    Happy hour

I mean, where do I start! My personal favorite fancy way to dine! Exceptional food and cocktails. Great happy hour deals. Try "my special dinner": a dozen of happy hour oysters and a Vespa! Service is great, good people, professionals and what they do and treat your orders with attention. Ambiance is fresh, beachy vibe of costal hospitality and love. Great date night venue but also I come here with my toddler for a mommy and baby dates or by myself and the mood is just right.

Been meaning to try this place - it's quickly turned into one of my Nashville favorites! Restaurant itself is located in Germantown and has a lively modern coastal vibe to it. We sat at the oyster bar, which was a cool spot to watch the kitchen in action. We ordered the whiskey rebellion and the gold rush for a drink - both good, but the whiskey rebellion was definitely better. We started with the octopus and smoked fish dip - both absolute must do's! The octopus was so unique - lightly fried and was served similar to calamari. The smoked fish dip was so fresh and flavorful - not your run of the mill smoked dip! For the entrees, we had the mussels and fettuccine with a side of carrots. Mussels were good, but as expected with this dish. The fettuccine was seriously fantastic - you gotta try this one! Living just a couple blocks away, I am excited to have a new favorite within a stone's throw. Can't wait to go back and order new things!

Had an amazing meal here, the food was fresh and prepared in an open kitchen. The restaurant was clean and all those simple very appealing. And the service was amazing. Definitely will try again when I come back into town.

Really fun place !! Highly recommend attending for celebrations. They actually printed out menus celebrating my friend's birthday which was such a cool touch. Street parking is pretty accessible and they have a small parking lot a short walk away. Their menu is excellent and offers so many options. They recommend sharing and ordering a few different plates. The risotto really took my friends and I by surprise & the gnocchi was delicious. Not a lot of vegetarian options but the kitchen was able to make some modifications !

We shared everything. It was a nice dining experience. Service is great! Chairs are not comfy and the noise level is intense.

I had a birthday dinner here with a friend and I think it might be my new favorite restaurant! I didn't know if be able to find good oysters so far from the coast, but I was proven wrong. The space was so beautifully decorated and the attention to detail was mind blowing! They had menus with "happy birthday" printed on them, they automatically brought us a glass of champagne to toast, and were so attentive and timely with bringing food out. I literally can't wait to go visit again! I also love that they do happy hour for the oysters where the week nights from 5-6pm and weekends from 1-2pm a chefs choice of oysters are $2 per shell. I can't recommend this place more! What I ordered: -Happy Hour oysters (it was the Murder Pointe ones when we went) -Beef tartare -Gnocci -Caramel Chocolate Tart

Celebrated my birthday here. They kicked things off with a complimentary glass of bubbly and a designated birthday menu - both nice touches. My boyfriend and I shared: + Green curry oysters + Tomato salad + Gnocchi + Cobia crudo + Peach cobbler Best dishes were the tomato salad and gnocchi. Also really liked the dessert. So why not a 5? Wait between courses was super long and not all of the food was a hit. (The crudo had nice presentation but the flavors weren't there... maybe that type of fish is just meh?) But service was great and the gnocchi is really a standout. I would return for their famous oyster happy hour!!

HR never disappoints. Whether sitting at the bar, or a table. Service is top notch and you can expect anything you order will be expertly prepared. We have easily consumed a couple hundred oysters in our years coming to HR. Every one tastes incredible and I can count on one hand the amount of times we've had a piece of shell. Incredibly impressive. Don't bother going anywhere else for oysters.

Overall a very nice spot. The bar room when you walk in has a really great set up with lighting and ambiance. If I lived closer, I would definitely enjoy meeting up with friends regularly at this bar area! Main dining is a bit brighter, clean, crisp. A lot of great oyster options. The warm bread and anchovy butter seemed to be a general dining offering from our server, before we even saw the menu, but was actually a menu order; the anchovy butter was a bit too much for my taste, but the bread was amazing. Steak tartare was a non traditional set up & tasted great. Having the separate bread order went well with this as the steak tartare is not served with such. We went with main menu items of braised pork gnocchi and pork chop. The pork chop was a bit tough, but the sauce for it was spectacular. The gnocchi dish was lots of flavor and an impressive dish overall.

Good- fettuccine was cooked to perfection; octopus was soft and moist; oyster was sweet and fresh Bad- poor service from server; bread service was a huge lump that you had to cut it yourself (they can't cut it???); grouper was slightly over cooked; king oyster mushroom- taste like any other mushroom

Just simply fantastic bday dinner for a friend. This was a while ago and I just want to say, we had a wonderful time here with delicious foods and fantastic service in a simple but elegant down to earth vibe place. Everything from the drinks to the foods are just an experience not to forget. Thank you so much and can't wait to come back and try new dishes.

