I returned to Aba last night and I'm so glad I did. The hostess ensured we were sat at a table in the dining room as requested. Our server, Brock, was awesome- knowledgeable, great recommendations, and he coursed our meal perfectly. Whipped feta and smoky garlic hummus were excellent, but the real standout for the first round was the hamachi- wow! Beef short ribs were good, not a show stopper, but good. Lamb chomp was delicious- we should have added an extra chop, everyone devoured this dish. Brussel sprouts are a must, and the pan roasted halibut was nom nom! Many cocktails and wine were confused- excellent wine menu, and the cocktails are as beautiful in presentation as they are delicious. Best surprise of the night- dessert was a showstopper. The banana pudding cake is so good that my husband who usually skips dessert had two large bites. The chocolate chocolate cake was an equally enjoyed surprise that satisfied all of the chocolate lovers at the table. Suffice it to say, Aba is back in my rotation. I came to Aba Nashville for my mother's birthday with an open mind and genuinely high expectations. Coming from a multicultural background, my mother and I have always been exposed to a wide variety of flavors and cuisines, so I was really really looking forward to experiencing Aba and seeing what made it such a popular spot. I made a reservation for my mother's birthday, and the only available seating option online was outside. A couple of days before our reservation, I called the restaurant because I knew the heat could be difficult for personal reasons and asked if there was any possibility of being accommodated indoors. During that conversation, I was given the impression that an accommodation could be made given that I had already made a reservation. However, when I arrived, I was told that I would still need to wait approximately 20 minutes with other guests waiting for indoor seating. I ultimately accepted because I was surprising my mom and didn't want anything to take away from her special day. Our server was very kind and attentive, answered all of our questions throughout the meal, and did a great job explaining the dishes and giving honest recommendations. Everything was beautifully presented, and several of the dishes had wonderful flavor. We started with the Charred Eggplant, which was definitely as smoky as described. It wasn't my favorite personally and probably wouldn't be something I would order again, but I can appreciate that the dish delivered exactly what it promised. The House-Made Stracciatella was one of my favorites. It was fresh, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. I would definitely recommend it as a starter, although I personally would have preferred slightly thinner pieces of bread. The Roasted Pork Belly was also beautifully flavored, especially paired with the peaches. I thought the peaches could have been a little softer to complement the texture of the pork, but I would absolutely order this again. We also tried the Falafel, which was packed with flavor. I think I personally would have enjoyed it even more paired with hummus as part of the dish. Unfortunately, I was just sad for me was that my mother's birthday was never acknowledged. Our server happened to notice the date when checking our IDs, but the birthday note I had included with the reservation was apparently overlooked, so there was no surprise or acknowledgment. I completely understand that restaurants get busy and that not every birthday reservation comes with a special offering. However, for a restaurant that places such an emphasis on hospitality, culture, and creating an experience for its guests, I had hoped for a little more attention to that detail. Overall, I'm glad we got to experience Aba, and I genuinely appreciated the dishes we tried and the kindness of our server. I just left feeling that the overall experience didn't quite meet the expectations I had going into it. For a special occasion, especially when I had made an effort to communicate ahead of time, I wish we had felt a little more prioritized as reserved guests and as a mother and daughter celebrating a birthday. I haven't had a full meal here yet, but I stopped in with a coworker and had apps and drinks at the bar. The bar has a really nice outdoor seating area. Service was quick. I was disappointed that they weren't able to make some of my favorite drinks (like Last Word) due do their liquor selection, but the espresso martini was very good. I enjoyed the hummus, I really enjoyed the whipped feta, and the plants everywhere were nice. Thankfully, I was I able to find close street parking, but I bet it would be a challenge on a busy night. Honestly feel like when there's parties at two they don't get the attention as much as the larger parties. We were celebrating a birthday this evening and had an amazing time! The ambiance was fantastic, the server was responsive and helpful, and the food was delicious. We absolutely loved the seasonal pumpkin hummus and brussel sprouts, the crispy chicken skin dish was very flavorful, and the truffle orzo was pretty good. I'd say the least exciting dish was the fried potato pieces, a little thick and pretty standard. We listed we were there to celebrate a birthday and were gifted the frozen yogurt/candle. Went