    Breakfast
    Orest S.

I got breakfast there for less than $9 (crumbled eggs, 2 sausages, bacon, hashbrowns and coffee). There are no such prices in DC, especially in Georgetown. It is a buffet with no lines. It is definitely not a fancy place, but great place for a quick breakfast.

Check out their noodle bar. Big serving and so delicious. The woman at the counter that day was so nice. The place is clean and cozy.

Was there today and saw a Mouse run across be the cashier counter and they were calling numbers and they were all over the place like they. Make so many tenders and fries calling numbers then burger ect.

Please bring back the old sushi place on Epicurean! The chefs are nicer and the sushi had more selections and delicious options before Epicurean partnered up with the new sushi place. The sushi in the new place is bland and the rice is falling off unlike the old one where everything is intact in my sushi. I also found something disgusting inside my green dragon roll and am not coming back again. Two stars are because it used to be good, and the noodle place is decent, but I give it a 2/10 for the new sushi and its sanitation issue. They advertise fresh sushi, which is the irony when you had some mysterious thing in your sushi. Not coming back again unless it's for the noodle place.

I'm a fan when it comes to certain aspects. Construction be damned, this is pretty much the only consistent food I can get around the med campus day round. To be honest, most of the food will get old super quick or is overpriced. The sandwiches, noodle bar and sushi bar are definitely better than mediocre, maybe just over average, but will get monotonous after a while. There is a decent amount of change within the hot food bar - which will change between breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus even day to day - but the problem is how expensive it comes out. The only way you don't break the bank is if you get a box of nothing but leaves; otherwise a solid plate of everything you want is easily double digits. I think the only really solid deal is ironically the bar. Basically an Applebee's that doesn't suck. The sandwiches and other entrees are mostly from the sandwich bar so don't be alarmed at the lack of prices. But everyone seems to love the appetizers that comes out around dinner time - stuff like boneless chicken wings and mozzarella sticks are cheaper here than any restaurant in Glover or M Street. That combined with a decent tap, I'll take that and a Guinness most nights.

If I could give it 10 stars I would. Epicurean delivered immaculate flavor. Just wish it was a closer walk to my dorm. Fine dibing experience for sure

Epicurean is an interesting joint - they do asian dishes, sushi, sandwiches, they have a massive salad bar, and in the morning a fairly substantial breakfast buffet. There is also a full service bar here to get your drink on! I arrived very early at Georgetown University Hospital for my spinal appointment. So I ducked in here to hang out, grab some caffeine and a bite. I hit the breakfast buffet and created a plate of breakfast goodies: sausage gravy over biscuits, a hash brown, one pork sausage patty, one turkey sausage patty, a couple of slices of bacon, and a scrambled egg mixture with sausage, cheese, and who knows what else! You can also get coffee and espresso drinks. There is plenty of seating here. I'll be stopping in here during future visits to see the Doc!

I just started working for MGUH last week. I had food from the hot bar for consecutive 3 days and was pretty satisfied. It is pretty expensive (even having come from Manhattan, NY) but I was willing to let that pass for consistent, high quality food. However, today will be the last day I eat here. I am currently sitting at the sushi bar and while throroughly observing one of the sushi chefs, I noticed he is not meeting standard hygiene precautions while handling our food. For the past 20 minutes I've been sitting here, he has not once changed his gloves. The guy is CONSTANTLY working on sushi, then holding pens, then touching order forms, and bending down and pulling/pushing all drawers located beneath him. It's quite appalling and I've already lost my appetite but thankfully my sushi was made from the other chef next to him (who is only handling food). Please see attached photo of the guy writing something with his gloves on. He then of course proceeded immediately to making maki rolls for the next customer. Disturbing and disgusting. Bon appetit.

