I'm giving this place 5 stars because the service is consistently AWESOME!!! With a large family we frequent this place and every time they treat you like family. No where is better for great selection, prices and above all SERVICE!! You guys ROCK!! read more

Dale and Hannah are fantastic. Both were very kind, patient and knowledgeable. I am admittedly ignorant when it comes to ski boots, but they both spent loads of time helping me understand and find the right fit. I'm sure they were annoyed by me on the inside, but it didn't show at all. They deserve a raise. Thank you so much! read more

Had a great experience here for the labor day sale. Everyone we talked to was friendly and helpful. We didn't plan on buying as much as we did but ended up buying more things we would have bought online because of the experience. Highly recommended. read more

Incapable workers who don't want to work and get mad when you ask them for help. I will neveR come back here. The pEople who run the rental area are pathetic and so are the peopple who check you out. If you want this to stay in business then you need to make some changes, and very soon. read more

Alex from snowboards is the man! Slapped some new bindings on for me, couldn't be happier.

Very pricey and terrible customer service, they wanted to charge me 50 bucks to set up my bindings on my new skis and refused to do it at the end because I didn't bring my ski boots. They could have perfectly accepted my money and use one of their own ski boots from the store. Overall the store looked great, but customer service could have been way better read more

Customer service is my opinion is what creates a loyal customer base, and once in a while you come across an employee who truly deserves a 'thank you'. I have never written a YELP review before but felt this was the perfect opportunity to do so. Boulder Ski Deals has indeed gained me as a loyal customer today because of their supervisor, Mark. The reason I am writing this is not because I was working with Mark directly, but observed his truly great customer service skills towards a disgruntled guest during my visit. When I walked in tonight, an older gentleman at the register actually treated me quite poorly. However, because I was in awe of Mark's patients and generosity with an outraged customer- I've decided to give Boulder Ski Deals a 4-Star rating. I certainly hope they appreciate this man. When I arrived I heard a customer loudly and irrationally explaining how 'the repair shop ruined his board'. Mark listened to this man rant for about ten minutes and tried to offer alternative explanations, while communicating with one of the repair men about what could have happened. After finding out that the repair men didn't actually take the snowboard into the shop, Mark calmly and respectfully told the man that there wasn't much more he could do, but gave the man his money back and the store managers contact information. I have always been an observant shopper and have been in the service industry for ten years. I wanted to applaud Mark in person after spectating, but thought this review would prove more valuable. "You never know who might be listening." read more

UNDERSTAFFED!!! I recently went in to Boulder Ski Deals to rent some gear with my friends. The staff in the rental department were very helpful and friendly once they were able to start working with us, but unfortunately there were only 2 people working on a Saturday night and the wait was about 40+ minutes before we could start getting set up. In addition to the wait, I was hoping to demo a board but was told that the computer system was not set up to demo boards even though the boards were sitting on the shelves. Huge bummer. My friends were able to rent the skis they wanted but I had to go to Christy Sports to get a quality board rental. The 2 folks working in rentals that night were working as fast as they could, but I don't want to wait so long just to get a low quality snowboard so I will be taking my business back to Christy Sports next time where they have enough staff to properly run their rental department and they have quality gear available. Oh, and the kicker - Christy Sports has cheaper prices on rental packages! read more

Owned by Vail Corp. disappointed not a locally owned business. I usually don't complain, but customer service has been extremely poor the last few times I've been in. No one asked if they could help me, while 5-6 employees stood at the counter and bad mouthed customers coming in wanting ski tune-ups. When buying a new ski set up they didn't listen to what I wanted. The boot guarantee is bogus, they sold them too tight and didn't listen to me during the re-fitting. I was floored at how rude most employees were. Seriously spend your $ elsewhere. read more

Horrible customer service!!!! One person working the register one of my worst shopping experiences ever. Avoid at all costs.

