It has been years since I last visited Answer and I have always questioned myself why I waited so long? I might never get the answer... First it's ideal to get a reservation since the inside doesn't hold a lot of table. We came in on a Tuesday for dinner. The noise level is loud if you are on a date you might want to sit outside. The service was A++ accommodating and attentive. We kicked things off with the chili-glazed tofu which I like my gf wasn't a fan of the flavor. The tofu wasn't crispy, but tender on the inside, layered with black rice, adobo, greens, candied peanuts, and fresco. If you think tofu is boring, this dish would rock your world! But the flavor isn't for everyone. Then we shared the following meals... The cavatelli with mushroom ragù, tuscan kale, pecorino, and crispy garlic deeply comforting, earthy the cavatelli was cooked to perfection no overcooked pasta here! For our entree we shared the braised short rib it was absolute fire! If it's on the menu get it! It was the perfect comfort food on a cold night. It's like a warm hug on a plate. Fork tender, rich, buttery, and sitting on silky Yukon gold mash with roasted carrots and pearl onions. It's absolute perfection! The dessert I want to rank 4.5 stars just because I wanted a bigger portion lol Dessert sealed the deal. The apple crumble with vanilla ice cream was perfect and cozy, while the chocolate panna cotta was light, airy, and dangerously easy to finish. My gf I almost didn't want to share I think on our next visit we would try their supper dinner on Wednesday or Sunday basically you pick up a comprehensive meal package to give you a break from cooking. Love the concept! Will definitely be back!

You can't beat the happy hour deals! $6 for drinks and select appetizers. I wish you could take advantage of the deals while sitting at the regular tables, but sitting at the bar is a vibe. The food is a great mix of contemporary American dining with some global twists. Parking can be tricky, but if you drive into the neighborhood you'll find something. A great place for date night or to catch up with a friend

This is one of my favorite places for happy hour. I've been coming here for years, but happy hour is more popular than ever. This is a smaller, but comfortable, restaurant, so if you want a seat at the bar for happy hour, most days you need to be standing at the door before they open. Otherwise, you may have to wait or miss out. They have a different cocktail every week. The dishes are all delicious, and I typically try the dessert special. Parking is limited in the front & the back of the restaurant, so you may need to find parking on the street in the neighborhood. Outside of the happy hour menu, the fried green tomatoes, crab cakes, and burger never fail. Love: hummus (tortillas always go well with it); asparagus (crispy)

A fantastic happy hour! The atmosphere of this place is chic yet cozy and is the perfect vibe for happy hour. My friend and I arrived around 5:15 p.m., and there was a wait for the bar (the only spot where they serve happy hour). The host put us down on the list, and it took only maybe 10 minutes to be sat. Once we were sat the bartender immediately checked in on us, and we both ordered the mango margaritas. This drink is sweet without being syrupy with a delicious mango flavor. We split the shishito peppers, potatoes, and their tomato and goat cheese. The peppers had a nice char and were paired with a miso sauce that made it my favorite appetizer. The tomato goat cheese dip and potatoes were both good, but there was nothing special about them. I'll definitely be back for the peppers and drinks!

11/10 stars. A really excellent restaurant in every way. While I haven't tried it for happy hour, I was told it gets very busy and has an excellent value. Our Xmas Eve dinner was fantastic! We were offered a lovely gift - a candle - on the way out.

Wow wow and WOW. The food was truly off the chart, and the service and atmosphere match perfectly. And to boot the drinks are creative and yummy

Tucked away off the beaten path in the Sylvan Park neighborhood sits this culinary gem! There's a parking lot behind the restaurant, along with plenty of free street parking. Everything we tried was absolutely scrumptious -- seasoned and flavored to perfection. For starters, we ordered mushrooms sautéed in lemon, pickled garlic, a creamy sauce, and leeks. Next came the panzanella salad -- not only tasty but also healthy -- full of kale, vibrant fruits and vegetables, and dressed with a house-made vinaigrette. The burger, topped with maple bacon, cheddar cheese, greens, and apple butter, was just as delicious as everything else. Service was attentive, and we sat on the patio, where each table had its own designated heater -- a cozy touch that made the evening even better. The wines were excellent and really brought everything together -- a well-rounded dining experience that definitely deserves five stars!

Great local neighborhood restaurant! Had a really great dinner here - but the desserts were the highlight of my night! This blondie with caramel ice cream was magical and I wish I could eat it every day!

My time experience at answer was a solid one. The interior is cozy but was not cramped when at maximum capacity on a Thursday night. What we got: COCKTAILS -[gin] the aroma of the lemon and lavender made for a unique experience and tastier drink. -[vodka] cute and tasty, but forgettable. -[mezcal] the favorite of the night, moderate smoke, not for the weak. SHARABLE -[arancini] tender meat and well cooked rice, but the flavor was overpowered by the frying oil. -[tomato] I love the combination of tomato with lobster, but this dish was prepared a little on the acidic side and the fried breading on the tomato was overpowered by the frying oil like the arancini -[scallops] my favorite dish by far, the cold squash purée paired well with the perfectly seared scallops. ENTREES -[halibut] my husbands favorite. The fish was cooked perfectly and although the dish was well balanced with the mustard and broth, I don't prefer such a heavy red pepper flavor, compared to my husband. It was a date night so we only ordered as many dishes as 2 people could possibly split. The portions are large, so I would come back again with a group to try a larger variety of menu items!

Absolutely delicious!!! The flavor and quality of the food was incredible. You can't go wrong with any dish but highly recommend the panzanella and fried green tomatoes as appetizers and then the trout and bucatini. I expected the portions to be small but they were not at all- the trout has 2 filets! Desserts were all made in house and sooo yummy!