out for date night tonight and finally scored a seat at ABA! The vibe and atmosphere were honestly perfection. Everything felt light, open, and beautiful and was the perfect setting for a summer evening. As far as parking, they do valet for $15 but there are plenty of paid parking lots in the area. The only downside were the flies. Since the large windows were open, they were pretty noticeable, and it felt like we were swatting them away every few seconds throughout dinner. Our service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and they surprised us with their frozen Greek yogurt for dessert. It was absolutely incredible. Honestly, we'd come back just for that! The food was good across the board, but nothing we ordered made us say, "We have to come back for this." That said, we'll definitely return and try different dishes because the menu has so many options. The new poblano hummus was a standout and will absolutely be a repeat order. Last night I went here for my birthday and this restaurant is absolutely beautiful!! There are plants and greenery throughout and the lighting is low and warm. The ambience is PERFECT. Our food was amazing. The smoky hummus was soo delicious with the warmed bread. Falafel was a bit crunchy, but it had a wonderful flavor. Aba has a great atmosphere and a spot I find myself returning to again and again. It's elevated and lively without feeling overly formal and the service has consistently been great! I've worked my way through quite a bit of the menu and my standout favorites are the Greek Vilage salad, which is incredibly fresh and flavorful, the whipped feta and the hot honey halloumi which strikes the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and crispy. For dessert my favorite is the sticky date cake (paired with the Frozen greek yogurt!). The menu is designed for sharing and they generally recommend 2-3 plates a person. I love the atmosphere of this place. It feels like you are in an outside courtyard with the trees - mostly fake - around the dining area. It is a well put together space. Service is also good. WItha bit of sales training, Marcus could be a star server trainer for the restaurant. Very pleasant demeanor. The food, overall, is great. I found the feta to be uninspired, but the lamb was fantastic. The Haloumi with hot honey is interesting. The kabob was also very nice. We had the sweet potato hummus (really good) and the short rib hummus (unique and good). Everything comes with tons of pita bread that has a great seasoning on it. For an entree we shared the shakshuka and babka French toast. The shakshuka wasn't very good, and I'm usually a fan. This one came with only one egg, and the potatoes were scarce. I've now been to Aba three times for dining (plus once to grab gift cards), and overall the food continues to be solid, though this last visit had a few service hiccups. We ordered quite a spread: green chili shrimp, whipped feta, marinated olives, veggies & feta, muhammara, Brussels sprouts, hot honey halloumi, crispy chicken thighs, beef tenderloin, crispy potatoes, and crab cakes with greens. Our waitress was friendly and repeated our order back to us multiple times, which we confirmed. To start, the muhammara was flavorful with a nice hint of spice, and the whipped feta topped with pistachios was absolutely delightful. The halloumi had a sweet kick--similar to Mike's Hot Honey--and everything paired perfectly with warm pita bread. The crab cakes with greens were also delicious and a great addition to the table. For mains, the crispy chicken thighs were well-seasoned, moist, and served with soft mashed potatoes and peas (though veggies are seasonal). The beef tenderloin was cooked well but slightly salty; thankfully, the chimichurri on the side balanced it out nicely. We did end up ordering more food than expected. When we asked if everything had come out, our server initially said yes, then realized the shrimp was still coming. We kindly asked to cancel the shrimp, Brussels sprouts, and potatoes since we were already full. There was some confusion--she mentioned we hadn't ordered potatoes (even though it had been repeated back to us), and said cancellations weren't really possible. Ultimately, the Brussels sprouts still came out, but she did remove the shrimp and apologized, explaining they were working through issues with a new kitchen manager. Interestingly, this wasn't the first time something was missed--on a previous visit, the Brussels sprouts were forgotten altogether--so it may be a recurring kitchen coordination issue. Overall, the food at Aba is consistently good and worth coming back for. We sat outside as it was beautiful but had sat inside and the ambiance is always nice! New in Nashville and as pretty as ever! I went to the Chicago location a couple of years ago and was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the restaurant and the quality of the food and service. I was excited to try the new location for dinner this past week. Reservations were tight and even on a Tuesday at 5:15pm, it was BUSY! Both indoors and outdoors. Our server was solid and helped us with some recommendations -- lots of options depending on what you want to try. Hot, cold, small, big, sweet, savory. I thought all of the food we had was solid. I liked the