I evidenced that Uzbegim cook the Uzbek foods in a high professional way! The Pilav taste is the same as the one in Uzbekistan! The Somsa was reach to the lamb meat and yummy! I do recommend to visit Uzbegim in Nashville, TN to enjoy the high class real Uzbek foods!

Looking for the perfect bite after a walk in centennial park? Look no further than Uzbegim. I went with a friend and her dog. There is also plenty of street parking nearby. The area can be a bit rough at times so make sure to lock your doors and put away valuables before heading into Uzbegim. It's so nice that it has a covered outdoor patio with heaters and the waiter even brought us each a plush blanket. Paired with a pot of green tea we were already in maximum cozy vibes- when the food arrived we were immediately comforted but the fresh flavors of each dish. We got the lamb samosas and Assorted Golupsi. Each dish was filled with plentiful amounts of meat and mild spices. The bread of the samosas was delicious, crisp and still soft. The assorted golupsi reminded me of my mom's homemade stew in the best way with soft carrots, roasted potatoes and cabbage as well as the lovely grape leaves. The service was fast and food arrived within 5-10 minutes of ordering. The wait staff was a one man show but he was kind and quick which is always a great pairing. I'd definitely go back and bring friends/family to enjoy more dishes. The pilaf looked amazing as well as the honey cake!

I'm giving 5 stars because the authenticity here is unmatched. It's an unassuming little spot, and when we arrived, there was nearly no one there. It was 2pm, but regardless, the place was quiet. They did not have half of the menu, though, so keep in mind that if you go you might have to choose from fewer options. For example, I wanted to try the noodles, which they did not have. Here's what we tried: Kemal Kebab (Lamb with potatoes): 9/10 - Some of the yummiest potatoes I've had! They came whole but were cooked in a rich sort of oil, and the lamb literally fell RIGHT off the bone. So good. Manti Dumplings: 8/10 - The beef inside was slightly dry but the dough casing the dumplings was SO yummy. I loved the texture. Also, the yogurt sauce is a good addition. Wedding Fried Rice: 8.5/10 - Lovely flavor to this! I normally don't like fried rice but it was rich, sweet, and saucy. Not dry like most I've had. The lamb was pretty plentiful on top as well. I don't think this place is overhyped. It might be underhyped, despite its Michelin guide recognition. I'll definitely come back to try the noodles and the naan.

The restaurant is pretty easy to find as it is located on the corner and there is a small sign out front. Surprisingly, there is some street parking very close by. I was able to find several spots less than half a block away. I did not notice any handicapped spaces, but that is not under the control of the restaurant. You must go up steps to get to the entrance door, unless there is a ramp along the other side of the building which I did not investigate. There is also a small step at the door. You enter a small waiting/ seating area with a couple tables. The counter to place your order is to right as you enter. There is more seating in the rear of the restaurant. I was greeted as I entered and given a menu to review. The host was helpful in describing the different dishes and making recommendations. After ordering I waited in the area near the door. They also have several grocery items available. The food took 15-20 minutes to arrive. It was very well packaged as a to go order. It was still hot when I arrived at my destination a few minutes later, and nothing spilled on the way there. The Olivier salad was an elevated egg salad. While not earth-shattering, it was a very pleasant start to the meal. The Uyghur fried noodle was very good. It was a relatively simple dish with good flavor and a healthy portion of beef. It was quite filling and reheated well the next day. The kufte was another winner. Again, a rather simple recipe but very well executed. For those looking for a less than common culinary experience, Uzbegim offers a great opportunity to try some excellent food.

Starting off, the staff was super helpful and friendly! The restaurant was very clean and had nice outdoor seating. This is my first time trying Uzbek food and it was great! The meat with the fried noodles had an amazing flavor and the noodles were thick and yummy! The lamb was great as well! There was plenty street parking near the restaurant when I went. Definitely recommend coming here and will be back!

We were visiting Nashville and excited to see an Uzbek restaurant, so we drove 20 minutes to get there. There's no accessibility for anyone with disabilities and parking was not easy. The staff was not very welcoming. There was a basket of silverware and napkins on the table. The utensils were dirty. We asked for clean ones. The food was awful. The chicken and cheese samosa was tough chicken with tons of onions and the bread was chewy. The golupsi looked nothing like the menu picture and they were not good. The meat cutlets were still pink inside. The lamb shawarma came out much later than the other entrees for one of the people in our party even though it's considered a starter. The server had zero personality and kept handing the dishes to the wrong people. Once the food was dropped off, she did not return one time. We had to flag her down for the check. She looked at our plates that were all at least 3/4 full and asked if we wanted to-go boxes. She didn't even ask if there was an issue seeing no one ate their food. We spent $65 and left. It was terrible. Not sure how this place got a Michelin rating. We definitely won't be back when we visit Nashville again.

