The carts are locked up outside of business hours but there's no business hours posted, and all attempts to find out what they are has been given a reply. After 10am they seem to be unlocked but I don't know the official hours and I've ever seen anyone in the office so...? I have had a storage unit here for nearly 3 years. About one and a half years ago, it was broken into, and I am still seeing the extent of the theft, as I was just able to move everything out after moving to a larger place. They ravaged thru every last box I had. The thing that pushed me to write this review, was, among many other items, finding that an antique doll that my elderly uncle had given me as a child, was stolen. The thing that is interesting to me, is how someone was able to dig thru every single one of my boxes, and no one walk up and see this happening. This was possible because it was an employee who broke in. Otherwise, me, or any old person would have walked up and seen some thief doing this, and what would have happened then??? The theft was made possible because I replaced the lock with one slightly smaller than recommended, the office noticed this and suggested that I change it with one of an appropriate size that they sell in the office. How would someone have known the lock was penetrable just one week after it was changed?? It's an indoor facility. They knew because it was an inside job. Otherwise, whoever is comfortable hacking a lock off in the middle of the day in an indoor secured facility must have an invisibility cloak. Avoid this place at all costs. Ran by front desk thieves and crooked scumbags. Enjoy the antiques of my deceased relatives, and the evil karma that will follow you because of it. read more

So, went to move out and the elevator is broken, no one in the office. The rent has tripled since I first rented the unit six years ago. A 5x10 unit is now 309 dollars a month. Started out a little over 100. I am sure there are so many other options as far as renting a storage unit other than this place. read more

Highly disappointed! After over 2 years of renting a unit, we moved out today. We paid in full and on time (approx $350/month) every single month, including this month. I fully expected we would be refunded/pro-rated for the days we aren't using this month. Nope! Their policy is if you pay up front and move out mid-month, they just keep your money. Stay away; stay far FAR away. This place is without a doubt, the biggest rip off as far as storage facilities go. Our experience started off OK at first, we rented a 10x10 self-storage unit in June for $176 per month - then in November, we received a notice that our rent was going up to $201 per month, effective in December. I never expected our rent to go up within 5 months, but their rental agreement does give them the right to do so; however, when we initially rented the unit, they never went over the contract with us, but it does state they can increase the rent with a 30-day notice. We received our notice between the 3rd and 6th of November, and even though it was dated on the 31st of October, we did not receive the full 30 days. Today we checked out, and boy was I relieved. Then I was given my receipt. The receipt states to please note the account was subject to additional fees pursuant to a full inspection. Because I don't trust this place and already have had a dreadful experience with Public Storage, I requested that the manager inspect the unit before we leave the property. It took insistence because she had just been checking out another customer and said she had walked by our unit and that we were good to go. I continued to insist, until she reluctantly agreed. She acted terribly inconvenienced by the request, but did oblige. After inspecting the unit, she said we were good to go. I asked for a receipt or document or some sort of proof reflecting a satisfactory inspection. She responded with "We don't do that". I explained that having worked in property management before, that I did not feel comfortable with that explanation, and that without proof it was her word against mine whether or not the inspection was completed. I then requested that if she could not give me a printout of the completed inspection, that she personally sign the receipt stating that an inspection had been conducted by her personally; and again she refused. She said that the receipt was my proof (the one that says my account is subject to further charges), but she would not be able to provide me anything more than that. I also mentioned to her that the elevator's safety inspection had expired in March of 2017, she argued and said that a temporary permit had been issued, which is correct, but that permit was issued in March of 2016 and was only valid for one year - her logic made absolutely no sense. I felt the need to voice my opinion, and asked her what about the poster, that says 100% satisfaction guaranteed, this is the manager, and she responded with "Well that's one more thing you can make a wave about." - I am unbelievably infuriated by this place! I am so glad that we no longer have to deal with their nonsense. They do not work with their customers at all, nor do they offer veteran or student discounts, but retain the right to hike the rent whenever they please. If you are in Los Angeles, or another major metro area, I recommend MakeSpace.com - I just moved my stuff to their facility on Sunday, and was so amazed at the level of customer care and professionalism. The service at public storage is terrible from the onsite managers to the district managers, and regional managers. I moved in on the April 27th of the month with a $1 first months charged. This meant the 4 days left over from the month I moved in was due at the first of the following month, roughly $17, May 1st. However this was not explained to me so when I received a lien letter at the end of the month on May I was quite surprised. I did receive calls during the month but none to the affect of your lock has been cut and you've been charged lien and late fees, all over $17. No one actually took the time to explain to me what was happening. Therefore I mistakingly assumed these were curtesy calls for my upcoming rent due. When I was made aware of what happened I paid for all the late charges, a lien fee, and had to buy a new $90 electronic lock because our was cut off. When I explained this to the regional manger asking for an explanation of why this wasn't communicated, he flat out said there was nothing he could do, this is there policy. I ALREADY PAID!!! I don't want a refund I want to know why the staff didn't make me aware of what added up to $175 of damages over a $17 dollar rental charge. Fast forward to now, my storage was broken into along with 5 other tenants. The police told me the this happens every week at this location and to move my stuff. This is why you can only get into your unit between 9AM-5PM. Not to mention the callous attitude the staff toward myself and the fact of all my stuff being stolen, just unacceptable. I had my stuff in a unit at this location for about a year and a half while I went through a financial downturn. A few months in, I got behind on my bill and the unit nearly went to auction. The lock was cut in the process. I was able to make a payment and get caught up. Last week, I finally moved my stuff out of this unit and noticed at least three items/boxes were missing. The person who cut my lock clearly stole in a way to not raise immediate suspicions. Without any advance notice they delay the opening of the gates from 6 AM to 9:30 AM. That means we have no access to our truck or equipment. When I called and spoke to their to the manager he said yeah sometimes it happens sometimes and we have no way of notifying customers. This company has zero responsibility for their customers. I've been a tenant here for a couple years. I'm currently sitting in the lobby of a storage facility down the street and switching over. The gate hours here have been cut back to 9:30am to 6pm. This is beyond ridiculous. Worst customer service possible. I get that you've been having theft problems. But how about hiring security for after hours instead of restricting the gate hours? I was onsite this week and there were police there investigating a break in. Even with locked gates and the storage building locked! Super easy, super friendly, super straight forward! Ashley and the gang at Public Storage are always pleasant and helpful. They were very informative upon renting the storage unit and Ashley helped to make sure we had the best plan for us with the proper insurance. They help to make each visit simple and stress free while maintaining a nice/ clean facility, which includes the bathroom on site that's available for use if needed. They also supply dollies (at no cost) for moving belongings, which is helpful! I do wish there was a dumpster on site, but other than that this place is a wonderful option if you're looking for a storage unit! read more

