    Brunch drinks galore
    Amanda M.

TLDR: Great Brunch spot. Loved the service, atmosphere, food and drinks. Found this restaurant since my husband wanted to dress up and go out on a Saturday morning brunch. They have complimentary valet parking and it's inside a hotel. The bathrooms are across the lobby and nicely stocked. They offer a mimosa kit bottle service (a must- have for the perfect brunch) and I also got a Bloody Mary. The sparkling wine they used for the Mimosa was delicious and tasted high quality. The juices tasted fresh squeezed. The Bloody Mary was good tasting but I was disappointed in the garnish because I've come to love a plentiful Bloody Mary. In fact, that's mostly how I judge a good Bloody Mary now- if they practically give you an appetizer in your drink! Alas, the beverage itself aside from garnish was great. For food, we ordered the Brisket Benedict for the Savory and the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes for the Sweet. We loved the Benedict, and were slightly disappointed in the pancakes. The presentation was ridiculous with blueberry compote just slabbed over the pancakes. I ended up scraping off a lot of the blueberry compote so I could actually have pancakes without a mouth full of sugary sauce. I had to ask for butter and syrup, because the pancakes themselves were not very flavorful. I would have preferred less compote on top, and a side offering of compote with whipped butter and maple syrup. We took home leftovers and they tasted better reheated. Overall, this restaurant is one we plan to return to and recommend to others!

We had a great dinner experience at Evelyn's tonight. My husband is gluten-free, and our waiter had helpful suggestions about which menu items would be safe for him. I ordered the dirty martini, which had delicious blue cheese stuffed olives. I ordered the pappardelle, which was tender but fork-able. (Is that a word? If not, it is now). My husband had the pork ribs, which fell off the bone, and Brussels sprouts. Our nephew had the burger. Everyone was very pleased with their choices. The dining room is very chill, definitely a relaxed atmosphere. I would go back the next time we're in Nash.

Came back here because I had such great experience the first time around, but was a bit disappointed this time. Came on a Saturday night and it wasn't super busy so I was seated relatively quickly. I went with the agnolotti pasta. This dish was just okay. The filling of charred sweet potato with ricotta was good super flavorful, but the sauce it came with tasted super watered down and bland. It was so strange because at first I would taste the sauce which basically tasted like nothing and then it was followed up by an explosion of flavor once I bit into the pasta. I think this dish has potential, but definitely needs a better sauce. Nevertheless, the vibe and staff here are really great.

Loved everything I ate at Evelyn's, but the short rib was my favorite! They switch their menu up seasonally so I have to wait and see if they ever offer it again. The Brussel sprouts were yummy and I will definitely return.

I was able to have my first experience at Evelyn's recently and it was decadent and delicious. I stopped by here and got drinks and appetizers with a friend. They had just rolled out their new fall menu for cocktails and they were really good! I am blanking on the name but my drink had tequila and citrus/orange flavors. It was refreshing and so good. Their homemade bread/biscuits and butter were utter perfection and the duck croquettes were out of this world. I would love to come here for dinner at some point but this was a great start to my experience here. Staff was friendly however they seemed a little spread thin with servers while we were there.

My husband and I came here for a date night, and it was so lovely! The valet was quick and attentive, and the atmosphere in the hotel is absolutely gorgeous! Evelyn's is beautiful. We tried a little bit of everything. I really enjoyed the roasted carrots, steak frites, and duchess potatoes. The angel food cake was divine, I would return for that alone! I typically love okra, but it was tough. Service was attentive, and our cocktails were delicious. I look forward to returning!

Came in for an anniversary dinner. The restaurant was rather quiet and dim lit. The server was incredibly attentive! I ordered the chicken, which was juicy and crisp on the outside. We ordered the potatoes to share. They were very creamy! My partner ordered the steak frites. He enjoyed the sauce on top and the preparation of the steak. Overall, a great anniversary dinner. Hope they expand their menu a bit. Would love to come back again!

After a long morning of exploring Nashville, we came to Evelyn's for a late lunch. It's also an easy walk from my daughter's apartment. We weren't aware that the entrance is through the Hutton Hotel until the valet guy saw us looking around. He was so nice to show us the way. We arrived just after 2pm to an almost empty restaurant. There was minimal staff that seemed to be prepping for evening service. We were given our choice of seating. We chose a booth by a window. The server that seated us said that her shift was almost over, that she'll get us started then hand over to the bartender (Casey). This happened seamlessly. We ordered the Carbonara Bucatini and Bucksnort Trout. My daughter loved her Carbonara. I found the trout a bit salty but good overall. We were checked on a couple times and our drinks refilled without asking. As we were finishing, we decided that we would share a dessert. Surprisingly the check was brought without giving us the option to order something else. My daughter was so sweet to say in that moment that she would rather have the cookies I baked that morning. With that, we decided to just have dessert at home. The ambiance is very pleasing with elegant light fixtures, lovely seating, soft throw pillows in the booths and touches of holiday decor. I considered Evelyn's for Thanksgiving dinner. They offer a pre-fixed holiday menu for $85 per person. Unfortunately their regular menu would not be available at that time. This did not work for my family so we opted to reserve elsewhere.

For our last night in Nashville, my best friend and I were looking for an amazing and delicious meal and Evelyn's exceeded our expectations. From the amazing cocktails to probably the most delicious buttermilk biscuits that I have ever had in my life. Evelyn's is a beautiful restaurant with a little higher price point but the cocktails, food and service makes it worth every single penny. So, I highly recommend Evelyn's for date night with your friends or partner!

Drinks and breakfast were delicious! We had French Toast, Pancakes and Steak Skillet to share. Generous portions and the service was great! Fast and caring. The Expresso Martini is to die for and they have a great choice for Sauvignon Blanc! The Ambience is cozy.

