Been meaning to try this place - it's quickly turned into one of my Nashville favorites! Restaurant itself is located in Germantown and has a lively modern coastal vibe to it. We sat at the oyster bar, which was a cool spot to watch the kitchen in action. We ordered the whiskey rebellion and the gold rush for a drink - both good, but the whiskey rebellion was definitely better. We started with the octopus and smoked fish dip - both absolute must do's! The octopus was so unique - lightly fried and was served similar to calamari. The smoked fish dip was so fresh and flavorful - not your run of the mill smoked dip! For the entrees, we had the mussels and fettuccine with a side of carrots. Mussels were good, but as expected with this dish. The fettuccine was seriously fantastic - you gotta try this one! Visited on a Saturday during Happy Hour with my sister and got oysters and the gnocchi to split. The oysters were fresh and due to happy hour one type was $2 per oyster. There was only one wood fired oyster option - green curry oyster - which was delicious. We ordered two plates of it. We each ordered a drink which was $10 because of happy hour, we decided to add the gnocchi after seeing the table next to us order it and it was delicious and after the oysters the perfect meal to split between the two of us. Service was great, everyone was super helpful and we were celebrating a birthday and the menu had Happy Birthday on it. The restaurant was about 50% full and filling up as we ate but still quiet and cozy. Would recommend and would definitely return for the oysters! read more

Really fun place !! Highly recommend attending for celebrations. They actually printed out menus celebrating my friend's birthday which was such a cool touch. Street parking is pretty accessible and they have a small parking lot a short walk away. Their menu is excellent and offers so many options. They recommend sharing and ordering a few different plates. The risotto really took my friends and I by surprise & the gnocchi was delicious. I had a birthday dinner here with a friend and I think it might be my new favorite restaurant! I didn't know if be able to find good oysters so far from the coast, but I was proven wrong. The space was so beautifully decorated and the attention to detail was mind blowing! They had menus with "happy birthday" printed on them, they automatically brought us a glass of champagne to toast, and were so attentive and timely with bringing food out. I literally can't wait to go visit again! I also love that they do happy hour for the oysters where the week nights from 5-6pm and weekends from 1-2pm a chefs choice of oysters are $2 per shell. HR never disappoints. Whether sitting at the bar, or a table. Service is top notch and you can expect anything you order will be expertly prepared. We have easily consumed a couple hundred oysters in our years coming to HR. Every one tastes incredible and I can count on one hand the amount of times we've had a piece of shell. The warm bread and anchovy butter seemed to be a general dining offering from our server, before we even saw the menu, but was actually a menu order; the anchovy butter was a bit too much for my taste, but the bread was amazing. Steak tartare was a non traditional set up & tasted great. Having the separate bread order went well with this as the steak tartare is not served with such. We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary here, and we had a lovely time! The team even printed "Happy Anniversary" on our menus, which made us feel extra special before we even placed our order. I made our reservation for 5:30 PM so we could catch the tail end of happy hour. The drink specials are decent - although you should note before arriving that only one variety of oyster is $2 each during happy hour, and it's not any oyster for $2 like we incorrectly assumed. We shared a plate of a dozen oysters, and everything tasted fresh! I love that they have offerings from across the country. After that, we worked our way through several dishes from the regular menu, including the Delicata Squash salad, the King Trumpet Mushroom, the Wood Roasted Cabbage, and the Whole Trout. The Delicata Squash was my favorite dish by far ... I've truly never experienced an autumnal salad quite like this one. To my surprise, the Trout was also a standout for me, as I'm not the biggest seafood lover. It was buttery and full of flavor without tasting fishy in the slightest. For dessert, we enjoyed the Toasted Marshmallow Crémeux. There were actually several savory components to this dessert, which balanced out the sweetness to create a delightful finish to our meal. It's gorgeous and modern inside the restaurant, with a large window into the kitchen where you can see the wood-fired oven. I have been meaning to try this and am glad I finally did! I made a reservation for 530 for a few friends and we were able to catch the end of happy hour. I had the French 75 from their happy hour which was such a steal and was refreshingly delicious. We also had a few oysters from the happy hour menu which we enjoyed. The staff was kind and offered lots of great food recommendations that helped us with our order and we ultimately opted to get several dishes which we shared. The Mesclun Salad was definitely the highlight of the meal for me, truly one of the best salads I've had in a while. It had fresh strawberries, basil, hazelnuts and goat cheese at the bottom that just tied the dish together all too well. The beets were well cooked and seasoned and the roasted carrots were also good, blending sweet and spicy in such an unexpected way, but I would probably skip these next time. There entrees were a bit of a mixed bag for me. We had the gnocchi which came with tender pork, but I felt like the dish was missing something and it just didn't hit in the same way the starters did. Meanwhile, the fettuccine was great with some crispiness from the caramelized onions which gave the dish a surprise crunch and the flavors mixed well together, though the portion was a bit small. Awesome hotspot! Happy hour is only 1 hour from 5-6p but it is totally worth it if you can catch it. Got the only oysters on happy hour which were the murder point from Alabama and they were clean, not briny and butter, just how I like them. So got lucky on getting the kind I like. Unfortunately, I don't understand the hype. Service left a lot to be desired. Taylor R had an objection to almost everything I asked. Including asking about swapping squash types in a dish. Then was short/snippy when I asked if there were any off menu sides available (a la potato/rice etc). The answer was no. So, poor service. Inflexible menu options and small portions. The sunchokes in the scallop dish had a