I really enjoyed this place overall! They have a great happy hour that I'll definitely be back for! The food was tasty and filling. I will say I knocked one star off because I was just kinda confused about the cuisine - it was Italian, Asian, Mexican, etc which threw me off a bit haha but again overall tasty! Ambiance was nice! Very well decorated and lively, service was friendly and attentive. Will be back!

Amazing happy hour menu! Everything is $6 and super delicious. The interiors are modern and well-kept. Would recommend getting there early for happy hours (4:30-6 pm Tues-Sat) since there is limited seating around the bar! Parking behind the restaurant or street parking in nearby neighborhoods.

Met my youngest for dinner a few nights back at answer. and had a great experience. Would recommend. answer. is a nice little restaurant on 46th avenue in the Sylvan Park area. Super tiny parking lot, so likely will be street parking, but not too hard to find one within a close proximity. There is a small patio for outdoor dining and the main room is tables around a huge bar, which was crowded when we arrived (happy hour). Atmosphere? Very contemporary and a bit loud. Not the spot for a quiet date, especially when happy hour is on and the bar is jam packed. They have an open air kitchen along the back of the restaurant, so you can see the chef and cooks working their magic on the other side of the room. I like this touch. Service? Very good. Bethany, our server, had a lot of tables, but was very observant when we needed something. I was thankful when she boxed up the rest of the whipped cheese, as it made a wonderful second "meal". Drinks? I started with their bourbon cocktail, which is a bit sweeter than I would normally go with a cocktail, but nicely done. For the record, I would opt for cocktails at Hathorne or Common Ground before answer. but the happy hour specials might be worth it. I also grabbed a glass of Tempranillo, which is a wine I have not tried before. Dry and rather bold, but a nice complement to the steak. Food? We started out with albondigas (meatballs) and whipped cheese with peaches. Meatballs are beatifully done with a spicy sauce to complement them. But the whipped cheese with peaches is the star of the appetizer show. I would have gotten arincini, as well, as I loved it at Tutti da Gio, but did not want to take that much food home. For our meal, she got the trout and I got the steak. The trout was nicely done, although a bit overdone on the edges. Fortunately, not to the point the filets were super chewy. The Brussels on the plate were wondeful and it was nicely plated. Of the two sauces, the green sauce was more pleasing. The steak was beautifully cooked and topped with a wonderful chimichuri crema. The green beans were lightly cooked and had a bacon jam on them. The potato was cooked very nicely, although with my diabetes I did not eat much of it. Dessert was a strawberry rhubarb crisp with lemoncello gelato on top. I love the tartness of the rhubarb with the granola like crisp and sweet strawberries. I would definitely recommend if this is your type of dessert. Overall, I found the experience to be worthy of a return trip, but there are other places in the same basic price point I find a bit nicer (About $75-$80 per person with appetizer, dessert, and drinks). I was torn on 4 or 5 stars, as the trout was the only hiccup in the entire meal.

We started with the fried pickles and they were some of the best I've had. The dipping sauce wasn't your typical ranch (I forgot to ask what it was), but whatever magic they put in it worked it was absolutely delicious. Then we moved on to the burgers. We tried the Juicy Burger and it truly lives up to the name. Every single bite was worth it. I personally had the Jalapeño Burger and let me tell you... get ready for some heat. If you're not used to spicy food, this one might test your limits. But the flavor was incredible. You could really taste that the burger was grilled, and it gave it that perfect smoky, savory flavor that makes a great burger stand out. The drinks were also fantastic. They have a huge selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. I had one of their mezcal cocktails and it was bartender's kiss. I also tried a couple of their spirits and everything was on point. Another thing I really appreciated was the noise level. There's music playing, but it's not overwhelming, you can still actually have a conversation without yelling across the table. That's always a win. They also have a nice outdoor patio if you want to sit outside. We went during the week, so it was lively but comfortable. I can only imagine this place really gets going on the weekends. It was Taco Tuesday and they were doing Buy One Get One Free tacos + $6 margaritas and $4 drafts! You need a f@&%ing time machine to get a deal like that in Los Angeles and even then, it likely wouldn't be half as good as what we had here for the price. Stephanie was a rockstar, super funny and sweet and attentive. We got hella food: - Guacamole ($10) was limey and fresh and delicious - Elote Dip ($12) it was giving chilled esquites but if it were closer to a cowboy-caviar type salad. sooo good. - Chicken Wings ($22) the mesquite rub was a little salty if I'm honest, but the wings were super juicy. We got them grilled! - Caesar salad ($12) tasty, but a lot of dressing. Next time I'd get it on the side! Personal preference. - TACOS! The pastor pork belly was SO good, especially with the pineapple tidbits. The steak, shrimp, and chicken were excellent. My dad loved his cheeseburger taco the best and I thought the fish taco was pretty good (perhaps a touch dry but the slaw and sauce made up for it). Literally no complaints. Each one was better than the last. - Two rounds of sweet, tangy, Tajin-rimmed margaritas. Good god, these were delicious. The place itself is adorable. There's a whole outside yard with sports on, cornhole, and plenty of tables to hang out with friends, family, and I think even your dog (we saw a precious one!). I think they literally turned a house into a restaurant space, and they maintained some of the original elements for a really homey feel. They kept the fireplace, garage door, front porch--the whole place feels cozy and inviting. Lots of TVs for sports fans but it was pretty quiet inside (likely due to the holiday season) and the music was great, too. They were all decorated for Christmas, which I thought was an awesome touch. Big shouts to Ian and to Stephanie for a wonderful experience.
