Went here last night for my sisters birthday! Product itself: I ordered the lobster ravioli, seasonal burrata salad, cowgirl ribeye, and butter cake. Everything came out fabulous. I would say the burrata salad had a little too much of the vinaigrette and it overpowered the citrus and arugula flavors. The steak tastes very much like meat only. Meaning it doesn't taste too much like excess seasonings or butter (how it should be)! I ordered medium rare and came out perfect, they even asked if I wanted chef to cut it for me. I will say their version of a creme brûlée really just tasted like burnt marshmallows, but it's complimentary so how much can one complain. Value: everything I ordered was priced perfectly for the fine dine experience, but there a lot more expensive options! Atmosphere: the vibe was nice. Very diverse customer base. Although fine dine, you don't feel excluded or less than, and I truly think the nice hostess' and my server Rebecca contributed to that. Overall experience: amazing! The menu had my sisters name and happy birthday on it. Rebecca was so kind, you could tell she has been working in fine dine for a while. She gave us some champagne to toast for my sisters birthday and was always around to check on us when we needed. Family brunch after church, had a ball with the Veuve Cliquot addition! The benedict was very nice, although the muffins were a bit tough. The side of candied bacon is generous and piled high, so only order if you plan to share! Tackle it alone and you may die (happily) of diabetes and a heart attack right there at the table. Same goes for the stuffed french toast. The atmosphere is upscale and elegant, fantastic daylight and decor! Our service was prompt and patient with the little ones, but do yourself a favor and go without them when you can, so you can take your time and really enjoy such a pretty restaurant and solid cuisine! read more

Harper's is an elegant restaurant on the periphery of downtown Nashville with impeccable service, an excellent spot for date night! Expect about $300 per couple for a dining experience that offers many unique twists! For instance, the bread service comes with a candle made of beef tallow which turns into a dip as the wick burns down. The tomahawk is seared table-side with a torch, as is the crème brûlée! And it's a rare place that offers the elusive Chateaubriand steak. They even have four-pound loaded baked potatoes. And that's not to mention Nashville's most expensive dish, their signature $1,800 extravaganza for two including a tomahawk steak and a rare cognac. Harper's is undoubtedly a one-of-a-kind restaurant. The calamari is a highlight, a little salty for my taste but one of the best versions in town. The French onion soup is worth trying, its Havarti and Swiss combination beautifully finishing the top! Knowing the countless steak options were all solid choices, I stepped outside my comfort zone and tried elk for the first time since Harper's offers such exotic choices. And it was pretty good. But there's no question the Argentinian Chimichurri saved it. The beef tallow fries are also decent. And yes, the crème brûlée is magnificent! read more

This year for Thanksgiving, my husband and I opted to forego the three-day cooking (and cleaning) marathon and just enjoy a good meal at a nice restaurant. Our experience at Harper's was absolutely incredible - so much so that I'd consider making this an annual tradition! The food and ambiance were certainly noteworthy, but the service stood out as some of the best we've ever had in Nashville. Rebecca was our server, and she was thoughtful, attentive, and as bubbly as the complimentary Prosecco she brought to our table as we were seated. She genuinely treated us like we were old friends, and I would definitely request to sit in her section the next time we dine here! Harper's does offer a Pre-Fixe Thanksgiving menu alongside their full regular menu. While turkey and all the fixin's did sound good, we decided to have a true steakhouse Thanksgiving and it did not disappoint! We worked our way through the menu, and a few highlights were the Beef Wellington Potstickers, Lobster Arancini, Wedge Salad, and the enormous shrimp cocktail! We shared a dry aged NY Strip, and it was cooked exactly to our liking. We paired it with a half-order of broccoli (thanks for the tip, Rebecca!) which proved to be a delicious duo of rich, umami flavors. For dessert, we shared the creme brulee, which may be one of the best I've ever had. The custard is cold and light, with flecks of real vanilla bean throughout. The crust is perfectly torched, and topped with fresh fruit. Although it wasn't a traditional Thanksgiving meal, I didn't find myself missing turkey and gravy in