Jessica is an amazing host. She is friendly, helpful, and organized. Jessica takes much pride in her work and it shows through in the way she treats her customers. She is very attentive and can accurately discern her customers needs. She knows the business well and cleared up all my questions upon the first visit. This was my first time setting up a storage unit. I'm fairly against putting anything into storage. If you don't use it then why do you own it? If you're looking for temporary storage, I wouldn't recommend this one. Drive further out if you can. After years of using this company, I've decided to downsize my unit. They couldn't guarantee a smaller unit but they've called me to confirm my appointment almost every day. Each time I asked to make sure they had the smaller unit because I'm not going to take time off from work to make the appointment. Of course I take time from my work to make an appointment and of course they don't have any available units. What a waste of time. Way to inconvenience your customers, Public Storage. On top of all that, the lady in the front office had zero customer service skills and was speaking to me in a condescending way. I don't know if this is the type of experience others are receiving but for those I can only imagine what those who have truly fallen on hard times are experiencing when encountering this type of customer service. read more

By far the worst experience I have had in 25 years of using storage facilities for my business. The employees I have dealt with have been incompetent, argumentative and down right rude on multiple occasions to multiple people. The facility hours are inconvenient, however those are posted before renting so you can't complain about that however you can complain about rents Tripling, yes I said tripling without being notified (however they say they sent out a email that I'm sure went to junk mail). O ya and that time I rented a new unit and brought an entire crew and trucks to move everything and they double booked the unit and stuck me with no place to go and then bitched that I would not move out of the unit I was in since it was scheduled to be vacated the next day. O ya and when they refused to give me the new gate code because they said they emailed and I shouldn't have misplaced it and needed to learn to be responsible in life, of course the 1- 800 number gave it in 5 min but I had to argue with the idiot at the desk for 30 min. If you're thinking you could make a complaint to the regional manager maybe? well good luck I have 3 calls out that never got returned. These people at this facility are simply horrible in every possible way. read more

I have been a 12 year customer of the Public Storage facility at 3017 N. San Fernando Road, renting 8-9 spaces at peak business times, giving them thousands of dollars of business a month. However they have raised the rents so high--one of my spaces that started at $310 a month is now $725, changed the closing time from 8 pm to 6 pm, and established other business practices that greatly diminish the level of customer service they provide. It's gone from passable, to bad, to worse. For example, I vacated a space at the end of the month and didn't tell them until the next day. They refused to honor their former grace period, where they would prorate your rent for the first several days of the month to allow latitude for people moving out. I was told I could dispute the charge. This didn't work. They charged me the full months rent and said that if I didn't pay the rent for the vacated space it would be sent to a collection agency. When my employee got locked in their elevator, stuck between floors, they told me to have him call the number on the phone in the elevator and said there was nothing they could do! They didn't even bother to come over and look at where he was stuck between floors or offer any other assistance. I was left to call the fire department. Really bad. These high rents are despite their poor customer service, dented doors, walls of units where the drywall has been punched through or peeled back by a neighbor, lights that are out for over a year, and a few thefts we've had occur where another client has just taken off with a piece of furniture or art we're in the process of loading onto the truck. I've moved all but one of my spaces to another facility that is way better maintained, provides better customer service and doesn't engage in unfair business practices, raising rates and changes policies at whim without informing the customer. read more

Didn't offer me a lock. Charged me $23 over the $1 advertised... said I couldn't close my public storage door during open hours. Tried to make me vacate my storage after I paid and after a couple weeks... even after I got insurance. I lost a ring in my storage and now insurance is saying I can't get it replaced! I told the front desk about vandalism inside my unit and she said it wasn't there before... accusing me of writing on the wall in my own unit! read more

******THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU MOVE YOUR BELONGINGS TO THIS STORAGE FACILITY***** Here are some other options: EXTRA SPACE STORAGE, nearby, pay your friends to keep your stuff, get rid of your stuff, search craigslist for storage units, etc, etc, but NOT this one!!!!!!!! I just moved out of this unit (last week) because someone broke a hole through the Drywall that separates my unit from the next one, and they broke another hole through a nearby unit as well. (the gentleman next to my unit lost many valuable tools) Friday of the previous week, right before my work started, I received a call to come and verify "that all my belongings were still in my unit." This freaked me out so much, and the site manager over the phone would not tell me what had happened, creating more anxiety. Telling me that the "(phone) "lines were sensitive". ????????????? I was forced to leave work, and lose almost $100 doing so, not to mention possibly losing more future work The entire experience was very scary and traumatic, and I got my belongings out of there as soon as I could. (I formerly rented with Public Storage in another state, and one time, the manager called me and said "your lock is not on properly", but the on-site managers at this particular Public Storage are not straight up. When the on-site manager told me that I "needed to come down to {the storage facility} as soon as possible", she also mentioned that "we have security cameras". The only security cameras I have ever seen are outside the buildings. NO SECURITY CAMERAS IN THE BUILDINGS. To summarize, the whole experience caused me to: lose money from not working, miss a going away party for some good friends, and took time away from other important opportunities. (From having to spend much time to move my belongings). Naturally, I knew that if I chose to stay they would just give me another unit where this same thing could happen once again. Plus, after sharing my story with other tenants they told me of scary situations they have witnessed in the evenings at their storage unit including people wandering the hallways at night but not going to any unit. (obviously waiting to break into units when the coast was clear). Many units have space between the dividing wall and the ceiling so if a person really wanted to climb over, they probably could. (My unit did not have this) Overall, I did not receive any sympathy at all from the on-site manager for this paticulatr situation, or when I was stuck in an elevator on the premises for 2 hours. Their outgoing message says, "we care about your business". Yes, they care about your money, but not you. The District Manager whom I spoke with never did anything to compensate me for my loss of time, money, and huge inconveniences. NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH!!!!! To be continued....... read more

I stored here for 2 months and had all of my stuff stolen. The people couldn't help and could not have been ruder about the situation. Public storage as a company could not have been less empathic or helpful in rectifying the situation. This facility should be shut down and I couldn't recommend a place less. Worst possible experience I've had with any company in my life. The walls are constructed with cheap drywall which my neighbor knocked a giant 2'x1' hole into, and there is a giant open air window in my unit (they called it a "vent" when I moved in, but turns out its not connected to a duct system) that let in a ton of dust and moisture into my unit after 3 weeks of rain. Now I have TOXIC black mold all over my pillows and fabrics, my papers are damp, and my belongings are not secure. They offered that I can come on my only day off to spend the whole day moving all my stuff to another smaller unit for the same price, or they could cover the window with garbage bags and masking tape (which would do NOTHING). Totally unacceptable. I get there to let someone into my unit to fix the drywall, but I can't move my belongings because there is literally animal excrement and dead bugs on the floor. I'm completely appalled and cannot believe the lack of respect for my belongings or time. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Came to put some things away and the roll up door had been tampered with and I couldn't get it open. I waited an hour for district manager to come by. When I went home to check on my dog he miraculously showed up while I was away. When I got back the door had been forced back into place and the lock was changed. When I opened it half my things were stolen. There r no security cameras inside the buildings so it's all at your own risk and they could really care less if your things are stolen or not. Do not trust this place with your property. I rented a unit here last month. Within one week my property was riddled with ants. They were coming in through the walls on both sides of the unit. Absolutely disgusting. When I requested a refund because I had to move my property out of there before it became trash, I was told they do not offer refunds to anyone. Ever. So a word of warning before you hand over money to these crooks, especially reconsider paying them money up front as you can kiss goodbye to ever seeing it again should you need to move out due to their negligence. read more
