We went to folk the day after we went to Rolf and daughters, because we had such a wonderful time there. Our waitress Megan at Rolf and daughters was amazing, and the food was outstanding. When we were eating at folk they sent a few dishes to us on the house and when I asked our waiter Ben (another phenomenal waiter) why they sent the dishes he said the staff recognized us and knew we were at Rolf and Daughter's the night before. Honestly the extra food was nice but the fact that they were so aware and recognized us (our reservations were under completely different names) is amazing. This staff is top notch. The kitchens are both well oiled machines with well thought out and creative recipes in both restaurants. I was not surprised when I found out the chef at Rolf and daughters came from Pujol in CDMX as that is my favorite restaurant of all times. You will be happy having a meal at either place. Overall, the food was just okay. Maybe it was overhyped, but it didn't hit the bar for me. They're known for their clam pizza which was interesting, but I wouldn't get it again. It was too wet for the crust and the clam overpowered everything else on it. The other pizzas were fine, but nothing blew me away. The crust was better on the pizzas I will point out. The vegetables were very good, the salads were refreshing and I appreciate a good kale salad. The appetizers were alright, not great but okay. Brighter, big window sister to Rolf and Daughters, this has a neighborhood bar feel, but has good, full service, with a full bar and exotic wine list. The Beef Tartare maybe has too many toppings and the toast is tough. The Tomato, Parmesan, Oregano pizza is just that, nothing else, on a thin crust. Great food, excellent service , ambiance and mediocre drinks. Dined here with a group of friends and service was spectacular. They helped elect and accommodated a menu to everyone's liking, We sampled a great portion of the menu and it all was really good. Really enjoyed the pizzas, asparagus and spring greens salad. The desserts were delicious. My favorite was the rhubarb sherbet with the buckwheat pizelle. The inside is warm, welcoming and lots of greenery. This is a must go to restaurant in Nashville! We ordered the focaccia and olives to start and they were so good. The focaccia is a must get. We also got the citrus salad which was good. For the main we had the margarita pizza which was off menu but really good. For dessert we got the tiramisu which was a skip for us. The server came to our table promptly and let us know we could order from the happy hour menu for the next 5 minutes. (I love a deal as much as the next guy:) We ordered our appetizers from the happy hour choices and dinner off the main menu. The bottle of wine came from the happy hour menu and was a good one. We ordered multiple pizzas to share for dinner plus all the vegetable plates. The kale salad was a favorite here. The fall squash pizza is very good and the lamb pizza added spice to the meal. I think I'd give this restaurant 10-stars if we could. Went there with our very discriminating (read, picky) family. And even though they weren't familiar with any of the foods... They loved it! Very delicious. The sweet potato falafel felt like a clever, cozy twist- crispy on the outside, hearty on the inside, with just enough warmth from the spices to make you lean in. The pizza - amazing! I can't believe it took us so long to go to folk. I've been hearing about it for years and we finally went over the summer and it was better than I could have hoped. The menu is broken down so that top portions can be shared with the table, middle section is larger entrees, and the incredible pizzas at the bottom. Heads up to anyone ordering the focaccia: look at the menu before the server starts making suggestions. Folk lists actual focaccia pairings -- whipped ricotta (which comes with the bread for $7) and stracciatella ($10). We didn't get steered to either. We ordered the focaccia as an appetizer and it arrived completely plain. Other tables were dipping theirs in something whipped that looked great, so we asked. Our server offered oil and balsamic -- no mention of price, no mention of the actual menu items other tables were eating. A second server circled back to say the oil would be extra. Sure, fine. What showed up was a tiny dish, maybe two inches across with a quarter inch of oil in it. Six dollars. On top of the $4 for the plain focaccia. So we paid $10 for an off-menu workaround when the menu had two purpose-built options sitting right there, one of them cheaper than what we ended up with. This spot has truly never been a let down for us and is our go-to date night spot. We love their other location Rolf & Daughters, same chef, level of excellence, and intention. We order the littleneck clam pizza every. time. without hesitation. And anyone we've brought with us who visits into town, they loooove. Came here a while ago with a reservation on a Saturday. We were seated at high table near the window which was nice. The restaurant was otherwise pretty packed which had us super excited for a good meal. We wanted to taste a little bit of everything so my friend and I split a few items. To start we had the stracciatella which came with bread. The bread was fresh out of the oven and the stracciatella was stringy and delicious. We also had Caesar salad. This was super crispy and fresh with amazing toppings that added another layer of crunch. We then had the clam pizza which we heard is a specialty of the restaurant. We were somewhat disappointed by this though. We did not feel like the clam fit in well with the other ingredients on the pizza and overall just thought it was strange. We also had the Chicken Milanese. This was well breaded and fried/baked, but the sauce on top was a bit overpowering for the dish and didn't mix well with the tomatoes and chicken. Made a reservation to dine with a few colleagues from work while visiting Nashville. We