I am disabled and unable to leave my home most days, so I reached out a few times specifically to inquire if my orders of cups of ice orders were causing a negative impact on their profits so that I can change my orders if so, but I have never heard back. Instead, on Saturday the breakfast menu showed that the $1 for 20-ounce cup, is now to $2, so I didn't order breakfast or ice. The lunch menu showed the $1 price so I ordered a couple of meals for the weekend and ice. As of now, however, the lunch menu reflects the same $2 cost for a cup of ice as the breakfast menu. I'm really sad that they never responded because they have really great food, but alas our relationship cannot be built on ice alone...

Casual diner style place with bar/counter seating, takeout line, and regular table seating. Workers here are all friendly and work very quickly The meat is all fresh and carved right in front of you. I ordered the Brentwood sandwich with roast beef, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, onion, oil, and horseradish. The portion was great for the price, meat piled high. Just wish the meat was more seasoned. Could've used more salt and seasonings. Otherwise the meal was great. I will definitely come back.

Family favorite here! While the prices have increased, it is always a treat to myself. The brisket is so tender and juicy! I have tried and failed over and over again to try something new because I'm so obsessed with this sandwich. The staff is always so friendly. There is counter seating and booth/table seats available as well.

Fresh tasting meats and a variety of delicious sandwiches, homemade soups and chili, fresh-cut fries, and make-your-own huge salads. You can't go wrong here. Great people and the waitstaff is hospitable and top notch! Thank you for being the best deli in DC!

The sandwiches don't get any more authentic and fresh than this. My go to is the turkey, but be sure to add some sort of condiment, I prefer the honey mustard. The portion size is BIG, and share able. Street parking can be limited, but worth the wait!!

My coworkers have been talking about this place .so I had a half of day and on my way home I stopped by and ordered the open face Thanksgiving dinner and the open face brisket dinner..and OMG they were both delicious. I think the open face Thanksgiving beat the brisket. But the brisket came in a close 2nd ..a very close 2nd..

    Cheap eats.

I have driven by MGM countless times. I made it a point to stop by today and I am mad at myself for waiting so long. We ordered breakfast and really enjoyed it. The ham is amazing and freshly cooked. The pancakes and waffles were so soft and tasty. The potatoes were well seasoned and delicious. Only thing that would make it better is if they had mimosas. They have beer so fingers crossed many one day.

Super popular tourist spot (and with good reason!),I def reccomend making a reservation. Luckily for my visit on a Saturday at 1pm, the wait to be seated wasn't too long, only about 10 minutes. I've never had oysters anywhere besides New York so I wanted to try them here and my mom got the fried oyster deviled eggs. Our sever Stephanie was such a delight and probably has the coolest pin collection I've ever seen. Also the restaurant just has a really beautiful atmosphere to sit down and enjoy some really great hospitality. Onto the food! Oysters were smaller than I thought they'd be but SO FLAVORFUL and just the right amount of brine, and slid beautifully from the shell 10/10 The deviled eggs were given a 10/10, presentation was beautiful and the pickled relish was a well rounded addition We then finished up by sharing the cheasapeake eggs Benedict! Which featured their famous crab cake. The HOLLANDAISE?? literally danced in my mouth. The crab meat was so tender and buttery! Only difference I would've loved if the smoked paprika that was on the deviled eggs to also be featured on the Benedict! Over all it was a very lovely and sense awakening experience 9/10

It's moved around a bit over the years and the exact original location is a mystery. The restaurant story is just the start. The food of course is where it's at. Old Ebbitt is famous for it's crab cakes according to the server so you know what direction I went in. They were more like a Maryland crab cake which has a ton of meat. We were at their lunch dining so salads were also ordered and tasted amazing. Finished the mean off with a Key Lime Pie and coffee. Reservations are highly recommended given its popularity. They also asked that all attendees in your party are present so remember that to be seated. Situated near the White House, and directly across the street from The Department of Treasury, it's an ideal spot for a meal before or after site seeing. What's clear about Old Ebbitt Grill is its longstanding appeal. President McKinley was such a fan he reportedly lived there during his Congressional days. Presidents Grant, Johnson, Cleveland, and Roosevelt all stopped in, basically making it a hot spot in Washington. If it's President approved you should go also!

