Falafel
Sarah A.

Came here with a friend on a Saturday evening with a reservation. We were seated immediately in a cozy corner table for 2. The host was super friendly and our waiter was also kind and attentive. We shared the whipped feta, warm squash dip, Brussels sprouts, beets, falafel and avocado crispy rice. All of the dishes were tasty and beautiful, but I was most pleasantly surprised by the avocado crispy rice! The standout here is the whipped feta, which is better than other local restaurants. I'd come here again for the feta alone! ....Okay for the feta and maybe to try some of the meat/seafood preparations.

Okay, this spot is it. Butcher & Bee in Nashville absolutely nailed that moody, vibey restaurant feel -- the kind where the lighting is just right, the music hits, and you instantly know you're in for a good time. It's definitely a hot spot (there's always a wait), but trust me, it's worth every minute. The food? Wow. I'm still thinking about those charred lion's mane mushrooms -- total flavor bomb. The squash dip with pumpkin and pomegranate seeds was next-level, especially with their unreal bread. Everything comes out course by course in small, shareable plates, which I love -- perfect for tasting everything without feeling like you overdid it. The Mediterranean-Indian fusion here just works. Every bite had layers of spice, texture, and flavor that kept me reaching for more. My falafels were crispy perfection, and I have to shout out their mocktail game -- so good! I really appreciate when a restaurant puts effort into their non-alcoholic options, and this one did not disappoint. Your bill comes tucked into a Nancy Drew book ! Loved that unexpected touch . Between the friendly staff, the beautiful decor, and the overall vibe, Butcher & Bee is officially on my must-visit-again list. If you're into moody aesthetics, shareable plates, and plant-based dishes that slap, this place is your jam.

I have been to butcher and bee twice now since my last visit. We ended up doing the chefs selection which was a really nice way to put your trust in someone else to course out your meal. If its your first time at Butcher and Bee I would recommend doing this to figure out what style of food you like. As always, I love the support they show their employees and I enjoy knowing where my food is coming from especially since it is locally sourced. I know their menu changes seasonally (which is great because then we have more food to try), so I wont go too into detail but our mains were great! Service was on par. We got a two seater by the kitchen for one meal and then next time I went all three of us sat at the bar. I kinda liked sitting at the bar because we got to talk to the bartender.

The interior is absolutely stunning, it's dark but beautiful. We sat in the outdoor patio which was also beautiful and felt like a magical back garden. Our servers were so kind and friendly, they walked us through the menu, asked about allergies (we had 1 dairy free and 1 vegetarian) and then suggested dishes based on that. They were incredibly accommodating. I will say the food took its time to come out, towards the end we were tired of waiting lol. We ordered dishes family style, here's the breakdown -- Whipped feta (came with pita): rich, creamy with super soft pita. loved the honey drizzled on top! Warm squash dip: SO delicious. sweet, slightly spicy and so yummy with the crispy pita! my whole group was raving about this one we loved it. Spice it up: delicious! glad we ordered as we dipped pita in this + the dips. 3 diff shaves and actually spicy. Potato latkes: these were okay. they were a bit bland and kind of heavy. could've done without. Avocado crispy rice w/ chicken on the side: love the texture of the crispy rice, this is very different and the flavors were tangy! it was a bit salty for me and most of my group. chicken on the side was yummy (+ allowed us to accommodate our vegetarian person!) Mushroom shawarma: mushroom was chewy and smoky. the pita with labneh was refreshing (we were very full). didn't care for the freekeh that much. Banana crunch cake: this was on the house as we were celebrating my birthday! they brought it out with a candle which was so sweet. the dessert itself was SO GOOD. if you like bananas, definitely get this. it was sweet and salty. the base is a dense banana bread which i really liked but some of my friends wished it was more airy. Highly recommend (and def make a res)!

Just left this place. My meal was so delicious! I heard great things about it and had to try it before heading back to Chicago. Now, living in Chicago I am no stranger to delicious food. Equally, unfortunately I'm no stranger to what tastes awful. Lucky for me this was terrific!! This is where you want to eat! I wanted to try everything so I opted for the Chef's Choice, which is where they serve you staff favorites in little small servings per person. Service was excellent Bryce and Scott were awesome! I was served: The bacon wrapped date - Now hear me out, all bacon wrapped dates are good. This one? 10/10 The lamb bourekas - really great I was served two pieces so I stuffed one in my bag for later. Avocado Crispy Rice - crispy, flavorful, served with chicken that I didn't need. Otherwise this was terrific. Whipped feta - outstanding, cheesy unlike any feta you've ever had. Green Chickpea Falafel - decent a bit spicy I also had a kumquat cabbage mini salad dish with pomegranate and it was divine! One cocktail that was great the Woo Girl And for dessert I had the pumpkin pie Malabi smoked pecan dukkah. It was underwhelming because I'm a cake kinda girl but it was still flavorful.

Butcher & Bee in Nashville is a delightful food spot that blends creativity with local ingredients. The menu showcases Mediterranean influences with a Southern flair. I highly recommend the whipped feta. Service at Butcher & Bee is hit or miss depending upon the waiter or waitress. Mine actually forgot my whole order. It is still worth the wait for delicious food.

