i signed up on a promotion , 50% off first three months which was basically $50 a month. that was may 25th. As of Aug 1 I paid them $160 . yet they locked me out of my storage claiming i owe them $300. you can slice it six ways to sunday but to me these people are nothing but straight crooks and scam artists . so keep the storage scumbags and dont be surprised when you are out of business because thats what im doing now. filing complaints with ftc ftb sos and in civil court. if i could put negative stars i would. oh and dont bring your own lock they force you to buy their lock for $20. read more

This facility changed hands and proudly said they would not be increasing the rates. That was short lived AND it went up significantly. Twice now, I show up with a vehicle full of things to take to my unit and no one is in the office. That means no carts. No one answered the phone. No one answers knocks on the door. If they don't care about their own property, what makes you think that they would care about yours? My property has been with Fort Storage for 4 years. I have paid monthly payments on time. I pay their yearly increases. However, I haven't checked on my unit for 2 years, because of traveling & business. 4 days ago, I found broken light bulbs in my unit. The broken bulbs aren't mine. There is no light inside unit so how did it get there? The bulbs are the same brand that Fort Storage uses in their hallways, but the closest light bulb is 4 feet away. To make matters worse, the hardware on the pad lock is damaged and nails were loose. The person/people that tried to break into my unit made several attempts. Surprisingly, the other units on my floor were not damaged. Just mine. (Please see pics) Fort Storage couldn't tell me how their broken bulbs appeared in my unit or why the lock was damage, because there are no cameras insides their storage buildings. Luckily, there was nothing missing from my unit this time. Fort Storage doesn't allow their workers to report damage or potential break ins to you. Seriously, nobody walks down the hall and notices damage? Do you tell your employees to ignore it and keep walking? I believe this was an inside job. The company knew that I hadn't been there for 2 years. Fort storage is privately owned. Sadly, they would not provide me the owners name or email address. And, this is how they treat their paying customers!!!! I can't move out as of yet, because I will be traveling in a few days. I, now, have 2 padlocks to avoid someone from trying to break in a 2nd time. Remember, if anything happens to your property their insurance will require a deductible (more $$ from you) and they can deny the claim since there are no cameras in the hallway. *Remember you're paying them for their services* Moving forward, if my stuff is stolen, I will file a police report and report them to BBB. read more

Get your own locks because I had to get a round lock that you can pay for but I tried the key on my neighbors unit and wala got it opened with no problem and could have been stealing everything he owed . And the storage company has the most dumb hours and you can only take 30 minutes to visit your unit and if longer than 1/2 hour you will be charged $56 bucks or $58 bucks and if you're there smoking or vaping then you will get thrown out and then robbed and then rapped by the homeless people in the back of the elevators and made too smoke meth and turn tricks for drugs and then you can't run or get help because they will tie you to the tent so they break your spirit and you become a real prostitut and then your turned out and then your getting rammed in the asshole and sucking on big ass dirty cocks so if you're a white girl you will be beaten by the nigger bum every day and pimped out for pennies and raped too death and then they will give you a drug overdose so you don't talk to the police and then they find your body in a tent with mountains of trash on top of you and your family will never be notified because you'll be just another poppers, grave, and LA rats in LA will eat your face of and the rest of your body because there's a size of wolves, so if you feel like going through all this, come down to fort storage where everyone's family read more

I've been told but the call center that they have switched management, but there is no where that gives any updated contact information. the bill pay option was taken off of storage pro site for this location. It's in the sketchiest South Central neighborhood, we once saw two homeless people fighting with a stop sign and a shopping cart in front...it's gross. The topper was: They tried to scam us with a "fire violation" notice that was written on 3/15...they said we had 3 days from the date on the notice to fix the violations that they could've even tell us what they were...we received the letter on 3/19...how the hell can you fix something in the past? When my wife called for clarity the guy was a totally condescending jerk to her saying they sent 200+ letters and he didn't have time to deal with her. I moved my stuff out the next day. Glad Public Storage exists, it's 100x better. Trust me--save your money and avoid this terrible place and their awful staff. read more

Since they changed their employees it has become bad. The previous employees were very friendly & helpful. Now they are rude & not helpful at all!! The new female that's in charge has let it go to her head. She isn't helpful at all & has an attitude. You can only stay for 30. Before you could tell them that you need more time & they would be fine with it as long as you let them know. But this woman won't let you at all. Sometimes you just need more time. I'd like to update my previous review. Originally, had given this five stars. Although the two individuals who helped me were friendly, they were extremely pushy about me writing the review. I was in the process of moving in and they would not let me leave until I submitted a review saying how helpful they had been thus far. Darrean was more in the background and not being pushy, but the other individual, Paula(It was a guy and I don't think this was his name, but I was rushing to get out of there), was extremely pushy and kept telling me to just take out my phone and leave the review. That was just the initial interaction with them. Now in August, I contacted the office to let them know that I would be moving out on the 3rd of September. They sent over forms for the move-out and let me know that I would just pay for the three days of the unit being used and nothing else. On the third of September, I received a charge to my account for the full month's rent. I called the facility multiple times and was continuously told to call back because Carlos, the Facility manager was not in. I even left my number to receive a callback and was left with nothing. I finally was able to catch him in the office after a few weeks and he went back and forth with me saying that I didn't take my lock with me and that he still sees it on the door. I told him that I had my lock with me and he stated that I would have to come to the facility to use my key to unlock the lock that was there. I promised it wasn't mine and he would not budge. Later, he realized that the lock there was the lock that the facility uses and not the ones that tenants purchase. He apologized. He then stated he would start the process of a refund after speaking with the person above him. I called back week after week and was finally told in October that the request for a refund was submitted and that it would take 5 business days. The next time I spoke with Carlos, he also acted as if he didn't know my situation and stated he never spoke with me. I re-explained everything and after about 10 minutes he remembered. After two weeks, I called back to figure out why I still hadn't received anything. They then changed the story and said that it takes a month to receive it. It has not been almost three months and no check has been mailed to me. I called back the facility today and they stated that Carlos was out due to an emergency. I have somewhat learned his schedule due to the many interactions I have had trying to get in contact with him, so I called on the specific day and time he should be there. This is not the first time that an "Emergency" has come up and he has been out during his originally scheduled times. He has gone home early after asking me to call him at a specific time, he has been out on days he was supposed to be there, and other employees have just flat-out told me that they don't know where he is or why he is not there. With my call today, they stated he would be back tomorrow and that he would call me back. We will see if he actually calls and is able to support me or if this continuous game of cat and mouse will continue as my refund is delayed over and over again. All in all, I would not recommend using this facility or company. This situation, although not extremely common, shows that the business model being used is not working. Customer service is not able to do anything because all the power is given to the facility, Employees at the facility are not knowledgeable about processes around transactions, and the Manager, Carlos, is flaky and untrustworthy as he has pretended to not know who I am or my situation after various calls together and his various call outs on days he should be working to improve the overall quality of the establishment. read more