This was my first time going to Evelyns. We ordered the truffle fries to share. I had to the scallops and my friends both ordered the lobster Mac n cheese and short rib. Every drink we got was amazing and the bar was super cute too, I would definitely recommend sitting at the bar for a drink if you are rushed on time. The lobster Mac n cheese was creamy, but to me it lacked flavor. The lobster was worth the add on. The scallops were good with a southern twist. I would order them again. Evelyns is cute inside, service was nice, food was good not great, drinks were amazing.

Stayed in the Hutton Christmas Day so after a long day of driving, Evelyn's was more than convenient. There were some hits and some misses. The misses were largely in our appetizers. The cornbread was dry and overcooked, strange since it appeared to be individually baked for each order. The table next to us called it horrible. Not sure I would go that far but I wouldn't order it again. The second miss was the scallop appetizer. The scallops themselves were nicely seared and cooked properly but they were oddly paired with a parsnip puree and a chestnut sauce. Just off putting. The mains however were the star. My braised short rib was outstanding. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to an amazing tenderness and kissed with a Demi glacé, this is what I came for. The steak frites was also well done though the cut made for a bit more chew. The accompanying sweet potatoes were very tasty and enjoyed.

    Carrots & scallops.

It's a great wine bar with an amazing selection of natural wines, delicious food, the best service, and an amazing ambiance. What's not to like? Sauced works a little bit differently than a lot of wine bars. We walked in and were welcomed right away. When we grabbed seats at the bar (there are also tables), our bartender (I feel terrible that I'm not 100% sure of his name since we had such a great time with him - but I'm pretty sure it was John) asked us about wines we like or are drawn to. They don't have a printed menu - they ask you what you like or are in the mood for and then they they'll pour you tastes until you find something you love. Then they have several fridges of bottles you can purchase and open. And their selection here is also great. We saw bottles by several winemakers we stalk (when we see, we usually buy). The wines our bartender recommended (based on our tastes and preferences) were great, too. They also have a great menu of food items - great for a meal or a snack. We ordered their mortadella sandwich, which will likely go down as one of my favorite sandwiches of the year (great bread, tons of mortadella, pistachio cream, gooey melted cheese)... I think I covered this already, but the service was excellent: attentive (we didn't have empty glasses for long at all before we were involved in a conversion about what we wanted to pour next), friendly, helpful... The bar itself is also great - tons of character: walls with smoke from candles, great lighting, little intimate nooks for seating... I had a great time at Sauced: great wine, great food, a great time. I'm not in Nashville as often as I should be (in laws), but I'd be happy to visit Sauced every time I'm in Nashville. Sauced might be an outpost of a Brooklyn wine bar, but Nashville is still so lucky to have it. Most cities don't have a wine bar as great as Sauced.

While I enjoy getting to talk to the bartender about what I like or may want to try, if they're busy, I don't want to just spend all of our time asking them the price of things. We definitely had a little sticker shock at the end of the night, but this was also my first time here so that could be something I just wasn't expecting! Aside from that, the service and wines were great. So while it isn't somewhere I see myself putting in my weekly rotation, it's a nice option for a special occasion or nicer evening.

Parking is challenging but the walks aren't too aweful. Postino's brunch is much better than the well known one down the street. The atmosphere is open and relaxed, not crammed. The outdoor seating looks great but not on the chilly day we were here. Reservations are recommended on the weekend and we had them but they wouldn't have been necessary before noon. We were seated by our server upon our arrival. The wine list covers a wide range of flavors but isn't very deep. The full bar can conjure anything. Kyle came back serveral times to get multiple orders. Menu items are closer to tapas to be enjoyed while drinking, so Postino's might not be your number 1 dining location but great for a gather place or pre-dinner cocktail. We popped around the menu trying different things. For us, the bruschetta is reminiscent of smorrebrod, Danish open-faced sandwiches. Those are a hit with us. Everything felt house made with carefully thought out flavors. Tops was the salmon pesto bruschetta and the vanilla glaze dipping sauce for the donut bites. By the way, excellent preparation of the eggs. With its central location, this is a great place for us to gather and talk.

The curse of Rumours continues!…read more I don't know that any business can survive this address. My first BW review of the year and it seems to have come as a surprise. Whispers abound as to whether the issue at VG was a rent hike or whether the owner just lost interest. In any event, it's the same sad story at the corner of 12th and Woodland. And that's too bad because VG acquitted itself nicely. On a Friday in mid-spring it was the exact right place I wanted to be to catch up with a friend. That backyard has been the stuff of legends for every iteration for a reason. If you've been here for a while, you know the score: walk in the front, smile, be greeted, ask for a table outside. That's just what we did. But before that we got drinks. Being a wine bar and being happy hour and being a Friday we went all in on the house red sangria. Served in a pleasantly large goblet, this goodie jar of wine and fruit did the job of quenching thirst and spurring conversation. To add to the libations, we settled on a series of bites: whipped feta (with sourdough -- and every bit of decadent as described in other reviews), olive tapenade (a briny, mound of oil, citrus and herbs) and (skinny) fries with parmesan & white truffle oil. Right?? What a perfect way to end the work week and begin the weekend. We had wonderful service from Abby and stayed on premises well into sundown. There was a steady crowd throughout our visit so I don't think a lack of business was the COD. Whatever the reason, it sort of boggles the mind that a wine bar concept can't stick around in a neighborhood and location that seems to crave it. That curse might be real.

And OBVIOUSLY we had to end the night with a Nutella banana crepe, which is the lightest, tastiest thing to ever grace your lips.