were impacted by flight delays and the restaurant was friendly and accommodating when I called to modify the time and number of guests for the reservation. The blue fin tuna wasn't my fav with a lot of olive oil and small portions for the price. The pizza took about 20 minutes gap in between dishes to arrive. My husband and I went for our 2 year wedding anniversary and when we walked in, they had personalized menus that said "happy anniversary" on them! Such a sweet little touch. Our waiter was very helpful and recommended some of his favorites. We went with the focaccia bread (it's a MUST), the olives, and one of the pizzas. It was all so delicious. My one gripe was that the table were pretty close together, so when you're having a conversation, you battle talking over the people around you. But the atmosphere was very welcoming. Very authentic. To start off, the interior and service here were both incredible. It's super cute inside and our waitress was so kind and attentive. Parking was not bad, lots of street parking on the street over. But to be honest, I was a little disappointed with the food. We got the focaccia and stracciatella to start which were both really good, and the citrus salad which was my favorite thing I had all night. We then got the chicken Milanese and the pepperoni and jalepeno pizza. The chicken portion was huge, but it just wasn't my favorite with the thick breading. She wrote out a list of 8 other great dinning experiences in the hood that had strong food. Folk was on her MUST TRY LIST. What is better for a large night snack than pizza? People were actually talking, laughing and smiling at each other. The bar, outdoor seating and inside was popping. It had a upscale vibe of a place you wanted to go for a date. The pizza was hot, flavorful and had a great chew. It was not over seasoned and all elements were tasty. I scanned the menu as I waited and noted several other dishes I would love to try. Folk is a HIGHLIGHT of the Nashville culinary scene! I came here on a double date while visiting this gorgeous city. Definitely make reservations. Street parking can be a bit of a challenge, so make sure to allot a little extra time. Our group was seated promptly by the friendly waitstaff. The whole way to the table, I was in awe of how cute and classy restaurant looked. We ordered a TON of food to share, and unsurprisingly, the highly-recommended Littleneck Clams Pizza was one of the best menu items. Our appetizers included Anchovies, Mussels, Bread, and Caesar Salad. Alongside the pizza, we got Eggplant Parmesan, Steak, and Trout. Not sure how often they rotate their menu, but everything was incredible. For dessert, we wrapped up with Tiramisu. Not to mention, every cocktail we tried was refreshing and flavorful. The orange wine was fine, nothing spectacular. The slacked out was good initially but then became a bit much over time. For apps, we got the focaccia with whipped ricotta and chili oil. The chili oil was delicious and the focaccia was good. The whipped ricotta was very bland - needed more salt and flavor to add some depth. For dinner, we got the clam pizza which was the star of the night. 10/10 recommend. For dessert, we got the tiramisu. The portion was huge and the flavor was good but the lady finger layer was too dry and the texture was off for the entire dessert and as a result didn't enjoy it as much as we wanted to. This little restaurant is located in East Nashville and boasts a romantic, casual vibe. There is no parking lot but plenty of street parking on Wilburn street. I made a reservation the night before. They do wait for the whole party to arrive before seating, but once everyone did, we were good to go! Our server was absolutely incredible and walked us through the menu. We asked him for his recommendations and ordered accordingly. Boy, did he do a good job! We LOVED every dish he recommended: Wild nettle, pickled ramp, mozzarella, sausage pizza 5/5: A pesto like pizza base, very light and thin crust, very unique and delicious. Littleneck clams, parsley, bonito, lemon pizza 10000/5: A fan favorite of the night!! This pizza was literally melting in my mouth, and I didn't know that was possible. Whatever you do, get this one! Pastured chicken + 'nudja butter 5/5: This chicken was cooked to absolute perfection with a crispy outside and soft inside. The sauce has a nice kick as well! Really good, shareable plates. The clam pizza is an absolute must, as well as the cucumber/peach/smoked gouda salad. The flavor pairings they have are unique and innovative, something you don't see as often in places like this. I would also honestly come back here just for a pizza tasting, as ALL the pizzas look divine. The interior is very sleek and clean, and there is parking along and down the side street outside. Our server was very attentive, checked in on us very frequently, and even kept bringing us water for hours while we talked after finishing our food. Here's what we tried: -Focaccia: 7.5/10 - It was a good focaccia, with a nice salty exterior and a bubbly top. My only issue was that the crumb was tighter than I would want it ideally in focaccia, but I still enjoyed it dipped in the oil and vinegar. -Cucumber, peach, smoked gouda salad: 9.5/10 - Oh my goodness what a surprising yet wonderful pairing. The cucumber was fresh, the peach was sweet, the mint was zingy, and the smoked gouda was shaved thinly so it almost melted in your mouth. When having a bite with all the ingredients in it, you understand why they were brought together in this way: the richness of the cheese marries perfectly with the vibrant flavors of the rest of the salad. -Littleneck clam pizza: 10/10 - I understand the hype! MUST try. So incredibly good. The crust was thin and crispy, yet not burnt or dry. The pizza was so creamy, and the flavor began with an umami, clammy fishiness and ended with a kick of heat that was absolutely necessary. Could not recommend enough. -Beef tartare