After a morning of shopping at a local craft fair on Charlotte Pike, we were in the mood for a great meal. I've wanted to eat at Fattoush Café since I moved to Nashville, but I've never found myself in that part of town at meal time. We walked in and found a cozy atmosphere, with no pretense. A single gentleman behind the counter, who may have been the owner, begged our indulgence as none of his employees had shown up to work that day. We were fine to wait given the delicious smells coming from the grill. He asked us if we wanted the chicken shawarma, and then apologized because he was freshly cooking a batch and it would take 15 minutes to be ready. That was music to our ears. Any Mediterranean restaurant that cooks proteins to order shows great promise. We had a chicken Shawarma salad, and the super platter. The portions were tremendous, the proteins were spectacular, and the tzatziki and spicy sauce both tasted looked and smelled homemade. The hummus was some of the best I've had in this town. The total for two huge meals, that really fed us each twice, was a paltry $40. The man behind the counter thanked us for coming in, again thanked us before we left, and was genuinely kind and seemed happy to have us in the restaurant. Very highly recommended for an amazing Middle Eastern meal on Charlotte Pike near downtown Nashville. read more

This is one of my favorite places to grab Mediterranean/Greek food. The owner is attentive even though he's the only one I've seen taking orders & preparing them. The servings are generous - I've even shared a meal with a friend. Sometimes you'll have to be patient when waiting for the food, but it's always worth the wait. The place is casual with lots of seating if you want to sit in & enjoy. There's free parking next to the building. Love: Baba Ghanoush (best I've had), hummus, lamb/beef (seasoned well, goes really well over the perfectly prepared rice) read more

Amazing! Great food, great service! chicken shawarma was outstanding as well as the gyro. Thank for the great meal!

Only had 30 minutes for lunch. Waited on food for 30 mins. Gentleman serving was in no hurry and did not care. No drinks while waiting. Don't have time to come back. read more

Being a regular here is one my favorite things in life at the moment. The owner is incredible and passionate about his food. I absolutely LOVE his gyro combination platter. They have the best spicy and taziki sauce I have ever had (as you can tell.) The hummus is also some of the best I have ever had and he had to go blend in in front of me to make sure it's fresh. The inside is casual and welcoming nothing fancy. Must have stop for anyone looking for a quality lunch. read more

My sister said this was the best hummus she has ever had. I didn't believe her until I tried it. Unreal, especially with the fresh pita bread. I popped in around 2 pm today (Monday). It was just the one guy working, and he had to make the falafel and hummus fresh. About a 20 minute wait but well worth it. I would definitely call and order ahead if you're grabbing it to go like I did. I am so sad I move later this month and it's my first time going. Get to Fattoush ASAP! You're in for a treat. read more

I love this place! The owner is so nice and they make everything in house. I was waiting on a big take out order and we were talking while he was making Baba Ghanoush. He told me all about himself and where he was from. The rest of the staff are also very kind. I used to work at a nearby music venue and whenever the bands would want a rec and I would send them here because it's easy to eat healthy, the flavors are top notch, and I love supporting this place. I try to go here whenever I'm in the area, which isn't as often since I don't work nearby. They have parking which is rare in these parts, and plenty of indoor seating. Or it's easy to get orders to go. read more

We tried Greek food for the first time here, and it was such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The owner (or at least the gentleman running everything) was incredibly kind and welcoming, and you could tell he truly cares about both the food and his customers. Even while running the whole place, he created such a warm, inviting atmosphere. We're so glad we gave this place a try and will definitely be back. Thank you for making our first Greek food experience such a memorable one! read more

Where to begin?... great food, reasonably priced, and energetic and happy vibe. 1. This place was packed at 11am on a Wednesday. Two guys behind the counter in total control of their domain. Serving food that took time, but was delivered with quality in mind. Not skimping just to get through the rush. 2. Locals were happy to recommend options, and staff/owner made how they like. No one disappointed me, just wish I had a larger appetite. If you like authentic food cooked from the heart, try it out. read more

