Service was great and the food was average. Nothing spectacular but nothing bad, just ok. Not sure if I would necessarily return but happy I tried it out.

J's is heavy in my rotation for good drinks and solid food. We dined in and our service was friendly and quick. The vibes are always right so if you want bar seating with people to chat with it's the perfect spot or seated dining to enjoy a more intimate experience again it's the perfect spot. My chicken was meal was filling and the potatoes were sooo delicious! I had more than enough to take home. We also had the queso and it was the perfect start. The cocktails are always delicious and have the right amount of kick. I would avoid the fruit tea but everything else is chefs kiss and the same with each visit.

The ambiance is very inviting and relaxing. It makes you want to stay awhile and chat before and after you eat. Food is always amazing.

Great spot to grab a bite! J Alexander's is one of my favorite spots. Love this location on West End. The service is always friendly from the time you enter the door until you leave. They have a great menu with many tasty options from salads, sandwiches, steaks, etc. My favorite is the spinach con queso appetizer. Also, you can't go wrong with any salad. All the food is beautifully plated to add to the appeal of the meal. The inside hasn't changed much. They have a great fully stocked bar/bar area, great wine list and space if you dine alone or in a group. The dining room has ample booths and tables. The inside is a little dark and cozy. They have great seats by the window to get sunlight. The menu options are moderately priced. If you have a sweet tooth, I recommend the carrot cake. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a reservation for a Saturday night and were thrilled to be in the space because it's always good! And then...we got a new server. - The food was just decent. My strip was slightly overcooked but the Mac was phenomenal - The vibes were quite louder than normal but okay - Our starters and food came at the same time which was disappointing. Generally, it was meh. I'll try again on another day because it's so abnormal.

I'm really sad that this is a chain, as I tend to stay away from those. We were staying near Vanderbilt and walked over for drinks and dinner. First, understand that their cocktails are automatically a double. I really enjoyed my Makers Mark and Diet Coke, which even had a dried orange slice. It was perfect. I opted for their Thai salmon special for dinner, but subbed broccoli for the pilaf. The salmon portion was generous and perfectly cooked - I would totally get this again and again! My friend ordered the crab cakes and this was my only sadness: the crab cakes were AMAZING and contained very little filler... I really wished I had ordered them also. The service was friendly and pretty quick for a Saturday evening and the noise level was not too loud to carry on conversations, even in the bar. If I ever return to Nashville, I will be back.

Very Best Chocolate cake, is exactly that! Great for birthdays too!! ; )

We returned to one of our favorite places and find that the service continues to deteriorate. We waited 10 mins for greeting, another several for water (which was never refilled) My ahi tuna salad was fine but has less greens and a mountain of the crunchy things. I had to pile them on the side of the plate. Also they serve it with more dressing now so beware. Everyone's food was OK. When our waitress finally returned to prebus and ask about dessert, I wasn't even able to order my coffee or customary chocolate martini before she was gone again. All of our drinks were dry at this point but never refilled. We had even put them all near the edge of the table. So the glasses got taken away. We took it as a sign to go so we did just that. Disappointed and not worth the $210+ tip for dinner for 4.

J's is always a good idea! This was my first time trying Steak Maui and the flavor was great, but the ribeye cut wasn't the most tender. I ordered it medium expecting it to be the perfect temp, but I probably will stick to the filet

Slow roasted prime rib and mashed potatoes.

