    Bourbon cocktail--refreshing
    Carroll V.

With Deb Paquette's downtown place being our favorite in Nashville, we finally made a special effort to go to her Green Hills restaurant named Etc. We were not disappointed. The feel is like a comfortable bistro, with a soft wood tones-and plenty of natural light on the interior and a large sidewalk patio. Service was prompt and professional, as expected. Fun springtime cocktails complemented the appetizers. The take here on the cauliflower differs from downtown--tempura flash fried--but just as tasty. And the etch salad from downtown makes its appearance in the suburbs as well. But there was something lost in the translation--a bit too much of the orange ginger dressing took away the tartness of the arugula. Maybe that's how they like it in the 'burbs. Entrees were solid. Highly recommend the shrimp pasta, the chili sauce adds bite; the shrimp was perfect and the serving is generous. Unfortunately cannot lavish similar praise on the fish of the day. The grouper was well prepared, with flavor but skimpy. The blue corn grit cake was a bit dry. Good but not perfect, and there's the surprise. Fish has always been Paquette's strength since Cakewalk--yeah I date myself with that reference--so this dish just didn't meet the standard. I will treat it as a one-off and look forward to my next visit because everything else was brilliant and enjoyable.

After a morning spent learning all the ins and outs of Nashville (did you know there's a full-scale Parthenon here?!), we decided it was time to switch gears from tour bus casual to "ladies who lunch" chic. Enter Etc. -- the kind of place where you suddenly wish you'd worn bigger sunglasses and referred to everyone as "darling." Let's talk about Chef Deb Paquette, the culinary queen behind this gem. She's a certified food wizard with more awards than I have Tupperware lids (and I hoard those things). Honestly, I would trust her with my life or at least my lunch order. Now, the gazpacho. OH. MY. GAZPACHO. I don't know what kind of tomato sorcery went into that bowl, but it was hands down the best gazpacho I've ever had. It was so good I briefly considered licking the bowl, but remembered I was trying to keep it classy. At least until dessert. The food? Elevated. The ambiance? Chic yet cozy. The parking? Valet, baby -- because sometimes a lady just needs to step out of her ride like she owns the place. This spot is a must-visit next time I'm in town. Nashville may be famous for hot chicken and honky tonks, but Etc. reminded me that sometimes, the best thing you can do is sit down, sip something sparkly, and eat soup that makes you weep a little with joy.

Shrimp Pasta. This was a favorite of ours. So many flavors and so tasty. ( 9.2/10 )

We visited ETC. for the first time today for a weekday lunch and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and all seemed very happy. The service was topnotch. The interior of the restaurant is clean and classy. They had a full bar with a list of wines and other alcoholic beverages. There are some street parking spots and they offer valet parking from 11:00 to 2:00 during the week ( I'm not sure about the weekends ) They had some outdoor seating with umbrellas. Our server informed us that everything is made in house except for the bread which is delivered fresh daily from a local Bakery. She also told us that they have their own pastry chef for their desserts, so we did get the Brown Butter Hazelnut Cake ( Delicious ) We had a very pleasant experience overall at this Classy restaurant. 5 Star from me and I will be going back.

10 stars + !! The food was perfection. Chef Deb is the same owner as Etch in Downtown. Etc is a mini Etch hence the name. Most menu options are dairy and gluten free but that does not detract from the quality in any way. I had the salmon special and it was one of the rare dishes that was bursting with flavor but not overly buttered, salted, or fried. The bread is served with a new type of butter creation every evening. Ours had 2 butters: sweet chocolate and the savory butter was similar to a potato chip. Both were outstanding And the desserts, oh my, so good. Please don't miss out on this restaurant, especially if you're staying next door at the Marriott or Hyatt. It's a 1 minute walk.

From 8-year anniversary 2-years ago of first time dinner dinning to 10-year anniversary 2nd time dinner dinning. Same waiter and same great service! Same delicious drinks and food! It is small-ish corner restaurant, so when fully booked it may seem loud with everyone's conversations. However, still intimate with all the lighting and decor. Plenty of easy and no payment parallel street parking. Quiet neighborhood of hotels and businesses at night. We will DEFINITELY dine at the rest of 4Top Hospitality's other restaurants here in Nashville. Make sure to sign up for their rewards program!

Amazing dinner. Amazing service. Might be my new favorite spot in Nashville. We came here for a double date at the recommendation of the other couple and were blown away. First off the service was amazing and our server was so helpful (along with the bartender) and it truly felt like they were old friends or something. She was well versed in the menu and wasn't afraid to be honest with us about things based on our likes. The menu is simple yet complex and we were each blown away by the main dish we got. I got the special fish of the day which was amberjack and I'll be dreaming about the bed of grits it came on for eternity. We had a wide variety of drinks and enjoyed every aspect of the meal. We will definitely be back.

