The go-to ski shop in Boulder for a reason. Every college kid you know in Boulder goes here because they don't mark up their prices like crazy. The service is also always great. Whenever my family visits I always make sure they rent from here instead of at mountain. Nina is also the best - aside from always helping me out, my father once left his rental skis at the mountain so Nina had an employee pick them up the next time they were at Copper with no charge to us. Also, whenever I need a new mounting or base grind Crystal is my place every time. The shop discount for renting with a family/friend really makes it worth it. read more

Great service by a great indie shop! Friendly lots of selection and rentals! Mounted my strive 14 and Icelandic's and did in the scheduled time! Thanks and glad you're around! read more

A friend and I were in need of quick assistance as he was planning on boarding the next day. We googled and found this shop, so we gave them a quick call and Peter answered. He was very informative on the call and helped answer our questions. He even gave us a call right back when he gave us some incorrect time frames, which we found very helpful. Once we walked in Peter immediately greeted us and started to help us out, he even went to grab someone who could further explain and help my friend with his needs. Ben then came out and was extremely informative to my friend. He showed him some other areas of his board that needed to be fixed, and explained how the wax he wanted wasn't really the best option for his board at the moment. He spent sometime with us to make sure we understood everything he was telling us, and then took his board back to get started working on it. Then when we came back to grab his board Elsa quickly greeted us, grabbed it and started to helped but his bindings on. While she worked on that Christian helped provide additional information and fun facts as well as other resorts to go to. Honorary shout out to the owner (Justin) dog (I am so sorry I just can't spell the dogs name) who literally walked up to us and for some reason just KNEW I needed to pet a dog that day. Thank you. As well as the other workers who I noticed immediately acknowledged every person who walked in, seemed incredibly informative, and honestly, it didn't seem like they wanted to upsell more so like they wanted everyone to have the best experience and the best products coming out of the store. That's great business. I did want to say that we were advised that the wax would last for longer than our trip (we arrived Wednesday and left Monday) and by Sunday the wax was completely gone. So not sure, if it was because of the conditions of the slopes, or something else. I'm sure there could have been plenty of reasons why that happened. It was a bit of a bummer because the slopes were in better conditions on Sunday and Monday. Day of visit was 2/5 read more

Good experience with knowledgeable folks that are passionate about the industry. See you on the slopes folks!

Crystal is the best snowboard rental shop around! The gear is top-notch, the process is smooth, and the service is outstanding. Huge thanks to Will E. for his expert advice and friendly attitude--he made sure I had the perfect setup for my ride. The shop is well-stocked, organized, and hassle-free. If you need rentals, go to Crystal and ask for Will E. You won't be disappointed! read more

Tried to go tubing and rented all equipment, water ended being too low for floating. Went back to return equipment and was fully refunded. Ben's customer service was awesome, really nice staff! We'll be back for next time! read more

Me and my family had the best experience! The three men that were on staff the morning of March 7th were amazing and so helpful! Couldn't recommend them more! read more

Had an awesome experience at Crystal - Emma was fantastic and incredibly helpful throughout the entire ski to binding process. Highly recommend Crystal for their gear but mostly for their expert staff 10/10! read more

I never used the package I had rented for the season, when I found that I needed a surgical procedure. There was absolutely no difficulty when I asked to defer my rental, only that they didn't have a mechanism to to so, they refunded me the entire amount. Crystal will be seeing me next season. read more

The service was fantastic. Everybody is so knowledgeable so friendly and so accommodating.

Fantastic, exceptional service and value! I will be back again and again. Emily and Nell helped me. They were outstanding. read more

This place always has a friendly, low-stress vibe with excellent customer service. We've rented my kids' skis here for the past 4 years and they've always worked out great. I want to give a shout out to Alex who offered to put in extra time when I brought in my new skis last night to be adjusted to my boots on a tight turnaround. I will continue renting from and using this great business! read more

The staff at Crystal are extremely kind and efficient. The price is also phenomenal; I can rent equipment for both kids for less than the cost of one kid at a different rental shop in town. If you need a daily rental, Crystal is the BEST! read more

We love Crystal Ski Shop. Great team, great equipment, easy to reserve ahead of time, and so much more affordable than the other options in Boulder (and certainly a lot less than on the mountain). And if you get stuck in slow traffic on I70 and get back late, you can return your skis early the next morning! And it is a small local business, which I am very happy to support! read more

