Had an enjoyable evening at Caney Fork this evening. Red, our server was great. He provided excellent service and was very helpful and friendly. My wife and I ordered the Caney Sampler with gator bites, Caesar side salad and the Outfitters Stew. The sample letter was great. I really enjoyed the gator bites and onion rings. The Caesar salad was good as was the stew. The ambience of the restaurant was really cool. It was like a gigantic cabin. With a pond and waterfall, indoor fireplace, and all.

Excellent food, friendly service, and fun ambiance -- we really enjoyed our stop at Caney's today. We had the full rack of St Louis ribs and the Caney chicken. The ribs were so tender, they fell right off the bone. The chicken was tasty, well-seasoned, and smothered in cheese, mushrooms, and onions. For sides, we liked the green beans, corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes. The complimentary fritters were so yummy!! We also enjoyed some local beers - the wheat lemonade shandy was very refreshing. There is an ice cream place right next door, but we didn't have any room left. I hope to be back soon!

I've lived in the area for just over 10 years now, and have not dined at some of the old-school tourist favorites (including this one). I had some family visiting from out of town and offered this as an option to rectify that, and so we finally checked out Caney Fork. Huge interior, but early on a Saturday it was sparsely populated. Large space with ample parking, so a nice choice to have in Nashville overall. The menu is pure southern food from breakfast staples to ribs and BBQ to catfish. Some "meat and three" plus burger/sandwich options to boot. A lot of drink options including some really competitive pricing for beer and cocktails. Way cheaper you're apt to get at most tourist draws. I had a BBQ plate, my wife had the catfish. Both were solid/good. The beans (white) and okra were very tasty as well. All in all, a reasonably priced old-school diner with some local charm.

We were greeted and sat very quickly. The exterior/interior of the restaurant looks like a fishing cabin. My son had a steak that he said was seasoned very well. I had the fried shrimp with corn and potatoes. It was very good. It was not overly greasy. My oldest had the alligator sliders and fries. He is not an adventurous eater, but he really enjoyed his meal. My wife had the pulled pork platter. She seemed to enjoy it very much. Our youngest had a grilled cheese. Hard to mess that up . Our total bill was under $90 for four adults. Good value for the money.

Tired and hungry after flying into Nashville. Checked into Wyndham Club and wanted something close by. Caney came up in my search. They advertise frog legs but I passed on that option. I was deciding between the chopped steak or the elk sliders. Our server Dora was a sweetheart. She recommended the sliders. Sometimes wild game can be dry. Not the case for these sliders. They were yummy. Well seasoned. I'm not a fan of coleslaw but it along with the fried onions were great toppings for the slider. Live music catered to adults and kids. I love banjo music so really enjoyed it as part of the overall experience. Warning, if you're opposed to taxidermy decoration this is not the place for you. The horned ram kept staring at me and the weird animal on the overhang of the truck was a bit disturbing. Found out it was the face of a possum and body of a raccoon. It was a surprisingly fun evening. I recommend you drop in for the experience.

This is a very large restaurant with a lot of seating and taxidermy. The service was great and very friendly. The catfish bites were great and very fresh. The ribs were not as great as expected. I definitely would not classify them as the best ribs in Nashville as they claimed. They were overcooked and fell off the bone, looking more like pulled pork. They tasted like they were steamed. The beans & okra were ok nothing spectacular. They both tasted like they were frozen or canned products.

Came in for dinner on a Friday night and it was slow. Greeted by a cute little southern waitress who got us some sweet tea and menus We ordered Ribs and pulled sandwich- both were delicious and would order again. Bbq taste was just right! We were served some hot southern biscuits and they were so good!!! Again very reasonable and service was on it!!! Didn't try for dessert bc we were so full with food to take home. They have a bar to have drinks but we didn't go inside there. I would recommend this place for a bite to eat.

We love Caney's!!! What a wonderful experience. Live music, awesome decorations, and polite service. The food was great and so were our drinks. If you're in Nashville, make your way over to Caney's for a fun time!

So our server told us that today was his first day serving by himself. So I'm going to give him a pass. He was very friendly and seemed to truly care. The food was fine. We got the appetizer sampler and the bison strip loin. The bison was tender however, there was a lot of drizzle on the cut and it had almost no seasoning. The onion rings and pickles were decently flavorful when dipped in stuff otherwise they also had minimal flavor. The best thing we got were the chicken wings, but again no seasoning without dipping them in barbecue and or buffalo sauce. The ambience was cute. It looks like a bass pro shop shooting range and I mean that as a compliment and on the night that we went, there was a live bluegrass band although to be fair I have no frame of reference for Bluegrass to tell you if they were good or not, but it was certainly a different dinner experience

