Let me just say a few things: 1- Packaged with care and safely placed in the containers. 2- They included sauces and numerous items to make the meal delicious (small sauce trays, chopsticks, etc) 3- The portions were more than enough for 2 people. We actually had several rounds of food left. 4- The food was AMAZING and fresh! I ordered the Firecracker, Shrimp Tempura, and Shrimp Shumai and EVERYTHING was perfectly prepared. The firecracker was my favorite of the favs but it was hard to come to that conclusion because all of them were just that good. Fast service online, I waited less than 30 mins. Not sure how it looks inside but now I'm curious to visit them and check out the ambiance. Definitely glad that I found a worthy sushi spot! read more

My husband and I went to Kusshi for dinner. Our first impressions: the restaurant's interior is trendy, and there's plenty of seating available. We felt welcomed, and our hostess/waitress spoke Spanish, so it was a cool dynamic to translanguage between English and Spanish! She reassured me that most items could be made gluten free, which I was excited about. I ordered the gluten-free cherry blossom, and my husband ordered the salmon and avocado, along with a spicy tuna roll, both gluten free. All of the dishes were delicious, but for some reason, the salmon and avocado stood out--they literally melted in our mouths! When we asked for the bill, I couldn't believe we had ordered all that food for under $40! My only complaint is that the music in the kitchen clashed with the music in the dining area, which was a bit distracting. Overall, good food, great prices. It doesn't get any better than this, and for these reasons, I've already planned to return with some friends and my sister! :) read more

Easily some of my favorite sushi in DC! The ambiance is not much, and the service is pretty good, but when the sushi is this delicious, that's kinda all that matters. Glover park is their newest location and I'm so glad I got to try it. Highly recommend the Kusshi Seared Fatty Salmon. It was delicious and melted in my mouth. This kusshi sushi also has more sushi roll options than other locations. I tried both the crazy toro and got beef rolls. * Crazy Toro: This roll was amazing! The o toro on top was incredibly tender, although the menu listed caviar and I got Ikura instead. Still delicious! * Got Beef: The a5 wagyu on the roll was amazing. I liked the seared wagyu on top of the roll more than the katsu. Was very happy that they served a wagyu roll at only $24. Shoutout to Darya, the manager, for providing excellent service. He was super friendly and clearly passionate about both the new restaurant and opening the upstairs bar. The downstairs already has a great vibe with fun posters and sconces. So glad Kusshi finally opened in Glover Park! The space is small and cozy with a great neighborhood vibe. The food was excellent. The Ika Geso were light and perfectly crispy, and the Chicken Karaage was incredibly juicy. For rolls, we tried the "Got Beef?" Roll with A5 Wagyu--rich, decadent, and honestly a steal at $24. The Kusshi Seared Fatty Salmon nigiri literally melts in your mouth. Don't skip it. Service was fantastic too. Only downside? No room for dessert, but the Nutella Roll is calling my name next time. Perfect spot for date night or catching up with friends. So happy to have this in the neighborhood! read more

Came in during lunch with friends and we all got the bento box. The salmon teriyaki was to die for. I like how I didn't have to choose between soup or salad, it comes with both, a california roll, and some dumplings. Great amount of food for such a good price. Ordered ikura nigiri...was given salmon nigiri instead - this has happened at least one before. If you are out of something, let your customer know! However, I don't think that was the case here, as I ordered a roll with ikura on top, and that roll was complete. If you actually want what you ordered, any place other than here is better. Food is delicious, located right next to a Strip Club $20 for the Spicy Miso is definitely overpriced, but it's just DC inflated prices anyways. It makes you want to order Donburi or Mail Rolls instead. The place is cozy in the winter months, and definitely is a good spot overall. read more

Went here on a random whim Saturday with my family. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and picked this place because we love Japanese inspired cuisine. The udon noodles are amazing, we had the seafood bowl and the girls loved it. My husband had the shrimp curry it was so flavorful and delicious. I greatly enjoyed my sushi...the lobster one left more to be desired but the GOT beef roll, spider roll, salmon roll, yellow tail (got it with real crab meat), and shrimp tempura roll were prepared exceptionally well! And we were worried because we were a big party but Alex had too tier service and was well equipped to answer all our questions down to our appreciation for the art on the walls. I was greeted within 2 minutes of my arrival my server, Alex was very friendly and presented me with a complimentary piece of sushi, Kusshi seared Fatty Salmon, which was very tasty as well as unexpected. I ordered a 6 piece tuna roll while I browsed the menu. I asked Alex what he would recommend and he was quite knowledgeable about the menu, which impressed me that he had eaten the food himself. I ended up ordering the Chesapeake roll. I also asked Alex about the music and he told me that it was his own personal playlist.