temperatures and the presentation. My only issue was the saltiness -- of pretty much every single dish we ordered. I can appreciate that this restaurant is new and adjusting, but every plate was over salted. My friend and I both agreed, and we both don't usually mind a little extra touch of salt. The watermelon and tuna was amazing and fresh, the green falafel was solid, the chicken was tender. Again, just too much salt on everything. The crispy chickpeas on the smoky garlic hummus were inedible due to salt. We had wine with dinner and they had a solid selection; my friend also had an espresso martini that was an A! We finally tried Aba in Nashville after hearing the hype for a while, and honestly, it confirmed my suspicion that giant trendy restaurants often struggle to maintain quality. There were definitely a few standout items. The sweet potato hummus was genuinely great, topped with pecans, pumpkin seeds, and all these warm autumn flavors that somehow worked really well with the Mediterranean vibe. Weird in concept, delicious in execution. The pita bread was also fantastic. We also loved parts of the olive and feta plate. The feta was incredible, the pickled onions were great, the almonds were delicious, and the green olives were excellent. The black olives, though? Mushy, weird, and honestly kind of shocking for a restaurant at this price point. Somebody needs a new olive supplier immediately. The biggest disappointment was probably the tuna and watermelon dish. On paper it sounded amazing. Fresh tuna, watermelon, cucumber, beautiful presentation. We were hoping for something bright and flavorful, maybe even compressed watermelon texture-wise, but it ended up tasting almost completely flat. Even adding salt didn't really save it. Pretty to look at, not exciting to eat. The lamb and beef kafta was fine. Not bad, not memorable. The rice underneath it was honestly the best part of the plate. I'd happily eat a bowl of just that rice. The falafel was also surprisingly underwhelming. I'm not some falafel connoisseur, but I've had enough of it to know this wasn't great. Very mid, maybe below mid. Still trying to get the weird after taste out of my mouth. We also tried the shrimp dish, which was flavorful enough, but it honestly felt more like something you'd get at Bubba Gump than at an upscale Mediterranean restaurant charging Nashville prices. Cocktails were also kind of a miss. The first mezcal drink was okay. Very "California juice bar meets cocktail menu," complete with what felt like an entire cilantro plant hanging off the glass. Then I ordered a negroni, and somehow they managed to make one of the easiest classic cocktails taste off. I genuinely don't know how you mess up a negroni that badly. The whole restaurant feels confused about its identity. It's trying to be Mediterranean, California-cool, trendy patio spot, tourist destination, all at once. The decor felt kind of gaudy and artificial, with lots of fake greenery and an atmosphere that felt more like a giant tourist trap than a thoughtful restaurant experience. The service was perfectly fine. The patio was beautiful. But overall, I left disappointed, especially for the price. I'd give the sweet potato hummus 5 stars. The overall experience? Much lower than that. And that's a bummer, because I really wanted to love it. Dinner at ABA in Nashville was absolutely superb and it's a beautiful restaurant inside and out with impeccable service. I was excited to dine here since Mediterranean food has become one of my favorites especially after traveling in Cyprus and Greece last year with outstanding meals everyday and this restaurant lived up to those 2 Mediterranean countries standards for excellent cuisine. We ordered the whipped feta and smoky garlic feta for appetizers and almost stuffed ourselves silly with the pita bread with the dips we ate. For a main course I ordered the Lamb and Beef Kefta kebabs that were grilled and served with rice and were a very authentic Mediterranean dish. Also, I ordered a side of Brussels sprouts that were flash fried and delicious too. I almost couldn't finish my dinner. It was pricey but dining of this caliber isn't going to be cheap. My only wish for this place is that they come up with a mixed grill with lamb chops, kebabs and grilled veggies would make it perfect. read more

I was so excited to snag a last-minute reservation at Aba, a restaurant that's been on my radar since it opened last year. After much deliberation, we ordered five different dishes (all small plates) for the table. The dishes come out as they are ready, which prevented us from being overwhelmed by so many options at once. First up, the whipped feta was a standout. It was creamy and tangy, with just the right crunch from pistachios and citrus notes from lemon zest. Next, the marinated olives, vegetables and feta had a robust flavor profile with pops of sweetness from the peppers and citrus. But I could have done without the caperberries, which were way too salty for my liking. Third, the Greek Village Salad was classic but well-executed, with crisp vegetables and a tangy vinaigrette. Next was the crunchy, crispy green falafel, with a fresh, herb-forward flavor that paired well with the avocado tzatziki and garlic tahini. By the time the crispy potatoes arrived