We had a fun time at this unique restaurant! The decor definitely makes you feel as if you're in the bayou. Unfortunately it was our first time here and we weee seated in the bar area instead of the main dining room. There was live bluegrass music in the main area and we had to get up from our table to go enjoy. They even asked if it was our first time and we said yes and they still sat us in the timeout corner. The food was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed the ribs, catfish, gator bites and steak. The campfire potatoes were good, as was the fried okra. The cornmeal coating on the catfish and gator was super flavorful and crunchy! Some of the best catfish I've ever had. The highlight of the mean was 100% the at table campfire s'mores! I highly recommend you try this! We had so much fun roasting marshmallows. The service was a bit slow as the bartender was our server (seated in the bar area) and we had to listen to the noisy blender making margaritas, this was definitely a downside. Make sure you ask to be seated in the main area. There is a waterfall and pond, big indoor fire pit and some very unique decor! Recommend for fun party vibes and amazing southern food!

We were in Nashville but wanted a restaurant that was away from the hubbub of downtown. So we were glad to find this restaurant. It's very large -- an there's even a little pond inside. Our server checked on us quite a few times after we ordered, and it took a while for our food to come. Once it did, however, she wasn't really around. The two of us who ordered the ribs were quite happy with our meals, but two more in our group weren't impressed.

We were staying in the area and wanted to try this place. The ribs are fall off the bone and tender. Good portion size too. There are a lot of food options, including gator and bison. I'm not adventurous enough to try them though. The fritters are so good!

    Cool display at restaurant!!

I presume it was clean, but cannot be certain 'cause it was too dark & dreary. (I usually avoid chains.) The host was all 'cheery' and such, but I would have none of it. When you ask, 'how are we?' My response will always be, either to turn around to look and RE-state that it's "dinner for one," or ignore him/them, or possible some other even more rude response (to such an ignor*** comment/question: I don't have a mouse in my pocket--do you, I am not an alien with a foreign entity living in my body, 'do I look pregnant?') Another server showed up and everything, service-wise, took a step forward. I am always clear and very particular on my food. I don't eat pork (clean food and religious reasons--both one and the same) and I don't eat Nightshades (food allergies). I clarified that the brisket was beef. I emphatically repeated that if it was NOT 'fatty' I did NOT want it. This wasn't casually declared . It was repeated, belabored and emphasized. I did NOT want it if it was NOT fatty. And we thoroughly examined the rest of the menu (side dishes) to ensure I could eat they (savory but NOT sweet and no pork). I settled on the Brussels sprouts and corn on the cob. The second server had promised to get my order out to me in five minutes. He pretty much executed--good on him. The brisket: over cooked and dry. I am disgusted that my highly specific request had been so blatantly ignored. The corn on the cob had been 'soaking' in something (water?) and it tasted like laundry water (no I've never drank dirty laundry water but we all know what it smells like and our taste buds respond to our olfactory senses. I haven't tried the Brussels sprouts I'm already so disgusted that I cannot handle more .

The bar has two hidden TVs that you can only see when you sit at the bar, which is such a cool touch. It keeps the space feeling upscale without sacrificing the ability to catch a game. The overall ambiance is great, and the music is always at the perfect volume for an easy conversation. The drinks have been consistently excellent. We've tried both cocktails and wine, and everything has been delicious. The wine is a little overpriced in our opinion, but it was so good that I'm glad we still ordered it! On our most recent visit, we started with the burrata. It was very good, but I do wish there had been more sauce and more cantaloupe. The sauce felt more like an accent than something that really tied the dish together. That said, the perfect bite was definitely the burrata with the prosciutto and cantaloupe! For our entrees, Jonathan ordered the pork chop, and I had the piri piri chicken. Both came with broccolini and patatas bravas. I was expecting traditional Spanish-style patatas bravas, so when whole baby potatoes showed up, I was initially a little disappointed. Don't let that fool you, though--these potatoes were incredible!!! Crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and packed with flavor! They ended up being one of my favorite parts of the meal! My piri piri chicken was fantastic! The portion was much larger than I expected, and the piri piri sauce served on the side was absolutely lick-the-plate good. I found myself dipping the potatoes and broccolini in it because it was just that delicious. Piri piri isn't something you come across often in Nashville, and The Finch absolutely nails it--and at a really reasonable price. Jonathan's pork chop was cooked perfectly with great flavor. It wasn't an over-the-top, show-stopping dish, but for around $30--including both sides--at a more upscale restaurant, it's hard to beat the value. One more recommendation: get the volcano rock shrimp. We had it on a previous visit, and we still talk about it! It's easily one of our favorite dishes we've had here. The Finch has been consistently good every time we've visited, and that's what keeps bringing us back! Great food, great drinks, a fun atmosphere, and solid value for the quality. We'll definitely be back again!