They SUCK! The most unorganized unprofessional store ever! Wasted a huge chunk of our snowboard boarding day only to tell us oh btw we don't have the right size bindings after we waited 45 mins to get help. I also stood at the counter 15 mins and no one even acknowledged that fact that I was standing there waiting for help. Would have been better handled had there been better communication, organization of ANY KIND an better rental inventory! Stay away if you are wanting to rent snowboard gear. We don't ski so I cannot advise. I am appalled and in shock how they treat their clients.....they simply don't give a damn! We will never return not even if they are the last rental place in CO! read more

Just walked in to buy a helmet. I waited 10 minutes and no one helped me. Then went to the front desk and asked for some help and the people just kept talking. Went and waited another 15 minutes by the helmets and was still not helped. Eventually just walked out the store and took the $200 I was about to spend with me. The store wasn't even busy and yet the staff could not find time to help a customer. I vote with my dollar and they definitely lost a costumer for good. read more

I second the other listing that said POOR management. Staff is poorly trained. I called ahead to check on prices and was told over the phone a price that did not match what I was asked to pay in store... The guy basically said... "Yeah, I'm not sure who told you that but they were wrong". In the same visit I went in to get my daughter fitted for skis to rent. No one told me they didn't have the right size and attempted to pass off WAY too big of skis. I took them home and my husband was floored. He couldn't believe anyone would let me walk out the door with skis that came up to the top of her head. They took them back, no charge, but I wasted precious time trying to get my family of 5 equip for a ski trip. Another instance when I was in the store (previous to getting poorly fitted skis), the manager was making calls to lay off/fire employees from a register telephone. This seemed so unprofessional and I honestly just felt bad for the guy on the other end, as I'm sure his co workers all did as well. Not the right way to do business. Manager seems SO rude as I saw him arguing with a customer... Easy decision for me to take my family of almost 6, elsewhere for gear. read more

New name, same fabulous service. My snowboard boots (that I puchased there 3 seasons ago) failed yesterday, and Marshall and Ellen came to my rescue, tool box in "little" hand. Great team effort with a smile, humor and skills to boot. Couldn't of asked for better customer service and top notch repair. Thanks kids read more

These guys are pretty big money hogs. Dude told me my tune would be $65 and when I checked out it mysteriously rose to $70, tax not included. They do this stuff all the time. Some of their staff is okay, but others are completely useless, and most of them only care about how much they make off you. read more

Really good experience with Dan -- he was very helpful, patient, listened to what I needed and talked me through the best options (I'm not sure if the other reviewer who mentions Dan below is talking about the same guy..."fast talking" would not be how I describe him). I had bought a pair of skis at Colorado Ski & Golf last fall, and as a relatively new skier they were just too much for me. Stopped into Boulder Ski Deals (sister company to CS&G), and Dan put me into the right pair of skis (they have a performance guarantee, if you don't like the skis they'll trade them out). Was very cautious in recommending them since they cost more, which said a lot. Only negative -- when I went to get my skis, Dan wasn't there and the kid at the desk brought Fred over, who is one of the managers, and he spent 20 minutes trying to talk me out of making the change despite all the time I had spent with Dan and all the research I had done. I think he was trying to help, but he was pretty condescending about it, finally relented but it wasn't a good experience overall. But all in all, 4 stars thanks to Dan's helpfulness. read more

I must admit that although most of the sales staff know little about telemark and nordic skiing, the deals you can get on "last year's" gear are unbeatable. Also, it seems that at least some of the people who actually do the work on your skis are experts. read more

I really want to thank Jane, Collin, and one of the other snowboard guys (I'm so sorry, I can't remember his name) at Epic in Boulder! I was sized wrong at this location for snowboard boots during a previous visit, but these 3 made it right and did a performance swap out. I didn't get to meet Jane, but she was so kind and helpful on the phone. It was worth the drive to Boulder. Thanks again!! Excellent customer service and expertise (they even fixed some other stuff on my board that I didn't even realize were wrong!) read more

went in just to look around, but Derek helped us find an awesome deal on some skis and bindings and Kale who we nicknamed salad helped us with some new boots...costly detour, but worth it. Come here to buy stuff! read more

