It was a Saturday and 3 days before my lease was up. When I got there my lock was cut and another lock was on my storage unit. There was nobody on site to tell me why and all their customer service could do was admit I had my bill paid up and reach out to the property manager. They never got back to me. I rented a truck I could not use. Finally, that Monday I went back and saw the property manager, Dianne. She told me that they had to cut my lock because the unit next to mine needed repairs. I asked her why I never received a phone call or even an email but she couldn't answer the question. I asked if she planned on having PS reimburse me for the rental vehicle and she said no they would not. She removed their lock and I replaced it with a new lock that I had purchased. I told her my lease is up in 2 days but I would need another week to move out. She said that would be ok since the all of the inconvenience I had been put through. Three days later I show up with another U-Haul and my lock was again cut off and they placed their lock back on. I had no way of getting my stuff out. I was able to speak with Dianne again a few days later and she said it was because they had to finish the repair work to the unit next to mine. Again no phone call or email. I had to buy another lock to secure my stuff. I learned my lesson the next time and just showed up with a mini van and SUV and made several trips to empty my locker. After several attempts to get reimbursed for my locks ($40) I got ahold of district manager, Justin. Dianne stated that she left him several messages about my situation but he said he was never aware of it. He said he would get back to me in a few days but never did. I left him several messages but he never responded back. I then spoke to district manager Rick Rizzo who listened to my situation. He came back and said I still have a balance of $120. I asked him how could I have a balance when PS locked me out of my unit and prevented me from moving out...TWICE! He said he wouldn't reimburse me for the 2 rental trucks but would get back to me on the cost of the 2 locks they cut. It's been several weeks and Rick Rizzo hasn't returned my calls. I've used PS several times in other locations over the years without issue but this location is horrible. There is no communication and they refuse to take responsibility when they damage your property. Do yourself a favor and lease elsewhere. I'm not leaving a 1 star review I'm leaving 0 stars but Yelp won't let me.

From April to May, the main security gate remained open and broken. Repeatedly driving by and seeing the gate open for anyone to access became increasingly frustrating. I understand we're paying for storage but the purpose of a secured facility is completely undermined if the gate is not maintained or repaired in a timely manner. What finalized my decision to move out of my unit was the extreme disappointment I felt from the lack of urgency in addressing the issue. After doing a bit of research, I can assume why there was no rush. Based on the company policies/terms it seems the condition of the gate does not create a significant liability for CubeSmart. Therefore, if an event does occur, the customers lose, not the company. From this experience, I discovered this company does not prioritize customer concerns when serious issues arise. After moving out due to the circumstances mentioned, I overpaid for three weeks and requested a $75 refund. They denied without hesitation. The only compensation offered during this whole month-long debacle was a $10 credit that could not be applied to my final payment. I called to discuss this and never received a return call. I lost even more money moving units to StorageMart, but I would do it again to avoid this Cubesmart and all others. They clearly do not believe in making an unfortunate situation better for their customers. Fun fact: According to public figures, Cubesmart made $333.8 million dollars in profit last year. They can surely afford to refund their customers when wrongdoing has occured.

She was patient with all of my questions and showed me how to use the gate and the app. She even walked me over to the unit so that I will be familiar during move-in day. I really appreciate Ms. Jennifer S.'s response from Rental Max. Going forward I will rent equipment during only the 1st 15 days of any month so that the rental transaction can & should be completed within a single credit card billing period. I really liked the machine I rented from Rental Max and would like to rent it again :)
