We live in Nashville, so I have the opportunity to enjoy many exciting restaurants. With some friends in town, they pick stateside kitchen, one that we had not heard of or been to. We were excited about the possibilities. When we first arrived, we were very impressed with the overall atmosphere and layout of the restaurant. It was a quiet, Thursday evening, and the place seemed to be adequately staffed. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and the first round of drinks were right on target - albeit a bit slow to come out. After a round of appetizers that were very good, we ordered our entrees- and that's when things took a terrible turn for the worst! The main courses took forever to finally come out, and when they did, they came out in staggered delivery. First three came out (we were a party of 8), then a bit later two more. And then.....nothing. So we waited....and waited.. by now the dishes that had come out were cold. I got up and flagged down our waiter and asked that she look into what the hold up was. Then, you guessed it, waited some more. Then another dish finally arrived THEN, the last dish was delivered. Time from first dish to last was a solid 15 minutes if not longer. No explanation. No acknowledgement (at that time). A couple missing items were pointed out (no steak knife for the Steak Frites, no sauce for another dish). Finally a "manager" did a fly by with a smiley apology about the food being late and said not to worry - free dessert lol!! Here's the problem: things happen. People make mistakes, ordered get lost, staff gets behind - whatever!? JUST OWN IT!! An appropriate ownership would have been "look, this has taken way too long and this is our fault. We realize your food is now cold and you've been patiently waiting a long time. We are sorry. We are going to comp your _______ (something we'd ordered? 30% off the top? Something more than - "free food you would t have ordered anyway". And...the coup de gras - they had the audacity to tacked on a 22% tip ! Not sure if they will read this or not - but if I was the owner, somebody would be having a talkin-to! read more

Brunch here was okay. The ambiance was great. Was easy to meet people and talk to other patrons. I liked the sunlight that shown in as well. Added to the ambiance. The food was a little mid though. And I got the "bottomless" which was 8 drinks or two hours. Whichever one came first. I fully intended to have all 8 however my server was barely around. It was difficult getting a refill. I think I only had three. Feel like I wasted my money. I'd go again but make sure you keep an eye on your server to make sure you get your refills. read more

Perfect place to grab dinner before slipping out the back door to Printer's Alley or heading to the lobby speakeasy. The vibes are good, nothing too try hard. The fries were honestly the star, so good. The hot chicken sandwich was fine, but I'm still not totally convinced what makes any of them stand out in Nashville. This place is a vibe!! You can't go wrong with brunch, happy hour, or dinner. I have been for all 3! The food is great, the offer valet parking (which is still complimentary if I'm not mistaken), and the drink options are really good. For brunch they typically have a DJ as well, so perfect for bachelorette groups or just groups in general. I love their shrimp and grits, buffalo chicken sandwich, and their crab dip. Their brownie dessert is also delicious. I don't think I have ever had a poor experience here. The staff is great, the establishment is clean, and the food is delicious. Stateside will always be one of my go to places downtown! read more

I had the best dinning experience at Stateside Kitchen located downtown Nashville,Tn inside of the Dream hotel. This aesthetically pleasing restaurant brought all the vibes from the interior, the food, the music and great customer service. I had a party of 6 with them and I made the reservation online. Upon arrival I parked in the parking garage because I didn't know they offered valet service. My guest and I were greeted and seated quickly. I ordered the customers favorite mocktail, the Golden Hour mocktail which consisted of coconut water, pineapple, guava, lime, turmeric, jalapeño. It was refreshing but the turmeric was a lot at first but stir it up a little bit and let the ice dilute it. For my entree, I ordered the Prime rib dip sandwich !! 10/10 I ate both sandwiches and left no crumbs when it came to the fries. The bread was fresh and airy, the rib was tender, juicy and the caramelized onion added the extra flavor it needed. Now the dipping broth was the star of the show. The broth was packed with flavor ! I could eat that by itself as soup if I can be honest. The customer service was excellent our waitress was extremely patience with us when ordering, she was even knowledgeable about the menu and told us what was best to order. She checked on us the entire night while balancing a heavy crowd. I will definitely be back to try the crab dip!!! read more