A pretty good option for equipment. Small amount of tele gear, but they carry the basic brands of tele boots and bindings. Staff is pretty knowlegable. They usually have great deals on last year's gear. I picked up a pair of '09 Mantra's and '10 K2 Revival's at really really good prices. read more

Just spent 45 minutes in the ski rental line without it moving because there was only 1 person helping. I wasn't even acknowledged, everyone in the store was complaining about the wait and the fact that no one was helping. Most people including myself ended up leaving to rent elsewhere. read more

They are so unhelpful. My friend and I walked in and he had a broken legs so I guess non of there commission style employees thought they'd make a buck. Save money and go two more blocks to Rei where they give you 100% guarantee. So worth it. read more

Went to pick up brand new skis today from Boulder Ski Deals and they had me confirm the DIN settings before taking them away (1 star earned for that at least). However, one of them was way off, which could easily have resulted in a bad accident. 30 years ago my mother broke her leg for exactly this reason, and she has been severely disabled ever since. Many would not have actually checked the settings, even if asked. I'm pretty appalled. That's the last time I buy anything from Boulder Ski Deals!! read more

What a breath of fresh air! I have been in the store several times before and experience with staff was OK but my experience with management was very not OK. I just went in to try to beat the labor day sale rush and was greeted by multiple people, had very pleasant interactions with a couple of staff members when I had questions and then when I was ready to buy, I was fortunate enough to have flagged down the new manager (I think his name is Cory?) who thanked me for giving the store another shot and was very pleased when I told him about my positive experience today. This is a great shop and I would encourage you to give it another shot if you had a rough experience before. read more

only go here if you know your gear, know about the gear you want, or just know exactly what you want- they probably have it. However- the staff's knowledge about the equipment and skiing (especially back country) ranges from mediocre to laughable ("skins? Um, I don't really know what that is but I'm pretty sure this isn't the kind of place that would have that"). read more

My husband and I moved from New York to Boulder about 3 weeks ago; leaving my 6 year old ski boots behind (purposely!). I've been a skier for about 20 years and was stoked to move to Colorado and set out to purchase new boots. My experience at Boulder Ski surpassed my expectations and I'm so happy with my new equipment. Julian helped me out so much, explaining the boots and what/how they should feel. I was very hesitant about walking out with anything, (after the bad pair I've been using for so long) and he really explained what would accommodate my needs, and I'm just so grateful for all of his help. Aside from the boots, Julian also helped me out with ski poles. I'm psyched for the season to start already!! Thank you! read more

Went in on the first day of Ski-Rex to buy skis, boots, and bindings. Hannah helped fit me into some boots, and she was awesome. She really knew what she was doing and she spent a lot of time helping me. She also helped me pick out some used skis, and one of the managers (Cory) approved a killer deal for me. The guy at the register actually checked with him before ringing me up because he thought it was too cheap. All in all, great customer service and great deals. That said, I was helped by several of the staff before finding Hannah, and they didn't really seem to know what they were doing. So if the person who is helping you seems iffy, get a second opinion. ESPECIALLY if you're buying boots. Ask for Hannah! read more

The staff here was super helpful when I was trying to fit ski boots. They definitely knew what they were talking about and were happy to explain ski boot differences and what they could do to make them fit your feet. Best of all, they price match--even online prices. read more

Service department is an Epic mess. 40 minute wait as the next on line to get a tune and wax. They made me wait to take my money! While waiting, they lost customers skis, agents took customers out of order, and one agent just disappeared in the middle of helping a customer. Go to Christy. read more

Boulder Ski Deals is a great shop with knowledgeable staff. They were extremely helpful finding me a ski boot that fit well. I've always had a tough time finding boots that fit and Boulder Ski Deals has helped me from start to finish. I recommend them to anyone! read more

