    Gyro Spot
    Jim F.

On a recent trip to Brentwood I was dying for a gyro. Like, literally dying, gasping for air, sure I was would expire if I didn't have a gyro within a few hours. (ok, I exaggerated at bit) Google told me that Gyro Spot was the closest (about 3 miles from my hotel), go I thought to myself "Self, you can do this..you can last that 3 miles drive". Of course, at 4:00 in the afternoon that drive is nearly 20 minutes (thank you, Brentwood traffic). Gyro Spot sits in a retail area facing Old Hickory Boulevard. It doesn't have a flashy, high-tech storefront, it's just a red and white awning that says "Gyro Spot". Once inside the restaurant looks bigger than it does from the outside. It's not elaborately decorated, but it's comfortable and roomy. The menu board presents all the options, and there are A LOT. Since I was about to cease to exist if I didn't get a gyro soon, I went with a traditional gyro and fries. (Side note: You can get your gyro on a flat bread or in a pita pocket). My life-saving gyro took less than 10 minutes to deliver. And MAN, was it amazeballs. Not only was it everything I was looking for to keep me alive, but it was well portioned and the fries were perfectly seasoned and HOT. Absolute perfection. Seriously. The staff was GREAT and they run a very efficient operation in a small kitchen without tripping over each other. On my next trip I ordered the gyro, once again, but without the fries and I was plenty full afterwards, proving that the portions are perfect without being obnoxious. Gyro Spot has become a must-visit on my monthly trip to Brentwood. I don't need to find a new place to get a great gyro. I've already found one.

Highly recommended- after almost 10 years since my first visit. A local favorite. Same friendly and attentive staff members. Same delicious quality food and same great welcoming atmosphere. Gyro Spot holds a permanent place in my list of 'eatin spots' I love the fact they have sumac on the table.

The spicy chicken plate with salad and rice is one of, if not the best thing on the menu! Fresh, healthy and full of flavor. Great service. You feel right at home.

Being fully vaccinated, my wife and I headed out for lunch at a local restaurant, Gyro Spot We've been here before and were already familiar with the menu. My order was their lamb kebob. When served, the perfectly grilled lamb wasn't served on a skewer. Rather, it was cascaded over the fluffy, moist yellow rice Both of us ordered baklavas for our desserts. Mine was one of the best baklavas that I've ever eaten. Winner!! Now to rate Gyro Spot. The quality of their food far overshadowed the minor inconvenience of waiting for our order. Were are returning to Gyro Spot and recommend it to others. An easy Five Stars.

Nashville's best gyros and it's not even a close contest. The gyro is the featured item here and the best choice. I normally get the lamb gyro with double meat and loaded with all the available toppings. Everything is so fresh and tasty. I've never been disappointed. If you're hungry for great tasting lamb and you like gyros, you'll really enjoy this place. Highest recommendation!

The outside appearance doesn't do it justice. It's spacious and clean on the inside. The both rooms are nice. The food was amazing. I had the chicken, my friend had the gyro. It was amazing! A ton of food. The rice could have used a lil more seasoning, just my opinion but the pita was literally, the best I've ever had. EVER. the freshness was through the roof and the people were lovely. Will be here a lot

falafel, hummus, pita on the left and a gyro salad on the right.

I was in the area and craving falafel/hummus so I looked on Yelp for a spot nearby. The guys at the counter were friendly and joking around with me. I paid $18 for a gyro salad with falafel, hummus, and pita on the side. They gave me a ton of gyro meat, I swear there was more gyro than lettuce (not complaining, haha). It was yummy - I'd visit again.

Physical Location & Service: The space itself is great. It's clean, airy, and thankfully cool, which is a lifesaver in a Nashville summer. There's also plenty of seating available. The cashier and the workers were friendly, which was a nice touch. Food & Flavor: This is where it all fell apart. I got the build-your-own bowl with the Mediterranean harissa chicken. I'm not sure if they got the memo that this is the home of hot chicken, but the harissa chicken was completely bland and not spicy at all. The rice pilaf was a major letdown--super under-seasoned and crunchy, like some of the grains were uncooked. The tzatziki sauce was also underwhelming, just an unseasoned yogurt mess with no flavor. Value: All of that came to $17 for a very unsatisfying meal. I wasn't expecting an authentic Greek experience, just something Greek-adjacent, and this felt more like something from a bland potluck. Definitely not worth the price for the quality of food received.

I've wanted to eat at Fattoush Café since I moved to Nashville, but I've never found myself in that part of town at meal time. We walked in and found a cozy atmosphere, with no pretense. A single gentleman behind the counter, who may have been the owner, begged our indulgence as none of his employees had shown up to work that day. We were fine to wait given the delicious smells coming from the grill. He asked us if we wanted the chicken shawarma, and then apologized because he was freshly cooking a batch and it would take 15 minutes to be ready. That was music to our ears. Any Mediterranean restaurant that cooks proteins to order shows great promise. We had a chicken Shawarma salad, and the super platter. The portions were tremendous, the proteins were spectacular, and the tzatziki and spicy sauce both tasted looked and smelled homemade. The hummus was some of the best I've had in this town. The total for two huge meals, that really fed us each twice, was a paltry $40. The man behind the counter thanked us for coming in, again thanked us before we left, and was genuinely kind and seemed happy to have us in the restaurant. Very highly recommended for an amazing Middle Eastern meal on Charlotte Pike near downtown Nashville.
