I just got a storage unit here and the whole process was easy and simple. Alexis who assisted with me, was very friendly and patient in helping me decide which unit would work best for my needs. It's my first time getting a storage unit, but Alexis listened to all my concerns, answered any questions I had, and explained each step clearly and diligently. I'll update my review of the actual facility and storage unit once I transfer all of my things and after some time. But for now, I'm happy with what I got, and was really impressed with their excellent customer service. read more

This place is horrible! Horrible hours, stupid rules such as "you can't close your door whike inside your unit" and they give you 45 minutes to access your unit which is such a joke specially when the elevator doesn't work and they don't care to fix it, it's been out of service for months. I unfortunately got a unit upstairs to the 2nd floor carrying heavy furniture by myself which took over 5 hours to move all of my stuff out. Bad experience and don't recommend. also, I paid full price and didn't get a discount or anything for being greatly inconvenienced. read more

I'm not sure how other storage facilities work but what will happen here is that they'll rope you in with a fairly reasonable rate, say $227 a month for a 5x7 unit. Then, every few months, they'll raise your rent $50-$100. You will not get a reason for this abrupt and sharp increase, and that's because they're doing it because they can. Because they know the people who rent their spaces are not in a position to immediately vacate and they are going to take advantage of that. In the less than two years since I began renting here my rate went from $227 to $504 a month for the exact same unit. For what it's worth if you inform them you're moving out they will offer to lower your rent. So use that information however you want. read more

My safe was stolen out of my storage unit which had family heirlooms, my passport, and other personal belongings. I was late on my payment and when I paid it I had to buy a new lock for my unit. Whoever is in charge of cutting off the locks after late payments stole my 100lb safe. This place is unreliable and the cops won't do anything. What a disgrace this whole damn place is. BEWARE! Do not give them any reason to cut the locks off your unit. They will steal from you and then play dumb! read more

do not keep your belongings here. had my items stolen and there is basically nothing anybody can do about it except say heres this paper, go through insurance. we had items in our storage that money can not buy!! many people have had their stuff stolen from this location. public storage changed our locks because they noticed our lock was tampered with and we were never notified of anything until we show up and find a new lock and all stuff missing from our storage unit that we pay for on time every month!! this company is shady and nobody is ever here working. my family is very devastated that we got all our priceless stuff stolen from us. read more

The unit wasn't as advertised. I reserved a 5' x 7.5' and got some weird L shaped with a base of 9' x 4.5'. 3' of which was about 8' tall the rest was only 4'. When I spoke to Darlene she stated that they've had this issue before and they'd gladly refund my deposit but the admin fee was non-refundable. They are actively misleading clients with false advertising and cashing in on admin fee's. She stated she was "being nice" by refunding my money when in fact I was holding her to her contractual obligation. It's one thing to scam people but to have an attitude when you get called out is on another level. Stay away or view the unit before you pay, I guarantee it's not what you expect. read more

I booked a space online that was described as a medium room, 10' by 7.5'. When I arrived to see the space I opened the doors to this view; more than half of the cubic sq ft was blocked by this solid wood thing hanging from the ceiling. It's not a partition or a cabinet space, just completely chopped the entire unit into less than half of the advertised usable space. I went back to speak to the manager on duty and she first tried to say "well, what are you trying to put in there?" When I said "that's not the point, I paid for what should be an empty cube", she said "well ten by seven and a half means that it's half available, what do YOU think that meant" what? In what universe would that be the interpretation? She said this facility is mostly "odd sized" units, which is absolutely not advertised and was not explained to me over the phone when I got a confirmation of booking call. Do NOT reserve here online, call and ask what the space actually looks like. Incredibly shady to charge hundreds of dollars for this. read more

I can't even express the level of unprofessionalism and neglect I faced at this location. I reserved my unit online a week in advance. when I got there, my unit was locked. I told the manager and she told me to wait for the locksmith. we waited for about an hour. she came up with story that they could not follow up with previous renter to get the key. The locksmith arrived and all of a sudden the renter of the storage arrived. The manager basically did not know that unit is still occupied and they rented me somebody else's unit. while I was waiting for locksmith I already unloaded my uhaul. They basically told me to take everything back and unit is already rented. Obviously she lied to me about previous renter and just tried to cover herself. Anyway, be advised. read more