We started off with a round of champagne and a bottle of red wine for dinner. We tried a variety of dishes since we were told that the set up is family style: Hamachi Crudo: 10/10 one of the best I've ever had! Super fresh and the sauce paired well with it. Bluefin Tune Crudo: 8/10 It was really fresh and well prepared, but I've had better elsewhere. I typically prefer bluefin tuna sashimi or nigiri anyway. Tuna Crispy Rice: 9/10 This was such a fun and delicious way to eat spicy tuna! All of the seasonings made it packed full of flavor. Tomahawk Ribeye 9/10: This was insanely tender, and well seasoned. Tip: ask for lemon wedges to sprinkle some lemon juice on it--thank me later. Broccolini 8/10: well prepared, and I loved the lemongrass garlic chili that topped it East Side Shrimp 7/10: These were well cooked and well seasoned. Loved the salad placed underneath it. Wagyu Tartare 8/10: It was well prepared and loved that it's paired with nori and rice. Wished it had a bit more punch to it in terms of seasoning. Crab Fried Rice 8/10: this was delicious but still say it's a solid 8. Beautifully prepared! Korean Hot Wings 2.5/10: I could tell that it was well cooked, but it was insanely salty; it was practically inedible. Hurricane Fries 9/10: These were so delicious! You are immediately hit with the smell of truffle, which made my mouth water. Packed with flavor! Brussels 7/10: These were well roasted, but the sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking. I highly recommend trying this place out!

By the bar we got to see some of the dishes being made. Great date night spot. Limited parking. This is a tapas spot and our serve did a good job recommending how many dishes to get. The only reason Noko is not getting 5 stars is because the server said that they would time out the dishes for us, so it was best to place our entire order all at once. However, we got 3 dishes and then it took about 30 minutes for other two to come out. Maybe we were eating too fast but felt like we were waiting a while for our food. The food itself was absolutely delicious. There was nothing we ordered that I did not like. Some favorites include the burnt ends lettuce wraps and Korean chicken wings. The Sando, shrimp and tuna crispy rice was also spectacular. The tuna was so flavorful and refreshing on the tuna crispy rice. The sauce of the east side shrimp really makes the dish. I'm not a huge shrimp person but this was really good. This is a must go to spot in Nashville and would definitely want to come back.

Nashville became a clear exception to the rule, delivering a world class, contemporary steakhouse experience into Nashville's more traditional steak scene. Yes, the views are remarkable. Yes, the design of the interior is elegant. But, those criteria would never be sufficient to rank an establishment as world class... Egyptian born celebrity chef Michael Mina has unquestionably become a restaurant mogul at this stage in his career and winning two Michelin stars in his flagship San Francisco restaurant. Expanding into Nashville, he did something truly extraordinary: creating a modern steakhouse concept that delivers on par to the best traditional steak joints of America, but with unique twists and in a special atmosphere. From the incredible trio of fries with homemade sauces, to the appetizer of prawns, to the beef itself, everything is prepared at a level of perfection. Staff are professional and attentive, with a clear level of polish that one would expect to find in a high end establishment as such. Thus, whether for special event or a nice evening out, there is little doubt that Bourbon Steak is the place that will impress with quality and ability to deliver a satisfying meal.

It's my last night in Nashville so I want to go to a bang zoom restaurant. A few of my co workers have said to me: Mr Bill, we see every night you're going out to some amazing spots. Mind if we tag along? Sure, the rules are to keep your fork outta my plate when we sit down. Deal? The restaurant is very large, we're shown to our table. Set in the middle of the dining room and facing the bar. The bar can seat at least 25 people, the restaurant is set up for fun. To get our party started, I ordered a well crafted cocktail: Tea'd Up Old Fashioned Made with Bourbon, Black Tea and House Barrel Aged Bitters. Funky?? Oh yeah I'm with a bunch of Military Veterans and they're telling me their crazy stories. I'm sippin' my Old Fashioned and taking it all in, we need to bond over drinks and crazy things we all drank overseas. As an adult, I can appreciate my Nashville TN Old Fashioned with Black Tea. While we're talking, our waitress drops off a plate of homemade biscuits. The biscuits are fire! Buttery, flakey and moist, The Southern Steak & Oyster can make a damn good biscuit. Next, my Gumbo comes to me. The first taste I can tell this is a chef'd up dish. Better than anything I had in New Orleans. This gumbo is filled with Andouille, Crawfish, Shrimp and Fried Okra. Very flavorful indeed. My last entree in Nashville will be Fish 'N Grits. Fresh fish topped with Spicy Tasso Ham over Sweet Potato Grits and Bacon Braised Cabbage. This is a flavorful dish, the grits are very creamy and the cook on the fish was spot on. We had a great night at The Southern Steak & Oyster, it was a pleasure to dine at your restaurant.

