intention is clearly to catch customers off guard and spring the increase on them. In this case the increase was 16%. read more

The front desk reps were excellent, Alfredo Vasquez JR and Edward Yoc. Thank you!!!!!

i rented a space here. the facility is fine, lower teir than public storage or trojan but still nicer than some off brand spots. I got quoted $140/month for a 10x10, 2 people in person and 1 person on the phone all said this was the permanent rent, not a promotional price. They charged me and then AFTER they charged me they had me sign the lease saying it was a promotional price and it would change 'soon' or in 'a few months' to a different rent but they could not tell me the price. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE. They will raise your rent 30-40% months after you get everything moved in. Predatorial business practices that I'm sure will be outlawed in the state of California in the coming years. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

This place used to be StorQuest. It was clean and safe. Now it's unsafe to enter through the back gate. There are a gang of homeless people crowding the entrance. Even though the sign says open at 8:00am I wait til someone is in the office because it's not safe being alone. They raised the rents after taking over and gradually the homeless moved in too. Don't store your stuff here! I'm looking to get out asap! read more

My card was stolen and I had to get a replacement while I was out of town for work they gave ten days before cutting the lock to my unit. They upped the price ridiculously a few months after renting the space go to public storage. I use this space for my business and this is my first time with Extra Space after being referred by a friend.
