Their prices are beyond fair, location central, access hours way more than most, AND the management / staff are over-the-top helpful! I'm always impressed at how safe and clean the property is kept, and the layout is very well planned - with sloped access points that keep the units rain-free and as weather safe as is possible. I was out of town when the fires were happening, and worried my belongings would be damaged from all of the ash and crazy weather - but returned to my belongings being just as I'd left them. Great place if you want to have them bait and switch you and raise the rent by 75% three months in. They will claim the market bears it but they will also simultaneously be renting the same units you are in at a 50% discount to lure more customers in. Shameful practice from a shameful business. Oh and make sure you don't throw away the change of address card they mail you three months in. That's actually your rent raise. You just need to peel it apart to see it. read more

Hidden in their agreement is that they can (and do) raise your rent at any time. 2. After ONE MONTH at the advertised rate that I signed up for ($167/mo) they raised it by 50%!!! 3. Without notice!!! 4. Only when I called them on this did they agree to a PARTIAL refund, and would not guarantee future increases would not happen. They will always use the same language: "From time to time customers may be subject to a rent increase due to the competitive blah blah blah." There's no "time to time" about it. They will IMMEDIATELY AND SUBSTANTIALLY GOUGE YOU after you sign up. This *IS* their business model. read more

My experience with this location has been exceptional. PROS: The on-site Manager: Imani is amazing at assisting and helping with customer needs. She's communicative, helpful, organized, and extremely thorough. I wish I would have gone here instead of Storage Etc. my first time around I had such a horrible customer experience with Storage Etc. 1. Location 2. Drive up is a breeze 3. The units are well maintained, monitored, and well lit. 4. IMANI IS A DOLL 5. Pricing is competitive and they don't switch and bait you like storage Etc.. 6. We love it because everything is on the outside and you can literally drive up to your unit. No problem. On one occasion we had a problem with our payment. Thank goodness for the external KIOSK! This Extra Space Storage facility is very accommodating. If you might be late with a payment, give them a heads up, and they'll work things out with you. If you need to throw some bulky items away, just tell them ahead of time, and they well help to make sure there's room in the dumpster (of course moving the items there is on you, but you really can't be too mad about that!!!). If ever in I'm the area, and need a storage facility, I would go with the Glendale Extra Space Storage facility any time! read more

Was leaving out of town for a 6 month job and the owner, Diane, couldn't have been any better in helping me efficiently move in, move out, and feel assured that my possessions were in good hands while I was away. Diane lives on site and she runs the place like a well oiled machine. Rule-breaking isn't accepted, which made me completely confident that my things had a watchful eye kept on them. She was wonderful about giving me the best deal possible (and then some!). Prices didn't go up from what she originally quoted me. Don't let this location's "out of the way" demeanor off of San Fernando scare you. All units are ground level, but with security cams all around, so you feel safe when it gets late and you're still moving... All locks are monitored by Diane with a mandatory Extra Space sticker, and if you have any issues come up, it's easy to get a hold of her, unlike Public Space Storage next door. I live in Hollywood, but rented through Extra Space up in Glendale because a) it was near to a close friend who could drop by at a moment's notice, but more importantly b) all the good reviews were true. I'd rent out a space here again in a heartbeat. read more

Let me start by saying that Kenneth and Liz were awesome and I received great customer service every time I walked into the office or called them. I don't know if they are in charge of the entire operation, or just employees, but they are always nice and super helpful. Units are clean and have high ceilings. I had a 10x15 and it was about 13 feet high or so. -1 Star because my rate got raised $20 after 2 or 3 months. Initially extraspace was the cheapest place, but not after the $20 bump. Not sure if everyone got it, but who wants to move their shit after 2 or 3 months... -1 Star because my move out process was a little weird. Yes, they prorate your last month if you let them know before you do your monthly autopay, but they do not refund unused days, which is fine, but I got the impression that my unit was being rented during the end of the days I had already paid for.... I moved all of my belongs out 2 weeks ahead of time, left my unit unlocked, and returned three days later, still about 10 days ahead of my check out date. When I spoke to Liz, she said she had already closed my account/unit and said it was all taken care of. It's nice to know that she was so on top of everything, but I got the feeling they might rent it to someone else during the days which I had already paid for.... Again, she made it clear that they do not reimburse days unused, and not that a week ads to up to that many $$$, but it just felt like they were working the system a little... (This is just my theory though) All in all, the place is clean, Liz and Kenneth are nice, no electricity anywhere, but other than that pretty ok storage place. read more