This 5/5 review is only for the sushi bar. The two main chefs are exceptionally friendly and talented, the food is always fresh and artfully prepared, and the offerings include both standard sushi rolls and creative pairings. The sought-after seats at the sushi bar are definitely the best - where you can watch the chefs prepare each plate masterfully. Unfortunately, the sushi bar is only open M-F (but the chefs are so friendly, you wouldn't want them to have to work weekends). The specials here are an exceptional draw -- 1. The lunch special: for $9.95, you can get a miso soup, salad, and either a) a california roll and 5 pieces of nigiri or b) 2 of the simpler rolls (think spicy tuna, salmon avocado, eel cucumber). This deal runs from 11-2:30 and is tough to turn down. 2. The sushi happy hour: from 3-7pm all nigiri are $1 per piece (usually an order is 2 pieces for $4-6) -- and just as fresh as during peak times. This is a great way to try some more far out options (squid, baby octopus) or make a great dinner on the favorites (salmon, yellow tail, tuna). 3. The fancy rolls are worth the price: the volcano, viagra, and las vegas rolls are fantastic. The non-sushi service is relatively slow (I've had to refill my own water several times and the check takes longer than the food), but the casual ambiance makes this a non-issue. One thing to note: it's on Georgetown's main campus, right next to the medical center, so its main customers are doctors, students, and patients. It's absolutely packed during lunch hours but also offers a quiet place (The restaurant also offers made-to-order sandwiches, some better than others, and a per-pound buffet for each meal. They have standard and high-end snacks as well - chips, protein bars, sodas, coffee, desserts. And a full-service bar. The recently opened noodle bar seems plain and over-priced, though I have not yet ventured to that corner of the joint.)

Almost everything is overpriced here but there is a good sushi lunch special for $10 that includes 2 rolls (12 pieces total), miso soup, and salad. It's good and fills you up! The sushi is high quality, fresh, and skillfully made. We come here for the sushi lunch all the time but that's it.

Salad, brisket, and Chinese... a well rounded dinner!

I wasn't anticipating a nice dining room to dine in, but there it was so we did. Although it was uncomfortably warm in there. Must have been something wrong with their A/C because they couldn't possibly always have it so warm, especially in the middle of summer. I ordered The Clevelander and she had The Mel. And of course we hit their awesome pickle bar! Why doesn't every deli in the universe have a pickle bar?! The sandwiches are piled high with meat and so delicious. Several complaints about mine, however: the menu said it comes with mayo and provolone. It came out with no spread at all so I was brought mayo packets to apply myself, which is way less than ideal with a huge already assembled sandwich. And the brand new server (on her second day there) came back after we ordered and asked if I wanted cheese. I mentioned I thought it listed a cheese on the menu, which she confirmed. But then I ended up getting charged extra for the cheese that my sandwich was supposed to come with. Kind of lame. And while my friend was asked if she wanted hers toasted, I was not. I didn't think twice about it until mine came out toasted, which I neither asked for or wanted. Lastly, the sandwich was also supposed to come with "fresh cranberry spread" and if there was any on my sandwich, it wasn't detectable. But I decided not to even mention it because I didn't want to deconstruct my sandwich a second time. Regardless of these hiccups, I would certainly consider returning.

I heard good things about their sandwiches. My go to is normally Mangialardo's on Pennsylvania Ave in SE DC or Carl's Subbs on Rhode Island Ave in NE DC. I think I will stick to both of them next time. The staff was very friendly and helpful to me as a first timer but the sandwich was totally disapointing! NOT worth it, at all. I ordered a 9 inch capicola, ham, and cheese sub on the hard roll. The roll was very good and fresh but I couldn't taste the cheese or meat in the sandwich because there wasn't enough of it. I tasted the bread, the toppings of lettuce, tomato and onions. I decided to deconstruct the sandwich and found exactly 4 very thinly sliced pieces of meat and 2 very thinly sliced pieces of cheese as pictured clearly in the photographs. I also noticed that the they have different prices for the same type of meats. For example, they have a $29.99 per pound Capicola and one for $9.99 a pound. I asked which went on the sandwich and of course it was the cheaper one. That wasn't surprising and getting my sandwich back to the office. I decided not to eat the rest of the meatless sandwich and just take the loss. I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend a friend to try it

I've only gotten the Sub Club the few times I've gone here but what can I say? its a fail proof staple that is hard to get wrong and that they do very right. I often pair it with one of their drinks, this time being the spicy ginger ale which was solid as well. There's really not much place to dine-in if you're trying to dine and go - I recommend only using the dining area if you're solo, a couple, or part of a small group (at MOST maybe - a hard maybe - on 4 people) and only if you want to use the bar. One couple tried to squeeze in a baby stroller into the bar/dining area. Its really not suitable for things like suitcases or strollers so if you're in that camp maybe try some other spots because that also made a tiny space all the more difficult to navigate. Also, if you have a mobility device, this might not be the best spot for you either. I've never used their restrooms before so can't comment on that one. I still will say it is good for when you want to grab and go - so if you're in that category, and you like moderately priced sandwiches (for this part of town) this might work for you.
