Ribeye and loaded mashed potatoes
Rita D.

You know it has to be good if there is a 45 min wait on a Wednesday at 5:30pm. Our server was super nice and attentive. Our queso dip appetizer was Delicious!!!! My ribeye was cooked perfectly and my potatoes so creamy. My friend's medium well steak could have been cooked a tad longer, as it looked just like my medium rare steak. I love that it is in the mall because we did get to walk around while we waited. I would definitely recommend this place

Saltgrass Steak House is a casual steakhouse chain with a Texas-inspired menu. The Nashville location is inside the Opry Mills Mall and is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. While exploring the mall, I came across Saltgrass. I was in the mood for a drink and some appetizers before dinner, and this place caught my eye. The menu looked appealing, and the reviews were strong, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and the Range Rattlers. The shrimp cocktail was simple but fresh, served chilled with cocktail sauce and pico de gallo. The Rattlers were the standout, crispy, golden-fried jalapeños stuffed with shrimp and melted jack cheese. They packed one heck of a bite! The service was friendly and attentive. The bartender made sure I had everything I needed, adding to the overall enjoyable experience.

I'm a steak and potato girl so was happy to see there was a steakhouse near the resort I was staying at for a work conference that was only a short walk away! I had dinner at Saltgrass Steakhouse in Opry Mills Mall on a Monday night and it was just what I had hoped for! They brought a yummy loaf of bread and butter out that didn't last long because it was warm and fluffy inside and I couldn't help myself! I started with the house salad with ranch and have to say - the ranch was A-MAZING, super flavorful and creamy. For my main, I went with the 12 oz Pat's Ribeye cooked medium rare and some fresh horseradish paired with a baked potato (loaded up with butter and sour cream), and everything was spot on. The steak was cooked perfectly--juicy, tender, and flavorful with nice char and the baked potato was huge and satisfying. A big shoutout to Gary, my server, who was awesome! As a first-timer, he walked me through the menu and made a great recommendation - exactly what this steak-and-potatoes girl needed. The restaurant itself is massive, great for large groups, but it also has cozy tables that make it feel perfect for a date night. The location is ideal, just steps away from the Grand Ole Opry and the Gaylord Opryland Resort. Next time I'm in Nashville, I'll definitely be back for another ribeye, potato, and of course, that ranch!

The servers were friendly and swift. We both got the center cut filets and they were amazing. The bread was delicious too! We really enjoyed the ambiance and experience.

I got the seafood fondue and while it was good, the garlic bread was lacking. It was just Texas toast and barely seasoned or buttered. The fondue itself was creamy, but not cheesy. It's like it was missing the fondue. I think you could consider it a soup maybe because it was such a thin soup. I did like the big chunks of shrimp and crawfish, but it still was missing cheese. It wasn't bad for my birthday dinner, but it wasn't cheesy fondue like I wanted either. The service was good and the wait wasn't too long, but still, could have been better food for the price.

Country fried steak with gravy & smoked Mac and Cheese

This country fried steak was huge. Delicious, with an excellent crust of fried goodness. The sawmill gravy was very good and had tons of black pepper, as sawmill gravy should. The Mac and cheese was creamy and had great flavor. It came with soup or salad, so I had some really good potato soup and the bread they bring for the table. Service was quick and we had a very friendly server who took good. Are of us.

Bone in ribeye

Solid spot located in the Opry Mills mall. This place is decked out in southern aesthetic rooted in Texas ranching history and makes for a fun casual night out. For food, the highlight for me was the shrimp and the green beans which were both flavorful and perfectly cooked. The steak was decent (we got the bone in rib eye), though not the most memorable compared to other steakhouses. Service was friendly and the overall vibe felt true to that classic Southern steakhouse experience. One of your best bets food wise in the Opry mall

Wow... not in a good way. I didn't pick this place. I ended here. Kidnapping can be done in many other ways. Let me just say, not because they have "steak house" in their name means they are. Let's start with the wait. I have to say maybe they didn't have enough staff and well, 2020 did happen. The place is nice looking, like a Longhorn and fitting for a mall. The service was ok. The good... I know a filet mignon DOES NOT have hard cartilages but their steak does so be warned. The sauce with the cab meat on top was really good. I did enjoy that. I also enjoyed the frozen margarita. Kids food... why do you treat them like dogs? It was awful. My kids eat well and they box Mac and cheese grossed them out. I expected "steak house" quality. Make your own cheese sauce. Not hard... The pizza please. Make the dough not that hard either, cheaper too . My daughter only eat the cheese... Everyone else food was ok per them. They did have to re-do my father's meal. The steak was hard. Overall, I will stay at the bar for a margarita and ask for the crab sauce with chips. Come and experience it yourself.

Brisket Queso

Food was amazing. Get the brisket queso! I had the grilled chicken and sweet potato fries! Salads were so fresh! And I had to have the cheesecake which did not disappoint. Server was great! Will definitely go back!

Steak Wedge Salad
Melissa H.

Pickles and peppers appetizer was really good! I got the steak wedge salad and it was HUGE. I could only eat half of it and wished I could save the other half. Our server was nice, on top of the tea refills and made good conversation. My husband got a chicken sandwich and he was happy with it. A good experience and what we expected.