Was very excited to try this Uzbek spot! Of course I had to order the manti (dumplings) , they were just the right amount of savoriness. Buttery and delicious! Also ordered the central asian version of naan which was ok. The Shurpa soup was also great. It had lamb, carrots, potatoes, dill and other veggies. I am looking forward to trying other dishes next time!

Found this from the Michelin recommended list. It's a little out of the way of downtown Nashville in a neighborhood. The place had only a couple of diners in its very simple dining area- which was surprising given its recognition. Another reviewer's note we read was no lie- they literally don't have half of the items they claim to on their menu. Honestly, they should redo their menu or give you a heads up in advance. The service is sub-par and you then realize that the food is why this place is recognized. Its menu is unique Uzbek fare and the food is flavorful. The lamb is stewed perfectly and you must try. We also loved the honey cake and roasted potatoes. I'm glad we tried this place but will probably not return due to the service and very limited menu.

Fantastic! I was in Nashville visiting for work and wanted to check out Centennial Park. Was looking for somewhere nearby for some lunch and came across Uzbegim. Having never tried Uzbek food before, this was a no brainer! Highly, highly recommend trying something off the grill. The Tovuq chicken kebab I tried was SO juicy and tender and delicious. It came out hot and fresh, with a great char and spiced to perfection. The skewer was complemented with thinly sliced raw onion, which were pretty mild and sweet. If I ever have a chance to make it back here, I will definitely try other items off their grilled menu. I also got the Fried Laghman noodle dish, and this was very tasty as well! Generous amount of meat with great flavor. The handmade noodles were chewy and thick, and despite being fried, it was not too heavy or oily. Loved the very subtle sour vinegar/lemon in this dish and good amount of veggies to round it out too. I had ordered the Uzbek bread as well, which surprised me with how big it was. Especially for the price, I was expecting something really small and it's actually huge. In my opinion, this was just okay, not a lot of flavor but beautifully presented and good value for sharing if you come hungry! Service was friendly and prompt. Restaurant was pretty quiet when I was there for an earlier lunch time. Upstairs they have a small store where you can buy breads and pantry items to go.

Saw this place on Nashville Hidden Gems and was rather mad that I didn't know about it earlier. Over the years of going to Elliston Pl, and even eating at Michelangelo's, I was very pleased to see another Uzbek restaurant here in Nashville. This place truly is a hidden gem. I went in knowing it would be good for Halal food. The menu was easy to read and the food was delicious. I got the fried Uyghur lagman. I also got an order of Uzbek bread. The staff were friendly and I definitely will be back. They really improved the look on the inside from what I remember going in to Michelangelo's. In fact, there were other people in there ordering pizza. So they either share the space or are related to the owners. As far as I know, the parking is free in the back as long as you are visiting a business at Elliston Place. I highly recommend.

Screen shot from my INSTAGRAM. Grill plate for one which came with two kebob options, rice, salad, pita bread and sauces on the side.

Visiting from California... Cute place, you can sit inside or outside. There's some music playing in the background at the perfect volume. The restaurant and cafe are connected. The staff is friendly and attentive, they will help with recommendations. The food was delicious and freshly made, it came out hot and the flavors were so good! If you're thinking of coming here, do it! They have sweets and coffee too if you're feeling like a decadent treat. Great place, glad I came!

Some sort of egg salad. Amazing.

I can't speak to the authenticity of the Turkish cuisine here, but I can speak to the food quality. Starting off is a beautiful focaccia loaf with a mix of light spices and olive oil. It's odd to say bread is relaxing and refreshing but here it is. The hummus is quite the same, lightly spiced but bright and refreshing. The ezme is interesting. To me it resembles a Turkish version of chips and salsa, very tomato forward but lightly spiced. Only complaint of the meal for me was the lamb kabobs. I am notorious for over seasoning things, and that is simply how my palette is. The lamb was cooked perfectly, not dried out and moist, however I would've liked a little more seasoning. The Billur kabob has been a repeat favorite of mine over the years. The combination of sautéed eggplant, pashamal sauce and onions/peppers/mushrooms creates an explosion of varying textures and tastes. Everything sort of melds together perfectly once it's cooked on the stone oven and becomes a cohesive entree better than the sum of its parts. The servers are always very attentive, respectful and knowledgeable about the menu. When I first started coming here they always had fantastic recommendations. All in all this has been and continues to be a delicious meal no matter what I have ordered here.