at the table, I wasn't sure I had room left. But I'm so glad that I gave them a try, as they were perfectly crispy and golden. They were flavorful as is, but the dusting of herbs and sprinkling of mizithra cheese took the dish up a notch. I also tried the Ancient Oak Espresso Martini, which was my favorite style of espresso martini -- smooth and rich without being overly sweet. We ate on the patio, which was lovely. But the interior is where Aba shines. It is stunningly beautiful and is definitely worth checking out, even if you dine outside. I hope to return soon to explore more of the menu. I reviewed ABA 4 months ago and it was not the best experience. The team reached out and were gracious in taking care of us to try it again, so we came for Brunch. I'd love to say it was outstanding this go around but it was still pretty sub par. Whipped feta: 7/10 - Pretty good! I've had better ones but it was fairly tasty. The pita bread was AMAZING. It was soft fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. Braised beef shakshuka: 2/10 - Something was not good in this sauce. Everything tasted of it and had this odd aftertaste. There was also barely any meat. Feta frittata: 9/10 - This was actually one of the best egg dishes I've had in a bit. The phyllo pieces were a bit weird in it but the eggs were perfectly cooked and the feta was a great creamy addition. Chocolate babka French toast: 7/10 - chocolatey, but kind of dry in parts. Mostly just chocolate flavor, and tasted no "French", all toast. Overall, again, not somewhere I'd come again. If I did have to, I'd suggest brunch though. read more

We made a super early 4:00 rez and I'm so glad we did, by 5:00 the restaurant was packed! As others have noted, it looks like a Restoration Hardware inside, but the effect works and is lovely. And it's open air to the outside so it's very fresh inside. The food was very good. Our server recommended 2-3 dishes per person. We got 5 between the two of us and it was too much food, I was butsting at the end of the meal. We got: smoky garlic hummus, strawberry rhubarb labneh, halloumi in hot honey, green falafel, & green chili shrimp. We loved all of them (the halloumi was fine but our least favorite). I have such mixed feelings. The food overall was bomb, but the service was so so so unbelievably slow. We went for a birthday celebration a few weeks ago. Since we had a large party the birthday girl chose a set menu and all we had to order was drinks. Granted, there were 13 of us and of course the server has other tables as well. I just feel if there is a set menu with a large party who made a reservation well in advance we can plan for these things. We were there for almost four hours. We had a personal driver for the night and did not account for this long of a dinner so we had to extend our driver which was not ideal for either party. The spirtz tower is so fun and each spritz is delicious. My dirty martini with hendricks was not very good. I switched the a henricks and tonic instead. The espresso martini was delicious though! I appreciated the amount of food brought to us, but at a certain point it felt almost sad how much we weren't eating. I couldn't stop thinking about how much was being wasted. We brought our own cake for the birthday girl and we were told we still had to choose two desserts. We porbably should have declined and just sucked it up and paid for the dessert but not have it come out. I dont think we even touched it. I want to emphasize that the food was in fact very delicious and our server was very friendly and great. She was set up for failure as the courses were not appropriately coursed out. I gotta say, this might have been the best pork belly I've ever had. It was perfect. I took one bite of the chicken skewers, didn't love it, and decided to focus my attention to the pork belly. The cucumber salad was so good and the best way to start our meal. The short rib hummus and whipped feta as a starter were also very good. It was kinda weird going between the two so I would suggest either just getting one or eating one portion of one and move to the next instead of a bite back and forth. read more

The food was incredible! Our server was so knowledgeable and made the best recommendations. It was a full house, but it didn't feel noisy, and the food came out quickly. Definitely a place to go with someone who enjoys sharing because everything looked too good not to try. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. Sophisticated Miami vibes comes to Wedgewood! This is such a cute, photo friendly, chic location for dinner AND the quality delicious food totally matches the vibe. Recommendation is to uber here or park at the Soho house because parking is so challenging in this ar It makes me sad how hard it is to get a reservation here, but once you do is totally worth the weight. The dishes are tapas style and they have so much variety from spreads and whipped dips to actual meals you can easily navigate the menu and order a few of everything. ABA was, without a doubt, my favorite restaurant we visited. From the moment we walked in, everything exceeded my expectations. The ambiance is beautiful--stylish, inviting, and the perfect atmosphere for a great meal. The service was absolutely incredible. Anything and everything on the menu was delicious. Definitely ask for recommendations, I went with four people and was stuffed by the end of the meal. One of my favorite new spots in Nashville! You can't go wrong with the kebabs. They say the menu is mezze where you want to get 3-5 plates a person. I always leave full with just a spread and a kebab dish. I've tried them all now and the Salmon is definitely my favorite! The whipped feta is good, but super thick, not too whipped. But still fully flavorful! My favorite item on the menu so far though is the Truffled Salmon. SO good. read more

