Great cocktail bar located on the pool level of the Conrad Hotel. There is a great selection of cocktails and beers. Although, while I was here the CO2 was out and they were only serving bottled beer. They have an amazing happy hour with a really decent menu. Atmosphere (5/5): A laid back experience where you can dine in between a pool session. They only serve happy hour to Dinner. Price (5/5): Amazing prices for happy hour. You can easily make the options a meal. Food Quality (5/5): The food was amazing! The happy hour provides a good variety of options. Service (5/5): Great service from host to server. The people here are extremely attentive and kind. read more

Located on the third floor of the Conrad, this bar/ restaurant is a hidden gem. You can choose to sit inside or outside on a protected terrace. The happy hour menu runs from 4-6 (except Sundays) and has some great drinks and food items to choose from. I tried the burger and it was fantastic! I would also recommend the duck fries for a unique flavor experience. The drinks are phenomenal and the servers go above and beyond. read more

A very cute rooftop restaurant and bar at the Conrad. We were helped very quickly and I loved that we could sit wherever we wanted. We got some small bites for dinner which included the Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice, Cheeky Gordita Crunch, and T&R Burger. The crispy rice salmon and Gordita were okay, but the relish and pickles on the burger were really sweet and complimented the burger really well. We also ordered the Diskin Cider which is a local cider, and the White Lotus, a zero-proof cocktail. The cocktail had a really good Smokey flavor that paired with the orange and coconut cream. The staff were really friendly and helpful with suggestions for food and drinks to order. I think this is a great staple when visiting Nashville. read more

So, if you read my review of Blue Aster, the question of where my friend and I were shunted off to is... Thistle & Rye. Upstairs the BA, T&R offers a relaxed lounge experience with cocktails and views. The issue was: we were here at noon. For brunch. Starting to see the issue? Being that we were told to go to a lounge rather than enjoy the brunch reservation I made was rankling to begin with. Making the journey upstairs to find a (rightfully) closed space in which we were the only people was even more frustrating. So... four stars? How? Because David swooped in to fix a mess he didn't make. He was apologetic, courteous, friendly, and helpful... even to an audience (me more than my friend) who wasn't in the mood. He tried his level best to make things better but dietary restrictions, a menu not accustomed to breakasty items and guests who would rather be anywhere but there is a hard situation. As I mentioned in my BA review, my friend and I hadn't seen each other in ten years so we (she more than I) determined to play the cards we were dealt. We talked, laughed, caught up, shared photos, and looked around at the venue that (in another time) we'd enjoy doing all of the above over drinks. Despite the diet issues, she ate the food David was able to whip up. I did not. I was too annoyed to eat (plus, you know, diet issues and the like). To my surprise, our meal was comped and accompanied by yet another apology from David for something he had nothing to do with. Appreciated. While I will never return to Blue Aster, I have to recognize the tenacity of someone opening his doors hours earlier than expected, to serve a couple (who weren't in the greatest of moods) while staying professional, courteous and kind. He must have been a boy scout. That level of hospitality is worth shouting out.* *I tried returning to T&R when a friend of mine was staying at the hotel but it was closed. read more

On the 3rd floor of the Conrad Hotel, Thistle & Rye has a fantastic menu for anyone who wants to try a bunch of different items. I love a well-curated selection, and this place nails it. We tried the whipped ricotta, tuna tartare tostada, and the French fries, which were more like crispy sticks of potato perfection.Beyond the food, the ambiance is sleek. The service was quick and efficient with just the right level of attentiveness. read more

Service was horrible. If you can't handle cash transactions then you need to publicize that fact and go credit-card only - not keep your patrons waiting almost a half-hour for change because you "don't keep cash on hand" for some ridiculous reason and nobody on your staff knows how to get any. Fortunately we were able to come up with enough small bills between us to cover the tab or we'd still be sitting there (unfortunately this meant we couldn't tip our waitress, but we're not going to wait all day for someone to break a twenty.) Won't waste our time coming back here. read more