Went here for a friend's birthday on a Friday night and we were one of like 5 total groups in the restaurant. Unfortunately, we were still there for over 2 hours because it took so long to get drinks, food, checks, and then getting our cards back surprisingly took the longest. With a group of 7, there is an auto 22% gratuity added so maybe they didn't care about giving us great service since they were already guaranteed a tip. No complaints about any of the food or drinks - everything tasted great and came out exactly as we ordered it. The only complaint is about the prices - I totally understand it is downtown and you are likely paying a premium anywhere you go, but the portions were so small. I ordered Pigs in a Blanket and the $16 order only came with 6. We did get a free slice of cake for the birthday girl which was a pleasant surprise. Overall not a bad place, but there are plenty in the area that I would choose over Stateside. read more

I ordered the chopped salad. It was yummy. I stole a few fries from my friend's plate also yummy! One thing to note as beautiful as this location is, the pitch of the ceiling makes it super loud. It wasn't even that full and there was one party having an EXCELLENT time lol We also were seated next to someone who had been over served she was yelling to the staff and trying to talk to anyone who walked by. Enjoyed a wonderful evening meal at Stateside Kitchen on a Saturday evening. Our table for a 6:30 reservation for 11 was ready when we arrived and we were immediately seated. Service was friendly and attentive, although bar service was extremely slow. Ambiance: 8/10 - I only take a few points away because of the weird encounter with the host, misquoted time estimates, and us having to take initiative to get a table. Outside of that interaction, the DJ and the Drag Show were spectacular. Definitely woke me up! Incredibly underwhelming. Atmosphere was great, good temperatures but otherwise I can't say it was enough to overcome the rest of the experience. Arrival was fine but the evening was mostly about flagging someone down. To ask for more water, to ask for a steak knife, to order a cocktail. I could understand if they were busy, but a lot of staff was just hanging around. The appetizers were fine, the drinks that did come were good, but the meals just didn't come. Finally two sandwiches and some dip came out. Fifteen minutes later the chicken dinner came out. Still no pasta and no Caesar salad with salmon took 10. The salmon was raw in the middle as we weren't looking for sushi, we sent that back but it still hadn't arrived by the time we finished the meal. By the time everyone had something in front of them the first dishes were cold. This was not a busy night and perhaps that why so many tables were empty. After asking to speak to a manager we were comped some deserts that we weren't planning to order. As the gratuity was already included, no one left feeling good about the experience. As two of us are from Nashville, we see this happen with restaurants that try to cater predominantly to tourist. They will take the tip, provide poor service because they never expect to see you back again, and they won't see us back again. read more

I was super excited to come because I saw nothing but great reviews online, but I guess we were just the small percentage that didn't get the same service. Our waiter saw us maybe 2 times in one hour. He seemed less than interested in helping me and my grandmother out. He rushed us. At one point he asked if we were ready to order and I just turned to my grandmother to confirm that she was ready and he just walked off. Then didn't come back for 30 minutes. It was just weird and upsetting. It was so loud in there we couldn't really have a nice conversation, but you'll have that sometimes. The line dancing right next to my table threw me off a bit too, but hey it's nashville! Overall, I won't be back because of the service. It was very expensive to not have even just decent service. Found this restaurant right next to our stay at Noelle and decided to give it a try. Glad we did. The ambiance is cool with an atrium roof and trendy clean decor. Service was great; attentive and friendly with our server Hayden giving us great recommendations for after dinner. Upon check in for our reservation, the hostess stated that our reservation was earlier and was canceled. After showing email of actual reservation time, we were seated. Due to the "missed" reservation, my card was automatically charged a no show fee which had to get sorted out. I believe a phone call to confirm if you're still making your reservation would be warranted before just assuming one is no-showing. Beware, there is a group drink on the menu that states it comes in a disco ball. However, ours came in a cowboy hat which was a let down. It would have been nice to know that was a possibility before ordering the specialty drink. Overall, not a terrible place... wouldn't necessarily be back though. read more