We've been to Crystal Ski Shop a handful of times and they have always provided good service. One time in particular we had an issue with a certain part of our cross country ski - it would sometimes pop out during our run. We understand that these are rentals and things happen so we didn't stress too much. When we went to return them though we did mention the issue and Nina was kind enough to offer us a "free rental" for our next visit. This wasn't something she had to do for us but she insisted and we really appreciated the customer support! You guys always have and continue to be our "go-to" for rentals. Thanks for everything! read more

Alex was super helpful and went above and beyond to help us out. All of the staff were super friendly and highly knowledgeable. Great prices, and awesome atmosphere. Highly recommend! read more

UPDATE. Thanks Justin for being proactive and taking care of your customers. We will see you next time we are in Denver. ORIGINAL: I rented snowshoes from here earlier this month. Alex was really great. We had a harrowing weekend already having to abort our plans to go to Grand Lake getting stuck in our car for 8 hours only to turn around once I-70 was open. The shoes that were fitted on one of us was swapped out at the last minute because it appeared they were 2 left feet. The pair we received were much more warn which became apparent when the grommet detached. Ugh. I wish Alex would have been more emphatic about the damage insurance - he just mentioned it in passing. This happened just as we were about to hike El Dorado canyon not even 500 yards into the trek. There is no way this could have been any fault of the average weight 54 year old woman who was wearing them. We weren't about to drive the 30 minutes back to your shop to exchange it so another day lost on our already short weekend. I want to leave a review but I don't like not giving the business a chance to rectify the situation before spreading to all future clients our dissatisfaction with how this all went down. $20 for a repair of an already really warn piece of equipment is rediculous. Our next days rental in Estes had no added charge and they agreed that having to pay for this damage was highway robbery. I gave this company over a week to respond to my private message. They failed. If you are going to rent - do so in Estes Park and travel with your equipment from there. It is worth the trip for better customer service. read more

Looking for some new snowboard attire, and the Crystal Ski Shop is the place. We were visiting some friends in Boulder and one of them wanted to go look at equipment. The staff knew their stuff, answering all his questions with first hand knowledge. I saw some great attire, need to save a bit more for it, but will be back. Looking forward to working with Crystal Ski Shop later this season, their staff makes you want to come back. read more

Ben Dickson did an outstanding job with Customer Service and bundling rentals to best fit my needs. There were 3 selections for rentals, and had multiple price ranges for other supplies. The value was outstanding for rentals - only $175 for an economy package of skis, poles, and boots! read more

They absolutely saved my board from the dump, great service and atmosphere also pretty reasonable pricing. Frok now on I will come here with any type of problems with my equipment. Overall an A1 experience at crystal ski shop! read more

Very welcoming and kind when we got there. First time snowboarding and appreciated the patience and questions. However, once we got to the mountain the binding fell off and I had to rent one from the mountain. Pretty upsetting and disappointing but when we went to return the manager was very kind. She gave us full refund for the board and a free coupon for next time. read more

Came into boulder for one day and wanted to go cross country skiing. Found this place, thought that it would be super busy and a hassle to get skis because it is the holiday season. So I assumed it would be super packed and take forever with a long wait. Well to my surprise, this place was super packed and we were in and out within 10 Minutes. Got a really great deal on the rental price too! Andrew K was the guy who helped us and he was super on point. read more

I was walking around the area last year sometime around end of April 2019 and came across this ski shop. I came in to look at some gloves since I was looking to replace my old gloves. Nina was super helpful and very knowledgable about the products they sell. I bought quality gloves and ended up getting my board waxed for a reasonable price. My board always had dry areas since I started using it and whenever I had my board waxed in California, the dry areas never really went away. After my board was waxed here, the bottom of my board looked supple and nicely waxed. Excellent service and products! read more

I love this ski shop. I called four ski shops in the area and not only is Crystal the CHEAPEST it is also the NICEST and most KNOWLEDGEABLE. Only good experiences so far, I have no plans to rent anywhere else read more