TLDR: Ambiance was great, our apps and drinks were good. Gets a point for good service, loses a point because our simple orders took incredibly long (did get comped tots for that though). My wife and I treated ourselves to a night out for Valentine's Day (though on the 16th). We stayed at the Conrad and decided to grab drinks/apps at Thistle and Rye before dinner at Hall's across the street. At first glance, it was pretty quiet, but it was a Sunday, so no biggie. We had a resy so they sat us and immediately grabbed our orders. We managed to get Happy Hour orders in just in time and it was pretty dang well priced. My wife got the Mocha Matcha Dream and I got their Happy Hour cocktail, which was an old fashioned (right up my alley), as well as the Cassava Fries. My drink was well balanced and delicious; my wife's was too, once it got to her. Main complaint about everything was the time; her drink came way after mine and our fries took so long they brought us out free sweet potato tots as we were waiting. The sweet potato tots were honestly delicious, better than the fries by far. We didn't get anything else, so I can't comment on the burgers or others things. Both Christian (our server) and Cooper (I think that was the manager's name) were polite and helpful. Mainly, it loses a point for timelineness of our orders. I wouldn't search it out, but if I was staying at the Conrad, it's a great a place for happy hour read more

My husband surprised me with a date night to thistle and rye to celebrate six months of marriage! It was a lovely experience. The restaurant is located on the third floor of the Conrad hotel. Discounted valet is available (and is super friendly and prompt!). It is a positive experience right from the start. We started our meal with seasonal cocktails inspired by a French 75. Absolutely delicious! We loaded up on small plates and loved them all. Out of the Brussels, tuna tostada, shishitos, and galbi, the galbi was my favorite! All four were so good that it will be difficult to try something new on our next visit. There's an awesome happy hour deal that we will definitely be back to try! read more

After our third time trying to get our hands on this burger, we finally succeeded! I am so glad we did because this whole burger was delicious. It was packed with flavor and every bite had everything the burger offered. The dipping sauce added to the amazing taste. The cassava fries and aji amarillo was made perfectly with just enough spice. The bartender and waiter were super friendly and welcoming! The inside of the restaurant was super cute and had lots of photo worthy spots. read more

This place is located in the 3rd floor of the Conrad Hotel. Elevators are located across from the front desk. The restaurant is label in the elevator so it's super easy to find. The food is amazing! They have a mix of Asian, Mexican and American flavors. All bites are shareable so plan to get a few options from the menu to sample around. The service was incredible and friendly. They even have an outdoor seating area with a "manicured lawn!" I recommend getting a group of friends together to have drinks and dinner. You won't be disappointed. read more

We loved our dining and cocktails experience at Thistle and Rye. The atmosphere is cool and sophisticated with friendly and non pretentious service. The highlights of the menu included: Pork Bao Buns, Sticky wings, Spicy tuna temaki, KFC (cauliflower), and Brussel sprouts. For cocktails, We ordered a Ms. Foxy (Whiskey sour inspired) and a Mrs. Murdock (Gin gimlet inspired) and both were delicious. We ordered the Pinot Grigio for our spicy and seafood dishes. And ended the night with the Fonseca Port for dessert! What I will say is in the OpenTable description, I did not notice that it was basically only tapas and not other dishes and that surprised me. The menu is also not updated on OpenTable. But, we still had a good time and enjoyed all the different small dishes we ordered. Would definitely recommend and return! read more

Dine in-house. We came in right behind a bridal party of about 10 but there are so many areas in this bar that that did not make a difference. We ordered Birria quesadillas and 2 Cesar salads, one with chicken the other with steak. I was informed by the bar tender the steak was filet mignon. Off to the room we go to enjoy our meal. Get to the room and No eating utensils. This is like a thing. Several recent take out experiences where I wasn't given utensils Let me tell you, I only eat filet mignon and this was tough and fatty, NOT a filet mignon! I came, saw and wont cut them off but definitely won't get meat or specifically steak. read more

As a hotel guest stopped here for pre dinner drinks on two separate occasions. They do have happy hour from 4 to 6 daily, which includes a special menu of apps, a drink of the day, and craft beers. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. The drinks are phenomenal- even if not staying at this hotel I highly recommend coming for a happy hour or night cap. Mixology is their strong suit. On Friday and Saturday night they even have live music. read more

Beautiful restaurant with a great view! Food was amazing! (Dont be fooled by "small" plates"!) There were 8 of us celebrating a birthday, and Jenna our server did a fabulous job! Prices totally jacked up! Totally shocked! Now a treasured and well waited for and missed !!! Happy Hour treat; a 10 dollar burger and fried( was delicious and well worth the money), deflected my heart !!! Total shock and disappointment!!! The ( BURGER) no FRiES!!! Is 15.00 wow. And a loooong walk. As you can't validate even if eating there. So I had to park and walk. Was so nice to be back and visit. Was terribley sad, the menu was cut in half, so I could not even order some of the happy hour favorites I'd come to adore. Bummer! read more

