Loved the sushi here.. this might be my new favorite spot. Very happy with everything we got- so fresh and delicious. I could tell they use high quality ingredients. The order was packaged nicely and looked wonderful. Highly recommend!!

I recently visited this place, and the staff were incredibly friendly. It felt like a hidden gem, and the food was excellent. The tuna was fresh, and the toro and Japanese uni were absolutely delicious. It's definitely a place I'd love to visit again.

Slightly off the beaten path, so you will likely miss it if you don't catch the sidewalk sign directing you down the canal. Pretty small spot with a friendly staff. You place your orders downstairs and they bring your food to you up stairs. Fish was really fresh and everything is priced pretty fairly. My favorite item was the yellow tail, and the salmon belly was probably a close second.

Salmon sashimi, salmon belly nigiri and salmon temaki! Best salmon belly in town for that matter.

Still my favorite... family owned very high-quality fish you won't be disappointed, it's in a very charming spot in Georgetown.

i've seen this place on yelp and it was on one of my lists to visit. I finally got a chance to go today and i was very impressed with the quality of the fish. It's definitely a whole in the wall kind of place that pleasantly surprises you. I ordered the salmon belly seared nigiri, toro nigiri, yellowtail tail belly nigiri and crunchy spicy tuna tempura cut roll. I liked everything except the spicy scallop roll. There was an overload of sauce on top while most of these kinds of rolls are typically mixed in with the fish. It was a little too much and i decided to send it back. The waitress gave me a really hard time although if i knew it'd be that way i wouldn't have said anything at all. After she thought about it for a solid 10 minutes, she decided she's take it back. The service is fairly quick it was just this run in with our waitress that made the service experience not a 10/10. Food quality is 10/10 service is 6.5/10. Would definitely come back though just because this fish i couldn't imagine going long without!

Hidden gem! This restaurant is truly worth visiting!! You order downstairs and then they give you your table number and eat upstairs. There are only a few tables but they're not super cramped. It's nicely decorated with open windows overlooking the canal. There's enough light. The service was great, they were very courteous with good menu suggestions. They were friendly as soon as we walked in. I got the baked salmon roll and it was INCREDIBLE!! I got the green salad as well, which was very refreshing and yummy. Highly recommend!

I've been going to Bluefin for sometime now and finally got the chance to leave a review. Upon this visit I opted for the Salmon and Tuna rolls which both were refreshingly tasteful. Customer service with welcoming as usual. Ambiance is calming and dining areas are clean. Always consistent, I highly recommend Bluefin if you're in the area.

Cute spot on the canal, just tucked away from the hustle. The unassuming shop is tiny with only a couple tables as you walk in, but a handful more upstairs. We dropped in for a quick lunch Saturday and were the only customers while there. Service was adequate and cordial, pricing good. Smaller rolls, but my daughter noted the generous portion of fish in hers. Overall a nice lil lunch.

Best sushi ever! When we moved to DC in 2017, we went to as many sushi restaurants in DC as we can since we eat sushi at least once a week. After a year of searching, we found Blue Fin and became a regular. It's not a fancy place BUT they offer the best nigiris, rolls, and sashimi... and the owners are extremely friendly once you get to know them. Friends and family members I've brought here have all loved it too and agreed it's the best sushi they've had. After 5 years, we moved to California and we miss Blue Fin sushi so much! This is the first restaurant we visit every time we are in DC. If you are on a date, get some sushi take outs at Blue Fin and have a little picnic by the Georgetown water front.

We have to start off every visit with a Sapporo. This is one of Georgetowns best Sushi. This place was recently renovated but has always given me the feeling of home. The staff is amazing, super friendly and helpful when it comes to making your selection. I find that even on the busiest days you will still get the same friendly treatment. I recommend trying the spicy scallop roll. You must try it, the seafood here is some of the freshest I have ever tasted. In addition the Philadelphia roll is simply but a must at this place. Once you go once you will be hooked.

I went alone and sat at the sushi bar and did the premium omakase. Non traditional in that it was all served on one plate, but worth it. Nice presentation. I even watched a fish delivery from a vendor. It strikes you as too trendy to be good, but that's not the case.

We had a reservation for 7:30 p.m. for a party of 12, and I think that was the first issue. A group our size really needed a dedicated server, but instead we had one server covering our entire section. To be fair, he may have been stretched thin, but unfortunately, the service itself also left a lot to be desired. We were seated at 7:30, but our drink orders weren't taken until around 7:50. Then he disappeared for another 20 minutes before returning to take additional drink orders from people who had arrived later. We were ready to order food, but kept hearing, "I'll be right back." Throughout the night, drinks and items were forgotten. One friend finished her first glass of wine, ordered a second, and didn't receive it until we were literally asking for the check. At that point... we're leaving, friend. To make matters worse, several menu items we wanted weren't available. The mochi? Sold out. The Wagyu? Sold out. There were three or four different items people at our table ordered that were unavailable. On a Monday, that was a little surprising. Now for the good part... the sushi was REALLY good. I ordered the Yume Roll and the Tiger Roll, and both were incredibly fresh. The Yume Roll was especially unique and one of my favorite specialty rolls I've had in a while. It was made with spicy tuna, avocado, seared tuna, jalapeño, spicy mayo, eel sauce, and crunchy tempura bits, which gave it the perfect combination of heat, texture, and richness. The Tiger Roll was another standout, made with lump crab, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, steamed tiger shrimp, and a mango tobiko sauce. The combination of flavors was fresh, light, and perfectly balanced. I also ordered the edamame with the spicy black garlic sauce, and I absolutely loved that twist. It was a nice change from the usual salted edamame. One dish that completely missed the mark was the Tempura Rice with Chicken, which I shared with the table. Unfortunately, this was the only thing we ordered that I genuinely didn't enjoy. The chicken was dark meat, lacked seasoning, and honestly tasted like it had come straight from a bag of frozen Tyson nuggets. It didn't have the crispy, flavorful bite I was expecting and felt completely out of place compared to how fresh and well-executed the sushi was. I'd definitely skip this one on my next visit. My cocktail was just as impressive as the food. It was made with Ilegal Mezcal, pomegranate, hibiscus yuzu, simple syrup, and egg white, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The egg white gave it a silky, frothy finish, while the pomegranate and hibiscus yuzu added a bright, slightly tart flavor that paired beautifully with the subtle smokiness of the mezcal. It was as pretty as it was delicious. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. It's tucked away in an alley, so it's a little easy to miss, but once you're inside, the space is modern, spacious, and has a really cool stone bar that gives the restaurant a sleek, upscale vibe. I was also pleasantly surprised by the prices. Specialty rolls ranged from about $12-$20, with only a few premium options around $25. The edamame was about $8, so overall I thought the pricing was very fair, especially for Georgetown. Would I come back? Yes... but probably with a much smaller group. The food and ambiance are worth another visit, but I'd definitely be hoping for a better service experience next time. I also hope they have a better handle on inventory because I'd still love to try the Wagyu and finish dinner with the mochi.
