Went to Halls Catch for the first time today for Easter Brunch. Very nice spread at $75/per person and kids 2-12 $25. We went later in the day and everything still looked fresh and nicely kept. okay pop off happy hour!! Im sure a lot of us have been affected by the ice storm. Seeing that Halls Catch extended their happy hour for the rest of February from open to close was a huge relief for us. We ended up going after work and although we are nurses and were dressed in scrubs and probably had crazy hair they did not treat us differently. We didn't realize how fancy Halls Catch is inside so when we walked in we got nervous that maybe they had a dress code. The inside is classy and the live music was amazing! Seriously, we did not do our research we just knew we wanted seafood and it was right down the road. We literally ordered everything on the happy hour menu I think. Everything was amazing. Our server was great! Multiple people check on us. I mean everyone was so friendly. This is a place I want to come back to just because of the service. Exceptional. My water glass never went dry. We didn't get any cocktails but the girls next to us were getting espresso martinis and have inspired me to get those the next time I come back. read more

I'm so glad I came in for some quick bits and a cocktail with a friend on a recent Friday night! The elevated space had live music and a busy bar area, which I know some people would enjoy but we found the music a tad loud so we sat at a table to distance ourselves from it a bit. We ordered dirty martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives to start us off and they were delicious and perfectly made! They offer a happy hour but sadly we had just missed it. We ordered some items to share, the ceasar salad, burrata and strawberries and the some sushi - the inari bombs which came with crab and a nice kick of jalapeño. Everything was fresh and tasty with great service. Our server split up our salad which is always a nice touch! If you follow my reviews, you know it is extremely rare for me to give a restaurant a perfect rating. But Hall's Catch earned every single star. Everything was on point! The ambience, the music, the food, and the service. We started with the Catch signature sushi roll, grilled octopus, and the lobster bites. (Hot take: The lobster bites are actually better without the honey mustard sauce, the flavor stands on its own!). For the main course, I had the Chilean Seabass. I can't even begin to express how good this was. The texture, the crust on top, and that savory Veracruz tomato broth took the dish to the next level. My colleague had the swordfish which was also outstanding. A huge thank you to our waiter, Stephen. He was extremely attentive, gave great recommendations, and never made us feel rushed. The scallops were tender and so perfectly cooked they cut like butter with my fork. The pricing is a bit on the higher side, but we truly enjoyed everything we ordered. The space is stylish and intimate, though a bit on the smaller side. Valet parking is available, and I believe the first hour is included, with a fee for any additional time afterward. The ambience was lively, the service was so so but they seemed to get distracted easily, and the food was mediocre. The octopus was a bit rubbery and didn't have good flavor. The caviar presentation was beautiful and that was the highlight of the meal. We shared the scallops which were fine, but it was just four scallops sitting in a pool of broth. Ate here our last night in Nashville and I thought it was really good. First, lets start with service, which was top notch. The server, the managers, the bartender and even the chef all came over to our table to talk about everything. And that was an incredible experience to see such an approach to service. Next up, the food and drinks. I have a different review in that I thought it was pretty delicious. We had the parker house rolls and the brazilian cheese bread. Both really good. My wife had the calamari frito and she enjoyed it alot. I had the ora king salmon sashimi and the fettucine and clams for my main, which was definitely larger than the appetizer it was listed as. Really debated giving this a 3 but in the spirit of Giving Tuesday, I'll offer it a 4. Here goes: This is a pretty new seafood restaurant in Nashville, which likes to advertise that their fish is all super fresh, has to be delivered within 1-2 days. Prices are therefore commensurate given that we are surrounded by no water (aka very expensive). First up, the valet parking outside is not based on tips; it's $17 per car which is an exorbitant amount of money. Given we don't really know where else to park in the area, we just decided to go for it but definitely wouldn't do that again! The food was just.. okay. They definitely do live up to their words; I felt like the seafood was all quite fresh and not very fishy, but the flavors and combos were kind of lacking (especially for the price). The fish and chips was probably the best thing we got (although it's not hard to mess up some fried fish and French fries). The seafood stew with tagliatelle was way too tomato-ey, just too overpowering for my taste. The grilled bread that came with it was the best part of that dish. The calamari was average - not super crispy or flavorful. The shrimp and crab cocktail was decent although not very much food. So the seafood was enjoyably fresh but for the price we paid, I expect my food to also taste great, and this just wasn't it for me. read more

The environment and service here are excellent! I particularly appreciate the live singer, who contributes significantly to the relaxing and inviting atmosphere. Happy Hour offers great value overall, but the $2 oysters were a letdown as they were very small and unfortunately quite gritty, there was sand or shells in it. On the food side, the crab sushi and signature sushi were both great. For the crudo, the king salmon was a highlight with its tasty and creamy flavor. My only other note is that the whole hamachi was a bit too strong and overly salty. Overall, I enjoy this place and look forward to returning, but a few dishes could use minor improvements. read more

