Neat spot nearby for Mediterranean / Egyptian-style food. Similar enough to Greek, if that's what you're after, but slightly different if you've had enough of these styles of food to tell the difference. Not bad, just different. Guys inside seem nice enough, food was flavorful and fresh. My lamb kabobs and lamb "chunks" were good quality meat (even if the chunks were a tad overcooked). The tzatziki was cool and refreshing, the rice was plentiful, and the tabbouleh was palate cleansing between each bite. Not bad for a local, non-chain joint!

Wonderful restaurant even celebrated my mom's birthday! Tables and chairs and comfy booths. Nice clean restaurant delicious food!

Everything was delicious. We're so glad we came here. We had the mixed Gyro. Rice, hummus, pita bread, the Philly cheesesteak was delicious and cheesy. Also the appetizer sampler was really great came with hummus, falafel, grape leaves, and pita bread and tzatziki. Gerges was there to help us order and had knowledge as well as being kind and hospitable.

We were told by some friends that this place is worthy. It's very good but it's also mildly seasoned. Oh, a tip - serving size is large. We ordered way too much for what we needed. We wanted a mix so we had beef shawerma sandwich, hummus & bread, grape leaves and a chicken kabob. The beef shawerma was mildly seasoned but it was good. The chicken was also on the mild side but tender and juicy. Salads were a nice mix, we had cucumber dressing which was nice. The grape leaves were great! Hummus was mild but good. Nice place, nice people. Service was fast. I'd do it again.

Koftaky Grill is a great place to visit for lunch, offering up tasty food that is fresh and fast. They do offer a lunch special (gyro and a side), but there are many other items on the menu, too, like falafel, shawarma, and gyro plates. You get to choose toppings for your sandwich or plate, and it is made to order. The staff was friendly and I did not have to wait long at all. If you are in the area be sure to give them a try!

I had read in several reviews that the hawawasi was really good, so I decided to branch out from my norm and give it a shot. It wasn't as exciting as I had anticipated, but still more flavorful than it appears to the eye, and spicy (in flavor, not heat). I was confused why it was served with ketchup, but after dipping some pieces, it makes sense now. It's good either way, but I like it better with ketchup. The falafel was delicious. Lots of flavor and fried perfectly. The falafel side was served with pita and some sauce. But even with the sauce it seemed all a bit too dry? Anyway, I would eat a whole platter of that falafel by itself! Very good. I think the price is a little steep for this side though. The food item I was most surprised about? The grape leaves. They were incredibly flavorful and not swimming in oil as I often find them served by others. Just absolutely amazing - the unexpected star of the show! I definitely recommend giving this grill a try. All of our food seemed prepared when ordered with fresh ingredients, and I'd love to try some other items on their menu.

I am in Nashville this week and wanted to find something good to eat close to my Airbnb. The traffic is horrific here and I really didn't want to have to drive all over the place. I checked an app and found several possibilities but decided to try the Koftaky Grill Mediterranean and Egyptian restaurant. It is located in Oakwood Commons shopping center in Hermitage, TN. The restaurant is clean and bright and inviting. There were only a couple of people in there besides me but it was the middle of the afternoon so who's eating lunch at that hour right? Me. I ordered the shrimp plate because I really like shrimp. The photos looked very good, too. I'm happy when restaurants show photos on their menus. Sometimes I just don't know what things are. I ordered dinner and asked for Coke Zero but they don't have it. They carry Diet Coke and I don't like Diet Coke. I opted for a bottle of water. I usually drink water with my meals anyway because, I don't know, I just like it. It didn't take long for my shrimp plate to come up and he called me over to the counter. He asked if I wanted cucumber or ranch dressing and since I don't really like ranch so much I opted for the cucumber . I don't remember having it before but I liked it. I got my plate, grabbed my bottle of water from the cooler and went to sit down to enjoy it. I was pleasantly surprised when I open the container. There was a great green salad and some kind of bread. I'm sure it has a name but I don't know what it is. There were plenty of good size shrimp and they were cooked perfectly. I used to cook at a seafood restaurant so I know what to expect. The shrimp were on a bed of rice that was filled with cooked onions and peppers. It was all very, very delicious and I'm really glad I went there for lunch. When I finished my meal and was getting ready to go the gentleman at the counter asked me how I enjoyed my food. I told him I loved it and I would definitely be back. I really appreciate when an owner takes an interest in his customers that way. It tells me that he cares about what he's serving and wants everyone to be satisfied. I was very pleased with the quality of the food, the amount of food and the service. I usually stay in the Hermitage area when I come to Nashville so I will definitely be back to this place for lunch. It's one of my new favorites in Nashville. If you are looking for something a little different you can't go wrong at Koftaky Grill.

