This was such a cool and unique spot. A friend of mine recommended this place and I always trust his recommendations so I made sure to check it out while on my Nashville trip. All the tables were occupied on this Saturday night but luckily I was able to score 2 seats inside. With many drink option to chose from we decided to get the flight and let the bartender pick our pours. Each pour came with a chocolate to pair with. By getting 2 flights we had a total of 6 different absinthes. It was fun to try them all and enjoy some with the dripped sugar and some neat. We enjoyed it so much we also ordered a cocktail afterwards. I did read some reviews about the place getting packed and therefore service being slow, so make sure you go with plenty of time to enjoy the experience and ambience, since the place is small and seems to get packed especially on the weekends. I was not in a rush so had a great time, taking in all the absinthe green vibes and drinks.

This is one of my favorite cocktail bar in Nashville because of how hidden it is! If you know, you know. I love bringing people from out of town because it is such a unique experience. During Green Hour, it's very dark and quite but is a great place to catch up with old friends and taste unique cocktails and truffles. They use the Dutch-Style Absinthe Fountain which they explain if you're new to the technique. The fountains are authentic and a little antique so I highly recommend getting an Absinthe drink. Feel free to ask what characteristics the absinthe has, they can have different rates. You can even try a flight if you want to experiment. The tables inside are limited, but that just adds to the quaint ambiance. You can forget you're in Nashville TN when you're here. Feels like Sherlock Holmes study or something. There is something for everyone, even if you're not into Absinthe (it's like black licorice), since it's not for everyone. The servers are so informative and will help you decide what to get based on your preferences. Each drink has its own truffle pairing for a couple more dollars, that compliment each drink so perfectly. By day, Green Hour is a chocolatier called Tempered, so they know what they're doing. This is a must-see in Nashville!

Had the best time here. Absinthe beginner but really enjoyed the flights and trying the local options! Chocolate pairings are INCREDIBLE. Will dream about it. Super cool vibes and the 2 bartenders were the best. Highly highly recommend if you want to switch up your typical cocktail.

This is one of the coolest bars in the city. Chocolatier by day, absinthe lounge by night, The Green Hour is a speakeasy type with drinks that will put some pep in your step. The interior is intimate and gorgeous with a green hue (obviously), and the bartenders are family! All of the drinks are named after random family nicknames or events which I think is so unique! If you're looking for a hidden gem type of night out, check out this Germantown little stop. You won't regret it!

Stumbled upon this gem after dinner in Germantown and it was a great find! The concept is an absinthe bar meets chocolate bar. So you have options for absinthe flights paired with magical chocolate truffles. It was the first time I've ever had absinthe, but the staff is great and knowledgeable and will help guide you through the process. Absinthe is similar to sambuca, a liquor with a black licorice taste. In this case they all have a different layer of depth depending on where they are from and how much sugar and water you add. If If i haven't convinced you to try absinthe, they do have a few naughty and nice cocktails...no vodka though. Also, the chocolates need no review, they are amazing! Go for the pairing, you won't be disappointed! Would be ideal for small groups (4) or a cute date night cap for date night. The space isn't big but does have some outdoor seating as well. Overall, very cool experience and great vibe! Even if you're not in the area, it's definitely worth it to make it a destination during your time in Nashville!

We didn't plan to visit here but needed to kill time before dinner. It is a chocolate shop by day, absinthe bar by night. It looked like one of those places where you would be met with total pretentiousness - but that couldn't be further from the truth. I'd never tried absinthe and the sever was so kind and walked us through the experience. She didn't hover - showed us and then let us experiment. It was SO fun. They paired it with chocolates that were incredible (I seriously had to pause for several minutes after biting into one). The bartender even came over afterwards and chatted with us about the history of absinthe. If you're looking for a fun adventure - definitely try this place!