I'd…read moresaved them in my Nashville bookmarks for some time after they received a lot of acclaim on Yelp - I believe at one time they were on a Yelp list of best restaurants in the US. We were certainly excited to try Uzbek food, as there's nowhere that serves it where we live. The restaurant doesn't look like too much from the outside and the parking lot is a little run down. However, the inside is very updated and super clean and comfortable. There's lots of seating, what appears to be a private room in the back, and some high-tech features, like a machine that you can use to alert waitstaff if you need a refill, a to-go box, or any other kind of attention. The bathrooms were also immaculate. Service was a little strange. I wouldn't say it was slow - every time we placed an order or had a request, our food or items were promptly brought out to us. However, the challenge came in getting the attention of our waitresses. Two ladies took care of us, alternating based on availability. One was very nice and friendly, the other a little gruff and irritable-seeming. But both were completely averse to coming in and checking on us without one of us flagging them down. Perhaps they're used to the little machines? I don't like using those because they come across as too demanding; I'd prefer to just be visited and checked in on from time to time by staff. Not so here. Despite not being very busy, our visit took a lot of time, even though the actual food service was fairly quick. Onto the food, the most important part. We ordered a lot because I wanted to experience as many unique dishes as possible. One waitress first brought out a complimentary serving of pita and what I believe was suzma, which the menu describes as a yogurt-based cheese. This was one of the highlights of our meal, actually, as the pita was hot, fresh, and very lightly charred. The suzma went very well with it. Then we ordered a chicken somsa and some Uzbek bread. The chicken somsa was alright; the pastry was delightfully flaky, but for me it was way too onion-forward. The Uzbek bread was another highlight. It was a temperature and textural delight - so warm and fluffy - if not a flavor bomb. It was great to polish off the remaining suzma from our complimentary treat. For entrees, my husband wanted to try the signature osh, while I ordered chicken shashlik. The osh was probably the better of the two but he didn't love it. It was quite greasy and the lamb was on the gamey side. My chicken shashlik had definitely been near charcoal too long; it had an overly-charred, unpleasant chemical-y taste. The accompanying rice had so much butter or oil in it that it was greasy, too, and although that imparted more flavor into it, I felt gross after a couple of bites. Everything was cooked well, just the flavors really didn't quite come together for us on this visit. It's hard for me to believe, given the average outstanding reviews and consistent praise this place gets, that our experience was an average one. Perhaps we just came on an off day or ordered the wrong things for our palates, since we're fairly unfamiliar with this cuisine. I would be willing to try again some day, but sadly our first visit didn't quite wow the way we'd hoped it would. I appreciate the clean and pretty environment and quickly prepared food!

We started with the spinach fatayer, arnabeet, and the hummus beyrouti. The hummus beyrouti (classic hummus topped with chopped sirloin) was good, but not a standout--I'd probably try something else before ordering it again. The spinach fatayer and arnabeet, though, were great. As two people who don't usually love beets, the arnabeet totally surprised us--you really don't taste much beet, and the cauliflower shines. The spinach fatayer was fluffy with a perfectly seasoned filling. Our mains came with a small side of the Epice salad. It was fine, but probably wouldn't order it on its own. I got the za'atar roasted chicken and it was cooked perfectly--super moist on the inside with deliciously crispy skin. The yogurt sauce it sits on was amazing; I just wish there was more of it. Jonathan ordered the lamb shank, and wow. It was fall-off-the-bone tender and such a hearty, comforting cold-weather dish. Decided to give it another try and probably won't go back. I think I'll give 4 stars because it's probably some people's favorite place but I'd probably rank it lower. Was good but honestly boring. I can get the same meal but better up the street on Gallatin with more decor, great staff, and more reasonable prices. It was pretty slow even with only a few tables taken on a week night. The explanation of the menu items wasn't clear even after asking (I don't think the staff member was fully knowledgeable on the ingredients) so we just picked what sounded okay and went with it.