on sourdough: 8/10 - The sourdough bread was perfect in texture and nutty, sour deliciousness. The flavor of the the tartare itself was on point, and very vinegary from the cornichons, but it was lukewarm and almost ground. It would have been much more elevated if the beef was in larger chunks, and came cold. I would have also liked a bit of spice in this dish as well. -Red Beet & Bone Marrow: 6.5/10 - I wanted to love this one so badly, but was a bit disappointed. I adore bone marrow, and I wish that there had been more of it in this dish. It was mostly just large pieces of beet cooked in bone marrow, so the flavor of the marrow was present, but still lacking. The caramelized onions were a good touch, but there was just so much beet that the texture became a bit repetitive and overwhelming. Adding a pistachio crunch and some actual bone marrow would have varied the textures enough to bring the dish to the next level. -Tiramisu: 7.5/10 - I never am one to go for Tiramisu, but this one was pretty good. It had a coffee-forward flavor, with a sweet, fluffy cream, and a topping of bitter cocoa powder. The lady fingers were denser than some, but I'd say this is about your average tiramisu. This was my second time at Folk. Although the service is here is amazing and we were tended to very promptly, the food failed to make up for everything else. And food is why we come to eat, right? Some may say that this type of new american style is their cup of tea, but I think the creations on the menu lacked cohesiveness in flavors. Our meal started off great with the focaccia and anchovies. Really delicious. This set us up for pretty decent expectations for the bigger plates and pizza. Pizza (mushroom, if i remember correctly, and a rabe pizza) was really salty (commented by all 5 of us diners). There was a salad we ordered, too, that was kind of weird - chopped romaine leaves with a LOT of grated cheddar cheese on top and another ingredient I can't remember. Ordered another dish but don't remember it either but do remember it being super salty. Lots of 'dont remembers' bc it was quite an unmemorable meal, sadly. I I'm not sure I agree with the other reviewer about the tiramisu - it tasted like grocery store tiramisu, honestly. The blood orange sorbet was so much better. Folk is a nice restaurant located in East Nashville with a variety of menu items. Their menu is more of a fusion of different cuisines, offering a variety of diverse flavors. Their menu does change frequently based on what is available, providing their customers with the freshest ingredients. My mother and I came here on a Saturday night with a reservation. I would recommend getting a reservation because it is a sought after eatery and will get busy. Surprisingly, parking wasn't an issue, there is a large grass lot near by that is free to park in! The interior is rustic and chic with lots of pretty greenery. It was very clean and the service was attentive. Our server was able to guide us through the menu and explain and answer questions about each dish. To start, we ordered the mandarin salad. This was a very unique salad with flavors I would have never considered putting together. It consisted of kishu mandarin oranges, castelvetrano olives, smoked chili, pistachios, and shaved parmesan. The oranges were so plump with a nice sweetness, pairing perfectly with the saltiness of the olives. The pistachios added a little bit of a smokiness and crunch and the parmesan was some of the best tasting parmesan we've had. We were both blown away with the flavor and appreciated the freshness of the salad, would recommend! Next we ordered two pizzas, the butternut squash and the littleneck clam. The butternut squash pizza had generous amounts of squash, kale, smoked mozzarella, and chilis. The chilis added an element of heat, not spiciness, to the pizza. The heat of the chilis combined with the slight sweetness of the squash, and the smokiness of the mozzarella provided for a great pizza. Next was the littleneck clam pizza with ample amounts of clams, parsley, bonito, and lemon. This was one of the reasons why we decided to come here, specially for the clam pizza! The clams were not overly salty and the sauce they used was light, with a slight butteriness to it. The lemon amplified the flavors of the clams and parsley. This is an amazing pizza, one of the best we've had, and I would highly recommend. Both pizzas were great! They are about 12" with a thin crust. They are light and cooked to perfection! You can really taste the quality of ingredients and passion in the food. Overall Folk is a great restaurant in Nashville. It is considered one of the top places to eat right now, and I see why! The service is attentive and very welcoming. The restaurant has a lovely feel to it with the plants and the rustic elements. The food is of top quality and the flavors are unique with bold combinations. We had nothing but great things to say about our experience at Folk and will be returning for that clam pizza! read more

Pretty easy to get a dinner reservation on a weekend a couple weeks out. They even added the nice touch of printing "happy birthday" at the top of the menu. We started with the corn stracciatella which was pretty good, then again I'm just a big fan of corn in general. The butternut squash wasn't my favorite - well cooked but the flavor just wasn't for me. Maybe a little too sweet. The anchovies were just served in oil and were incredibly salty on their own. Although so amazing when we ate them with some of the crust on the pizza. Wish they served them with some bread. The clam pizza gets its own paragraph because it was AMAZING. The crust and dough was perfectly and slightly charred, crispy on the bottom even with liquidy deliciousness on top. The clams and sauce were just perfect. Definitely the best part of the meal and a must order. Would definitely go back but next time, I'd order two pizzas and less of the other stuff. read more