I love this particular location! although it's small and have no outside units avail what little they lack is made up 50x more by their best employee's customer service. Sergio is absolutely amazing!!!! He is always so polite and helpful never hesitates to answer questions and never goes without greeting everyone with a smile. He will go above and beyond to not only bring more revenue to the company but great customer satisfaction. I could switch locations since I'm no longer in the area but he is why I stay. My kids are always full of energy and he is their favorite person to see there. So long as Sergio is there so are we. I hope he is paid as much as his service is appreciated. ER Public Storage appears to be an old warehouse that was re-purposed as a consumer storage facility. Pros: It's convenient if you live in Eagle Rock. The End. Cons: Accessibility: Parking is OUTSIDE of the locked entry, so you have haul your materials from your automobile while navigating the entry with every load. The elevator is ancient and operates poorly, and even after using it, you will probably need to use stairs for for most units. Dollies are chained, and they require you to give an ID to unlock; an issue for key retrieval/ID return because the single manager is always away from the office. Condition: Units are plywood build outs. Humidity is such an issue that they sell DampRid on site. Like storing your stuff in a dirty garage. Price: More that double the price of the facility to which I ended up moving. That facility, by the way, is newer, cleaner, and much more accessible. read more

They deserve ZERO stars. They knowingly and self-admittedly LIE to their customers. This is ILLEGAL activity. Read on if you care... Arrived at my scheduled time (2pm Sunday) with a truck full of stuff after placing a reservation for a 5x5 unit two months prior. Daniel apparently had run off with the keys to the facility during his lunch break, and so Patty was unable to show me the unit upon arrival, but "he'll be back soon". Strike #1 Patty then wanted to make sure that I was ok with my unit being accessible only via an 8 foot ladder. What? My reservation clearly states 5x5 with elevator access. No mention of needing to climb a ladder to reach the unit, and just how exactly do they propose I navigate several heavy boxes up this ladder? Patty admitted that "Yeah it doesn't really say on the website about the ladder thing, sorry there's nothing we can do about that but you can rent a 5x7 unit for an additional $35/month". Strike #2. This company admits to false advertising and then is prepared to do nothing about it. In my mind the solution is simple - you give me a 5x5 with regular access, or the next sized up unit at the advertised and agreed upon rate from 2 months ago. Of course Patty responded with "There's nothing I can do". After 5 minutes of back and forth about how obviously misleading their business practices are she suggested we call the district manager, Felipe. Great! She calls Felipe from her iphone on speed-dial. He picks up. Blah blah blah - Patty and Felipe back and forth... the result being that again there is nothing that can be done. I ask to speak to him. He declines. She declines. She suggests I email the corporate office. On a Sunday. With a truck full of stuff and nowhere to put it. Genius! I ask to call Felipe. Patty gives me the corporate number in Glendale followed by a 4-digit employee extension. Three calls and two voicemails later, no response from Felipe - the same person who 10 minutes ago immediately picked up his phone when Patty called him. This is the guy who is ON DUTY for the weekend. I ask Patty for Felipe's cell phone number as this is obviously the number she had used. She says I have to use the corporate number. I ask her if she had used the corporate number to reach him and she says yes. I challenge her and ask if she is lying to me right now. She claims no. But here's the thing - you cannot make a ten digit call followed by a 4-digit extension from an iphone without manually entering those 4 digits after the line has picked up - I tried it to verify. This is not how she reached him, so obviously she had called a different number. More lying from this company and its representatives. Strike #3 With a truck full of stuff and getting nowhere with Patty I decided to take the 5x7 unit and figure out the details with Felipe later. She shows me the 5x7. This unit being "elevator accessible" is actually not. The elevator stops at the end of the hall, then you have to carry your stuff up 8 steps and walk it down the hall. Forget using a cart or hand truck. Patty opens the unit and while it is 5x7, half of the floorspace up to about 4 feet high is unusable because that happens to be occupied by the unit below! So it's 5x7 but about 1/3 of the total volume of the unit is unusable. At this point I decide it's time to leave and take my business elsewhere. What a joke. Rest assured I am now filing a claim with the California Attorney General's Office under Business & Professions Code 17500 and Civil Code 1770 for knowingly making untrue or misleading statements in advertising. read more