I've been here a couple of times now so I wanted to wait to give a review. The first time I went, I wasn't a huge fan of my dish, and that was my fault for not understanding the menu. However!! My most recent trip, everything was delicious. First, please do yourself a favor and add the spicy lamb sausage to your whipped feta. It's so so good. Also the cocktails are so good. I love trying new drinks when out and about, and these didn't disappoint. I suggest parking in the lot across the street from the front door. It's only a couple of bucks for a few hours, and way cheaper than the lot directly behind their building.

This restaurant was awesome! It was recommended to us by a friend who lives in the area. The restaurant was not too loud despite being full! I recommend a reservation no matter when you go. The food was so fresh. There's plenty of items here to accommodate vegans and vegetarians. Our server was very nice. It's great to get a bunch of items and share them. The whipped feta is to die for! Also really enjoyed the carrot cake for dessert.

What a ln impressive place!! Delicious food and wonderful ambiance. There was a delay in getting some of our food, but they were highly apologetic about it, without our having to ask or bring it up. Every bite, though!!! So yummy!

Man this place continues to excel. We brought a friend who is visiting from out of town and it was the best choice. The squash was delicious, and the crispy rice was unlike anything I've ever had. My cavatelli pasta was phenomenal and I made everyone try a bite. We will always come back!

Came in with coworkers and glad I decided to come out. It's a very cute vibe the aesthetic is very inviting. They have inside and outside that is covered partially and heated. It's like tapas style few large dishes. We tried the dates, whipped feta, puffed rice and avocado. Just try it all it's good even the mocktails. If you don't like something on the menu not sure wha to say. The staff very nice and friendly and everyone is helping out. I will return on my next trip to Nashville.

Embered peas, Avocado Crispy Rice and Shawarma Chicken

I love to dine at restaurants that have won a James Beard Chef award, as well as those that have been finalists and semi-finalists. It's a great way to find the best restaurants in major cities. A few years ago, I dined at the original Butcher & Bee in Charleston. We had an amazing dining experience and were excited for them to be a finalist in 2022 James Beard Best Chef in the Southeast competition (which they did not win). As I was in Nashville for the weekend, I wanted to check out the Nashville restaurant to see how its Mediterranean cuisine stacked up to my memories from Charleston. I like to sit at the chef's table, to get a ring-side seat on what goes on in a major restaurant's kitchen. I'm amazed how cooks keep their focus and pace with oak wood grilling on an open fire. It's also hot for the patrons sitting at the chef's table. As a result, I drank a ton of water during our meal. In reading the reviews on Yelp, the Whipped Feta is a crowd pleasurer and sure starter selection. And it checked all the boxes for us. From the Small Plate section, we ordered the Embered Peas, which featured charred English and sugar snap peas. It was incredibly unique and flavorful. Our server told us the Avocado Crispy Rice was a house specialty in the Larger Plates. It's a great combination of textures and flavors, with the avocado adding richness and coolness. We added some Shawarma Chicken for protein and some kick. Several reviewers had praised the carrots. I'm uncertain whether that's the current version, or maybe something different in the past. I've had some amazing carrots at chef-driven restaurants. Butcher & Bee serves al dente carrots, which means they are cooked until they are still slightly firm, but not mushy. I'll say for our tastes, the carrots were too firm and not enjoyable. For dessert, we ordered the Raspberry Pavlova with earl grey ice cream and brownie bites. It was a yummy way to cool our palates after eating some spicy food. One thing I missed on the menu is right at the top - Order Like a Pro. For $56 at dinner, you get a sampling of the best items on the menu. That might have been a better option than what we selected ala carte.

Shasta S.

We came again for brunch and let me say it was also fantastic. Every bite was so flavorful. The crispy potatoes served with the breakfast sandwich were some of the best I've ever had. I had the Hummus bowl which has the silkiest hummus you've ever seen. The pitas are amazingly fluffy. We will be back!

We started with the spinach fatayer, arnabeet, and the hummus beyrouti. The hummus beyrouti (classic hummus topped with chopped sirloin) was good, but not a standout--I'd probably try something else before ordering it again. The spinach fatayer and arnabeet, though, were great. As two people who don't usually love beets, the arnabeet totally surprised us--you really don't taste much beet, and the cauliflower shines. The spinach fatayer was fluffy with a perfectly seasoned filling. Our mains came with a small side of the Epice salad. It was fine, but probably wouldn't order it on its own. I got the za'atar roasted chicken and it was cooked perfectly--super moist on the inside with deliciously crispy skin. The yogurt sauce it sits on was amazing; I just wish there was more of it. Jonathan ordered the lamb shank, and wow. It was fall-off-the-bone tender and such a hearty, comforting cold-weather dish. Food came out so quickly--we were in and out in about an hour, which was a huge plus. We were too full for dessert, but everything looked incredible and definitely gives us a reason to come back. Shoutout to Steven for great service and spot-on recommendations. Great vibes and amazing food all around.
