Looking at the 5 star rating of this US STORAGE in Montrose makes me very suspicious about them coercing customers to write good reviews at the point of payment for new customers receiving deceptive discounts which quickly go away. This was my experience with the US STORAGE at Clifton Dr Montrose, CA. The manager made a supreme court case when I refused to review him immediately after the point of contracting US STORAGE on Jan 8, 2025 while being evacuated from my home during the nearby Altadena Fire. My rent rose 20% the day after the CA law protecting customers in emergency fire areas of L.A. County, January of 2025. US STORAGE decided to raise my rent by 39% in July 2026, WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN NOTICE required by CA Senate Bill SB709. California passed Senate Bill 709 (SB 709), officially known as the Self-Service Storage Facility Act, to protect consumers from aggressive price gouging and hidden business practices. I strongly urge customers of US STORAGE in the L.A. area to submit written complaints should they experience what I have, to the BBB, even though BBB isn't enforceable it still shows customer disapproval of US STORAGE and verifies the fake reviews the company generates here. read more

Very greedy company. It isn't the managers fault, he is a good guy. The same size unit 6 miles away will cost me $200 less. They continually raise the prices every few months. It does not matter what is legal or not, it is just what is fair. There are no checks and balances in companies like this one, the prices go up and the bathroom is always out of order. That's strange nothing is upgraded and there's nobody working there except one staff at a time yet the price is 1/4 of what it would cost to rent a studio apartment in Long Beach. . A year ago I needed to cut the lock off my unit due to me losing the keys. They wanted to charge me $85 to use their lock cutter. There is no justification, they do it because they can nickel and dime you like every other business with no other option. read more

This is my go to spot! If you're in anywhere in the vicinity and need an affordable, clean and most importantly SAFE location, you'll be extremely satisfied with this location. I have used this specific location 3 times in the last 10 years and it's always been a pleasant experience. I have rented a storage unit at US Storage Centers in Montrose for many years. Let me tell you what is different. First, the security is second to none. Just look inside their office and you will see 16 security monitors alone with live views. This is the Fort Knox of self storage centers. Second, these people are honest. They don't rip you off with add-ons or false specials. It is very clear what you were paying and the access for trucks and other large moving vehicles is superb. Last, there is a guy that works there by the name of Robert. He personifies what customer service is all about. This is something you would never expect at a storage center but is one of those differentiating factors that makes you a loyal, long-term customer. Last time I was at my unit, I worked many hours, carrying items in and arranging them. Robert saw that I was fairly exhausted and without asking, went back to his officeand grabbed a bottle of cold water for me. This guy always goes above and beyond the call of duty. And always with a smile! Take it from me, you can shop all day long for a storage unit and you won't find a better value, more convenience, or better customer service than this center. read more

Some units leak badly. We have had one unit for a couple of years with no problems. Recently we rented a second unit while getting ready for a move. This unit has an outside wall. This week it rained, and when we went to the unit today we found at least a cup of water caught in the folds of a plastic bag around one of our boxes. Other boxes had water stains. The staff were helpful, and gave us new boxes to move our stuff to, but their main advice was to take pictures and file an insurance claim. I didn't get the sense that anyone thinks leaks are a problem that should be fixed. If you rent here, I'd suggest insisting on an inside unit -- one that doesn't have a cinder block wall. When I originally rented this unit I was in a hurry, and ignored the outside wall. My wife saw that the wall had white markings that looked like minerals left from water. She wanted us to move to a different unit, but I didn't listen. That was dumb -- my mistake. read more