Visited Fattoush Cafe as it was highly recommended by a friend and we were all fans of Mediterranean food. This was also featured by Guy Fieri for his food network show, and we like to go to places featured on that Diners and Dives show. This met or exceeded all food expectations! We got there with a group of 6 friends, late in the evening on a weeknight around 7pm. Fattoush was super helpful, answering our questions and showing us what he was making for other people and customizing our orders as some people wanted only chicken, some wanted just falafel, extra sauce, more mild topping, more spicy! He remembered all our orders and did them all with no issues while also helping his regulars that he had memorized their orders! We got a big table for the 6 of us and there was a variety of high top, benches, and regular tables with seats. Many people were at tables or getting takeout, all clean and comfortable. We got to go containers for our food as all the portion sizes were big and we all had leftovers and wanted them! The salad was super fresh and light, delicious. The hummus was very creamy and good flavor with paprika and sumac. The meats were moisture and tender, didn't need any topping at all, except that they were so good you wanted to dip pieces. We got canned and bottled drinks from a freezer by the cash register. Atmosphere was okay, good for casual meals, or relaxed date. The prices were reasonable, we got the biggest super combos so we could try everything. We were happy to have free parking next to the restaurant without needing to use an app or timer. We took some photos and asked for a picture with the owner Fattoush and he joined us by the store name on the back wall. Recommended! Go get some of this excellent food! read more

Coming from Houston, Texas, I know what good Mediterranean food tastes like. The owner tried to make it nice but I wasn't impressed. He's personable, but the food was fairly bland. He admitted serving Indian style rice. I don't see how this was featured on Drive Ins, Diners , and Dives. Come to Houston. Eat at Fadi's....even a Gyro Hut beats this place. Sorry sir.... fire your family and hire some good workers, tweak your recipes to more authentic flavor, clean and refresh the dining room, fix broken window in the front of the store. Make Fatoush Cafe great again! read more

We ordered Fattoush Cafe to go after seeing it on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Pickup was quick and easy. We got the Fattoush super dish which was a sampler with a little bit of everything. The falafel was fried to perfection and had great flavor. The lamb and beef gyro were good. The vegetables were fresh. The pita bread was warm and soft. The real star was the hummus! So creamy with great flavor! We also got baklava which was fresh, not too sweet and very crispy and nutty. Definitely recommend trying them out! read more

Came on an afternoon and it was pretty busy. Not a ton of parking in the lot so if they are super busy might be tough to park. Gyro was excellent, better than the schwarma. Amazing food for a good quantity and price! We got the chicken shawarma plate with yellow rice and the beef/lamb gyro plate with upside down rice which both came with a salad, pita bread, and sauces. I came across this place looking for lunch earlier in the week while working from home. I had a hankering for some lamb and this place delivered! The guy at the counter was nice. Although it took a little while to pay, I didn't mind the wait as I had some time on my hands. There are seats on the inside if you want to sit and eat or watch whatever is on the tv that they have. I was more comfortable eating at home so I just took it to go. The shawarma was juicy and the sauce was not overpowering. I blinked twice and before I knew it, I finished it. Next time I'll try the gyro as that also looked good. I will be returning! read more

We stopped at this place because I wanted fattoush. Ha ha ha! They don't have fattoush! It was like going to Long Horn Steakhouse and they don't have steak or Spaghetti Warehouse and no spaghetti. He sold me a "big" salad with meat for $20. Ugh. Cold greasy gyro meat was chopped and piled on the salad. There were flecks or specks of what might have been Feta, slices of jalapeño peppers, tomatoes, parsley and some yellowed cucumber slices in the styrofoam container with the lettuce. To make things more enjoyable, I was given Ranch dressing. After looking at the sad salad, it all made some kind of sense. Why would I get any kind of Mediterranean dressing at a Mediterranean restaurant? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. It will never be shame on me because I won't be going back. read more

Our family was traveling through Nashville, and we just so happened to be going by a place we saw on Food Network. The owner was the only one working because his help didn't show up.