First let me say the service by all was amazing! I love places where the server can explain a meal with passion. Well that's how Cole did. The menu was funny at first me and my sweetheart wasn't sure what we saw grabbed us so we settled for shrimp tostadas (his) and cat fish po mi (mine) the presentation was beautiful and the taste was excellent. I am really funny with my catfish but this was fried to perfection. It was a huge sandwich so I had to eat open faced but every bite of everything the meal came with was amazing!!! My sweetheart's shrimp - somebody press charges - again perfection! Must go if you are in town!

One of the best restaurants in Nashville! Food is consistently good here with so many unique flavor combinations. Presentation for each dish is superb and staff is very friendly. Highly recommend this place! It's so good!!

My late lunch at Etc. was perfection. The ambiance and service were exceptional. As a foodie with severe gluten and corn allergies, I was thrilled that the staff ensured almost any meal could accommodate my dietary restrictions. Everything was flavorful and delicious. I've already told my friends about it and plan to return for dinner soon, as I know it will be fantastic as well. I love dining at places that go the extra mile to ensure my experience is enjoyable. Thank you, Etc.!

Beautifully curated dishes, with plenty of healthy options. The food was simply delicious. Our server was not only attentive, but also entertaining! An intimate setting in a lovely neighborhood - really enjoyed this restaurant. It's a little "spendy" - worth it for a special night out with friends!

    cocoa coffee venison
    Bryan H.

Dang!!! this was delicious. I started off with the Bake Fetta (baked feta roasted red bell pepper, tomatoes, currants, olives, capers, preserved lemon, mint orange syrup, warm focaccia wedge, avocado) and finished off with the (Cocoa Coffee Venison - medium rare plantain carrot relish, masa griddle cake, black bean mole, blackberry gastrique, sugar peas, ginger crema). I wish I could take a whole loaf of the masa griddle cake!! Everything was delicious. The vegetables were just okay but still pretty good. Highly Recommend

    Warm Brown Butter Cake
    Glen F.

It was the worst of times, it was the best of times. Started with the Eggplant Tempura, which although containing a multitude of fresh ingredients, was strangely flavorless. So much so that I briefly wondered if I had Covid was was experiencing the flavor loss thing. But the venison. Wow. A panapoly of interesting and wonderful flavors. Like walking through a magical bazaar where each stall offered a completely different experience, but it all made sense somehow. Get the carrots as a side. They represent root vegetables in a spectacular way. Desserts...heck yeah! The panna cotta and the brown butter cake were equally robust flavor extravaganzas. The service was a little, IDK, beset by trope-ridden humor. Meh. So that's why not 5 stars.

    Sesame Cured Salmon
    Paul J.

Wow, this place is really good. Ambling through tony Green Hills, we came upon Etc. and was able to snag a table. We started with the bread and butter - toasted and charred sourdough with a sweet cherry butter and a savory peanut butter. Then the sesame cured salmon stacked on top of a rice fritter with watermelon and tobiko, perfectly hitting all the taste buds. Then we split a cornmeal catfish with kashmir shrimp - perfectly cooked, large and flaky filet with plump shrimp, then the latin eggplant & mushroom filo tart, deep and earthy, a nice mix of textures in addition to flavors. And we finished it off with the olive oil almond cake with blackberry fig puree and vanilla bean crema, and burnt orange ice cream. Definitely worth a visit if you're ever in Nashville!

Do you ever serve Haddock? Seems like the most popular fish in the Northeast is not available in Nashville?

Hi Kevin! While we don't serve haddock, we do feature a variety of other rotating fish options including salmon, mahi, kingklip, corvina, redfish, cobia, and trout.

The burrata, grilled steak flatbread, Lobster Arancini, and lobster ravioli were all very good and worth the money. However, the bison burger was not that great, and neither were the california flatbread or the fig and prosciutto flatbread. So it was very 50/50 on whether or not the food was good/worth it which is not great when things are on the expensive side. They also seemed to be out of a lot of food/sides which made it harder as well. The service was a little slow & we were the only table but I'm not sure if that had to do with the owner firing one of the chefs right after we ordered.