the slightest. Went to Harper's Steakhouse for my birthday and they deliver outstanding service -- truly a 10/10 experience from start to finish. The staff were attentive, friendly, and quick to fix any issues. The bone marrow appetizer, however, was disappointing. There wasn't much marrow at all, and one of the bones came out completely empty. The staff handled it well and brought a replacement, which I appreciated, but overall it's not something I'd order again. The Beef Wellington potstickers were decent -- good, but a bit mid. The standout appetizer was definitely the steak tartare, which was easily the best bite of the night. For my main, I ordered the elk steak and it was excellent -- rich, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I paired it with their old fashion which was a 10/10. I am glad we made reservations! This place was crowded on a Saturday night. I got the Wagyu steak and it did not disappoint!! One of the best steaks I have ever had. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I have ever had in my life. I liked all of the dipping sauces as well but the steak was flavorful enough that you definitely didn't need them. We got the Wagyu meatballs to start and those were incredible as well! The crispy brussels were incredible as well. We shared a piece of the 12-layer cake for dessert which was delicious. We were able to do a half order of the cake which was still a hefty portion. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The interior is gorgeous, warm and inviting. Parking was easy. I came here last night to celebrate my friend's birthday and everything was great. The ambiance, the service, the food. I started off with Manuel the tailor to drink and it was really good. For appetizer, I had the tuna crispy rice which was delicious and shareable. My entree was the Ora king Salmon which was cooked to perfection and I added the crispy Brussels sprouts which was a great addition and also really good. I tried the oysters, the elk steak, butternut squash soup, fries, Brussels sprouts, and the Chilean sea bass. The NY strip and burrata salad were also ordered and was told they were very good too. Came here recently Friday for my birthday dinner with the hubby--they customized my menu to say "Happy Birthday Vy"!!!! Super cool and quite touching. Service and food were excellent--our server Sam was very friendly, charismatic and attentive. To start off, we tried the 2oz. A5 Waygu Hot Rock--meat was very tender and we cooked it on a small hot stone plate. For entrees, the 40 Day Dry-Aged 22oz. Cowboy Ribeye and Alaskan Halibut Oscar were both delicious--huge portions and well flavored! Bone Marrow enhancement to the ribeye was the best idea ever! The Creamed Spinach and Creamy Mashed Potatoes were great too and I especially love the fact that they offer "half portions" of the sides and their portions are still a lot, definitely shareable! For desserts, we tried the Dessert Trio (Carrot Cake, Bread Pudding and Crème Brûlée) thinking these cake slices were small portions but were regular size (huge!) portions--too much food, this is best shareable for a group. Harper's has a great reputation, but there were some serious drawbacks... - quality of ingredients was great, cooked mostly well (steak temps were off for all of us) - most dishes are pre-prepped at scale so if you have dietary restrictions they can't help you - multiple things weren't available - but we weren't told until we tried to order - wine vintages were different - service was good, space is nice. Very popular, on the louder side. Overall not terrible but for over $500 for 2 people I would have wished it was better, prepared to ask and that we could have gotten what we ordered. Harper's is definitely not talked about enough as a top brunch spot in Nashville. It checks off all the marks I look for in a brunch location. The service was exceptional, the food phenomenal, the serve rice Clicqout by the glass, the interior is chic and sophisticated you just can't go wrong. We dined in on a Saturday and it wasn't very busy which allowed for a much more intimate experience for our party of four. We had a 11:30 reservation and we seated immediately and welcomed with a celebratory round on Veuve Clicqout which just doesn't happen often in Nashville. Harper's has a Veuve Clicqout brunch in a separate dining room but we chose to sit in the main dining room this time. We ordered the Ultimate Steak and Egg board which is served with Sliced 40 OZ. Prime Porterhouse, Breakfast Potatoes, Scrambled Eggs, Buttermilk Biscuits, Country Sausage Gravy, Honey Butter, Served w/ Four Specialty Sauces. As if that wasn't enough we added the truffle cream corn and Brussels sprouts. The cream corn was quite