    Tour de France wine flights
    Stefanie C.

ound this place on TikTok and as a wine lover, I couldn't resist. My husband made a reservation to stop in for a drink before our wedding anniversary dinner, and wow... what a fantastic find. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Authentique truly feels like a little piece of France tucked into East Nashville. The décor, the vibe, hearing so many different languages around us, it honestly felt like being back in Europe[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. They have one of the most impressive wine lists I've seen in the city, and if you're indecisive like me, the wine flights are the way to go. We did the Tour de France flight, my husband went with the whites, I did the reds, and everything was incredible. The Beaujolais, Pinot Noir, Chards (yes, because we of course shared haha)... just wow. We paired it all with steak tartare (yes, they have French bites too!), plus they offer charcuterie boards, crepes, and more. Definitely coming back for those. Bonus: every Tuesday they host wine tastings at the bar led by their sommelier, each week with a different theme, mostly French and other European wines. tickets can be purchased in their website Huge thank you to Alexander for walking us through the whole concept. We finished the night with a beautiful Blanc de Blanc to toast our anniversary. What a gem in Nashville, can't wait to be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a beautiful spot! This wine bar and creperie feels like a dream plucked from Paris and dropped into Nashville.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owners are so nice and knowledgeable about French wines. They do weekly wine tastings on Tuesday's that are fun, welcoming and informative! I also recommend you stay after the tasting and order their crepes and other cocktail options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is perfect for an after dinner drink or even a lowkey date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have to come back and get their crème brûlée!

Did a Bordeaux themed tasting here and it was excellent!! Brock was knowledgeable and the wines were perfect!! Can't wait to do another. Cheers!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Omg this place is so cute and the guys behind the bar are so fun, interesting, and knowledgeable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would recommend for wine lovers and for cheese lovers. All the food we had was fantastic and paired well with the recommended wine. Brock will not lead you astray and he's honest about pricing too which is nice because so many people are just worried about selling you the most expensive pours. 10/10!

Meat/cheese charcuterie board, bread basket to right!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute and cozy spot![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everyone who worked there was super nice, constantly checking in on us. The meat/cheese charcuterie board was divine! The bread that it came with was so so good! The steak tartare was amazing. Had to end with with the Nutella crepe with bananas. Needless to say we had no leftovers!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Enjoy a Parisian Bistro with friendly, French speaking staff, with a diverse, European wine bar, in a small, clean Paris style bistro.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Dining also has European emphasis on charcuterie and small plates. The Cheese and Charcuterie is well curated, with excellent cheeses and meats, but could use more fruit and nuts other than peanuts. Confiture de Fraise with extra strawberries is excellent.

Attended a French wine tasting and had the best time. Brock was so knowledgeable on the histories of the wines and the owners were beyond friendly. Charcuterie board was demolished too!

My friend and I enjoyed our first trip (definitely not the last) to The Authentique last night and it was truly lovely! We got to meet the proprietor Alex, who is multi lingual and so charming! He also happened to be the one who made our crêpes, croque monsieur, and crème brule.... Which were all exceptional! My friend had a delicious white wine and I had a flight of the bold reds. The wines were wonderfully curated and the food was fresh and delicious. I cannot recommend this establishment more highly!

Went to The Authentique for their "Tour de France" wine tasting. Alexandre was an absolute delight, extremely knowledgeable and such a joy to learn from. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The wine bar is cozy and intimate and I made some great connections![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place is truly a Nashville gem! The restaurant immediately makes you feel like you've left East Nashville and entered into a beautiful 1920s French themed wine cellar. The interior design alone is captivating and if you visit during their live Jazz hour, it adds even more to the experience. The owner is extremely knowledgeable of all of his wines and makes you feel very welcomed the moment you walk through the doors. The food is also amazing and they all pair so well with the unique wine selection. This place has easily become of of my favorite East Nashville Gems

Recently moved to the East side of the city and have been in search of a chill wine bar, and then boom, we spotted The Authentique (Thanks Yelp!) The Authentique is a French inspired wine bar that sits in a non-descript strip mall on Gallatin Avenue not far from Tailgate Brewery, Kroger and Publix. While the exterior is pretty unassuming and to be honest, "meh", the moment you walk in the door you pick up the vibe of quaint wine bar. From the ornate ceiling tiles, to the dark walls with artwork in oversized frames to the decorative lighting, this place certainly knows who they are. While everything above sounds grandiose, this spot is quite small...they just have a lot packed into this small space! This is the perfect spot for a small meet up, date night or even a pre/post dinner night cap...but anything beyond a group of 4 is going to be tough here. The bar seats around 10, then there are 3 hightops and 4 to 5 standard tables ranging in 2 to 4 tops. For the best enjoyment for you and everyone else, I would say this is not the spot for a large group or party. Now down to the goods! We had a few glasses of wine that were recommended to us by the owner, and we paired it with the charcuterie board. The wine was excellent, a great recommendation and great sip. The charcuterie board was standard, nothing exciting, but definitely nothing terrible. It paired well with our wine. Both came at a premium cost, which was not surprising, but slightly surprising. Two glasses of wine and a charcuterie board ran us around $60. Overall, The Authentique is a great find and a place that we will certainly swing back through when the vibe beckons! Outside of the cost above, my only other issue is that on the night we went, it was blazing hot inside. Not sure if that is a temperature regulation thing for the wine, but it was pretty unpleasant, which is why we only stayed for one glass.