Finally able to try this place for our anniversary. It's right next to the Chophouse which is where the GPS took us but they were kind enough to walk us over to the correct place. Once we got there you enter into a hotel lobby like area before seeing the restaurant. The ambiance is dark and very upscale. We let the front know our reason for attending and they surprised us with champagne on the house to celebrate our night. The bounty tower was worth it to me, the seafood was so fresh and I loved the opportunity to have so many seafood options especially being in Nashville. The lobster was cooked beautifully and not tough or rubbery whatsoever, never thought I'd enjoy eating lobster again! Because it was so much food, I opted for the Charred Octopus appetizer as my entree and didn't even end up finishing it because I was so full off the tower. And it was perfection with an explosion of flavors that reminded me of Indian flavors between the sauce and chickpeas. My partner got the Halibut, and I have never had a more perfectly cooked fish. It was buttery and flaky with just the right amount of sear. I wasn't a huge fan of the broth it was sitting in, I don't think it did much to enhance the fish by my partner couldn't stop raving about it. Glad we found a second place for amazing seafood. The bartenders and staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and provided exceptional service every time I've been there. The only issue was that the dessert menu is confusingly organized: cognac and dessert wine are listed separately on the right, while alcoholic desserts are mixed into the regular dessert section on the left and only marked with a small asterisk. That makes it too easy to miss that some items contain alcohol, so the menu should be labeled more clearly for customers with alcohol restrictions. All staff are great. Honestly don't know where to start so maybe just keep it simple. I will say the food was good, so that's a positive. But OMG the service, the ambiance, the odor from the kitchen, the odor from the bathrooms, the overall experience was a complete fail. When a restaurant charges those kind of prices they need to deliver in every category and this place delivered on none of them. Maybe it was our servers first day I don't know but again this level of restaurant should be hiring very experienced, very professional staff. Food arriving out of sequence, food not arriving at all without having to ask where it was, food arriving too late to be enjoyed as part of the meal with no self awareness from the staff, food taken away before you were finished (without asking), no review of the specials or asking if we wanted to hear them (turns out they had lobster bisque, would have been nice to know), no acknowledgment of birthday celebration, sewer smell very prevalent, kitchen smoke from oil very prevalent, will have to air out sweaters and coats......I'll just stop there. Anymore feels like piling on. Just a completely underwhelming experience. So many fantastic restaurants in Nashville, but this one needs major improvements. read more

I was excited to take my mom somewhere she has been wanting to go but left super disappointed after spending over $400. The experience will not be memorable in a favorable way. Ambience and aesthetics were nice but the food was very underwhelming for the price point. The only Cabernet on the menu was $30/glass. $74 grouper entree that doesn't come with a side, was fine but not outstanding which I would absolutely expect at that price. Broccoli side dish came out cold, I told the waitress this and she asked if we wanted it boxed up instead of offering to remove it from the bill. It was on the bill when we got the check and I had to ask it to be removed. Service was overall not good (except one newer blonde employee who was so sweet) they were not busy which we now know why, we had dirty dishes sitting on our table from the appetizers for a long time before we finally asked the table to be cleared and for new plates so we could enjoy our salad. We dine out often and throughly enjoy dropping $$$ on delicious food, this was not it and I'm just so disappointed with our experience. Wish I could have spent that money somewhere else. read more

I would personally give this 4.5 stars if I could. The restaurant is across from the Conrad adjacent to Halls Steakhouse. The ambiance is very engaging. The entrance is the office building entrance. A small bar of approximately 8 seats are available if you prefer a bar setting. There is a general dining room you walk into but in the back is a separate room with beautiful light fixtures and the possibility of a beautiful patio setting (heat lamps are available). The menu has several options including non-seafood options including protein and several vegetarian options. The seafood is flown in daily no more than 48 hrs after being caught. I was informed the sushi chef was trained in Japan. I tried the tuna maki roll which was presented well and was very good but given my love for Sushi Bar and 888 Sushi it's difficult to compare. I had the branzino which was very flavorful. But I have to admit my friends' Japanese scallops and fresh mussels + pomme frites (fantastic fries) made me jealous. I tried the mussels and admittedly they are probably some of the best I have ever had. The white wine sauce was perfect! I also saw the table next to us had ordered the fish and chips (I will definitely try next time). Other options that seemed definitely worth trying included fresh lobster and Dover sole (sold out before we arrived and reportedly the chef will fillet table side). I started my meal with the Shiso Fine cocktail and had finished with a lovely Albariño to pair with my branzino. We did not have dessert, we were too full. I will be returning and hopefully will try the other options so I can give it 5 stars next time. Valet services are available. read more