This was one of the most unique shakshukas I'd ever had... It literally tasted like a curry dish you might get at your local Indian restaurant, with a bit of a brunch flair to it. The curry itself had a wee bit of spice and was a bit sweet - but that could have been from the sweet potatoes. The chicken was served in a bowl on the side, which felt a bit... odd... I would've expected it to be incorporated into the main dish. It was kind of bland and a bit lukewarm, so I don't know that I'd order that again... but I would definitely order this again!

My daughter had the wild mushrooms burger and she loved it -- the aioli had the perfect tang to go with the mushroom and Swiss, both burgers were cooked perfectly medium as requested. The old fashioned was just your typical old fashioned with a slice of candied bacon attached to the outside of the glass. We were hoping for something smokier and a little different but it was still a very good Old Fashioned. We shared the chocolate mousse and it was perfection. Yum! She was most likely on auto pilot and appeared embarrassed when she realized it. I politely smiled and said (confidently), table for 1. We solo diners need to be loud and proud! I digress... Before being seated I found the restroom. I found it odd that it was extremely dim. The main dining room was brighter than the restroom! I also saw the Photo Booth. Interesting addition. $5 for pictures. I was seated at a small round table with two chairs by the window. The restaurant was plenty busy, and I'm just glad I wasn't asked if I wanted to sit at the bar (I didn't). My server Noel brought two bottles of water: still and sparkling. I requested lemon slices, which he brought. And I proceeded to finish the entire bottle of sparkling by the end of the meal...guess I was thirsty! But I appreciated the option of both. I forgot to ask for a straw, but saw them in a container at the register right behind my table, so I got one myself. After ordering I noticed a nearby table had some bread so I asked Noel if they served complimentary bread. He said yes and apologized for not bringing it initially. Not that I needed it, but I don't eat bread with butter often and this was a night out to indulge a bit. There were two slices, nothing special. My food arrived within about 10-15 minutes and looked so scrumptious. I ordered the lamb and short rib meatballs and Brussels sprouts. The meatballs were pretty good, but what made them even better was the tzatziki sauce. I didn't realize the green rice was on one side of the plate until I was almost done. That tzatziki sauce was really all I needed to go with the meatballs. It was cool and creamy to go with the dry, meatiness of the meatballs. I honestly wish there had been more of it! I did not finish the rice, which didn't look super appetizing because of the intense green color. I will say though, I'm not a fan of spicy food but the tzatziki had a kick. I think perhaps due to chopped jalapeños. I tried to avoid them once I realized. The Brussels were delicious! Roasted to perfection, not too charred and not too mushy. I requested the green goddess sauce on the side because I'm not a huge sauce person, but once I tried it, I couldn't stop. Again, the combination of the creaminess of the sauce with the flakiness of the Brussels was a genius pairing. During the meal the beverage manager stopped by. I didn't have any drinks with the meal, but perhaps I will return to see what they have. Noel brought the bill at my request, then brought over the portable device so I could pay at the table. While that process is efficient, it's always awkward leaving a tip when the server is standing right there. Anyhow, overall it was a good experience and a delicious meal!

It ended up being a little dry, but the fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and a hit with everyone at the table. My son had the NY strip steak with mashed potatoes and really enjoyed it. I ordered the sugar snap pea salad with salmon, and it was exactly what I was looking for on a hot summer evening. The salad was fresh, light, and refreshing, with a subtle hint of mint that really made the flavors pop. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with the salad. My friend ordered the sugar snap salad with chicken Milanese, and the portion was enormous. The chicken literally covered the entire plate! It looked delicious and would easily satisfy a hearty appetite. The Mac & cheese was cooked well with a nice crust on top. Overall, the food was fresh, the portions were generous, and there was something for everyone. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in DC.