    Gorgeous bar and interior

The curse of Rumours continues!…read more I don't know that any business can survive this address. My first BW review of the year and it seems to have come as a surprise. Whispers abound as to whether the issue at VG was a rent hike or whether the owner just lost interest. In any event, it's the same sad story at the corner of 12th and Woodland. And that's too bad because VG acquitted itself nicely. On a Friday in mid-spring it was the exact right place I wanted to be to catch up with a friend. That backyard has been the stuff of legends for every iteration for a reason. If you've been here for a while, you know the score: walk in the front, smile, be greeted, ask for a table outside. That's just what we did. But before that we got drinks. Being a wine bar and being happy hour and being a Friday we went all in on the house red sangria. Served in a pleasantly large goblet, this goodie jar of wine and fruit did the job of quenching thirst and spurring conversation. To add to the libations, we settled on a series of bites: whipped feta (with sourdough -- and every bit of decadent as described in other reviews), olive tapenade (a briny, mound of oil, citrus and herbs) and (skinny) fries with parmesan & white truffle oil. Right?? What a perfect way to end the work week and begin the weekend. We had wonderful service from Abby and stayed on premises well into sundown. There was a steady crowd throughout our visit so I don't think a lack of business was the COD. Whatever the reason, it sort of boggles the mind that a wine bar concept can't stick around in a neighborhood and location that seems to crave it. That curse might be real.

I thought both were ok, nothing super memorable, but tasty nonetheless. Maybe it was just my taste, but the sprouts were a little too charred for me. Located at the back of the building you can enter through going around back or walking through the building. Its a small place, but they have tables and bar seating. The wine menu is glorious. So much to choose from. I like how you order at the bar because it gives you a chance to see what everyone else is drinking as they keep the open bottles up front. I asked the staff what I should order based on wanting a chilled red. They gave me tow options. I chose a Nebbiolo and loved it! We ordered two "bread with stuff". We got the pumpkin and the french onion. Both were amazing! We went at 2 pm so it was the perfect snack. They did have a fairly diverse menu. Music was upbeat and chill and at the perfect volume to have an enjoyable conversation. They also sell loaves of bread to go, which of course we got.

One stall had a broken lock, while another was completely out of toilet paper. We attended a comedy show and waited approximately 15 minutes before being acknowledged by the bar staff. I was then informed that if I wanted food, I would need to return to the other side of the venue to place that order. As a paying customer, I found this interaction unnecessarily dismissive and unhelpful. My destination within the establishment should not determine whether a staff member is willing to serve me. The service throughout the evening was disappointing. The bartenders appeared overwhelmed, unfriendly, and unwilling to provide basic customer service. The whipped goat cheese was the clear standout--it came with blueberry compote and hot honey so you could go sweet or slightly spicy. The blueberry compote with the goat cheese was honestly to die for. The bruschetta was also really tasty with great flavor, and I appreciated the thinner crostini slices. The meatballs came with three generously sized meatballs and were good, but not quite as standout as the other two dishes. Once seated, Katie came to the table with a bubbly and positive attitude (she was fantastic). She took our order quickly and stayed on top of the beverages. Starters Caesar salad with spicy breadcrumbs was the best and most fresh tasting Caesar my husband and I have ever tasted... not too much dressing but very flavorful Truffle potatoes with truffle cream sauce and parsley powder came with a punch of savory flavor and a nice crunch wonderfully delicious. Only disappointment was there was not more! Mussels White Wine with freshly toasted local sourdough bread. The mussels were cooked perfectly and made with a perfect blend of citrus and garlic broth. Dinners Roasted Chicken Pesto Risotto was one of the most flavorful items of the night. Risotto cooked perfectly and the combination of ingredients matched perfectly. We will be back and will continue to support this local business that supports other local businesses!!!! Go see Katie and the team!!!

Didn't feel like I was right in the heart of bustling East Nashville - felt like a little retreat. The service was great and so patient with us as we were quite indecisive. Especially since it was a new menu and there were no pics online (then I totally forgot to take pics to help future yelpers not fall to my fate, alas!). I landed on the French Toast Bread Pudding. It was quite heavenly, but I do wish it was a bit bigger for the price... My friends both got the Avocado Toast and a few of us ordered sides of chicken sausage (and yeah, that was good and they were also a good size, plus 3 links were included in each order). We finished quite quickly but were in a deep convo about who knows what, but never felt rushed to leave (probs as it was kind of between service times, but still, appreciated). Def need to go back for Dinner and another little retreat!

To begin, we were pleasantly surprised that our table for 10 was ready as soon as we arrived, expecting to wait a bit for such a large party. Once we were seated, our server Oliver immediately came over to explain the tapas menu and get our drink orders. Tapas are priced $7-$20 à la carte, or you can order different tasting menu tiers based on what your group is hungry for. We ordered the $35 tasting menu (tapas only) and it was more than enough food! We tried the whipped sheep cheese, flank steak, garlic mushrooms, shrimp, patatas bravas, salmon, and more! We also ordered a pitcher of red sangria for the table that was delicious. The incredible food and the attentive service made Barcelona the perfect meal for a group of old friends to catch up. After visiting Barcelona, your wallet might not be happy, but your heart sure will!

What really made the evening special, though, was the outstanding service. Our waiter was incredibly welcoming and attentive, and when he learned we were celebrating two birthdays, he surprised us with some sangria to help us celebrate. That small gesture made an already wonderful meal feel even more memorable. Between the delicious food, warm hospitality, and celebratory atmosphere, this was easily one of our favorite experiences in Nashville. We will absolutely be back anytime we're in town!
