Fast and courteous service with reasonable prices ($13.50 for large sandwiches), and good amount of both inside and outside seating. It was my first time here with a coworker and I was trying to decide between the grilled cheese and tuna melt for lunch, and I decided on the latter at my coworker's suggestion. Unfortunately the tuna melt was not toasted properly so the cheese wasn't melted, and it had too much Dijon mustard. So I wouldn't have the tuna melt again, but I will try the grilled cheese or another sandwich next time. We were there at closing time before the Christmas Eve/Day holidays so they were giving away big bags of bread at closing - thanks, Esposto's!

Solid french dip. Good amount of meat and au jus came hot. I also liked the sweetness of the onions. Quiet, nice study spot

SAN FRANCISCAN SALAD

A group of us stopped here for a lunch break from work. The ordering process was pretty strait forward. Place and pay for your order, after which you'll be given a number on a stand for your table. I tend to prefer wait service, but I do like that they bring the food to the table. I ordered the San Franciscan Salad. I loved the fresh avocado and the salad was good to the last bite. Very tasty, indeed. Everyone else's food looked very good. There appeared to be no issues. A nice getaway from work with lots of options.

I ordered a turkey sandwich and got one piece of turkey. There was more lettuce than Turkey.

This place is my new last resort right in front of subway. The second half had even less Turkey

Son Of A Baker (with Dutch crunch roll)

Tailored to individuals working in the area. Inside is super clean with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Son of a Baker on Dutch Crunch: meatball sub with peppers and arugula. A generous serving size and sandwich served piping hot! The arugula didn't hold up too well and would probably recommend a different veggie. Flavors were solid. Side Salad: Had it with green goddess dressing. Very generous again for $3 with tomatoes, croutons and cucumbers. Overall, would definitely come back for lunch as flavors, portions and price are great!

Outdoor patio

I found myself in the neighborhood and decided to stop in for lunch, and I am glad that I did. It was a beautiful summer day, so I enjoyed lunch on the front patio. I had the delicious Muffuletta and a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Both were excellent. The salami and the mortadella blended perfectly with the roasted peppers and olive tapenade. Also, the chocolate chip cookie was absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favor and do not skip out on dessert. Overall, it was a very enjoyable lunch, and I will be back for more.

ESPOSTOS HERO

I work nearby, and have stopped here quite a few for lunch now. The sandwiches and salads are consistently very good, and prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. My favorites are the Mission Bay Sandwich and the Esposto's Hero. A good option if you're looking for a quick lunch in the area.

I love coming here to get a nice sandwich fresh bread, fresh cut meat. The services is really great is close to my job so I'm here quite a few times during the week. Also, I like to recommend their peanut butter cookie. It is amazing. Make sure when you go for lunch stop here first and eat outside enjoy the beautiful San Francisco here with a delicious sandwich and classic chips

Mission Bay

I never came here before the remodel but it is nice and open space. There's one big tv playing sports with plenty of seating inside and some seating outside with heat lamps. They have a good selection of sandwiches that are already customized. I'm not sure if you can create your own. They also have salads and pastas like lasagna, spaghetti with meatballs. I had the mission bay sandwich for 12.75 that comes with a tiny cup of pasta or potato salad. The sandwhich was a good size with turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, peppercinis on dutch crunch. I was surprised at how filling it was and good amount of filling. Service was friendly, order at the counter and wait for your food.

In researching places near where we were staying, we learned about the Italian deli and shop. We were looking forward to stopping by to check out the store and grab lunch. The store itself is very cute and charming, full of so many items - fresh meats and cheeses, imported olive oils, pastas, desserts, wine, and liquor to name a few. There is an area where you can get coffee drinks and there is a deli area for ordering sandwiches, pizzas, specialty dishes, and salads. The variety of options is plentiful. I ordered an iced coffee beverage, which was great. My significant other and I ordered a sandwich to go, which we were splitting for a light lunch back at the hotel. The person helping at the counter was not very friendly or helpful with questions. We asked for our sandwich to be made on the Dutch Crunch bread, as we were looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, when we got back to the hotel, it turned out that the sandwich was made on a regular ciabatta roll, which was not fresh. Additionally, the sandwich was mostly mixed greens. For the price, I expected more meat. With so many great food options in San Francisco, it is likely we won't stop by on future visits to the City.

Portion size was perfect as well. The best sandwich I had in SF and one of the best sandwiches I've had anywhere. Service- I got here early as I knew the line would get long. I ordered the 49er and it just seemed like a greasy goopy mess. It felt like the bread congealed into a mushy paste due to all the dressing and wetness? Also my sandwich was 1000* even after walking back to my car and letting it cool with the wrapper off it was still way to hot to eat for a long while and burnt my mouth. Maybe they intentionally make them super hot to withstand long distance takeout deliveries... I dunno. Plus standing in a long line with a velvet rope baking in the sun, long wait, lack of parking, navigating skuzzy neighborhood to go there (literally saw a guy going #2 on the corner on my way out)... overall I wasn't that impressed with Deli Board compared to all the rave reviews I have heard over the years. SF lacks truly awesome sandwich places so I will give give this another shot and report back with updates, perhaps I hit it on an off day.

They're showing off their wares, flashing pristine teeth, and parading around in an endless convoy of BMWs, Mercedes, and Bentleys. It's a neighborhood where absolutely everything--from the cold-pressed juice to the real estate--has a heavy, unapologetic price tag associated with it. But we didn't come for the gloss. We came for soul. We came to find refuge in our ultimate comfort food at Lucca's Delicatessen. Walking through that door isn't just stepping into a shop; it's stepping into a Time Machine. My order never changes -- it's the Liverwurst on marble rye, dressed simply with a little tomato, mayo, and crisp lettuce. Yesterday, you might have been chasing whatever trendy sandwich they're slinging down at Lettuce, but today is about tradition. My wife goes for the Caprese sandwich with prosciutto--a beautiful, classic combination. For me, though, the magic happens on the very first bite. As soon as I crunch into that rye, the Marina melts away. I am a five-year-old boy again, sitting down with my mother at a long-lost lunch counter, just purely enjoying life. My wife knows this ritual; she sees the look on my face and she approves. That right there is the exact reason we come here. It's why we are willing to stand crammed together in that inhospitable, notoriously narrow line that hungry San Franciscans have been enduring since 1929. Dear God, think about that: it has been almost a century in existence. If you haven't tried it, maybe you should. Take a break from the shiny facade outside, step into the narrow line, and order something real. It will become a part of your DNA, just like it has permanently become a part of mine.