Super cute, decor and design is impeccable! Our server was really sweet but we had to remind her of things a couple of times. Food was really yummy overall. The whipped feta is a muuuust. The melon & granita was good in theory but honestly not worth it- the dish it's too big so unless it's a large group, I wouldn't order it again. Hamachi is fantastic!! The crab cake and was good and hot honey halloumi also fire. Really wanted to get dessert but I was stuffed. I tried both the aloe and guava cocktails, neither impressed me. I've been to Aba a few times now. I've drafted this review like it was my thesis. I went through denial, bargaining, acceptance, and maybe a mild identity crisis. But we have reached the verdict. THE DECOR/VIBE: Immaculate doesn't even cover it. This place looks like Switzerland and Monaco got together on a wellness retreat, fell in love, and hired a designer baby to build their dream home. Whoever designed Aba should be SO proud they should walk around with a trophy. I've seen places like this, but rarely in America, and never on a Tuesday. THE FOOD: Now this, this is where the plot twists!!!!!! An absolute disgrace. The crispy potatoes? Emotional damage! The grilled chicken? Witness protection levels of bland!! The shawarma? I've seen stronger personalities in unsalted popcorn!!! The lamb kebab? Bold of it to exist!!!!! This is a "Middle Eastern" restaurant in the same way that I'm "six foot seven" if I stretch in the morning and lie aggressively. I say this as a genuine Middle Easterner: This food tasted like someone watched ONE TikTok about hummus and said, "Yeah, I got this." (I actually never had TikTok and refuse to download it) It's giving drunk bar food that accidentally wandered into a luxury restaurant and started charging $29 for vibes. I even asked the chef about a sauce on the menu, he stared at me like I asked him to explain quantum entanglement or superposition is. Turns out it was an Indian sauce, spelled wrong. Poetic!!! Aba Nashville (435 Houston St) We went in with high expectations since we've loved Aba in Austin, but the Nashville location didn't feel up to the same standard--both in service and food quality. The Old Fashioned cocktail was decent. The falafel was fresh, flavorful, and easily my favorite dish of the evening. The classic hummus was average; the pita in particular was thick and underwhelming. The grilled cauliflower lacked seasoning and felt bland, while the beet dish was overly charred and not enjoyable. For dessert, the date cake was the highlight--moist, well-balanced, and genuinely good. Overall, it was a decent one-time experience, but for a higher-end restaurant, there's room to improve--especially in customer service attentiveness, speed, and consistency in food quality and flavor. read more

I have been looking forward to going to this restaurant for weeks. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. It feels like a forest with all of the greenery everywhere. I utilized the valet because parking in the area is a nightmare. Honestly the food was pretty good. It feels much more like a lunch spot than a dinner location. More like tapas for lunch time. Everything was light and refreshing. I really enjoyed the Shawarma-Spiced Prime Skirt Steak Frites. The Lemon Meringue Bar was nice but was shocked that the bottom half of the dessert was frozen hard. I also tasted my friend's cauliflower dish and it was yummy! The staff were plenty and very helpful and engaging. I think the food is a bit overpriced, but it is the perfect place to grab drinks and small bites with friends after work. read more

We've been to Aba twice now and literally cannot wait to go back. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance and decor are stunning-- we went around the holidays and they had Christmas trees with chandeliers, which felt so festive and elegant. It's lively and busy but still a great noise level where my boyfriend and I could easily have a conversation. The food is unreal. Between our visits, the absolute standouts were the green chili shrimp, crispy chicken thighs, tuna tartare, branzino, short rib hummus, whipped feta, and Brussels sprouts. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of these. We've also tried the chicken and salmon kabobs and the hamachi--those were good, but just okay compared to everything else, which really says a lot about how strong the menu is overall. Jonathan loves their specialty old fashioned. Personally, I haven't been blown away by the cocktails (just my taste), but they do have a great wine selection, which I really appreciated. Every time we leave, we're already talking about when we're coming back. Aba has officially become our new favorite restaurant.