I've had nothing but great service every time I've been in. I like the selection of snowboards, unlike most chain stores they have advanced equipment. I have very hard to fit feet and have struggled with finding boots that don't wrap my feet in pure evil. These guys take their time, fit and refit me, tweak the liners, etc. And they were kind enough to take back a pair of (barely worn) evil boots well after the warranty/guarantee period - crediting me $220 towards another pair of boots. I appreciate the time and attention I get when I shop here. read more

I wanted to write a review because of the great experience that I had today and the mixed nature of the other reviews on this board. Hands down, a great experience buying ski boots. Very knowledgeable staff, very attentive, and incredibly helpful. I walked in thinking I would scope out a few boots and prices that I was interested in (and definitely not buy boots). I left about an hour later with a brand new pair of high performance ski boots with a better fit than I've found elsewhere, cheaper than I could find the boots anywhere else, and with a great guarantee. Cameron was incredibly helpful - both in terms of fitting me, talking me through the return policy, explaining the boot guarantee that Boulder Ski Deals offers, and showing me all of the differences between each type of boot that I could buy. I could tell that he knew what he was talking about, and he was genuinely interested in helping me find the best boot (instead of just the highest price tag). Though he was totally "selling me" on the boots, he had every right to - (1) that's his job, (2) he knew his stuff, and (3) he was able to offer a pretty good deal. I walked out paying $480 for a $600 pair of boots ($600 being the price offered at any other store in Boulder or online, not the list price) with a sale deal and a coupon that the staff offered to me (again, they didn't have to give me the $100 coupon that came out of some mailer). I'm usually not quick to make a purchase this big, but with their boot fit guarantee, their return policy, the price, and the great experience, I was confident enough to buy today. read more

Got some boots. Enric helped me out and was awesome. I'll definitely be back because of him.

Excellent customer service. Especially from mike the manager and chad

I have bought a range of gear here over the years. Their exchange program for kids gear is great. Their shop is solid for tunes, mounting, etc. They did dimple the bottom of a pair of of my skis when mounting bindings--but using screws that were too long--but they made it right. I find that they know what they are talking about with regard to alpine and telemark--they do have a couple of tele guys--but this is not the place for Nordic gear--but they don't hold themselves out as experts on this either--do they even sell Nordic stuff? Prices are good, too. read more

Recent ski tune did not go well. They were late in completing the job and it was done poorly. Sales person was rude. Cashier made it right by giving discounts and refunding the ski tune. read more

I came in today to get my bindings mounted on my skis and a guy named Josh was extremely rude and told me that I had to get brand new bindings because they wouldn't fit my skis. I ordered my bindings through a friend who got me a great deal that worked at a different ski shop and my friend asked if he could speak to this guy Josh over the phone. After handing Josh my phone, he proceeded to yell at my friend for helping me get a good deal on skis and bindings and told him that he was "violating policy". Josh cared so much, that he called the Salomon rep who then called my friend and yelled at him for helping me out (are you kidding? who cares!). I then went to Christy sports and they told me I just needed wider breaks and they cut the price in half for going there instead of Boulder Ski Deals. Worst ski shop in Boulder, by far. read more

Boulder Ski Deals lost one of their most loyal customers today, and the younger generation too. Never have I seen a manager act so unprofessional. Shopped here for over 20 years and will never spend another dime in the establishment after being berated and personally insulted in front of my 10 year old daughter. Another fine Boulder-born business falls to a corporate culture that does not care about the customer. Support another business, even if they are a corporate giant. Thanks to the long-time employees that have always been respectful and helpful. read more

They know their stuff here! And that's why I keep coming back. Great customer service, technical knowledge.

Solid staff, good prices. Every time I've gone in there its been a good time, never had to wait too long for help. Great selection and always find something to burn a hole in my wallet when I walk in here. Overall a nice spot in Boulder for ski and winter apparel, tend to shop here a few times a season. read more