Still one star. Finally got the lock broken on the unit after probably being lied to by the DM (claimed to have cut the lock, went out to Eagle Rock again and it hadn't been done. Had to call and leave a message with the Regional Manager that was ALSO never returned, and magically the time was made to go and break the lock.) Didn't recieve ANY money back -- when I closed the unit 3/22 was told that I wouldn't be prorated for the rest of the month AND I was out rent for the time that I was waiting for it to be done. Nobody has reached out to me about making this right. This has been ridiculous. Seriously one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. read more

This is way too expensive for the size for long-term storage. Maybe cheaper in a neighborhood where property values are rock bottom. I thought I needed something convenient and close to me, but turned out not to be necessary. So my advice is if you're looking for long-term storage, search in nearby areas that are less expensive. read more

Please everyone stay away from this location. You will be treated like shit. They are constantly lying. So they tried to break someone else's lock stating that they forgot to take the key from the previous owner. Guess what? 5 minutes before breaking the lock the actual owner of the storage shows up. Basically they rented the same place to too different customers. How can you feel safe about this place when your storage space can be rented by other people? All smiles and friendly talks when he guided me through the rest of my rental process. This place is a smaller location for locals and people with not so much stuff. Before I start want to thank "Lupe" for being professional and responsible doing her job ( she checked/locked my left open locker while I was doing back and forth to my new storage also did paper works fast and easy), so thank you Lupe. As for my Public Storage satisfaction, I should say even if this one is not as new/ high end facility as my previous public Storage ( just in some areas), but this public storage like my previous one gets 5 stars in term of management, security, professional staff and respectful interaction with customers. Manager was helpful-- She checked the lock and called to tell me I had put it on incorrectly. She put a temporary lock on it. They are very strict about closing the gate. The movers were late and we barely made it by 6pm, The gate seems to be secure. Seems pretty expensive. read more

Lost a lot of stuff from this location. Kids clothing, kitchen stuff, my husband car tools and more. I was paying for $280+ for 3years. Hoping it's indoor and my personal belongings are safe. Not knowing everything is being stolen. Stuff I can't replace like my kids personal belongings from they are little. So upsetting. Nothing was done to resolve or replace any. Pls make sure chk on your belongings. They shouldn't have access but who else can steal it. read more

I stored stuff here for several months and never had any problems. Everyone I dealt with was very nice and helpful. Honestly I was a bit nervous to leave my stuff and go across the country for awhile, but everything went smoothly. My only wish is that their hours could be expanded a bit, but I understand they limit them for safety reasons. Overall though, all went well here. read more

I had a similar experience as Andy H. Read his post for details. False advertising on the website re: dimensions of the storage units, accessibility to units. This is a bait + switch business. I reserved a unit online, dimensions sufficient to house my belongings. When I arrived, I discovered that 50% of the unit was built out + belonged to the unit below, thus would not accommodate my things. The unit was on the 2nd floor, accessible via elevator, but the website did not mention the additional stairs needed to be climbed to access the unit + that the moving carts were not usable due to the stairs. I was paying by the hour movers + felt that I had no choice but to take the larger than needed + more than double the price of the "only" unit in the building that was left. When I questioned the customer service rep, Daniel, about the unit dimension discrepancy he replied, "What did you expect given the price?". RUDE. Avoid this place. read more

Happy with my unit, but they sent me a notice of a 31% rent increase 5 months after moving in. District manager's suggestion was to downgrade or move. If you're looking for very short term storage, this place would be fine, but they don't seem interested in fostering long-term customers with bait-and switch tactics like this. Beware. read more

Moving out. The lock was cut off of my friend's unit and a bunch of her belongings were stolen. The only security is an employee walk thru twice a day checking that there are locks on the units. Because the thief replaced the lock with a new one, we have no idea when the robbery happened. The insurance that the company makes you buy doesn't cover you if the lock is cut and replaced!!! There should be security cameras. Also, there are no sprinklers in case of fire. The doors to the units are made of thin wood. Also, when we signed up, they were open until 9pm --- suddenly, a few weeks ago, they started closing at 6pm & didn't notify anyone by email or phone. read more

This location failed to contact me back in a timely manner about questions I had. Left voicemails and sent email to supervisor. I did not receive a respond until I contacted them several times several days later. When I contacted customer service about my concerns, they did nothing but referred back to location. Not satisfied with this location and the way the handle customers concerns. Don't feel a valued customer. read more
