I had some lowlander friends coming in to town and not enough camping gear, so I rented them some sleeping bags and camp chairs. Outdoor Geek was great. They fixed the order I submitted wrong and worked with me on a pick-up and drop-off date. Everything was clean and in really good shape. Plus - for making an account or signing up on their email list (check their website) you get a $10 coupon which means I got to snag some camping food for free. The store is nice and has a lot of really useful gear, especially for how small it is. read more

We came here to rent microspikes and potentially buy bear spray. Carinna (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!) was super helpful. We decided against the bear spray based on the locations we were hiking but the spikes were reasonably priced and we were so happy we rented them! A lot of people on the trails didn't have them and were struggling on the ice and snow. The employee that helped us return the spikes was also very nice. We'll definitely rent from here again when we're back in town. read more

Super easy and enjoyable renting experience. All of the gear was in good shape and very high quality brands. My girlfriend and I got the Couples Retreat Package and it was perfect for our needs. The only things we needed to bring were some kitchen utensils (forks and spoons), a sponge/soap for cleaning the cookware, and a lighter for the stove. The Outdoors Geek staff are very friendly and if you pick up from the Denver warehouse you will be greeted by a couple sweet shop dogs. I would definitely recommend this service for anyone that wants to go on a camping trip anywhere in the country without the massive investment of purchasing quality camping gear. Don't buy cheap gear from Walmart, rent with these guys instead! read more

They were so helpful and had everything I needed. I was able to purchase a lightly used cot for a decent price and a little stove. Not only did the big box stores not have camping items I needed, but they were also very over priced. I found great quality equipment that was new or like new for great prices! I highly recommend this store for camping, mountain climbing, or anything outdoors! read more

Easy way to rent, simple and affordable! Family friendly feels and you'll be greeted by dogs!

Everything was great until we tried the put it all back in to the box. The box was stuffed to the gills, it was like a game of Tetris trying to get it smashed back into the box. Please give a bit bigger boxes. It was 90 degrees and we spent more time getting it back in than it did to set it all up. The tent and sleeping bags were really nice. We never ended up cooking so we never even used the grill, pots and pans. read more

Outdoors Geek was one of the best decisions we made when planning our trip to Rocky Mountain National Park last June. I called and had a few questions regarding some of the equipment and was explained everything in great detail by a very nice gentleman. I then had a very easy time ordering everything online. I was a little nervous that everything would be like it should but any worry quickly disappeared when we picked up the equipment. Everything was ready to go and the owner had a lot of great advice for me and my boyfriend about conditions, food, things to do and see and was so pleasant to talk with. We hope to return to Colorado again in the future and definitely will use them again! They also ship their equipment around the US and I'm sure that service is top notch too! Nothing beats a local, family owned business ran with love and care! Thanks again Outdoors Geeks for making our trip a huge success! read more

Superb customer service which always makes me feel happy about a company. And the products are branded, such as North Face, so top quality products! Enjoying the journey of trying out various brands and gear to decide which ones we want to purchase for personal regular use. Thanks Outdoors Geek! read more

These guys are an awesome company. I would use them or attend an event with gear provided by them again, any time. Just spent a weekend at the Young Living farm in Utah, with the Lemondroppers. Outdoor Geek provided the glamping setup and it was amazing. We had everything we need and didn't need to have packed 1/2 of what we did. Two huge thumbs up to these guys. Thank you!!!! The Lemondroppers you guys! read more

Outdoors Geek - Glamping Under The Stars - Outdoor Gear Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Before I planned our family trip to Yellowstone, I didn't even know such a service existed! This company will mail camping equipment to a UPS near your destination so you don't have to fly with it. We were delighted with the service from beginning to end. We got the Yellowstone package which has a tent that fits the 8x8' footprint limit that Grant Campground sets. All of the equipment (tent, chairs, table, cooking set, mattress pads, sleeping bags) were clean and in good condition. We bought our own propane and firewood, and brought cutting board, knife, and eating utensils. They provide a spatula and cooking spoon... I wish we had thought to pack our cooking tongs. We are not experienced campers so we appreciated that the tent came with instructions printed on the bag label. The cooking stove didn't come with step by step instructions, so you may want to check that out before you end up in Yellowstone without cell service. The mattress pads do require inflating and they are very smooth - our campsite was bit totally flat, so we all slid off our mats the first night. We ended up packing our clothes around us to keep us on our mats! Try to find a level spot for your tent. Thank you to whoever suggested taking photos while unpacking the boxes - it wasn't easy to Tetris everything back in. They mailed our package to the Jackson UPS, which charged us an additional $30 to store the 2 large boxes. They also gave us the return slips and plenty of time to return the equipment. Every email I sent received a response within an hour - super responsive! I highly recommend this service for anybody who doesn't own their own camping equipment or doesn't want to haul it to their destination. Thank you, Outdoors Geek for making our first Yellowstone camping experience a success! read more

I cannot recommend this company enough. The customer service is outstanding. They helped me with figuring out everything I needed for two separate trips of 9 people each (so it was a lot) and figured out how to get it to me on time. I would absolutely use them every time I need to rent equipment (also..the equipment was in great shape) read more