Stopped in for a snack while waiting for our room. So happy we did. We had a few of the happy hour dishes and loved all 3 of them. I'm not a Brussel sprouts fan but these were . The sauce was delicious and it had some of the crispy burnt ends that were amazing. I'd get this again and again. The Bao Buns were done really well too. Full of flavor and the meat was tender. Perfect! Sticky wings were sooo good. Perfectly cooked and the sauce was great. We had dinner that evening at another restaurant and I was still thinking of these wings! Service was good. Our waiter was attentive at first. When it was time to get the bill it got a little hard to get her attention. All good though. We look forward to eating here again and hanging out on the rooftop once it gets a little warmer. read more

Drinks with my forever girl! Both of us are bartenders so we love to go out in town for drinks at different bars! We tried a total of 5 drinks.. delicious!! We thoroughly loved our drinks & loved Josh as our bartender! I personally had the Mas Tequila & Southern Sunset ! The Mas Tequila was great, especially if you like Paloma's or grapefruit. Both are my fav. The southern sunset was bourbon and bumbu run & was by far my favorite of the two!! Says it's inspired by a mai tai! My best girl ordered the One night in Tokyo, American 75 & taste of paradise. All had pretty presentations. I have it 4 stars because the food I ordered was not great. I did the Cassava fries, they were decent. Not too bad. Also the wings, which were highly salty in my opinion and I asked for fried hard, not the best wings at all for $20. I thought part wings but they were like very small and didn't really even have the shape of a drum or a flat party wing. I wish I took a photo, but it wasn't much to brag on. read more

We stopped here for brunch while staying at the Conrad. We ordered the souffle pancakes and the pandan chicken and waffle. The pancakes were not as fluffy as imagined and lacking in flavor. It definitely did not jiggle like I was hoping for it to. The best part of the dish was honestly the candied pecans as garnish. It was crunchy and sweet and addictive! As for the chicken and waffles, the chicken was battered well although a bit dry. It had a nice five spice flavor. The waffle was soft and lacking in pandan flavor. The only thing special about the waffle was the green color, but aside from that you wouldn't have known it was a pandan waffle. We ordered the Spritz which was refreshing and had a bitter aftertaste similar to grapefruit. read more

We just visited Thistle and Rye and I booked the snow globe experience . Truly one of the worst dinner experiences I have had in Nashville. We were overcharged (via Open Table). The only plus was our waiter. He was great! He was very helpful and very attentive. The food was average at best. The drinks were decent but we spent an absurd amount on appetizers here. We could've gone to Kayne Prime and spent the exact same for a nice steak dinner. Do not recommend. DO NOT RECOMMEND THE CHRISTMAS BAR/EXPERIENCE. Over priced and was not nearly as nice as expected from their Instagram reels. read more

Update: I wanted to share that after my original experience, the management team at Thistle & Rye reached out personally and invited us back for dinner at their sister restaurant, Blue Aster. I really appreciate their responsiveness and the effort to turn the experience around. Thank you again to the team! read more

Great service. Nestled on the 3rd floor of the Conrad hotel, hidden gem. There is both outdoor and indoor seating. We went there for happy hour to try out the food. The burger was amazing. I had a great experience for my first time dining at Thistle & Rye! Our waiter was Karen, who was attentive & offered food & drink suggestions! I had the Wok Fried Brussels Sprouts for my appetizer & Spicy Short Rib Udon for my entree! Both were amazing & I highly advise you give them a try! My coworkers and I stopped in for happy hour after work a few weeks ago. We were initially disappointed by there being only one drink on the happy hour menu, but the food menu was more extensive. Someone in our party is gluten free and told our waiter about the allergy right when we sat down. There was confusion about what gluten is, which is understandable, but our waiter clarified with the kitchen. They brought out the dish without the side of fries (which contained gluten), but the waiter did not tell us that before bringing it out. When we asked for a replacement side, our waiter said the upcharge is too much for a different vegetable (brussel sprouts) but that we could get salmon tartare or kefta as a side instead. Then the waiter came back out after we were almost done with our meals to say they can actually make brussel sprouts as the side and brought some out a few minutes later. Once we all finished, the waiter brought out another side of brussel sprouts saying that the previous one he brought out wasn't gluten free. He asked what he should do, but we had already eaten them... the bill was not comped and they did not seem to care about the allergy or mess up on the kitchen/waiter's behalf. Needless to say, we will not be retuning which is a bummer because the food had potential to be good. read more