the stand out. Certainly worth the visit this dish had us all contemplating a second order because one wasn't enough. I can't say enough about my experience here. Kudos to Carone, Alex and Harper's team for elevating the brunch experience in Nashville. I searched high and low before my trip to find the perfect place to celebrate my birthday, and Harper's exceeded every expectation. After seeing so many great reviews, I booked a Sunday birthday dinner through OpenTable. There is a card required to hold the reservation in case of a late cancellation, which I appreciated because it shows they take the dining experience seriously. From the moment I arrived, I loved every minute of my visit. I was greeted by the hostess, Jasmine, who was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming as I took a few quick photos in the front area. The entry space is very cute and makes for a great first impression. Jasmine then escorted me to my booth, which was comfortable and perfectly placed. The ambiance was exactly what I was looking for. Dim lighting that still allowed you to see your food and your company, a lively bar area for guests who wanted to dine while watching the game, and plenty of space to accommodate larger groups. One of my favorite touches was the personalized birthday menu. Having my name and birthday printed on the menu felt thoughtful and special, and Jasmine's presentation made it even better. Allie was our server and she was attentive, professional, and personable throughout the evening. I started with the beef Wellington potstickers, which were easily the highlight of the meal. They were so good I could have ordered a second round without hesitation. For my cocktail, I ordered a drink that started with Amalfi, and while I cannot remember the full name, it was refreshing and well balanced. For my entrée, I ordered the boneless ribeye cooked medium well, and it was cooked perfectly. The sides are shareable, so we chose the mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms, both of which were rich, flavorful, and complemented the steak beautifully. To end the night, I had the butter cake with apple filling and salted caramel ice cream and topping. The dessert was brought out with a sparkler and Happy Birthday written on the plate, which was the perfect way to close out the evening. The food was delicious and quite the experience. We tried the elk tenderloin, seafood tower, mashed potatoes, bread service, and the bone-in filet chateaubriand (tableside presentation). I uttered "whoa" when I saw the delicious tower of seafood coming to the table. The crab was probably my favorite. The chateaubriand was so tender and flavorful. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. We also did the dessert sampler and received a complimentary creme brulee for my friend's birthday. The chocolate cake was my favorite. It was moist and light. Rich, but not overly rich. A perfect level of chocolate. The atmosphere and ambience made it feel like a modern steakhouse without losing any charm. I may be biased because the company and conversation were exceptional, but I had one of the best times out all around in Nashville at Harper's. The service was great, food was outstanding, and presentation had nice little touches. The whole night was wonderful and my party was so happy to dine at Harper's last night. The interior is classic with very nice seating and very clean. It the first place I have ever eaten where they clean every inch of the booths and tables in between customers, and I mean every inch including the little gap between the cushions in the booths. All of the food was very good. We started with the bread appetizer which had the tallow candle which was good. Steaks were seasoned well and cook as requested and both sides were very good. First of all I want to say we LOVE Harpers and have always had wonderful service and the food has been wonderful. First we started off with the Beef Wellington Pot Stickers and the Wedge Salad and both were fantastic!! I could eat the pot stickers for my meal they were so good. For our main meal we went with the 40day dry aged Cowboy Ribeye for 130 dollars to share as we had heard this is an excellent piece of meat and we were splurging as it was our anniversary. The ribeye was stringy, tough and it didn't have the flavor you expect. I totally blame ourselves for not sending it back and complaining but we were already into the meal. I literally only ate one piece and I think my husband had 2 pieces and we took the rest home and have been feeding it to our dogs which is so sad and disappointing. I would go back to Harpers again as we love the restaurant but would not get the ribeye and stick with our usual the filet. read more
