L-R: Gyro Plate, $8.99 prior to tax. Falafel Salad, $9.99 prior to tax (Total $20.74 after tax)

Gyro Star is located in the same plaza as Food Lion, specifically located next door to China King with plenty of parking. Since our hotel was very close by this restaurant, we ended up ordering food to go from here twice, 2 days in a row. I will just share our experience with the last order we made, which was: Gyro Plate, $8.99 prior to tax- This entree came with a small side salad, pita bread and rice. There was a good portion of meat as well. This entree really is perfect for two or leftovers for a 2nd meal. The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned. The rice was tasty and the pita bread was warm. Excellent price for the amount. Falafel Salad, $9.99 prior to tax- I opted for a falafel salad and had requested that dressing to be on the side. I was surprised to find such large pieces of falafel. It was tasty and had great texture. Very filling and perfect to share or leftovers for another meal. ------------------------- (Total= $20.74 after tax) After we made our to go order over the phone, we were told it would be ready in 15 minutes. When we arrived, we had to wait in line to pay at the register. Our food was ready though so that was nice that we didn't have to wait additionally after paying. Although this place does have seating, it seems like most patrons were just coming in to pick up and pay for their to go orders like us. Gyro Star is a hidden gem and would love to come back here and try their other entrees.

Kofta plate. Great! Fried, not grilled, but still pretty good.

Great food, especially for the price and large quantities. I normally get the gyro plate or mixed grill plate (chicken & lamb/beef gyro meat). Been around for about 5 years or so now. Clean service area.

Reasonably priced food but you're mostly paying for sides. Everything is cooked and set up right in front of you. Quick service. Quality of food is a solid 3 out of 5, in my opinion: - Chicken is a little on the dry side, so if you're ordering the meat - go with gyro meat. - Plates are tricky - they have a ton of rice and just some meat on very top. - they cut burritos in half and "fold" them so be prepared for a little messy food if taking out. We bought 4 adult meals and 1 kids meal (plates, gyros and burritos) for total of 43$.

First time ever eating Gyro. I went with steak classic combo with cucumber sauce. The combo comes with fries and a soft drink. Not sure what the dessert is called but I wanted to try full experience.

Top notch. Clean, fast, and friendly. Meats were hot, juicy, and full of flavor. Rice was hot and delicious. Seasoned to perfection. As a multi generational Nashvillian. This is the BEST Gyro spot in Nashville. Now go check it out!!!!

Food is consistently great, been coming here for shawarma for the past year. Great portions for the price. Very easy to call in order and pick up in 15 mins because staff is friendly and hospitality. Not a dine-in, definitely all take-out orders. Great gyro.

This is a great place to order and pick up. It was our first time trying it out and we will be back. It is close to our house and food was good!

Hummus was dense and not as smooth or creamy but that's like complaining about different versions of mashed potatoes. Some like chunky some like smooth, some like skins some don't. Etc. Presentation is outstanding too. Lots of options. But, the chicken was where this fell off. It makes no sense either. They're roasted these whole bad boys of fire and my mouth was watering. Got my chicken pitas and they were mushy with nasty skin and bones all throughout. No sense of being "pulled" chicken whatsoever. Like I said, I ordered 2 of them and both were like dog food texture. It was the weirdest disappointment and then to bite down on bits of bone! Not in the "oh that means it's fresh" way either. Like someone somehow screwed up. Couldn't even eat em. Anyway, pic of the open faced beef because it was insanely good. But they gotta get this chicken thing fixed. I *expect* boneless skinless breast only. Dark meat mix is okay I suppose but not supposed to have skin and bones in there. lol

The restaurant is well established and doesn't rely on frills and gimmicks to attract their clientele. Lots of brown and neutrals dominate the aesthetic - cultural decor and an occasional tv can be spotted along the walls. All the kebabs are well seasoned and full of flavor. The meat is both crispy and juicy. The complimentary pita is served warm and is pillowy soft. Some of my favorite hidden gems on this menu are on the appetizer list. Don't skip over the chefs appetizer with creamy cheese, olives, herbs and ground walnuts! I also love the light but flavorful white bean soup with tomato broth and generous chunks of chicken.

They maintain an impressively enormous menu with just about every style of kabob on the planet! They also serve lamb shanks, gyros, and falafel among other options. The lamb is extraordinarily tender and pretty tasty, although the flavor isn't nearly as good as the best I've eaten in the Middle East. But I have unfairly high standards as a world traveler. The beef dishes are very good too, but again, not the best I've had. The service is fantastic with welcoming employees who make you feel right at home. House of Kabob is a worthy stop if you love Persian cuisine.

I've wanted to eat at Fattoush Café since I moved to Nashville, but I've never found myself in that part of town at meal time. We walked in and found a cozy atmosphere, with no pretense. A single gentleman behind the counter, who may have been the owner, begged our indulgence as none of his employees had shown up to work that day. We were fine to wait given the delicious smells coming from the grill. He asked us if we wanted the chicken shawarma, and then apologized because he was freshly cooking a batch and it would take 15 minutes to be ready. That was music to our ears. Any Mediterranean restaurant that cooks proteins to order shows great promise. We had a chicken Shawarma salad, and the super platter. The portions were tremendous, the proteins were spectacular, and the tzatziki and spicy sauce both tasted looked and smelled homemade. The hummus was some of the best I've had in this town. The total for two huge meals, that really fed us each twice, was a paltry $40. The man behind the counter thanked us for coming in, again thanked us before we left, and was genuinely kind and seemed happy to have us in the restaurant. Very highly recommended for an amazing Middle Eastern meal on Charlotte Pike near downtown Nashville.

This standout Lebanese restaurant was perfect for date night - modern "earth materials" interior (stone, concrete, and wood everywhere), dim/cool lighting, excellent food... and a constant CyberPunk/lo-fi music bringing good vibes! I'l rank what we ordered from best-to-least (tho it was all good): 1. Baklava w/ Orange Blossom Yogurt dessert - as a dip (perfect pairing!) 2. Aromatic Grilled Fish (crispy & meaty!) 3. "Not Not a Margarita" (strong & tangy!) 4. Hummus w/ Minced Sirloin (unusual but awesome pairing!) 5. Lamb Shank (fall-off-the-bone tender... could be a tad crispier?) 6. We started with the spinach fatayer, arnabeet, and the hummus beyrouti. The hummus beyrouti (classic hummus topped with chopped sirloin) was good, but not a standout--I'd probably try something else before ordering it again. The spinach fatayer and arnabeet, though, were great. As two people who don't usually love beets, the arnabeet totally surprised us--you really don't taste much beet, and the cauliflower shines. The spinach fatayer was fluffy with a perfectly seasoned filling. Our mains came with a small side of the Epice salad. It was fine, but probably wouldn't order it on its own. I got the za'atar roasted chicken and it was cooked perfectly--super moist on the inside with deliciously crispy skin. The yogurt sauce it sits on was amazing; I just wish there was more of it. Jonathan ordered the lamb shank, and wow. It was fall-off-the-bone tender and such a hearty, comforting cold-weather dish. Food came out so quickly--we were in and out in about an hour, which was a huge plus. We were too full for dessert, but everything looked incredible and definitely gives us a reason to come back. Shoutout to Steven for great service and spot-on recommendations. Great vibes and amazing food all around.
