We live in Nashville, so I have the opportunity to enjoy many exciting restaurants. With some friends in town, they pick stateside kitchen, one that we had not heard of or been to. We were excited about the possibilities. When we first arrived, we were very impressed with the overall atmosphere and layout of the restaurant. It was a quiet, Thursday evening, and the place seemed to be adequately staffed. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and the first round of drinks were right on target - albeit a bit slow to come out. After a round of appetizers that were very good, we ordered our entrees- and that's when things took a terrible turn for the worst! The main courses took forever to finally come out, and when they did, they came out in staggered delivery. First three came out (we were a party of 8), then a bit later two more. And then.....nothing. So we waited....and waited.. by now the dishes that had come out were cold. I got up and flagged down our waiter and asked that she look into what the hold up was. Then, you guessed it, waited some more. Then another dish finally arrived THEN, the last dish was delivered. Time from first dish to last was a solid 15 minutes if not longer. No explanation. No acknowledgement (at that time). A couple missing items were pointed out (no steak knife for the Steak Frites, no sauce for another dish). Finally a "manager" did a fly by with a smiley apology about the food being late and said not to worry - free dessert lol!! Here's the problem: things happen. People make mistakes, ordered get lost, staff gets behind - whatever!? JUST OWN IT!! An appropriate ownership would have been "look, this has taken way too long and this is our fault. We realize your food is now cold and you've been patiently waiting a long time. We are sorry. We are going to comp your _______ (something we'd ordered? 30% off the top? Something more than - "free food you would t have ordered anyway". And...the coup de gras - they had the audacity to tacked on a 22% tip ! Not sure if they will read this or not - but if I was the owner, somebody would be having a talkin-to! read more

Perfect place to grab dinner before slipping out the back door to Printer's Alley or heading to the lobby speakeasy. The vibes are good, nothing too try hard. The food is great, the offer valet parking (which is still complimentary if I'm not mistaken), and the drink options are really good. Upon arrival I parked in the parking garage because I didn't know they offered valet service. My guest and I were greeted and seated quickly. I ordered the customers favorite mocktail, the Golden Hour mocktail which consisted of coconut water, pineapple, guava, lime, turmeric, jalapeño. It was refreshing but the turmeric was a lot at first but stir it up a little bit and let the ice dilute it. For my entree, I ordered the Prime rib dip sandwich !! 10/10 I ate both sandwiches and left no crumbs when it came to the fries. The bread was fresh and airy, the rib was tender, juicy and the caramelized onion added the extra flavor it needed. Now the dipping broth was the star of the show. The broth was packed with flavor ! I could eat that by itself as soup if I can be honest. The customer service was excellent our waitress was extremely patience with us when ordering, she was even knowledgeable about the menu and told us what was best to order. Went here for a friend's birthday on a Friday night and we were one of like 5 total groups in the restaurant. Unfortunately, we were still there for over 2 hours because it took so long to get drinks, food, checks, and then getting our cards back surprisingly took the longest. With a group of 7, there is an auto 22% gratuity added so maybe they didn't care about giving us great service since they were already guaranteed a tip. No complaints about any of the food or drinks - everything tasted great and came out exactly as we ordered it. The only complaint is about the prices - I totally understand it is downtown and you are likely paying a premium anywhere you go, but the portions were so small. I ordered Pigs in a Blanket and the $16 order only came with 6. We did get a free slice of cake for the birthday girl which was a pleasant surprise. I have been to Stateside once before and loved it because of the ambiance and aesthetics, but this visit in August of 2026 was awful . The food was just ok / not impressive but they brought out butter and jelly and it was rancid. It was so bad it took us a while to get the taste out of our mouth and off our mind . We let the server know and he said they pulled the butter and threw it out. I've never had an experience like that at a nice restaurant. Upon check in for our reservation, the hostess stated that our reservation was earlier and was canceled. After showing email of actual reservation time, we were seated. Due to the "missed" reservation, my card was automatically charged a no show fee which had to get sorted out. I believe a phone call to confirm if you're still making your reservation would be warranted before just assuming one is no-showing. Beware, there is a group drink on the menu that states it comes in a disco ball. However, ours came in a cowboy hat which was a let down. We had a wonderful dinner at Stateside Kitchen. From the moment we were seated, our every need was attended to. Jess, our server, recommended the crab dip and he didn't steer us wrong. A large bowl of melty cheese full of chunks of succulent crabmeat was served with warm bread. When we order an dip, we're usually frustrated because we never seem to get enough of the "dipper" - the crudités, crackers or, in this case, bread. Stateside does their dip right by including two thinly sliced crunchy baguettes. This is a large app that could easily be shared by a table of four. For my entree, I ordered the Jumbo Prawn Pasta. The large bowl of pasta with an almost creamy pesto was served with four large shrimp and a sliced ball of creamy burrata cheese. It was delicious and way too much for me to finish. My husband ordered the pan seared salmon. Served with a surprisingly good parsnip purée and fingerling potatoes, the salmon had a good sear and was moist and flaky. We were stuffed though the dessert menu was very enticing with eggnog crème brûlée and hot toffee pudding among the offerings. There is a cocktail list with a variety of unique libations such as a blackberry margarita (highly recommended) and several fall inspired concoctions. There were a couple of drinks that sounded like they'd make an incredible dessert. Our service was spot on. Even though the restaurant was mostly empty, it was rather loud and I'm sure a crowd would have made it a little more difficult to talk. Considering quality and size of the meals, prices were reasonable. We chose Stateside Kitchen only because it was in our hotel. I would choose it again because everything was terrific. read more