Appetizers, we got meatballs and wings. We also got a chocolate lava cake with cookies and cream ice cream as a dessert. 10/10 across the board! The wings are definitely a must - it's super light / airy crunch with great flavor. Their sauces are definitely homemade. The shrimp and grits... wow! Super buttery and creamy with amazing shrimp and gravy sauce. Must ask if they have dessert because the lava cake was SO decadent and warm. Will definitely be staying at the Hilton hotel and coming to this restaurant every time we come to Nashville! HEADS-UP the happy hour menu is bar-top only, so plan accordingly if you're going specifically for those deals. Limited seating available. Happy Hour & Spice Level I had the happy hour cocktail it was bourbon, lemon and honey. The food was flavorful overall, but I do wish the menu clearly noted which items are spicy. Most of the happy hour dishes seemed to have some kind of chili oil or heat element. That may be great for people who enjoy spice, but it would be helpful to know ahead of time, especially if you're sensitive to heat. For dessert, we always come back for the chocolate panna cotta with graham cracker crumble and burnt marshmallow, which was a nice sweet finish. This one is a must! To put this into next level I recommend adding the pretzel bites instead of graham cracker and a few salted flakes. We also tried the almond butter cornbread with blackberry, but I would avoid it. It was pretty dry and didn't have enough balance. The manager? Said it was a new item they were trying. I think it would be much better with ice cream or a salted caramel sauce to add moisture and richness. It was dry even when I mentioned it they didn't comp it we only had a bite and immediately decided it wasn't worth it. Final Thoughts Overall, Answer is a nice spot with a great happy hour, but clearer spice notes on the menu and a few tweaks to the dessert options would make the experience better. If you are seating by the bar it gets loud I wish the bartender doesn't just throw the drinks/plates so aggressively that it clanks. We had never been there and had questions but she would just point at the menu. I ordered a Diet Coke, which came in a can, one person with me ordered an old fashioned which was more glass than drink and the other people picked a beer from the list the bartender silently pointed at. This would have been a cool place if at least 1 person working here didn't look like they hated being there. Because of how we had been treated from the start we only ordered 2 appetizers, the dip and the flatbread. The dip was fine but the flatbread was like cat food on burnt toast. Oh and don't bother ordering a tea, I saw them serving bottles of gold peak tea, can't even brew tea. I do not recommend this spot unless you are okay with feeling like a burden and eating subpar food.

It's definitely on the pricier side for brunch in Nashville, albeit probably in line for 12S. My partner's French toast was little burnt. The best thing was the truffle parm fries, but mainly because of the dipping sauce. I had the Beverly Club but it wasn't anything special and a little pricy for what it is. The venison was tender, perfectly cooked, and seasoned to perfection. Dessert was unforgettable. The chocolate mousse à la mode was rich yet light, paired with creamy vanilla ice cream and a hint of passion fruit. Three of us ordered that. We knew it would not be for sharing. The blueberry sundae featured the best blueberries we've ever tasted. And then there was the chocolate peanut butter brownie ice cream. As someone who's spent years trying chocolate peanut butter ice cream everywhere-from roadside shops to gelato in Italy-I can confidently say ETCH's version deserves to be considered one of the best in the world. The creamy chocolate and peanut butter, combined with rich brownie pieces, made it absolutely unforgettable. Normally I'd recommend a favorite dish, but I can't-because everything we ordered was exceptional. My advice? Go with a group, order a variety of dishes, and share everything. My wife ate it, and she is not a huge Guac fan; so that says a lot for the Guac. Early evening Entrees were chicken parm and I had buffalo chicken sandwiches with fries. House made pickles on the sandwich were ok. Apple slaw was a good compliment to the buffalo chicken. Looks like they used the same breaded chicken that they use on the chicken parm for the buffalo chicken sandwich. Fries were good. Some very very hard and overcooked. Chicken parm was cooked well and the pasta was cooked well. One of my biggest pet peeves when out to dinner anywhere is keeping the drinks filled. No matter what it is, soda, tea, etc. That does not happen here. That would be my only negative take from this place. Other than that, we would definitely suggest checking out this place for lunch/brunch or dinner. They do have live music at night as well if that is your cup of tea. Pricing is a bit higher than some, so be aware that you may pay a little more to eat here, but the food is fresh and the menu is health conscious.

The food was fresh, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was reliable. It felt like a place that took pride in what it did. Over the years, I've watched that standard steadily decline. The facility itself shows signs of neglect. The dining room and patio no longer reflect the quality image the brand promotes. Service has become inconsistent, staff turnover appears high, menu knowledge is often lacking, and food quality varies significantly from visit to visit. The most disappointing change has been the food. Dishes that were once simple and ingredient focused now feel altered, reduced, or unnecessarily substituted. The restaurant's original identity was built on fresh, recognizable ingredients. That identity feels increasingly difficult to find. What concerns me most is that none of these issues appear new. They feel systemic and long standing. That suggests either leadership is unaware of the problems or has chosen to accept them. I'm not angry. I'm disappointed. As a longtime customer, I've reached the point where I no longer recommend this location and rarely choose to visit it. In a market with more dining options than ever, that's not a decision I make lightly. If someone from management or corporate reads this, understand that this review is not coming from a customer who had one bad experience. It's coming from someone who remembers how good this restaurant once was and can clearly see how far it has fallen. Whether that matters is up to you.