Whenever we swing by the unit, she is usually the person at the front office to help us out with either renting dollies or just with general questions. The worst storage ever!! They wasted my time. When I first got here Rudy assisted me. He was very slow. Someone came in, he stopped helping me and assisted the other person payment without asking if it was alright. Then continued to help him with something else, but I had to step in and tell him that I was there first. He said my transaction was very long and I said that I was here first. He then proceed to help me and I asked him for something specific and he repeated it back to me and he said okay. After everything was all finished and done and I moved everything in, I saw on my receipt that he didn't do what I asked for. I caught him outside and asked him about it and he told me to tell the guy inside. Something told me to have him walk me back inside to get it done, but instead, I moved the last load in. When I was done, I went in and told the guy my request and I assumed it acted like he called the manager and the manager said no. Once again, I assumed. Then I told him to move me out. While I was writing this review, someone came in and she requested a storage unit. He started helping her. I waited a few minutes, then I told him, wait, are you going to finish my move out. He told me that I asked to move out and for a refund. Then he asked what was my problem, which was the worst thing to ask someone in a heat of the moment. At that time, I was already holding everything in me to not curse him out, but once he said that, I went off. The customer walked outside while I was screaming at him. This was a total waste of my time and the worst customer service that I have EVER encountered, in person. He claimed that he moved me out, but didn't tell me, didn't give me a receipt, nothing. So, how was I suppose to know that he moved me out, if I'm standing there waiting for him to give me a receipt or even communicate that he moved me out. So, I left, moved everything I just moved in, out, all because of Rudy lying to me about my request! No apologies what so ever. After I moved everything out, I went back to apologize to the 2nd guy, because technically it wasn't his fault, it was Rudy's fault, but the 2nd guy could have been a little more understanding, nice, and better at communicating. Also, while moving things out, I saw a couple dead roaches on the ground. So, there's that. I would not recommend this place based off the horrible customer service and the bugs. read more

Can't believe that I am writing a review on a storage facility, BUT the customer service that I received from the "Manager" Xavier, warrants this review. Not only was he rude and condescending when I spoke to him about a billing issue, he intimated threating actions regarding my status at the facility. I initially called due to my inability to process a payment online. I generally make payments when I receive the monthly emails, sometimes even paying in advance. This particular time, I was not allowed to pay. To be frank, this is one of those bills that I don't keep up with. So if a technical issue prevents me paying in that moment, I go on with life as I am extremely busy. Never had I been late paying prior to, but on this particular billing circle, it was the result of technology. Giving detail to provide context... That being said, when I attempted to articular the information to Xavier, he immediately started of in a defensive position. The late fee was incidental... How he delivered the message was unacceptable and he created a contentious situation. I CANNOT WAIT TO CEASE BUSINESS WITH THEM. I recommend all to stay away on general principle. read more

1) they charge you late fees even on the same day you pay on time. .You ask for a manager or corporate office and they lie to you there's no corporate office. dont go there. Head over to another storage company. The manager Xavier is the worst. 2) They had a break in years ago and they didnt even compensate the tenants, , that got robbed. A storage facility which gets broken into easily..imagine that. 3) They also lie to you that they claim they dont "monitor" when the last time you went to your locker. How is that possible when there is a trip-wire on every storage door (because of that break-in) which activates on their system so they know when you open & close your storage door. 4) There are NO working power outlets/plugs ANYWHERE except the office. Forget about charging your stuff. 5) They KICK YOU out if you go past 15 minutes to enforce "loitering". Not a minute less. Head over to another storage company. read more

I've used 4 different storage facilities in the Los Angeles area and I've finally found the one I'm going to stick with. The facilities are clean and easy to use. There's no elevator traffic that you might find in 8+ story storage buildings because all their storage buildings are only 2 levels. Most importantly, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Even though the staff was nice, I was very angry when I discovered that someone had cut holes in my boxes. I believe the holes were peepholes to see what was in the boxes. Also my lock was brand new when I purchased it from them but it had a lot of wear and tear at my second visit. Nothing seemed to be missing. I recently used Fort Storage to store some leftover stuff I had from moving but wasn't ready to part with. The price was fantastic for a 5x5 unit and the second month for free was a nice touch as well. The location is a little "off the beaten path" but the actual facility was really clean and nice. Trina helped me with all of my paperwork, she was AMAZING! So nice and answered all of my questions. The actual unit was very spacious and very clean. The hand carts are especially helpful upon move-in and are a nice touch on their part. I was a little worried as to how I would put everything into the unit from my car, but it was extremely smooth.
