Local here, and Black Rabbit continues to deliver. I went this time with my boyfriend and we had a gift card, so we decided to stick strictly to the happy hour menu, and wow, such a good move. The $6 margaritas were so good that we each ended up getting three. I especially loved the salt rim, which really made the margaritas for me. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and honestly one of the better happy hour margarita deals I've had in Nashville. Food-wise, the smoked mac and cheese and pork tacos were both incredible. Comforting, flavorful, and way better than what you typically expect from happy hour food. It was one of those meals where you're already planning what you'll order next time while you're still eating. This was actually my second visit. The first time was for dinner when my parents, aunt, uncle, and cousin were in town, and that experience was great too. Both visits have been solid in totally different ways, which says a lot. Initial Reaction: Black Rabbit was a magical spot to enjoy dinner during our most recent stay in Nashville. They had plenty of gluten-free options, which we took advantage of since my wife is celiac. The entrance was very cool as we walked through the open gate. There are several tables in the front, followed by a bar towards the back, before seeing the open-floored kitchen and additional tables and high tops. We liked watching the kitchen prepare the food, which was like a well-oiled machine. We enjoyed some delicious pork tacos, and the bone-in pork chop was magical. Served with a fantastic mustard sauce, the pork chop was incredibly satisfying for both of us. Cocktail-wise, the barrel-aged old fashioned and the "If you got the money, honey" were deeply satisfying that allowed me to live my best life. For dessert, the Nutella mousse was exquisite and delightful that brought us to a place of spiritual purity and strength, strength and spiritual purity. I applaud Black Rabbit for its brilliance. In a city filled with endless options and good food, this place sticks out. It's a welcoming and well designed place that appears built around the food for a relaxing but upscale casual experience The service was great. The waiter knew the food like he had created the menu himself. Very calm but efficient service. The food was High quality, perfect sized portions, amazing flavor. The sourdough app was way more complex and delicious than you might assume from bread. It's apparently a 40 year old starter and instead of going further into everything else, just go try it. Literally everything I ate was amazing!!!!! Went with a group of 5. We started with the beats and Spinach, crab cake and sourdough bread. The butter for the bread was to die for! The beats were tasty and I did not have the crab cake. Everyone said it was good. For my main, I have the rainbow trout. The veggies with it were good. Pretty standard. Someone at the table ordered the pasta and I was blown away! The star really were the drinks! I had an heirloom tomato martini that was so complex and...probably the single best drink I've ever had! Had reservations before a show at TPAC. Walking distance to the venue is quite reasonable. The pasta primavera seemed a little lemon forward at first but as I made my through and got everything mixed in well it balanced out. The dish was tasty. The shrimp in the creole shrimp dish were cooked perfectly, but the rice was a little too el dente. If we were to go back, would definitely get the pasta primavera again, but add the shrimp. Was trying to find a spot for happy hour deals on a Friday, which turns out to be harder then you think as most places only do Mon-Thur. I had a great mule and a couple snacks. Crab cake and brussel sprouts, I really enjoyed both and it was a perfect meal before heading back to the hotel to get ready for a night out. They have a great happy hour, I believe the well drinks are half off! I got a Mexican mule and it was perfect. The sourdough and butter are a great starter especially the butter! The gnocchi is a starter but you could get it for your meal and be satisfied. They have live music some days and I will have to go back for that! Another great gluten-free meal in Nashville. I enjoyed my high-top seat where I could watch the chefs cook. They had a large party, and they weren't missing a beat! It was fun to watch them prep everything. Even with that, our food still came out fast and delicious. I rarely order tacos when I travel, as I am spoiled with good, authentic ones in South Florida, but these pork tacos are legit! The craft cocktails were creative and well-made. A lovely, relaxing venue, off the beaten path. We were looking for a spot to grab a quiet drink after a day of walking though downtown, and were lucky enough to find this place. When we got there, happy hour was still going and there were plenty of seats. Best of all, we avoided the din of Broadway and the dinginess and priciness of Printer's Alley. Great atmosphere , didn't get pictures but we slept the crab cake and the prime NY strip. Because of the time at night they were out of a few things we wanted , diet soda and the wood fired chicken . We came here for a fairly quick dinner and had a great meal with pretty hands off service. We had just missed happy hour, which was a bummer as they have some well priced drinks on happy hour. We ended up splitting a mocktail which was fun and different. We shared the beet salad and the massive pork chop and everything was well seasoned and well cooked. Popping in for their wonderful Happy Hour (4-6 pm M-F) the 4 of us had their well-mixed Old Fashions for a steal at $6. A limited Happy Hour menu but this is a deal and so good. We also ordered some tacos (looked good but I didn't partake); a tomato salad (so fresh) and a loaf of their bread-fabulous. A must do! Black Rabbit is a downtown gem. Downtown, but not in THAT part of downtown where tourists are bumbling drunk with cowboy boots on. The food is great. I've had the crab cake twice as well as the kale salad. The sourdough bread is pretty good as well. They had a wonderful band performing the Friday night I was there as well. From the moment we entered I knew this would be a special experience. Perfect for an intimate meal or date night. My girlfriends and I were sat by the musicians and we enjoyed a lovely evening in this moody dimly lit spot. We ordered cocktails, the sourdough bread app and then main courses. Pros: The food tasted excellent. We ordered bread and salads to start and steaks, pork chop with Brussels sprouts, and pesto gnocchi for our mains. The flavors were spot on. The pork chop was juicy and tender. The steaks were well seasoned. The salads were portioned well for starters and very fresh with an interesting mix of flavors. Cons: Our starter salads were served and after literally two bites our entrees arrived. I ate my salad and by the time I was ready for my pork chop it was on the cool side. The steaks were prepared rare to medium rare vs the requested medium. One slice looked like it may moo. But the guys ate rather than wait for a refire. The Nutella chocolate mousse was not mousse, it was pudding. A delicious pudding. But don't offer mousse if that's not what will be served. Mousse and pudding are two very different desserts that I make from scratch at home. Would we return if we are in Nashville again? Maybe. There are far too many other amazing places to try before taking a second chance on a place that was not all around spectacular. Should you try Black Rabbit? Yes. The food is quite good and the Best Damn G&T was the best damn G&T that I've had in a long time. read more

Had dinner here 2/26. The place and the servers were both nice. The food was tasty, but I think it was all pre-prepared. My two biggest issues were the main dishes came to the table way too fast to have been freshly prepared and they weren't hot. And, the kitchen doesn't pace the meal out. I forgot the names, but they were on the menu on top of each other :) The brussel sprouts were the tastiest ones I've ever had, and I've had a lot! The tamarind pork was tasty--those veggies were everything! The star of the show--the pork rabbit sliders! They literally melted in my mouth. Service was great!