6oz filet with fried green beans & lump crab with sauce. Little skimpy on the sauce

With a 4.77 aggregate rating across all user-driven platforms and nearly 1,700 reviews to date, Krustaceans is much better on paper than it is in reality, a very overrated restaurant! As the highest-rated seafood joint on the entirety of Highway 70 across the America, it simply did not live up to the hype as I passed through Nashville. Perhaps I should have ordered crab or shrimp or some other boiled seafood which seems to be more of their specialty. But the fish and chips caught my attention. Beware, these aren't the fish and chips you'll find in the UK or the Northeastern United States. Instead of a crisp, beer-battered exterior, this is more like a catfish breading. And it's not bad, but it's just very different than the name would imply. The batter is probably too salty, but the fish is very fresh! The Cajun fries are horribly mediocre. They're definitely just frozen fries from a local supermarket with an uninspiring spice mix. The employees didn't seem very welcoming either, which was kind of sad since I was excited to be there. It's not a bad meal at all, but the ratings are way higher than they should be! If you're haphazardly shelling out five-star reviews, you've probably never had real seafood on the coast and have only inflated the truth for online viewers. Don't expect too much out of Krustaceans, hope for a decent meal, and you won't be disappointed.

We were greeted as soon as we arrived and led to our table. Our server showed up almost immediately for our drink orders which she returned with promptly. The menu has something for everyone and is challenging when you go in hungry as it all looks and sounds good. We had the calamari appetizer which was very good along with a tenderloin meatloaf special that had amazing flavor and texture. I'm not normally a meatloaf person, but this sounded interesting and met all expectations. We found room for dessert and it was outstanding as well. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an enjoyable and reasonably priced for the quality/ quantity meal. Overall, for the two of us our bill was $130 for 2 drinks each, an appetizer, a salad, a split meal and a dessert. Try it, I don't think you'll be disappointed!@

Today I had a server with green hair--she never introduced herself: she's the server with the green hair. This server decided to ignore our table and talk to another table at length about Ireland, Scotland, her fiancé, etc. I had to wait approximately 15 minutes for my drink, which was in part due to the fact that she neglected us. I sat there with my hand raised as if I was in elementary school: the man who cleared away dishes looked at me sympathetically and other servers glanced at her and shook their heads as if this was commonplace for her. When I finally had to audibly say, "Excuse me", she acted as if doing her job was an inconvenience: the eye roll was inappropriate and rude, seeing as how I had to wait for so long. This happened again when we needed sweet tea refills. We were going to order more food to go, but the service made us want to leave: terrible service affects the restaurant's bottom line. I certainly hope this will never happen again and that I can continue to spend money at Darfon's. If not, I don't mind traveling elsewhere.

I especially love it when simplicity and genuine passion is served, not just presentation. Anyway, to start off - this market, and it's a market, not quite a restaurant. When my friend and I stopped in, there was one table, four chairs. Since we were there late, we were able to sit and dine in. Sitting and eating there allowed us to chat with Kojo - the owner. Learning not just about the market but his history and his passion for what he does. Switching gears again - the market is in a huge shopping plaza. Lots of parking. And free. As for the food - see the pics. Dinner pics is mixed in with what was left in the market. I can't even begin to explain how much I enjoyed the flavors of the dishes he made on the spot for us. As we were there late in the day, most of the popular dishes were sold out however, he made a few suggestions, even two that were off the menu and made it to order. When we were there, it was a one man operation. So he was also our host and server. If you couldn't tell - service was excellent. Chatting about food. About seafood. About the beginning of Gulf Port. And about life in general. This is one of those places, that if I lived there - I'd frequent the place just because of him. It's just too bad that me going there requires a plane ticket and a five or so hour flight. But, also know this - next time I fly into Nashville, I'll make my way to Hermitage and have more delicious, fresh seafood.

**April 2025: Saturday Evening Visit**…read more My friend and I wanted to eat somewhere in the Hermitage area since that's where we were staying and Gulf Port Seafood had really high ratings, which were 100% well deserved. I should preface this by saying that Gulf Port is a seafood market first and that they have one table (4 chairs) so you can dine-in - but space is limited. Kojo, the restaurant owner, has both raw and hot options for patrons to enjoy. We came pretty late on a Saturday so many of his popular items (gumbo and lobster roll) were sold out, but we decide to try his other offerings which were delicious. We ordered the 2 orders of Cajun Crawfish Roll (methinks $15?), Seafood Mac & Cheese (methinks $20?) and Shrimp and Grits ($20? maybe) and all were made to order and brought to our table in a timely manner. The Cajun Crawfish Rolls came out first (I guess one order is given two rolls) and we demolished it. The toasted bun had a nice char, but was fluffy on the inside and the cajun sauce gave the crawfish nice flavor. We devoured this and were really impressed with the item. Next the Seafood Mac and Cheese came our as well as the shrimp and grits. The Mac and Cheese had such a great blend of cheeses and the noodles were cooked al dente. The grits on the shrimp and grits were scrumptious - not mushy at all and the shrimp was cooked through. Everything tasted very comforting and the prices are very reasonable! Overall, this was definitely a highlight meal of my Southern States travels and the next time I'm back in Nashville I hope to try the gumbo and lobster roll!