I'd…read moresaved them in my Nashville bookmarks for some time after they received a lot of acclaim on Yelp - I believe at one time they were on a Yelp list of best restaurants in the US. We were certainly excited to try Uzbek food, as there's nowhere that serves it where we live. The restaurant doesn't look like too much from the outside and the parking lot is a little run down. However, the inside is very updated and super clean and comfortable. There's lots of seating, what appears to be a private room in the back, and some high-tech features, like a machine that you can use to alert waitstaff if you need a refill, a to-go box, or any other kind of attention. The bathrooms were also immaculate. Service was a little strange. I wouldn't say it was slow - every time we placed an order or had a request, our food or items were promptly brought out to us. However, the challenge came in getting the attention of our waitresses. Two ladies took care of us, alternating based on availability. One was very nice and friendly, the other a little gruff and irritable-seeming. But both were completely averse to coming in and checking on us without one of us flagging them down. Perhaps they're used to the little machines? I don't like using those because they come across as too demanding; I'd prefer to just be visited and checked in on from time to time by staff. Not so here. Despite not being very busy, our visit took a lot of time, even though the actual food service was fairly quick. Onto the food, the most important part. We ordered a lot because I wanted to experience as many unique dishes as possible. One waitress first brought out a complimentary serving of pita and what I believe was suzma, which the menu describes as a yogurt-based cheese. This was one of the highlights of our meal, actually, as the pita was hot, fresh, and very lightly charred. The suzma went very well with it. Then we ordered a chicken somsa and some Uzbek bread. The chicken somsa was alright; the pastry was delightfully flaky, but for me it was way too onion-forward. The Uzbek bread was another highlight. It was a temperature and textural delight - so warm and fluffy - if not a flavor bomb. It was great to polish off the remaining suzma from our complimentary treat. For entrees, my husband wanted to try the signature osh, while I ordered chicken shashlik. The osh was probably the better of the two but he didn't love it. It was quite greasy and the lamb was on the gamey side. My chicken shashlik had definitely been near charcoal too long; it had an overly-charred, unpleasant chemical-y taste. The accompanying rice had so much butter or oil in it that it was greasy, too, and although that imparted more flavor into it, I felt gross after a couple of bites. Everything was cooked well, just the flavors really didn't quite come together for us on this visit. It's hard for me to believe, given the average outstanding reviews and consistent praise this place gets, that our experience was an average one. Perhaps we just came on an off day or ordered the wrong things for our palates, since we're fairly unfamiliar with this cuisine. I would be willing to try again some day, but sadly our first visit didn't quite wow the way we'd hoped it would. I appreciate the clean and pretty environment and quickly prepared food!

Everything is meant to be share style on the menu, and so we opted to do a few starting dips with pita bread as well as some salads and two main dishes. The pita bread was honestly the highlight of my night! It was made fresh and it was so simple, but so delectable on its own, even without the hummus, which was also delicious. I think this is one of the best places you can go for good appetizers. I felt that the meat was good, but not as stand out as the hummus and the asparagus salad. I would love to come back for the pita bread alone. The service was exceptional, with an attentive and friendly staff.