The dimly lit atmosphere sets the mood instantly. We were there on vacation and so glad someone told us to go. It's a chocolate specialty shop during the day and a bar with speakeasy vibe at night. We both ordered the Absinthe flight paired with chocolates. There were so many choices we let the bartender choose for us. If I was a local to the area, this would be my spot. It's good for a date, to hang with friends or just sit there and read a book. Do not miss this opportunity of checking out this places, especially if you are an Absinthe Lover.

Interesting experience, cool atmosphere. Service was very good and staff was very knowledgeable on all things absinthe. Would go back for the chocolates!

I really enjoyed this place. The drinks were amazing, and I loved that each drink had a truffle that went perfectly with it. Give it a try if you love cocktails and chocolate!

Pretty dark lighting inside and very cold. The service was a little slow, we waited about 20-30 minutes for our server to come and another 10-15 minutes for the drinks to come. It was a really cool experience for first time absinthe drinkers. The server was really knowledgeable and helpful when it came to explaining how everything works. The truffles were really good, they had a nice balance between bitter and sweet. The strawberry lemonade was my favorite. If you like a more bitter chocolate, the matcha one is a good choice.

Debi S.

It's easy to miss this place in town but I'm so glad a friend talked me into checking it out one evening. It turns from a chocolate shop into a bar at night - what a cool concept! And it's even better that you can pair truffle chocolates with the different cocktail options on the menu. If you're a true absinthe lover then this is the place to go in town. It's also perfect for the chocolate lovers. If not, rest assured that there are plenty of other options. A fun way to end your evening! There is street parking as well as a paid lot across from this spot. The music gets louder as the evening progresses.

First off, I'm not a fan of absinthe, but I would HIGHLY recommend going for the knowledge and experience. The staff is SUPER knowledgeable about absinthe and can give you recommendations if you are new to trying it out. This is located inside Tempered Fine Chocolates and all the absinthes are paired with a chocolate truffle for the flights of absinthe. I would recommend getting there early because this place is small and can get packed quickly. My wife and I have visited twice: one time on a date and another with an out-of-town friend. I would recommend this to anyone for the experience of trying absinthe.

Mary Kate E.

Pleasantly surprised by our experience. I think the positives of this experience is that Green Hour is both an absinthe bar + chocolate place, Tempered Fine Chocolate. I definitely feel this was one of those 'I have to experience this once' type of ordeals. I am not saying I wouldn't return because that is totally not the case. But, if you're looking for an 'experience when in Nashville', this is something I would recommend to people because it does offer something different and unique. Plus, I don't foresee people running to an absinthe bar when they think of the Nashville experience stereotypes. What I can say is I am not one who is crazy in love with absinthe. I think the concept is cool. What I appreciated is that the server came to our table, and gave us the lowdown on the history of absinthe and why they operate in the way that they do. They run you through what they think you would enjoy, and what chocolate they think might go well with what you order. The chocolate is not a requirement, but it is a damn bad decision if you forego not having their sweet offerings. If you come here, plan to arrive early when they first open. Why? It can easily get swarmed with people and that can be a bit claustrophobic when inside the small establishment. Admittingly, the pandemic has crippled me from wanting to be in small establishments near hoards of people. Green Hour utilizes every last inch of this space and they have it set up very well. Unfortunately, during our time here, there was a very large party who walked in and dominated several of the tables and the amount of sound they made caused us difficulty from hearing one another despite sitting next to each other. It's a trendy place that has been around since 2015. If they can make it through a pandemic, a tornado, and staffing shortages; well - they must be doing pretty good for themselves. I am looking forward to returning. It might just have to be on a different night of the week than what we did the first time.

