When we found out Green Almond Pantry was closed for the summer, we pivoted here because our eight-year-old daughter loves sushi. The mural-decorated building sealed the deal for her. The space is small with a few indoor tables and a few outdoor ones along the sidewalk. We ordered two sushi plates a person and it personally wasn't enough for me. Despite this, it tasted good- the shrimp tempura roll and spicy shrimp one. If you go, note that it took a very long time to get our sushi. Two people were working and they had lots of online orders on a Sunday in August.

Came here before a movie viewing for a quick bite. It tasted good and they made it right when we were ordering. A small little mom and pop shop with super nice owner and staff. It's simple but if you want to grab a quick bite, perfect location and hit the spot.

I always like to try new restaurants by my job and today I tried Khin's. What drew me in besides my love of sushi was the bright and colorful building. I had passed by it a few times on my afternoon walks, and knew I wanted to check them out eventually. It was empty when I went inside which was great because I was immediately able to place my order and grab a seat. I opted for a spicy tuna roll, and the price point is excellent. It came out shortly after and had 9 rolls which is more than I expected. It was very good, although I wouldn't say it was spicy. I will definitely be back!

Very fresh seafood and great rice. They are well balance between the filling and the amount of rice. We had the maki, the spicy tuna and the crispy, all of them were amazing. It is a very nice place, a chill restaurant. It was surprisingly good. There is room for improvement with the service.

Visited DC with some friends and family, and while sightseeing, we stumbled into this cozy sushi spot. The food was fresh, the service was quick and friendly, and the view made the experience even better. Definitely hit the spot, a perfect break during a day of exploring the city.

Pretty decent sushi for the price! A great place to try if you're by the Waterfront! With near out door seating you can enjoy the nice fall vibes. If it gets cold they have an indoor upstairs seating

Already dug into this Tempura Shrimp Poke Bowl, but it was really great food, great service, clean restaurant, and a nice view of Georgetown. I would 100% go back, and I'm telling my friends about this place.

Salmon & Avocado Roll and Spicy Roll Tuna. No flavor in either of them and the fish was not fresh.

Huge miss. Their normal prices for basic rolls are 9.50 which is high even for DC. The fish wasn't fresh, the portion of fish per roll was low, and the spicy tuna roll lacked a lot of flavor. The rice didn't seem the be seasoned at all as sushi rice should be. The service was quick but the rolls were pretty sloppily done. Overall super disappointed and I can see why there was no one there. I didn't feel like I could eat in the space because the staff was so unwelcoming. Go next door for a quick bite instead or go to bluefin one street over for good quality and a lower price point.

I love Khin sushi! My go to sushi spot in Georgetown, the staff is so sweet and they make the sushi so fast. The fish is great quality and despite being in Georgetown, I find it fairly priced. The spot is tucked away in the canals of Georgetown but definitely worth walking to. They have plenty of seating upstairs.

Great spot for a casual dinner with a friend! The food came out very quickly and tasted delicious!

Me and my friend got the sushi burrito and It was so unbelievably good, but a little smaller than expected. My friend also got the miso soup and it was okay. The upstairs sitting area they have is nice and secluded. Service was speedy. Overall would recommend.

Quick service, decent food for the price but small quantity. Water cups were made of styrofoam and was warm. Wish they would opt for a recycle-able material.

this place is a downgrade from bandoola. i got the poké and was disappointed by the lack of customization and variety of toppings. it wasnt bad tasting but for $15 it was not worth. go for poki dc.

The layout is interesting -- there's an upstairs when you walk in, but the sushi bar and a good bit of seating are downstairs. The menu is pretty straightforward with a mix of hand rolls, appetizers, specialty rolls, nigiri/sashimi, and traditional rolls. They also have a few solid combo deals, though I usually prefer trying a variety of items instead. Service was quick, which is always appreciated at a sushi spot. We ordered a few specialty rolls, two traditional rolls, and a couple orders of sashimi, all served together on one platter. The rolls were a great size -- filling without being overly large. The sashimi was fresh, and the traditional rolls really balanced out the meal nicely. The flounder and tuna sashimi were both excellent, and the California roll made with real crab was simple, fresh, and really satisfying. The total came out somewhere in the $70 range, so after tip and splitting it between two people, it was about $40 each to try multiple rolls and sashimi. Definitely fair pricing for the quality and amount of food. This spot had been on my list for a while, so I'm glad I finally made it over. I'd recommend checking out the menu beforehand so you can go in with a game plan and try the items that stand out most to you.

I ordered the 5 set hand roll with Hottie scallop, Kanpachi, Torch me slowly, Spicy salmon and Mango Tango. I loved the flavors of each one but the wrapping was tricky. Some of the rolls wouldn't come off because the wrapping had a lot of moisture so I ended up just eating it deconstructed. I prefer how Kazu Nori gives you each roll one at a time to prevent this. Overall great hand rolls but it's super messy so I'd give it a 3.8/5.

Making a dinner reservation on their online platform was a breeze and seamless. Try their Okimari Prix Fixe, as it comes with miso soup, a choice of a sashimi carpaccio, 10 pieces of premium nigiri, a choice of maki, and ice cream. There is also Gakyu Omakase specialties, where one is a sushi course and one is a fugu course (that is seasonal). They also have Signature Sushi Sets, in which the Edo Style Nigiri and the Gaku Sushi Assortment are recommended! We enjoyed the Chef's Langoustine Lobster roll and the Chef's Crunchy Spicy Tuna roll, several nigiris (Aburi-style), and the sushi sets. Other options include various soups, apps, and a la carte items. Service was kind, friendly, and attentive. Look for the Sushi Gaku sign/plaque, and go downstairs. If you love old & new R&B this is the place to be on Thursday & Sunday nights. My only complaint is that the music is so loud it's hard to have a conversation or even place your order. We had to ask our waitress multiple times for limes, soy sauce and a to go box. I don't blame her for being overwhelmed since the music was so loud but there is room for improvement! Sebastian Roll: 10/10 fried crab roll was delicious. This is my new go to roll! Buenos Aires Roll: 7/10 nothing crazy. Reminded me of an elevated California roll with torched salmon on top. Vegetable Gyoza: 7/10 pan fried instead of boiled which I prefer! Kind of bland. Would be better with a different sauce or added protein. Calamari: 7/10 good but it did not stand out.