sauce that was bitter. Photos show a green sauce in the scallop dish, but mine didn't have it. Uneven sear on the scallops. Didn't have reservations, so came here when it open to catch a seat at the bar. Ambience is very chill not very loud and moody with the lighting. The food was great. My favorite dish hands down was a gnocchi. Followed by the scallops and risotto. Pork came out pretty late so to me could be that we got full. I'm new to eating oysters, and I enjoyed the variety of flavors and tasting notes. My main course was whole trout. Wow! This dish has complexity and depth. The fish skin is super crispy. Friends in CT recommended this place so we put it on our list and it did not disappoint. They have a parking lot which was key. Fun interior, room in the back for a private party. Noise level is lively but we were just two so could hear each other. Super service! Our server recommended great dishes and was very attentive, we were never rushed. Wood fired bread ($7) With anchovy butter, it was good, but the fact that you have to pay $7 for a small portion of well salted but not exactly blowing-your-mind bread doesn't sit well. Oysters ($3.5-4.5/ea) There's a sushi style order form just for oysters so I chose four different kinds. They're all delicious and fresh but quite small in size. I could have easily eaten 8 without hesitation. Beet Salad ($20) With tahini, mint, wheat berry and mizuna. The tahini makes for a very creamy, almost gooey texture - it needs a crispy ingredient to balance it out Whole Trout ($42 With leeks, arugula, boquerones, and beurre blanc. Coming from California, I was super disappointed by their weird dishes. I normally LOVE quiche and would always order it, but here it was not good at all. The cheese they use is Fontina, which was so overpowering and salty, the quiche had no mushrooms or spinach in it, and I ate some of it, but couldn't get most of it down. The coffee was like mud, and even the server agreed they have the worst coffee, he can't drink it either and said he'd take it off my bill. I know they require reservations way in advance, but I was shocked at what the draw here is. I love oysters, but she is a little bit wary of them. Henrietta Red changed her mind! The $2 happy hour oysters are a great deal and the Tommy Margarita and happy hour daiquiri were as well. Our waitress was so nice and very knowledgeable on their menu. The restaurant itself is so beautiful and has such a nice open and airy field to it. I initially went to Henrietta Red because I was looking for some good crab dip. Reviews raved about this dip, but unfortunately they no longer have it. I ended up getting a mocktail, the smoked fish dip, and fish&chips. The smoked fish conserva and mocktail were both ahhhmazing! The fish and chips not so much, but I only you it in case I hated the dip lol. Leah was amazing, she was attentive and knowledgeable. I'll be returning in the future. After a very warm welcome from the hostess (twice because we walked in 2x, undecided) we were happily seated immediately in their beautiful dining room. Nice space warm yet white. They are a raw bar and had many oysters to choose from but we had already had a snack at an event but were still a little hungry. We decided to split the homemade bread with anchovy butter and the Mushroom steak. The flavors blew us away!! While we did prefer to add a squeeze of lemon to the butter, the flavor was outstanding, a little salty, smoky and luscious. The bread was crusty, warm and uniquely delish. Then we tried the mushrooms.... Wow, whatever sauce they put on those was phenomenal. The mushrooms were not overcooked but still had a bite ( a good thing) and the side salad complemented it perfectly, and I forgot to mention the mashed potatoes under the shrooms, perfect pairing! We stopped by here for a drink and snack while in the neighborhood. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience, and we will hit up this place next time when we have more time. Oysters are my wife's thing, and she said they were delicious, especially for the money spent. Great HH value. Bar area is as you walk in, and then the dining room is after you pass the bar. It is a nice setup, with both areas separated nicely. It felt like the perfect combination of energetic, yet classy. I find places straddle the line and fail, but they created a great environment. You might be wondering how it gets a 5 when we were there so briefly. Well, it was because of the service. Our bartender was named Vaughnee (hope I spelled that right), and I hope you get the pleasure of his service when you go to the bar. He was the perfect combo of efficiency, personality, menu knowledge, and humor. I made a joke with him that to be named that, he almost HAD to be a cool guy. He backed up his cool name. It was pouring rain the day we were walking around this neighborhood, and so glad we planned on swinging in. Not even sure where to begin with this review. Every single thing that touched my lips from this place was 10/10. I'll start with the cocktail menu - it was impressive! So many options, and even 3 great mocktail options. I had the mocktail tequila drink and it was fantastic. It was so fresh and tasted just like a real alcoholic beverage, but without the hangover! In terms of food, we were a party of 8, so I think we literally tried almost ever item on the menu to share. Every next bite was better than the last! Absolute stand outs were - mushroom risotto, summer panzanella, gnocchi, and scallops. But truly everything was 10/10. Lastly, the ambience was amazing. It was clean, aesthetically pleasing, and we LOVED the open kitchen concept where we could see the pain staking detail that was put into every food item. It felt very farm to table fresh. Service was also excellent - fast and efficient! This might have been my favorite restaurant that I have ever been to. Henrietta red is a solid place to get your seafood and oyster needs met. Oysters are in the pricier side but they do have a $2 oyster happy hour! We were a group of 6, started off with beef tartare (tasted like a hamburger lol - still good but different than other beef tartare's I've had)! Also had an order of bread (their bread is delicious, and the dip it comes with was AMAZING. For dinner I got the grouper which is definitely the go-to move. It is delicate and very flavorful. My husband got the gnocchi and truthfully we weren't big fans - it was good well but the nori flavors were a little much and just not our taste. The service was friendly but a little slow - we had to remind our server of the appetizers we ordered after a while. The bartender we talked to before we sat down at the table was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed chatting with him.