Awesome hotspot! Happy hour is only 1 hour from 5-6p but it is totally worth it if you can catch it. Got the only oysters on happy hour which were the murder point from Alabama and they were clean, not briny and butter, just how I like them. So got lucky on getting the kind I like. Also had to try their green curry and Sichuan chili oysters and they were fantastic. All the oysters paired perfectly with the cava. Service was so good and was checked up on when needed. Place had nice comfy lounge seatings by the bar

I have been meaning to try this and am glad I finally did! I made a reservation for 530 for a few friends and we were able to catch the end of happy hour. I had the French 75 from their happy hour which was such a steal and was refreshingly delicious. We also had a few oysters from the happy hour menu which we enjoyed. The staff was kind and offered lots of great food recommendations that helped us with our order and we ultimately opted to get several dishes which we shared. The Mesclun Salad was definitely the highlight of the meal for me, truly one of the best salads I've had in a while. It had fresh strawberries, basil, hazelnuts and goat cheese at the bottom that just tied the dish together all too well. The beets were well cooked and seasoned and the roasted carrots were also good, blending sweet and spicy in such an unexpected way, but I would probably skip these next time. There entrees were a bit of a mixed bag for me. We had the gnocchi which came with tender pork, but I felt like the dish was missing something and it just didn't hit in the same way the starters did. Meanwhile, the fettuccine was great with some crispiness from the caramelized onions which gave the dish a surprise crunch and the flavors mixed well together, though the portion was a bit small. I loved the calm atmosphere of the restaurant as well. Overall, I am glad I tried this as the salad alone was worth it, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back here.

Geist was amazing!…read more The atmosphere is truly one of the best in the city, especially when they have the place decorated for the holidays. On top of that, our server was hands down the best we've had in a long time. The drink menu was a little limited, but every cocktail we tried tasted really good. We started with the Caesar salad, and honestly that was the one miss of the night. It had a bit of a weird taste to it. Everything after that was fantastic though. I got the lamb chop and my fiancé got the filet, and both were cooked to perfection. For sides, the truffle fries and Brussels sprouts were standouts that I highly recommend. Will definitely be back!

We've had some absolutely amazing food in Nashville thus far, and I really wanted to love Geist…read morebecause the space is absolutely beautiful and definitely gave a great first impression. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. We ordered the biscuits and gravy with fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and two iced coffees. The coffee was good but the food was, honestly, borderline inedible and not at all what we expected. What was even more disappointing was the response when our server asked how everything was. We were honest and told her we didn't like the food. Her only response was, "Awww," before walking away. There was no offer to make it right, no follow-up, and no manager checked on us. When our table was cleared, our plates were still nearly full. For a bill of around $100 for brunch for two, I expected much better food and customer service. The beautiful setting wasn't enough to make up for the disappointing meal and lack of concern when we shared our experience.

Stumbled in here after dinner to their one year birthday party and it was awesome!…read more Very lively band (The Magi Music) and half off specific menu items. What a great way to check this place out for the first time. Very cool 70s/underground/hipster vibe. So much going on, good for everyone. Dance, drink, have a bite, relax in the conversation pit. It was pretty packed but we managed to have quick service. The happy hour meal deal looks great so we'll be back to try it.

So I normally only review fast food restaurants but I have to do this…read more I'm sorry I really tried to like this bar. The layout and aesthetic is great. It has so much potential to be cool but it just fails to deliver. Me and my girlfriend have been there three times and each time we say to each other "maybe this time it will redeem". Here's a brief rundown. 1. First visit- we came right after they opened and were excited because the location is amazing. We had some drinks and were dancing and were threatened to get kicked out by the bouncer because we "might hurt someone". Mind you, the bar was almost empty since they just opened. 2. We met up with some friends there for a couple drinks. For reference I'm more of a beer drinker and I understand that close company is primarily a cocktail bar. I was mocked by the bar tender for trying to order a beer at a cocktail bar, which I don't take super personally. It's whatever. My girlfriend who is very into cocktails orders a dirty martini, which they pour premade out of a bottle. That's lousy for a cocktail bar. 3. Came back again. Had some pony beers (I know better now) and my girlfriend had a martini which I will say was great and much better. We close out and my tab was 150$. Something's clearly wrong. They had charged multiple shots of tequila and another random drink on my tab which the bartender very kindly removed (thank you who ever are). Short story long, if you want a dark packed bar with poor service and broadway prices... go to Broadway.