It's a fairly big place with a bar, couches, fireplace with a HUGE beautiful fire, cocktail tables, and cozy booths. Dark, candlelight, this place has a vibe! 5 stars for atmosphere for sure! The service was not great, unfortunately. It was just so slow, every step took FOREVER. We would have gotten dessert but the waitress never came back. I finally stood up, put my jacket on, and stood next to our table, as a hint that we were ready for the check. 3/5 stars for service. Now the food. Do you see those fries?? They are some of the most unique fries I've ever had. Crispy AND chewy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Served with bernaise, these alone are worth coming back for! The burger fell flat IMO. My husband liked it better than I did, but it didn't have much flavor. Some might say it needed ketchup, but for me it was more than that. It was a case where it seemed to have all the right ingredients but didn't "pop". It comes out wrapped in paper which is a fun touch, but didn't seem that hot and also was a little soggy, which made me wonder how long it sat before they brought it. We wanted ketchup for the fries too, BTW, but the server never came back to check on us. My husband's NY sour was a little strange. We love different "takes" on classic cocktails, but this one just didn't work. The waitress seemed unsure as to whether they could make this drink, and maybe she was correct. 3.5 stars for cocktails/food. We will definitely come back. My hope is that the burger was just a one-time miss and that next time it will be perfect. We also want to try the smoked fish dip. Such a cool neighborhood spot!

When I walked in I, immediately, thought of Haven (RIP https://www.yelp.com/biz/haven-miami-beach-2). From the LED wall to the music to the drinks to the vibe... I didn't feel like I was in Nashville anymore. the back corner stands out and gives Middle Tennesseans something that's not readily available in this area. If you're in the mood for a little coastal cosmopolitanness (is that word? It's not a word), the back corner is about to be your new favorite place. The neighborhood gets things moving in the right direction. For as much as Germantown has (scenic streets, fancy high rises, coffee, good eats) it didn't have a nightlife destination. Putting one here makes a lot of sense. Building off the 5th & Taylor imprint, the back corner starts off fancy (but not pretentious) and builds to memorable. Upon entry, the first thing you notice is the LED wall and stage. With a changing display of electronic intoxication, you're drawn into a world far away from Lower Broad. If you can break your gaze away from the stage, you'll notice the upper and lower lounge seating. Intimate, cozy and a bit mysterious, the seating at the back corner lets you decide whether you want to be front & center or if you're rather sit back and take it all in. You can be as public or private as you'd like. If indoor seating isn't your thing, make your way outside to enjoy the fire pit and Germantown night sky. Just do us all a favor and refrain from smoking. Seeing cigarette butts along the patio or by (in??) the fire pit is not sexy and very off-brand. All the above said and noted, the back corner is not a huge space -- which is a plus and minus. It's a plus because it never becomes the cavernous mess of bass and desperation. The minus is crowds gonna crowd and with a lot of people, the space will be tight. I don't know how to fix that. I suppose a velvet rope and waitlist will keep crowds at bay but neither feels very Nashville. Hmm... Another minus (relating to the size) is that there's only one bar. One bar in a space this cool is a bit tight. I know the space behind the bar isn't huge but I would staff it with 3 bartenders at a time so as to keep up with the crowd. Because you're going to want to drink. A lot. The cocktail program at the back corner is a bit unusual for Nashville -- and very Miami. Expect rum, colors and a boozy punch. Actually, the menu could use a punch. Get on that, tbc. Re drink progression... start with the gimlet. It's pretty to look at and refreshing to drink. All the mixers, juices, etc. are made in house so you're getting quality fare. From there, hit the No. 4 and, then, the No. 2. If you're still upright, drink some water. Water? Who am I kidding? Cocktails! You're in Miami, [redacted]! Well, sorta. If you need some noshes, 5th & Taylor is serving up bites. Don't come here for dinner. Who eats food? Let the music and booze nourish your body. As perfect as the back corner is for DJ sets, live music (this *is* Nashville, after all) works as well. the back corner isn't the Downtown dance club people have wanted for a (looooong) while. But it is a welcome addition to the city's nightlife scene and, very possibly, you're new favorite place to go. Bienvenidos a Nashville.

My second favorite dish was the lightly roasted snap pea with fennel, spring onion, and chili--fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor. So good. The steak just kind of tasted like an average cut of beef. The au jus was good, though, along with the mashed potatoes. Chocolate cherry cake : 4/10 - They offered this to us for free for our anniversary, but I didn't love it. The chocolate flavor was super mild, and the cherry was kind of sickeningly artificial.
