One of my favorite restaurants growing up was this family Italian joint called Carmine's. My…read morefavorite thing to order there was what they called spaghetti with meatballs. But, speaking to that, it had a couple of intersting aspects. One, they would literally give you 10-20% more if you ordered that dish to go because their to-go containers when filled were noticeably larger than the dishes your entrees came on. And, two, their "spaghetti" was actually linguine and is 100% the reason linguine is my favorite noodle when it comes to traditional rope pasta. I told you that to tell you this, Fayzano's "linguine" is definitely fettuccine. Those noodles were super wide. Not that that's a huge deal, but much like getting linguine when you're expecting spaghetti, the mouth feel for fettuccine is not the same as the mouth feel for linguine. It holds the sauce different, it retains the clams different, and the proportion of sauce to pasta is super different. I mean--it was good. Clams in red sauce will always be my preferred go-to order, but I still would've rather had the skinnier flat noodles of a linguine than a super wide fettuccine noodle. It's just more satisfying to me. The service here was good. They got our food quickly and with minimum banter. And then they got out of the way, checking in maybe every five to ten minutes, which is the perfect amount. The ambiance was good. It's a good neighborhood pizza and pasta joint like Carmine's. It's not very big but it has a lot of spacing between the tables as not to feel cramped up in there. It's also deceptively laid out to feel fuller than it is, which is nice. It gives the whole place a nice energy. I still wish thru had real linguine, but if that's my chief complaint then you know this place is doing something right.

They have the best flavor and the owners that started this growing business are very kind and friendly people. We stopped on the other day for dinner on our way through at this Mt. It wasn't like 1 song, it was all of them. I understand most people are into that sort of thing these days, but not everyone is. I find it difficult to understand how drug use, blatant disregard for law, sexual and police violence are typically considered crimes on the news, yet we and our kids sing about it all the time like it's cool? Maybe one day it will just be a new way of life. Who knows. I still think they have some of the best hot chicken around, I just wish they could be a little more less aggressive with the store music choices.

When they first opened, it was so sleek and shiny - a long way from what it is today! We ate there last Sunday the 19th of April. There is duct tape EVERYWHERE trying to hold the once glossy, once white, once clean laminate in place. The booth we sat in (also cushion ripped and worn) had no less than 6 strips of duct tape holding it together. If you look around the dining room, it is on most of the joints, keeping them together. It is als VERY junky and cluttered. Went to the bathroom (another area that needs a lot of work) and there are rolling storage cabinets lining the hall making it very claustrophobic. On the way back to the table I looked behind the bar - a hodge podge of tools and caulk guns and whatever else I do not know piled in the floor. It was a mess. Corners and baseboards, chair legs and booth bases were just - dirty. Years of residue built up. Probably won't eat inside ever again, it is just so depressing, especially after knowing what it once was. We were there at prime lunch time after church and there were only three tables seated and a couple of to go customers.