Lucy even helped me move a couple things from my storage room to my car. This location has been recently been kept up (lighting/etc); mostly due to some unfortunate thefts. The problem with this location is not the local management/staff who are very courteous and helpful (to the limits set by their corporate office). The problem is that the corporate office is causing many people to leave PS. PS corporate seems to have an unofficial policy of unconditionally raising the rate at least 20% / year. (my last increase was almost 25% PS corporate also will not refund/prorate partial/unused days on a "prepaid" monthly. Just one day when I was there to cancel my service due to the most recent increase there were 4 others there to do the same. One was willing to purchase an additional unit (business owner needing storage space), but was refused the advertised non introductory price (lower than his current price) so he decided to go elsewhere (there is another storage place nearby) Might be good if in a pinch for very short term ... but unfortunately the price hikes are not very friendly... read more

She answered all of my questions kept it quick. Dshe set expectations and created a timeline for the series of things that I requested. Despite being only person in her shift I saw her handle 4-6 customers at once without any issue. I want to see her philosophy and work ethic translate over to all the other public storages and public storageshould reward her for representing this company so gracefully. Contrary to the previous two reviews I've recently had a good experience with this particular PS. The site was clean. The manager (Linda) was quite enthusiastic and professional. I found the facilities easy to navigate and well equipped. With their recent discount campaign, I ended up paying $43 for the first month, and $80 there after for a big walk in closet style storage space. Overall it did the job. And their website reservation system was easy to navigate as well. Perhaps they are reading these reviews and some of the feedback are getting in. read more

I had an existing unit and needed an extra unit so I went online at 11:30 at night and the website says "Hold this unit". I clicked that button as it said there was only 1 space available. I'm then asked to enter my credit card details, which I did. I assumed this was to hold the unit until I had made a decision... I then get an email saying my card was charged the full amount as if I had rented the unit. I called first thing the next morning to cancel and was told I would be credited back everything except the admin fee!!! What admin fee? What did they do between 11:30pm and 9:30am? No amount of arguing with them could make them reverse the "admin" charge. I told them I had only meant to hold the unit I then get my credit card statement and I was credited back everything except for $60.89!!! After 10 min speaking to an extremely rude person on the phone who could only answer in rehearsed script, I was told the 60.89 was for the admin fee and the lock. I didn't even rent the unit and I'm being charged for a lock as well??? Now I have to keep checking my credit card statements to see if I'm actually going to be refunded. Oh... and don't get me started on the rental rate hike every 6 months THIEVES! read more