These guys were awesome! REI was all out of backpack rentals so I called up Outdoors Geek. Will, the owner, was super nice and helpful. He set us up with a great pack that fit my fiance perfectly and I was able to pick it up locally in Denver. It was a breeze and we had a killer trip. I will definitely be coming back to these guys for camping rentals and will recommend them to all my friends. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Outdoors Geek- they are hands-down an amazing company that I would recommend to anyone looking to rent gear. As a new customer of Outdoors Geek I received awesome customer service, high-quality gear that was affordable and a hassle free rental process. My Experience: I needed to rent gear for a backpacking trip I was taking on a Friday. I placed the order online that Monday evening (around 4 pm), and that same day an associate of Outdoors Geek called me to say they received my order, confirmed the ship/arrival date, and let me know that she was driving it to UPS as we spoke. I received the gear on Wednesday and it looked brand new! I rented a pack, sleeping bag and sleeping pad and not only did they look brand new, they were high quality products. When my trip ended I simply put everything back in the box, put the label on that Outdoors Geek provided and dropped it off at UPS. It was such a simple, convenient process. I will definitely be renting gear from Outdoors Geek for my next trip. Thank you Outdoors Geek for such an awesome experience! read more

Only rented a SPOT GPS from them - 80 bucks but they took the time to assist me as if I was spending $1000. Can't argue with great customer service. read more

I just got finished with a 3 week road trip with my family of 6. It's tough packing for a camping trip when you have to take a flight to get there. Many of the items that we needed, we simply could not take with us on the plane. That is the niche that Outdoors Geek fills perfectly. Rent the items that you can't bring with you. I called up and reserved all the things we needed. When I landed in Denver we drove from the airport to their location and scooped up what I reserved and bought a few other things in their store and we were on our way to the mountains. Drop off was just as simple. The equipment performed perfectly and customer service was fantastic. I would absolutely use this company for my next adventure. read more

Love this place. Rented last year, went flawless. Now camping more and bought some used sleeping bags. 5 stars. Great to work with.

Great product selection and very friendly staff. Worked with my backpacking trip schedule and gave me a reasonable time to bring the gear back. Great business idea to boot! read more

1st backpacking trip & didn't know if I would like it so I decided to rent the major pieces of gear. It all arrived 2 days prior my trip, in good shape and clean. Plan on using them again next time for the stuff I only need for backpacking (I car camp & have gear suited for that). read more

OudoorsGeek is really something I had never dream I would come across ever in my life. Being an adventure lover I wanted to make every adventure that life could offer me. But my only worry was what would I do of all the gear after I finished my adventure. Every activity required different gear and my store room was packed with the gear that I did not need anymore. I'm lucky I came across OutdoorsGeek and all my troubles were ended. I could rent the best of the adventure gear without any worries. The best part is I could buy whatever I wanted. The best solution for me and many of my friends who had similar problems. read more

I was just at Fire Fly Music Festival in Dover, DE - they had everything ready for me at the event, and so helpful prior to the event making sure I had all the right equipment, and more importantly so nice and knowledge about setting the camping equipment up, which came in handy. The last day of festival they came picked up all the equipment. All the equipment was in full working order whether it was new or not, it was in good shape. I will definitely be recommending Outdoors Geek , and next time I am at festival will be choosing them to provide the camping gear. read more

Flew into Denver for some sight seeing and camping and needed some chairs and a cooler to supplement what we were able to bring. O.G had everything ready for us when we got there, no hassels, quite friendly, even willing to work with us on a return off hours. Thanks, you geeks! read more

Rented gear for Firefly Music Festival in Dover, DE. Package included big tent, shade awning, table, chairs, lantern, sleeping pads and sleeping bags. Everything was very clean and in almost new condition. One of the sleeping pads seemed to lose a little air overnight however. But was still comfy to sleep on. The employees were very nice and helpful. They shuttled us and our gear back to the campsite. read more

Great service here at OG. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We live in the area and were going away on a 3-day trip to Steamboat Springs, so we actually swung by their location and picked up the gear in-person. All of the equipment was super-clean and top-notch! I apologize, but I don't remember the names of the people that helped me (a female, a young male who helped me load the gear, and the man who I believed to be the owner) but ALL were fun to speak with, knowledgeable about the surrounding areas, and expeditious in helping us get the right gear. Because of them, our trip was a wild success and we had an outstanding time. I would recommend to anyone in the area or ordering from elsewhere (though I can only speak to my experience of picking up locally, of course). This is a a great way to try out specific gear before buying it, as well. They have some top-notch brands and there are also many items for purchase in their warehouse. Thanks again OG for all the help! read more

Excellent experience renting backpacking gear for a 3-day trip. Everyone was super helpful on the phone to make sure we got the proper gear to fit us. They also made sure we had everything we needed. The gear arrived the day before our trip but you are not charge for that day and you get an extra day after you get back to send it all back. All of the gear was in great condition and a good majority of it was brand new. The price was great considering it was a complete package. Most other online rentals you rent everything separate. read more