Those things are to die for. For my main I got the ribs with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The ribs were amazing and the mashed potatoes were just as good. The Brussels sprouts were really good too, I just wish they'd been a little crispier. Overall, a really good spot. Will definitely be back!

The shrimp was huge and prepared perfectly! The cocktail sauce was very nice, but I like extra horseradish, which they happily provided. Next up was their Prime Skirt Steak and the sides I chose was their creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to a perfect temperature and the chimichurri was so very tasty with it! The mashed potatoes were nice. The creamed spinach looked beautiful and the texture was spot-on, but it had slightly too much nutmeg in it - Still, I enjoyed it. I wanted to save room for dessert though because I was yearning for their Butter Pie, which I ordered eventually. The butter pie definitely didn't disappoint! Your feet snd arms start moving and Vibing ass soon as you walk in. I felt like I was entering a prohibition speakeasy and every drink felt criminal... in a good way. Shout out to Derek Williams singing and playing his sax like a master - truly captivating the entire place. Next time we will eat here because EVERY dish that came out smelled and looked fantastic. I wasn't hungry, but my senses were telling me otherwise! If you're in Nashville, you must check this spot out! Jump, Jive, AND Wail! Woooo (that's worth 50 claps Mr. Williams!)

My fiancé and I are getting married next week, and they surprised us with complimentary champagne, which was such a nice touch. We started with the lobster bisque and the Caesar salad. The Caesar was your standard salad, nothing that stood out, but the lobster bisque was rich, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights. They also had a great selection of cocktails and beer to choose from. For our main we split a NY Strip with mashed potatoes. Now I'm usually a ribeye guy, but I have to say this steak was cooked to perfection. It melted in your mouth, and the butter they used was spectacular. The mashed potatoes were a touch dry for my taste, though my fiancé loved them. The best part might be the atmosphere. You can feel the history the moment you walk in, and the live piano playing in the background ties the whole experience together. We will absolutely be back!

We've been to The Finch three times now--twice sitting at the bar and once at a table. We…read moredefinitely prefer the bar, but I think that's just because we're bar people! The bar has two hidden TVs that you can only see when you sit at the bar, which is such a cool touch. It keeps the space feeling upscale without sacrificing the ability to catch a game. The overall ambiance is great, and the music is always at the perfect volume for an easy conversation. The drinks have been consistently excellent. We've tried both cocktails and wine, and everything has been delicious. The wine is a little overpriced in our opinion, but it was so good that I'm glad we still ordered it! On our most recent visit, we started with the burrata. It was very good, but I do wish there had been more sauce and more cantaloupe. The sauce felt more like an accent than something that really tied the dish together. That said, the perfect bite was definitely the burrata with the prosciutto and cantaloupe! For our entrees, Jonathan ordered the pork chop, and I had the piri piri chicken. Both came with broccolini and patatas bravas. I was expecting traditional Spanish-style patatas bravas, so when whole baby potatoes showed up, I was initially a little disappointed. Don't let that fool you, though--these potatoes were incredible!!! Crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and packed with flavor! They ended up being one of my favorite parts of the meal! My piri piri chicken was fantastic! The portion was much larger than I expected, and the piri piri sauce served on the side was absolutely lick-the-plate good. I found myself dipping the potatoes and broccolini in it because it was just that delicious. Piri piri isn't something you come across often in Nashville, and The Finch absolutely nails it--and at a really reasonable price. Jonathan's pork chop was cooked perfectly with great flavor. It wasn't an over-the-top, show-stopping dish, but for around $30--including both sides--at a more upscale restaurant, it's hard to beat the value. One more recommendation: get the volcano rock shrimp. We had it on a previous visit, and we still talk about it! It's easily one of our favorite dishes we've had here. The Finch has been consistently good every time we've visited, and that's what keeps bringing us back! Great food, great drinks, a fun atmosphere, and solid value for the quality. We'll definitely be back again!