This place is the place to go for all your skiing rental needs. We were headed to Idaho Springs for some fun and stoped in the day before. The two ladies that help us were very patient and kind. I'm a snow virgin. I've seen in on tv, I've driven by it, I've flown in it. But it wasn't until recently that I got to trek in it. And it was all due to the help of Crystal Ski Shop I was able to rent my snow shoes for super cheap ($12 for the entire day) and able to get my snow shoeing on, up in the hills. The service was super friendly, fast and welcoming. I wasn't able to get my rentals in on time, so was embarrassed about being late in returning them, but the cool guy helping me out said not to worry and didn't make me feel like a jerk for keeping them an extra day. I recommend them for their service and their prices...Crystal Ski Shop is the place to go for your snow needs. read more

My birthday is New Years Eve, so when I decided last minute to go snow shoeing on my birthday during the day, I thought it would easy as pie to rent a pair of snow shoes. Boy, little did I know how popular it is to rent snow shoes on New Years Eve day. Every shop from REI Denver to that Army surplus store in Boulder were all either rented out or reserved. I started calling all the ski shops in both towns and finally my anxious fingers dialed Crystal Ski Shop. I blurted out, "It's my birthday and nobody has show shoes, do you have snow shoes for me?" "It is your birthday huh?" The guy on the other line responded "We usually don't save snow shoes, but since it is your birthday I will hold you a pair." I was so excited, and picking up the show shoes was painless, affordable and convenient. It cost me only $12.00 to rent for 24 hours. * Star one is for treating the Birthday girl right ** Star two is for friendly and approachable staff *** Star three is for saving a pair just for little ol' me **** Now that's cheap star four is for affordable prices ***** Good luck star five is for good karma... Really nice people, rental process was incredibly efficient and the gear was in good condition. Certainly will be returning in the future!

Christian went above and beyond to help us resolve an issue with our rental. Really appreciate it!

Wish there were more stars to give Crystal Ski Shop. My daughter and I are 1st time skiers and rented our equipment for a trip to Eldora. We had reserved our equipment on-line and when we arrived to pick up the equipment the place was packed. Every member of the Crystal team was overly accommodating, friendly and really seem to enjoy their work. Abe was the one who personally handled our equipment rental and went through a number of steps to be sure everything we rented fit perfect and was right for first time skiers. The return process was incredibly smooth and efficient and once again, another team member providing great customer service. We rented again a week later for a second trip to Eldora and once again - the same great service and dedicated staff. Looking forward to our next ski trip and rentals from Crystal! read more

This is where I go when my skis need some love. Waxing them in the garage is fine but if there is more work thats needed or I have little time they always take good care of them. Recently they brought my Line Profits back to life after 2 years in storage. The plastic was falling apart on the bottom. They were so hairy I could have left the skins at home. The tech called and explained all the options and what he thought was best. It was like a personal project to save the skis. Two base grinds, multiple waxes. Heroic. And because I was originally quoted only $20 for a hot wax, he did all that work for free. Should have been over $100 probably. But they care about the skis and care about their service and did not want to change the price. This place is full of good people and they know what they are doing in the shop. read more

Alex and the crew at Crystal Ski Shop are the best! I brought in my downhill and x-c skis to get tuned. Alex looked at my x-c skis and said, "Hmmm, they're in pretty good shape, all I would do here is. . ." and he proceeded to wax them -- FOR FREE! Who does this? Not many places, not these days, and not in Boulder. Alex reminded me of why I decided to move to Boulder almost 10 years ago -- So friendly, so honest, so amazing!! read more

Top notch customer service. Justin is as kind as small business owners come. I have always enjoyed renting/tuning at Crystal but today the service was above and beyond. They had a malfunction with the stone grinder and Justin promised me that my skis would be ready for our trip tomorrow. He took skis to Golden to finish the tuning and then personally dropped my skis at my home after communicating the process at several times throughout the day. Please support this small business, you will NOT be disappointed. read more

The staff is so friendly here! They did a super quick turnaround waxing my snowboard and did it for free!

Very good rates, friendly staff and good equipment, what more can you ask for! Rented for a day at Eldora and will be back soon.

Cute workers and great service. I rented my ski boots and poles from here. Not too expensive

We stopped here on our way up to the mountain. I liked that they opened earlier than most other rental shops that open at 10am. They had a decent selection of rental equipment. The staff was a bit dry but they seemed knowledgeable. I would recommend this shop if you're looking for a good rental at fair pricing. read more
